TTC after loss part 5

Ella31 · 04/08/2024 18:18

Just continuing our old thread. I've added anyone who has asked to stay on here. As always, anyone who is trying after a loss is welcome to join and those who have been lucky since are welcome to encourage those who are still waiting for their rainbow (if you want to stay of course )

Also for the next thread, I'm going to let someone else take over creating the new one if people don't mind. I've a lot on at the moment with tests and I'm back to work in the next few weeks after my bereavement leave with my boys. So if anyone would like to take the mantle, feel free.

Im 2dpo today and have another ultrasound on Wednesday to see if follicle has burst followed by pdg blood test.

Hi @Blueskies4 how did the private tests go? Hope it’s helped to give a bit of a plan of action for you

Blueskies4 · 20/10/2024 16:33

@Figtree11 well in the sense that they found things to be working on, but equally that’s frustrating including the pausing TTC when all you want to do is crack on.. I have issues with my immune system/NK cells and I’m trying to address them through diet and lifestyle changes.

How're you doing xx

Figtree11 · 20/10/2024 18:01

@Blueskies4 it feels like catch 22 doesn’t it. Don’t want any issues to be found, but at the same time if an issue is found, hopefully something positive can then be done. Fingers crossed for a good cycle in November for you.
I’m ok thank you - still not got a regular cycle after my last loss in May. But I’m 9dpo today and not feeling remotely hopeful. But I have my recurrent miscarriage appt in 5 weeks time

CadoAvo · 21/10/2024 09:45

Morning all. 7dpo today (or maybe 8 🤷🏼‍♀️) and my boobs feel very sensitive this morning! The only time I felt this before was my first pregnancy (but not till about 12dpo) however never noticed it at all in my second...

Hoping it's a positive sign 🤞🏼

How's everyone getting on?

Jologi · 21/10/2024 10:18

Hi all

I was 13 weeks when we found out our baby had DS with a serious heart condition, we were advise to terminate at 15 weeks which broke our hearts. I have two children from a previous relationship and this would have been my husbands first. However our dream was shattered.
I had the termination the on the 12th August and my first cycle was on 21st September. We wanted to start trying again and monitored my ovulation date varied on the FLO and prenom apps, so we did the deed on both. It’s been 31 days no AF and I have had two negative pregnancy, is anyone in the same situation? Is it normal for your cycle to differ after a loss?

CadoAvo · 21/10/2024 10:38

@Jologi so sorry for your loss. It's completely normal for cycles to take some time to regulate after a loss so don't panic and just take things day by day. ❤️

Figtree11 · 21/10/2024 10:51

@CadoAvo have everything crossed for you those are positive signs!
I’m 10dpo but not really any symptoms. Every now & then I have mild stomach ache but that’s it. Just waiting for AF to show by end of the week

@Jologi I am so sorry for your loss, it’s heartbreaking. Completely normal to take a while to regulate, I’ve not had the same length cycle each time yet

Superscientist · 21/10/2024 10:54

Hi @CadoAvo I'm about 8dpo too. I'm trying not to symptom check... I had done tender boobs last month that turned out to be nothing. My stomach is a bit gurgly and feels funny but probably just gas!
I feel into early tests last month which is not my usual habit so trying not to overthink this month.

I hope the sensitive boobs are a positive for you!

CadoAvo · 21/10/2024 11:14

@Figtree11 thank you, really hoping you get some positive news soon too 🤞🏼

@superscientist thanks! When are you testing? I'm a poas addict, was going to test on Wednesday however I absolutely will be testing later when I next need a pee as this is so unusual for me. I'm usually okay at now overthinking things such as a funny feeling in my stomach or when I "crave" ready salted crisps (just means I'm hungry, not pregnant lol) however this feeling in my boobs is very unusual and I can't not notice it sitting at my desk, wfh means I've already spent a lot of time this morning groping myself and looking at them in the mirror lol

Jologi · 21/10/2024 11:37

@CadoAvo Oh really? I read somewhere that fertility is higher afterward and there is more chance of conceiving. Well will have to watch this space lol

CadoAvo · 21/10/2024 11:42

Jologi · 21/10/2024 11:37

Yeah I've heard that too, after a loss you have a higher chance of conceiving. My second pregnancy was conceived straight after my first loss. However cycles can still take time to regulate. You should still ovulate but it might be at a different point than normal. My losses were both 1st trimester so not sure if things are different with a 2nd trimester loss.

Superscientist · 21/10/2024 12:41

Sorry I missed your posts @Joleyjojo mine was sat unsent for a while and I didn't refresh the page

I'm sorry that your little one had a heart defect. The world is cruel, my uncle was born with a heart defect and died in childhood. My gran went on to have my mum and auntie with issues. They believe his heart defect was caused by my gran contracting rubella.

