I am 5DPO today. First proper cycle of trying to conceive.

I know we’re not likely to feel any symptoms yet, but id anyone else hyper focused on every twinge or movement? I swear I woke up in the night with really sore b0.obs but now they don’t feel too bad - last night they were super veiny and looked diff.
I’m presuming this is just post-ovulation symptoms.

I don’t want to overthink and get myself stressed but so hoping something is going on. I hope i’ll know more in a few days.. and I know how rare/lucky it is to catch first time.

Just wanted to open up a thread for us all waiting! :) xx

Confirmed ectopic. Had methotrexate today. So that's me out of the game for 3-6 months. So stepping away from the TTC boards
Wishing you all best of luck guys xx

I’m incredibly sorry. Sending you a tonne of love and well wishes 💕❤️‍🩹. Be kind to yourself, that’s a difficult thing to navigate 😔🫂

That chart is very confusing tbf 🤣. You could download fertility friend and input your temps and see if it confirms ovulation for you? As that first LH rise and increase looks similar to what ovulation would.. but the second LH peak then kinda suggests you didn’t ovulate following the rise but then temps don’t rise how ovulation temps would.

Do you think your temps are reliable?

Yeah, it’s rubbish AF is enroute but it least she’s not keeping me waiting and getting my hopes up! She’s exactly on time! I know I’m going into a new cycle now and have my hormone and full blood test booked for Thursday.. so hoping that will be okay!! Also doing the at home sperm analysis so if anything is flagged on either side we can look into it and try to fix it early on! Can’t cope with the negative tests every month, it’s just making me worry!! Even though 2 cycles isn’t many, I just can’t help it.. xx

Yes that might be a shout actually.
I just don’t think i’m going to go ham testing next month as I’m almost stressed about it and we’re days off any form of potential bfp on a test haha.. yet the itch needs to be scratched!!

I’m glad you’re positive about testing- it’s so frustrating and disheartening but at the same time you know where you are at with it which is good. I was looking at an at home test in boots today for £40.. it was a male analysis one. Wondering whether to buy it and just see! Xx

No probs!

It’s in the settings, you can do different detectors. If you go to detector/override settings, you can choose which setting to go with. I typically use advanced (recommended), but as I had a peak smiley face on a CB advanced ovulation test, it did suggest changing to OPK setting. It essentially put the ovulation line in, but hasn’t given crosshairs as my Temps don’t fall in line with ovulation yet.

This is my test without.

No I agree, testing is more stress than it’s worth im taking a step back next month!

Weve bought the exseed one from Amazon, it’s usually £89 but it’s on the prime day deals for £67. It looks to be a good test, I haven’t seen the boots ones but this one does count, volume and movement. I would say to look into it to compare what the boots one does as this one suggests it’s the best at home test on the market (equally this could just be marketing I’ve fallen for!)

Ahh thank you so much for this!! I use the clear blue advanced ovulation test too, but I also use the standard OPK’s I keep finding my clear blue seems to jump the gun and give me peak before my OPK’s even turn positive! This month my “peak” on an OPK was over 48hrs after my peak on Clear Blue, so I never know which is more reliable but my temps this month confirmed ovulation for 2 days after my OPK peak which was 4 days after my clear blue peak smiley showed not the 2 it should be. Do you find yours doesn’t always match up? X

Ah, this makes a lot of sense. I have never used the CB tests prior to this cycle. I have used regular OPK’s alongside it though. I am yet to actually see a clear cut positive OPK. I feel anyway! I used Mommed for most of the cycle and feel they’re slightly less sensitive. I usually use easy @ home OPK’s and I find them quite clear. A lot of the Mommed tests were difficult to interpret (to my eyes). So I can’t say about them not matching up, as I’m a complete novice to this! This is my first cycle with dedicated tracking since CD1. Last cycle was a 1/2 way through dedicated tracking for the most part. I’m learning as I go!

Me too!! I feel like if I had no idea about the testing I’d be so much less stressed🤣 not sure about your OH but mine literally is so unphased and relaxed that tbh he’s probably chill enough for the both of us.. so I guess I make up the stress for both of us 😂😂

I wish I was one of them women who can feel ovulation.. don’t get me wrong I do get the EWCM but other than that I don’t get many other symptoms, definitely not consistently anyway and I’ve been tracking my cycle for about a year using BBT (not LH that’s a very new thing to me)

Me and you both that’s probably why I’m reading so much into things! I just wondered if you’d had a similar experience. I use the wondfo ovulation strips, they’re cheaper than the easy at home, I’ve had no problems with them but I may give the easy at home a try if I run out of these before I get a BFP!

