Hey everyone moving over from the ttc sept 2024 thread. Very light start to period today. Expect to start tomorrow with negative pregancy tests. Thought id dip my toes in and start a wee thread.

Little bit about me. Im 35 years (soon to be 36 in oct...a birthday bfp would be lovely) been ttc since jan this year. This will now be cycle 10 for me. I have a 8 year old daughter with my ex and had to have ivf/icsi to have her due to his low sperm count. My new partner and i have been together now 2 and a half year and would love to extend our family.

So far i have had day 21 bloods which confirmed that i am ovulating and waiting to hear back regarding his SA results.

Please feel welcome in joining this thread and sending postive pregnancy vibes to all 😍

@lochmaree Oh so sorry 😢 rest up and treat yourself today with something you love!!

han311 · 07/10/2024 13:00

@LS888 I was v similar to you pre baby absolute clockwork pretty much to the minute. Now typically 28-30 so still quite regular but not as close as before. I think you're right I will definitely try the OPKs next month if not pg this month, would be curious to see if I am right or wrong. Oh I do hope this is both of our months though!

HNM · 07/10/2024 13:38

The need to pee on something constantly is just ridiculous... I bought ovulation strips last night so I'll be desperate to start using them ASAP. I think I've ovulated already as had pain this morning and EWCM started when my period finished last week - this AM I jumped on my husband and was like we need to do it now before work! I know the pain can mean it's too late though so we'll wait and see. I'll probably still start using the sticks though just in case! Honestly it's such a drama isn't it, it's the constant waiting and not knowing and also trying to do everything I can to have the best chance of conceiving. Thinking of you all! Xx

MyGardenDaisies · 07/10/2024 14:20

@lochmaree I am sorry 😞

MyGardenDaisies · 07/10/2024 14:22

4DPO and I’ve started to symptom spot - got white mucuous discharge, headache, fatigue and now I’ve convinced myself that the discharge is a promising sign 🫣

Tadpolecat · 07/10/2024 14:26

@lochmaree 😔 welcome to the club. Onwards with another cycle! I'm on CD3.

JKDcot · 07/10/2024 14:45

Please can I join!? I’m 42 trying to conceive no 2. I have a 4 year old who we conceived in cycle 2.

I used the clear blue ovulation tests and confused this month. Went straight from O result to static smiley face? I had the static on Saturday morning. Felt some ovulation pains in the afternoon but didn’t have sex until Sunday evening as my husband was away. I assume from all I read it’s too late after ovulation to work…. I didn’t know it could go from O to static smiley face so quickly? Anyone else?

MyGardenDaisies · 07/10/2024 15:02

@JKDcot the static smiley means you will ovulate in the next 48h I think. So it might be ok

han311 · 07/10/2024 16:54

@MyGardenDaisies same 🤣 the symptom spotting is real!! Xx

BGxxx · 07/10/2024 17:07

@JKDcot if it helps I found I’d ovulate at least 48 hours later with the clearblue! When I used the cheap LH strips it wouldn’t peak until the next day. So I think you’re definitely in with a chance dtd Sunday xx

CoolSummer89 · 07/10/2024 17:57

@YKM2829 welcome! Your post really made me laugh. Best of luck with the coil and cutting down on 🌱Really wouldn't worry about your age - you're at your prime 🙂

@MyGardenDaisies @AmberM223 @LS888 I am 3dpo. We just have to make it through this week - hang in there ladies!

@lochmaree I am so sorry! Silver lining is that you have your fun follicular days ahead of you!

@MyGardenDaisies I have similar today (3dpo) for me it's just the normal with raised progesterone. Is this unusual for you?

Hi @JKDcot I don't use the clear blue tests however I think they work just by measuring LH levels. Some people's LH levels rise gradually and other rise very quickly (under 24 hours). I am a rapid riser, so I often have to test my OPKs twice a day to catch my LH rising. Perhaps a similar thing is happening here? (See the number of fertile days is personal to you here: uk.clearblue.com/ovulation-tests/advanced-digital)

Thanks hahaha, and thank you! I'm scared though. Getting the coil removed is a big step hahaha.

MyGardenDaisies · 07/10/2024 18:18

@CoolSummer89 yes, I don’t ever get headaches, and usually have energy mid-cycle.

dellarossa · 07/10/2024 18:42

I caved and just tested secretly while DH was out with DD - stark white, but what else did I expect at 7dpo?! 🤔 😂

With DD I got a negative result at 9dpo and then a positive one at 13dpo so I’m not out yet! I’m just so impatient!

