Hey everyone moving over from the ttc sept 2024 thread. Very light start to period today. Expect to start tomorrow with negative pregancy tests. Thought id dip my toes in and start a wee thread.

Little bit about me. Im 35 years (soon to be 36 in oct...a birthday bfp would be lovely) been ttc since jan this year. This will now be cycle 10 for me. I have a 8 year old daughter with my ex and had to have ivf/icsi to have her due to his low sperm count. My new partner and i have been together now 2 and a half year and would love to extend our family.

So far i have had day 21 bloods which confirmed that i am ovulating and waiting to hear back regarding his SA results.

Please feel welcome in joining this thread and sending postive pregnancy vibes to all 😍

@LS888 thank you lovely ☺️ no they really don't have half a clue do they 😂 I will keep my fingers crossed for you! I've not used OPKs before but will consider if we don't have any luck this first few months. It's hard when it feels like the clock is ticking. I will be 34 in a few weeks. Would just love to not have too big of a gap, my daughter just turned 3. Took a while to even feel like I could go through it all again after a tough birth and postpartum last time xxx

MamaSads · 06/10/2024 16:29

CD9 for me this month, anyone the same? Feel so nervous, second month ttc but took us nearly a year with my dd and that was 7 years ago. Taking folic acid but concerned about my weight, bmi is 30.5 , last time was 25. Is anyone else actively trying to get fit/lose weight as well? I'm only 5ft 1 so a few pounds will help a lot but I'm not getting anywhere haha!

LifeonMarss · 06/10/2024 18:14

Hoping it’s okay to hop on here, I’m 26 and TTC our first. I’ve been taking vitamin D3 and folic acid recently to try and help me.
im a bit anxious as I’ve had my cycle change recently and had one 38 day cycle which isn’t normal for me as usually I’m 32/33 days and since then my periods have only lasted for around 4 days and I’m ovulating around day 10/11 on my cycle meaning I have a short follicular phase but a longer luteal phase.
hoping it’s just me over thinking things or it’s stress related as recently started a new job but I’m sending lots of positivity and hoping you all get your positive tests this month

LS888 · 06/10/2024 18:22

@han311 we were keen to have a small gap but tbh I wasn’t 100% sure about it when we initially started trying again after having my daughter. Postpartum and early days are hard!! We got pregnant on the first month of trying back in May but then I had a mmc in July. Think that has made me reevaluate and I definitely do want another and feel more ready now. Here’s hoping we have positives this month.

The only thing I will say about OPKs is that I didn’t realise I was ovulating late until I used them. And would have just assumed day 14/15 but actually I’m more like day 19.

Nicola1988 · 06/10/2024 18:48

Cycle day 20 here i just not able to bring myself to test this month. Too scared of the disappointment. Get the keys to my new house tomorrow so ill my time is being spent packing boxes and cleaning so at least keeping my mind off the tww slightly x

Hey guys I'm Karen and I'm currently 7dpo ttc number 3! Had a miscarriage back in June at 11 weeks with an unplanned pregnancy and it made us realise we would love another child to add to our 2 boys (aged 8 and 10). My husband is 50 and I'm 38 but we are both very young at heart! Lol we have been trying since July.

Anyone else due next weekend? I'm gna have to try very hard not to test early but it's so hard! Last month I was CONVINCED I was pregnant but I wasn't. So going to Try very hard not to over analyse symptoms this month 🥴

CoolSummer89 · 06/10/2024 19:13

Hi @MamaSads I'm CD15/2DPO. When do you usually ovulate? I have been trying for 11 cycles now and have recently decided to prioritise getting fit over TTC. Just feels like a more positive thing to focus on, so I can stop obsessing over something I can't fully control. My BMI is 25 but I'm trying not to focus too much on weight.

Hi @LifeonMarss I don't have much experience of irregular periods as mine have always been 26-28 days. When I first started TTC I listened to this podcast which was a great explainer of what an 'ideal' period is like. https://hannahpearn.com/2023/03/30/what-can-your-period-tell-you-about-your-fertility/

Exciting about the new house @Nicola1988 and great that you have something to distract yourself with over the next few days.

I was on the pregnancy boards last week and saw that a mumsnetter had an accidental pregnancy aged 48 and is progressing well! I know that's unusual but just trying to calm myself down as freaking out a bit as I will turn 36 in Jan.

Best of luck to everyone! 🤗

Hi! Hoping to join you all😊 TTC our 2nd, going for a ‘relaxed’ approach which I’m not sure exists for me🤣 I haven’t had a period postpartum yet as I’m breastfeeding but I think I ovulated this month as had ewcm. I was desperate to do some LH tests but managed to restrain myself

AmberM223 · 06/10/2024 20:26

Hey everyone, well i’m 4DPO now. Really going to try not symptom spot! I’m due on on the 18th but it’s not unusual for me to be 2/3 days late so going to try be absolute best not to test until 20th Oct!! See how i get on haha!

Wishing so much luck to everyone and all the new people on the thread!! Let’s hope for lots and lots of positives this month!!