All we can do 😌. I am a nightmare for being hyperaware. Second guessing everything, looking up as much as I can to try and make it something positive 😂. Crazy. I will see how my next few cycles go! Maybe I will see some correlations as time goes on. I have PCOS, so my LH surges can be all over the place at the best of times.
I’ve used the E@H tests for years. I rate them! I find them the clearest for me, with my surges. Fingers crossed for the BFP first though! 🤞🏼💕

Honestly since starting this ttc journey I’ve never used Google so much in my life!! If I was to show someone my search history they’d think I was a crazy lady! 😂 between googling things that are absolutely NOT pregnancy symptoms and trying to make them pregnancy symptoms and peeing on sticks I don’t know how I passed my time previously as it has well and truly taken over my life 😂. It’s so unhealthy that I probably shouldn’t joke, but now I’m onto a new cycle I’ve vowed to tone it down and be more relaxed 🤣.. let’s see if that happens!

JW24M · 08/10/2024 21:13

@LetstalkaboutBruno @KT199 reading your messages is like talking to myself 😂😂 I am such an obsessive character and get hyper-focused on things easily.. I need to keep reminding myself LH & pregnancy tests aren’t free! Lord knows i’ve probably spent over £200 in the last 3 months!

My OH is just apprehensive - however this month it’s really clicked and he’s like ‘this is important’ and wants to learn about the charts etc haha.

@LetstalkaboutBruno which cycle are you on if you don’t mind me asking? Can’t recall if you’ve mentioned it. xx

@KT199 yuuup, it’s a steel learning curve! Especially when you are looking at progesterone vs hcg. Optimal lining and how to boost lining. Embryo development and implantation rates/chances. Supplements. It’s a whole world!! Ha, I am so deep that I don’t even kid myself any longer!

@JW24M I am way deep into this TTC stuff. Officially, second cycle TTC without medical intervention. I have PCOS and never ovulated so no periods/cycles. I am between IVF clinics after moving. I am 14 years into TTC, 4 years into ART. I have had two full rounds of IVF and 5 embryos transfers with all of them resulting in early losses (one may have been a run of indents, but four were definitely early losses). I’ve been through recurrent miscarriage screening too. This was all after Letrozole which was a miserable fail. Miraculously, I started having my own cycles earlier in the year. I am now on my third cycle independent of any medication (other than Levothyroxine). My independent cycles started at over 100 days, my last was 93. So they’re getting shorter!! 🫶🏼. I live in hope and optimism daily. Crazy, right?!

Aw that’s really nice though!! We’ve had a few conversations and he now knows what my peak is and when’s best to “try”. We’ve both started taking conception vitamins and this month we’re adding the COQ10 to see if that helps things. He’s trying to make adjustments but we did have a convo the other week where he told me he was going to sauna and in the hot tub daily at the gym and I was like 😬😳 not to ruin your fun.. but.. that needs to stop whilst we’re ttc 😭 he thought I was crazy till he did some googling for himself! He’s now also bought some cotton boxers and has started wearing them bless him 🤣

Ah, you are so sweet! Thank you. Everyone’s story is so unique and each person/couple working to the same end goal will their own aspect's that are challenging. If it’s difficult for you, one month or one decade in, then it’s difficult. Your perspectives change and shift, your outlook differs day to day when you have been doing it for a long time. There have been many days where I am beyond seething with the world. I’m tired of TTC, maybe that’s why I feel differently today. That changes though, it’s not a set in stone emotion. Most days I stick two fingers up to life. 😂.

I think TTC is utter bullshit and I don’t understand why can’t just make a baby when we decide. Infertility is rotten. Wouldn’t wish it upon my enemy.

Thank you, I hope you have your BFP very soon too 🤞🏼💕

JW24M · 08/10/2024 22:01

@LetstalkaboutBruno my goodness, i I re-iterate what @KT199 said - I feel so awful for feeling grumbles on my second TTC month. I think naturally I get so caught up and almost overwhelmed with appreciation for the advice people offer me, I can sometimes forget the journey others are on. I think your body is incredible for becoming regular of its own accord! I cannot imagine the heartache you have felt, but your positivity is so admirable. Here’s hoping your luck is in soon 🤞🏽🤞🏽

@KT199 my OH has started on the old ‘baggy boxers’ which cracks me up. He’s also going to the gym more and eating better! I just hope my body can do it for the both of us!

I’m off to sleep - nice chatting with you gals xx