I had a miscarriage at the start of August at 10 weeks. My period returned after 4 weeks and the second 4 weeks later so I went straight back into my normal cycle. It took 3 weeks for my HCG to drop to baseline again. I don't know if that plays any role in your bodies recovery.

@CadoAvo I'm going to do my best and wait until 2-5 days late. With my daughter and my miscarriage I tested at 5 days late and I think for me waiting was less stressful than getting negatives that may or may not be because I tested too early. I took my last test the morning I was due on and started bleeding during the 3 minute wait. I kicked myself for wasting a test. If I had an hours more patience I could have saved myself some money!

CadoAvo · 21/10/2024 16:08

So I tested today because I have no control 😂 I'm 7dpo and it wasn't even FMU (yes I'm unhinged lol).

It was a BFN within the time frame. However, as I normally do, I kept the test to keep revisiting it. I know this makes it invalid however now it's dry there is definitely a line albeit veryyyyyy faint. So I'll keep my fingers crossed and see how things are over the next few days. If nothing else, it's nice to have a little bit of hope today. My boobs are still unusually sensitive.

Superscientist · 21/10/2024 16:19

That has made me chuckle, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! @CadoAvo

PearlCat · 21/10/2024 17:26

Hey,
Sorry to jump on this thread.
Been watching this thread a little bit tried to have a bit of an internet break for a while over the summer. Really needing to reach out for some advice this past couple of weeks though. It's approaching what would have been my due date from my loss in March and I'm just feeling pretty terrible.. looks like my period will arrive on the day and I have a terrible cold to add to it. Alongside that, yet another family member has gotten pregnant straight away. I just don't know how to not blame myself anymore. Guess I'm just wanting to vent, or ask for some tips on getting through significant dates.. xx

Figtree11 · 21/10/2024 17:31

@CadoAvo I really hope it’s the start of something for you!
@Superscientist also hope you have good news this month
@PearlCat i just replied to your other thread, but didn’t want to ignore you on here. I really am sorry you are struggling. It’s such a tough time

Blueskies4 · 21/10/2024 19:13

@Figtree11 it sucks when your cycle is out of whack. Glad you have an appointment and hopefully you can get some answers - is that with Tommys or the NHS? Xx

Figtree11 · 21/10/2024 19:32

Thanks @Blueskies4 It’s with Tommys, in conjunction with the nhs I think. I’ve heard really good things about Tommys so I’m hoping they can help. Even feeling like I have some support if I get pregnant makes me feel better and that I won’t be suffering by myself

Blueskies4 · 22/10/2024 07:53

@Figtree11 ah that’s really good, I’ve had a Tommys appointment too :) hope it goes well for you xx

I’m so sorry you’re going through this it sounds incredibly hard. Im dreading getting to the due date, I’m sure it’s very common. I don’t really have any advice, other than in the days following my miscarriage we went to the sea and went on a really long walk. For some reason it made me feel like she was near and was comforting that day. Sending you the biggest hug.

DonnaWhat · 22/10/2024 19:23

@CadoAvo I have everything crossed for you that you see 2 lines in the time frame in a couple of days. 🤞

@Figtree11 How are you? Where are you in your cycle? Are you playing it by ear or tracking? Just thought I'd jump on and check in 🥰

@PearlCat No advice really other than to say vent away. We have all been there and understand how you're feeling. With regards to significant dates, just take some self love of yourself and remember them. Light a candle 🕯 go for a walk. Just do what you feel is right and even if that's just a duvet day on the couch then that's fine too.

Figtree11 · 22/10/2024 19:31

@Blueskies4 thank you, I feel grateful they will see me after 2 MCs to hopefully get some answers

@DonnaWhat lovely to hear from you, how are you getting on?
I’m CD45/11dpo today. I wasn’t tracking until I noticed some ovulation signs & so started testing & luckily caught the surge. But I’m not feeling very hopeful. But on the whole I am doing ok - feeling less down than I was, I guess time really is a healer

@CadoAvo have you tested today?

DonnaWhat · 22/10/2024 19:49

@Figtree11 did you manage to get some baby dancing in? I'm OK, I've been getting the odd day bleeding but all is OK, they can't find the source for it. Just "one of those things" apparently. I do stay in the background and see what you're all upto. I hope you aren't waiting too much longer. Xxx.

Figtree11 · 22/10/2024 19:55

@DonnaWhat we did, so fingers crossed it’s worked. But I just don’t have a good feeling about it this cycle. But maybe that’s for the best, as my recurrent miscarriage appt is in 4 weeks.
I’m sorry about the bleeding, it’s so disconcerting when that happens. Glad all is well though. How many weeks are you now? Lovely of you to check in

DonnaWhat · 22/10/2024 20:30

@Figtree11 I'm 14 weeks tomorrow. Even if it's not this month, there will be a fresh slate next week and I hope that the clinic can help get you some help for your rainbow. You'll have to keep us posted. I know your cycles are super long but you will get there. I just feel it xxxx
