TTC after loss part 5

Ella31 · 04/08/2024 18:18

Just continuing our old thread. I've added anyone who has asked to stay on here. As always, anyone who is trying after a loss is welcome to join and those who have been lucky since are welcome to encourage those who are still waiting for their rainbow (if you want to stay of course )

Also for the next thread, I'm going to let someone else take over creating the new one if people don't mind. I've a lot on at the moment with tests and I'm back to work in the next few weeks after my bereavement leave with my boys. So if anyone would like to take the mantle, feel free.

Im 2dpo today and have another ultrasound on Wednesday to see if follicle has burst followed by pdg blood test.

@Superscientist I totally get you. I’m also entering my fertile window, it looks like it will be the first vaguely normal cycle following the last MMC surgery at the end of April. The ovulation pain is torturing me and I both do and don’t want to TTC. Colleagues all complaining at work about non-sleeping toddlers while I don’t have that problem. Still, it’s a nice problem to have 🤷

Superscientist · 13/09/2024 18:42

Thanks @Figtree11 and @CurlyWurly1991

It's funny you mention the non sleeping toddler. A non sleeping 4 yo is part of the reason we are knackered. The combination of starting school, an allergic reaction and the weather turning cold has meant my daughter hasn't slept that well and has woken up early wanting to go to school. She pulled the duvet off me and my bed at 7 this morning I don't have to get up until 7.20 and I know it's only 20 minutes but that's where I get my energy for the nonessential stuff especially by the time it's Friday!

I think also part of is not wanting to start with regimented sex. We haven't done it like that previously and have just gone with the mood and it's all worked out ok. I'm trying to be patient and not get obsessive because I do have that tendency with life. I have some time to myself this evening once the little person is in bed. I might get some self care stuff out and see if that nurtures the soul and my libedo!

How are you both doing?

Ladyinpink1 · 13/09/2024 20:53

@moosey89 congratulations on the job, that's great news for you! Will this job have the sane kind of opportunities for travelling? x

@Figtree11 I'm with you on feeling down, how are you feeling now tonight?

I decided to test today and it was negative which means I'm going to be going onto cycle 15 ttc since the last loss and now 2 years ttc. I just got my hopes up again, as I always seem to, I feel like I am doing everything right but it just isn't happening. x
Sorry too @CadoAvo that's really good you have a nice manager that notices you (I love your
username by the way, I am a big advacado fan 😊)
Pregnancy bumps and
announcements are the worst. x

I got an appointment through to see a consultant gynecologist, apparently after the recurrent miscarriage tests if you are over 35 you go to see her (another reminder of my grand old age of 36 lol) Has anyone else went for one of these appointments? If so, what happened at it please?

Figtree11 · 13/09/2024 22:22

@Superscientist oh yes, the regimented sex is a mood killer. We’ve enjoyed the break this week with AF rearing its ugly head 😂

@Ladyinpink1 i’m sorry you are in the same feeling fed up boat. I feel a little better this evening thank you. DP gets me flowers for birthdays etc, but I’ve never had a bunch spontaneously, but today he came home with a bunch of flowers for me to cheer me up, and it did work!
I’m sorry you had a negative test today. It’s like a punch to the gut, and never gets easier.
I don’t have any experience of the gynaecologist I’m afraid - did any potential issues come up from your recurrent miscarriage tests, or was there no cause found?

moosey89 · 13/09/2024 22:24

@Ladyinpink1 thank you - I hope so, they run international events, first big one I'll be working on the marketing for will be Dubai in January, wouldn't say no to that! 😂

Mummysparrow · 14/09/2024 10:00

I am currently 8dpo and going stir crazy. Did a FRER earlier as I couldn't stop myself and gave myself line eyes staring at it but it is of course negative at this early. Going to hold off testing again until Monday

Ttc and Pregnancy after loss will never be the same ladies. And although I lost my sons unexpectedly at the end. Seeing their journey every scan after two losses before conceiving them gave me such strength and hope. Despite everything I don't regret a thing regarding their short lives. I know in time you'll all have that hope and joy too. Hope you are doing ok today.

Hi all, can I join? Currently 1dpo of 1st month ttc after having 1 miscarriage in December after 12 weeks and another at 8 weeks in April which was a partial molar pregnancy.
Only now that we both feel ready to try again and I am terrified of it either just not happening or it happening and something going wrong again.
We had genetic testing done on our molar pregnancy and have just also recieved a letter to get a blood test for karyotyping because it showed mosaicism for trisomy 3 which could be due to non-parental genetic rearrangement so that's another little worry with it all.