HNM · 06/10/2024 20:30

@BGxxx We decided to have the 'relaxed' approach which lasted about 5 minutes for me... We are definitely not having enough sex and we actually got married yesterday but my new hubbie fell asleep on the sofa! We DDD today but otherwise the last time was Friday morning (I think, maybe Thursday). I have a feeling I might've ovulated already so the whole thing is stressing me out! I'm currently browsing Amazon for ovulation tests, I initially said I wouldn't use them but I just can't help myself.

We're also trying for our second, baby number one has just turned 13 months, I'm still breastfeeding but do have my period monthly so I'm not sure if it'll affect my fertility.

BGxxx · 06/10/2024 21:37

@HNM why is it so difficult to relax 🥲🤣 oh congratulations!! I’ve not had any signs of an impending period at all until the ewcm. I know it’s normal to not ovulate when breastfeeding but I feel like most people have one when they start dropping a few feeds?! Honestly who knows, I feel like I’ll be TTC for a lonnnng time, which I’m sure my partner will be pleased about🤣

lochmaree · 06/10/2024 21:48

I think I'm 12dpo today, did a Sainsbury's test this afternoon which was negative. 😏 No AF yet tho, due Tuesday at my best guess but since I don't know the date of my last one I'm not too sure.

han311 · 06/10/2024 23:56

@LS888 so sorry to hear about your MMC. That must've been so hard, but can totally see how that would make you reevaluate things.. Oh really!! That's interesting..I think I've just always assumed I've been right based on having regular cycles, CM, O pain and general symptoms, it's tended to work in terms of catching/avoiding but maybe I will try OPKs next month then and see! (If this isn't the month of course) How long are your cycles? Xx

han311 · 06/10/2024 23:58

@HNM I chuckled reading what you wrote about 'the relaxed approach' lasting 5 minutes. That is soooooo me 😂😂 literally haven't thought about anything else, googling constantly Blush lol xx

YKM2829 · 07/10/2024 06:48

Hi I'm 28, DD is 6 years. Conceived after 10 years on the mini pill and 8 months tracking periods and 2 months actively trying.
This time around New partner. I've had baby fever since we got together.
Have issues with my periods. On the copper coil. Short cycles and random bleeding for days in-between periods and lots of cramping and pain and pain during ovulation too. Anxiety over age and starting to loose eggs. Anxiety BF is 32 and worried about his sperms count. Though no actu reason too I'm just a worry wort 🤣
Looking at maybe ttc Xmas or just after. Need to sort coil out first. Bf says he really wants kids now but wants financial situation amd psycho ex to back off first. Appreciated and noted and respected.
Hoping my new job helps him feel ready more 🤣🤦🏽‍♀️
Currently trying to cut down on 🌿 3 months before Xmas for healthy pregnancy.
Getting copper coil taken out at end of the month. Bf seems more happy ro do that and track cycles and maybe without admitting it fully he seems more willing to just see what happens. For the sake of my periods. Had conversation already of we get caught our and both agree Abor... is not an option so I guess we are just going with the flow 🤷🏽‍♀️ without saying it out loud 🤣 I'm definatly more ready than he is 🤣 see what happens 🤞🏼❤️ sorry its long and I'm a waffler 🤣

LS888 · 07/10/2024 07:56

@han311 my cycles were usually around 28 days pre baby. But can vary a little now but usually 28-30 days long. So I don’t have a long luteal phase at all. Even if you just did the sticks for month month so you know. If you are getting ov pain then I guess it’s probably around when you think anyway. Worth a try next month maybe just to check.

MyGardenDaisies · 07/10/2024 08:08

Morning! 4DPO today and haven’t still even bough any pregnancy tests. Feeling proud haha

I am glad there’s these threads of women in similar situations and feelings, as it’s so overconsuming 🫠

AmberM223 · 07/10/2024 08:33

@MyGardenDaisies we are at the same point in our cycles for defo then!! See how long we last without testing 😂

LS888 · 07/10/2024 08:35

@MyGardenDaisies well done!🤣 I have a box of cheapies from last cycle and one first response- hidden away so I won’t use it! I’m only 1DPO according to my app so a long wait now!

MyGardenDaisies · 07/10/2024 10:13

@AmberM223 I’m hoping to test on 14th or 15th 😄

Pipersgirl · 07/10/2024 10:46

Ahhh so lovely to read nice news about weddings and house moves- I hope everyone is keeping nice and busy for their 2WW!

I am 7DPO and have resisted even buying a pregnancy test- I am very smug about it 😁
(just wait and watch me crumble and pee on allll of the sticks tomorrow haha!)

dellarossa · 07/10/2024 12:10

@Pipersgirl I’m 7dpo too! Have found it easy not to test so far because I know it’s been far too early but waiting until the end of this week is going to be far trickier 😬

MyGardenDaisies · 07/10/2024 12:11

@dellarossa @Pipersgirl good luck! Hope you get BFP this weekend! 🤞

lochmaree · 07/10/2024 12:18

AF turned up today 😓

AmberM223 · 07/10/2024 12:22

@MyGardenDaisies Ah i have everything crossed for you!! I’m going to try my very best to wait till 18th earliest! I just need to keep busy!