MamaSads · 07/10/2024 18:45

CoolSummer89 · 06/10/2024 19:13

Hi @MamaSads I'm CD15/2DPO. When do you usually ovulate? I have been trying for 11 cycles now and have recently decided to prioritise getting fit over TTC. Just feels like a more positive thing to focus on, so I can stop obsessing over something I can't fully control. My BMI is 25 but I'm trying not to focus too much on weight.

Hi @LifeonMarss I don't have much experience of irregular periods as mine have always been 26-28 days. When I first started TTC I listened to this podcast which was a great explainer of what an 'ideal' period is like. https://hannahpearn.com/2023/03/30/what-can-your-period-tell-you-about-your-fertility/

Exciting about the new house @Nicola1988 and great that you have something to distract yourself with over the next few days.

I was on the pregnancy boards last week and saw that a mumsnetter had an accidental pregnancy aged 48 and is progressing well! I know that's unusual but just trying to calm myself down as freaking out a bit as I will turn 36 in Jan.

Best of luck to everyone! 🤗

@CoolSummer89 I am due to ovulate this Friday so cycle day 14. I hope you get your positive this month, we were 11 cycles when I conceived with my dd. Definitely agree with getting fit being something positive to focus on, I have bought a rowing machine today so I can hopefully shed some weight/gain some muscle! Good luck to you this month x

MyGardenDaisies · 07/10/2024 18:51

I went back to the September thread and looked again at the tests I posted when I tought I saw a faint line and then it disappeared, and now thinking if I actually had a chemical or was it just line eyes/smudged colour?

My period came on time and was normal, so does it even matter (physically) if it was? 🤔

JKDcot · 07/10/2024 19:39

Thanks all for your advice

Moomoo20 · 07/10/2024 19:57

Hello ladies, just joining this thread. Little backstory.... I have a 4 year old and I'm ttc baby number 2. We have been trying since January and I fell pregnant in July but ended up having a missed miscarriage a few weeks ago. Even though it's soon, I feel ready to start trying again (I feel like I want it even more now after my mc :(.) I haven't had my 'first period' since my miscarriage but i bought ovulation sticks and I'm going to start testing from tomorrow and hopefully it happens soon. 🤞

LS888 · 07/10/2024 20:08

@Moomoo20 good luck for your first cycle. I had a mmc in July too. And feel the same, the mmc just makes you more determined to make the next one stick. Fingers crossed for us both!

I feel like you need to just test even if you know it’ll be negative to get it out of your system 🤣🤣

I have found my people 🤣😍

Despite all my swagger today, I stopped and picked up Sainsbury’s pink dye 5 day early tests on the way home. I’m telling myself this is for the weekend, but I can guarantee one of the pack will be done by tomorrow lunchtime, I just can’t help myself 🤣

Moomoo20 · 07/10/2024 20:19

I'm so sorry to hear about your MMC, it's so hard! If you don't mind me asking, how long did it take for your first period to come after your MMC. My Midwife advised that should wait one cycle before ttc (for dating purposes) but tbh I'm on a time crunch 😂🙈 so I want to start ttc asap.

I haven’t got any tests 🥲 I’m going to prime myself some easy at homes for the weekend🤣

I didn’t wait to ttc when I had a mmc, I didn’t want to wait either! Mine returned about 2 weeks after my negative test

LetstalkaboutBruno · 07/10/2024 21:23

Hiya gals!

I am following this thread from the Sept one. The last cycle was a real steep curve for me, as I never usually have cycles alone. As I have randomly been blessed with another opportunity (maybe) to try, I am much more cautious with the temping, making sure I don't miss a day etc.

I am currently CD25. I am possibly in the TWW - however I don't think I am. I had a peak CB advanced ovulation test on CD20. However my temps haven't necessarily lined up with O thus far. So I think a crappy PCOS surge. I am having all sorts of new things going on, the past 2-3 days I have had the most annoying watery mouth. I can't get through a sentence without needing to clear my mouth else I would dribble everywhere.

I am in limbo land, constantly, it feels. Something is happening, due to the headaches and migraines that I have had (definitely hormonal related). My temp on CD 24 (Saturday morning) is very low, however could be influenced by the fact that we were camping in the Cairngorms.

Attached are my charts, one on Advanced mode, and the other on OPK mode as FF seems to think that there was a chance.

Any interpretation would be helpful 😛
