Sorry to hear you have had that horrible experience.
I had 2 miscarriages at 6 weeks- about 4 months between the 2.
Then I waited about 7m before trying again, pregnant about 2m later and this one held. DD is 2.5 now.
I hope you have a successful outcome next time

Gingerbread981 · 19/09/2024 07:20

1 period and then a successful pregnancy!

Sorry to hear of your loss. Cettainly is a tough time so hugs to you. Mine happened +21 years ago now. Had a 5 yo son. Had a miscarriage at 13 weeks in the October. I appreciate GPs and times have changed since then but i went to get a sicknote from work and had a little cry. He let me out the back door so no one could see my tear stained face. He was a lovely old school GP and he basically told me to get back on the horse... Literally! So we did. My daughter was born the following September and that was 11 months later. She is 21 next week. We also had another daughter without issues who is now 17. Worrying of course. Always in the back of your mind. But that was best for us at the the time. I hope everything works out wonderful for you going forward 💐

Spomb · 19/09/2024 08:13

I think it was about 4 years and 4 miscarriages before my child was born. I got pregnant soon after the first miscarriage, then again 2yrs later, then pregnant soon after that miscarriage.

Newhere5 · 19/09/2024 08:15

About 6-7 months.
Good luck OP

SpottySpotSpots · 19/09/2024 08:15

It took a year for us - almost to the day from getting a negative tear following my miscarriage. We had actually been due to have an appointment with the fertility clinic the following week when I got the positive pregnancy test.

CurlewKate · 19/09/2024 08:19

So sorry. I had 2 miscarriages, and for ME (I stress this is just me) I didn't want to try again until after the due date. I was lucky enough (I was very much on the older side) to conceive immediately both times.

LadyCactus · 19/09/2024 08:23

Miscarried at 9 weeks, had one period and then became pregnant with my second. Best of luck xxx

starsinyourpies · 19/09/2024 08:29

Two weeks, no period in between.

Good luck ❤️

SearchingTheSkies · 19/09/2024 08:33

Miscarried at 10 weeks. Conceived again 1st month trying after period returned, but sadly miscarried again at 6 weeks. It then took another year before I conceived again (no idea why it took so long!), but this one stuck and dd is now 4. Dd2 came along in due course as well, with no further miscarriages.

All the very best to you, OP.

Blue2020 · 19/09/2024 08:47

Sorry for your loss.

I took three months after the surgery, it resulted in DS. I did track ovulation though to make sure I was covering the window each cycle.

MsMartini · 19/09/2024 08:57

My dc are in their 20s now, and I had one miscarriage before the first, and one in between. I left a gap of whatever the advice was at the time (I think 3 months) and then conceived within 2-4 months, both pregnancies fine. I had surgery and was anaemic after both miscarriages, so did need the recovery time I think. All the best to you.

StolenChanel · 19/09/2024 08:59

I had three miscarriages more or less back to back (maybe two months or so between each conception), and then a successful pregnancy around 10 months after the last miscarriage.

MarigoldExpress · 19/09/2024 09:07

Sorry you're going through this. For us it was 5 cycles and then a successful pregnancy who is now a preschooler. I was told we could try again straight away, but my impression was that my body was just not ready for at least the first 3 months, regardless of that medical advice, so no way was anything going to stick. However I did put a lot of unnecessary pressure on myself hoping to be one of those that would conceive again almost instantly. Wishing you all the best.

Hoppinggreen · 19/09/2024 09:10

I am sorry to hear of your troubles.
I had a MMC with a D&C and then completely by accident I got pg 1 week later.
It was quite a shock and very very hard to deal with from a psychological persepective BUT both me and baby were physically fine.

TMI2000 · 19/09/2024 09:13

I am sorry to hear that you are struggling OP. We miscarried at 8 weeks back in February 2023 and found out we were pregnant again 6 weeks later, no period in between! Was quite a shock and my baby boy born happily and healthily in November and is now giving me a run for my money! Wishing you all the best :)

ImJustFineTYVM · 19/09/2024 09:36

I was pregnant again after one cycle (doctor advised to wait for a cycle to pass, don't know why. Successful pregnancy and then another one conceived and went to term just afterwards (which meant I had 2 under 2!..

Miscarriages are extremely common, especially when you first conceive. Often they happen before you even realise you are pregnant but unfortunately some manage to fight on for longer. I miscarried at 11 weeks. I won't go into detail but it genuinely was nature doing her job.

I assume you are going through a miscarriage. Sending you my wishes for a quick recovery and some happiness in your near future.

Peonies12 · 19/09/2024 09:53

Sorry for your loss. We waited a couple of months to have some emotional recovery time, then conceived again 4 months later - about the same as conceiving the first time. Having 1 MC doesn't make it more likely you'll have another - recurrent MCs are rare. GP told me it can be common to take longer to conceive after a MC, but equally some people conceive very quickly!

WildCherryBlossom · 19/09/2024 09:58

@ImJustFineTYVM is right. I don't want to minimise anyone's losses but miscarriages are a fairly "normal". Most women I know with children have also had at least one miscarriage.

One of my DCs was apparently conceived approx 2.5 weeks after a miscarriage (I was supposed to wait 3 months but didn't think I would be fertile then).

Snowdrops17 · 19/09/2024 10:02

I'm very sorry for your loss it took me two years to conceive after my loss but it turned out my partner had less than 1% morphology which once we knew were able to fix. There is more and more evidence that men's sperm health plays a huge roll in miscarriages might be worth getting you both checked if you have been trying for a while ? Best of luck x

Tellmemore16 · 19/09/2024 10:02

Really sorry for your loss. Sending you lots of love and positivity in your journey

I had a missed miscarriage, was picked up at the 12 week scan. The growth had stopped at around 9 weeks. I then went on to fall pregnant 5 months later and had no issues or complications in that pregnancy

I wish you the best of luck

I had an early loss in 2022 - 8 weeks. It took 3 months to conceive again.

Lost that baby again sadly - it was a chemical.

Got pregnant straight away again. Twins. Unfortunately they died at birth 10 months ago. Separate complication. Random but very rare.

Took 8 months trying but currently pregnant again 9 weeks. This one took the longest but it was probably grief related

lockdownbabyx · 19/09/2024 10:07

Miscarried around 4 1/2 weeks and then ovulated 2 weeks later and fell pregnant. I was shocked I don't have a period first. Not sure if that's unusual though.

We're actually trying for our 3rd and I miscarried 2 weeks ago, patiently waiting to ovulate again. I was hoping to ovulate again pretty soon the same as last time but it's looking like I may have to wait for my next period 👎🏼

Not unusual at all. You ovulate before your period. I was the same. Sorry for your loss