Figtree11 · 15/09/2024 13:59

Hi @NphysT sorry you find yourself here. Your story sounds very similar to mine. I had a MMC in November at 10 weeks, followed by a partial molar pregnancy in April at 12 weeks. I’ve not had genetic testing though

Ladyinpink1 · 15/09/2024 17:34

@Figtree11 Thank you. That's really nice, I love "just because" flowers. Yes, my recurrent miscarriage tests all came back normal and my GP hormone tests came back normal and also confirmed I am ovulating so it's all good news but also frustrating because I can do nothing to help change it. I feel better now too, and I always feel good about ttc in the autumn time as it's our wedding anniversary and so more romantic moments and hopefully more relaxed eggs and sperm lol, I have concived this time of year twice so here's hoping! x

@moosey89 That will be such a hardship having to go there 😂 It's so nice getting to have those experiences as a part of work x

Sorry was a bfn @Mummysparrow hoping tomorrow brings better news x

@NphysT hi, I recognise your name from a previous thread, sorry you are here again and I'm really sorry you gave had another loss x

Mummysparrow · 15/09/2024 18:15

Let hope most of us get out BFP before Christmas. I plan on doing a FRER in the morning. I had convinced myself that I am pregnant as I had some symptoms but I am no longer sure.
I have a holiday in just under 3 weeks which means if this cycle isn't successful then ovulation will happen when on holiday which isn't great when sharing a room with our 3 year old 😬

Mummysparrow · 16/09/2024 07:46

10dpo and it looks like I am out. I usually get a positive about now if I am in 😭

Sorry @Mummysparrow. I've never had a bfp that early though! When we started trying we were also on holiday with kids and ended up in the bathroom 🥴 not great but it's an option!

It took me having a child to realise why my dad used to always bring us home a VHS when he had been away for a long time!
Enjoy the holiday and I hope you find a way to be creative, if not there's next month x

Mummysparrow · 16/09/2024 10:44

@Superscientist omg I love that 😂😂

CadoAvo · 16/09/2024 12:51

Just an update from me, we are skipping this month as donor is not available. I've made my peace with it and completely understand his reasons. According to my app I should be ovulating on Wednesday but haven't been tracking so trying to "enjoy" being less stressed with a month off.

The fun news is if we try again next cycle in October I should be about 8dpo by the time we leave for our holiday so we can either celebrate in Morocco or commiserate whilst eating, drinking and sunbathing 🥳

Figtree11 · 16/09/2024 20:44

@Ladyinpink1 that’s good that all your tests came back fine. But I can totally see how it’s mega frustrating to not have a clear cut answer. I really hope it’s just a matter of time now until that BFP for you.

@Mummysparrow im sorry it’s a bfn today.

@CadoAvo ive also felt less stressed with TTC this past week while on my period. Even now I know it will be a while til I ovulate & I’ve made peace with that. Fingers crossed it’s a good month in October for you

Can I ask a vitamin/supplement question. I’m currently just taking folic acid, high strength vitamin D and omega 3. I have tried conception vitamins in the past, and last cycle I also tried coq10 as the partial molar is making me worry I’ve bad eggs.
Should I be doing more than the folic acid, vitamin d and omega 3?

Mummysparrow · 16/09/2024 20:50

@Figtree11 I have made a bold jump and just purchased some very expensive vitamins from naître. They are very expensive but the reviews are amazing so decided it is worth it it gets me pregnant in a month or two. I hoping for a better egg quality with the vitamins I have been taking for 4 months.

@Figtree11 I take myoinositol. It regulates my period for and helps me to ovulate, I do have pcos though but may be worth a shot. The powder form from natures best is the only 1 that's worked for me. If you're taking coq10 it will take 3 months for it to take an effect so just keep that in mind. I think same goes for a lot of vitamins/supplements that can improve egg quality

Figtree11 · 17/09/2024 06:47

@NphysT thank you, I’d been taking coq10 since May (that’s how long my cycles have been 😆) but had read about them potentially delaying ovulation. No idea if any truth in that. I had thought about myoinositol but don’t have a diagnosis of PCOS so thought i best not try that yet. I have an appt at the Tommys miscarriage clinic in November so perhaps I’ll get some more info then of what to take.
Then I keep thinking of my friend who has taken zero vitamins & has a healthy pregnancy and wonder if there is any truth in supplements!

@Mummysparrow I hope those work for you 🤞🏻

Joleyjojo · 17/09/2024 11:02

Hi I have seen that many of you take Coq10 do you take the ubiquinol or the ubiquinone? I want to start but not sure which one or if there is much difference x

Superscientist · 17/09/2024 12:51

I think I have found myself sandwiched between two pregnant colleagues at the lunch table. 😔

I'm coming to the end of my fertile week, then the wait for my period. My daughter is being a handful this week with starting school adjustments so I'm knackered which is making me a bit emotional.

Superscientist · 17/09/2024 13:02

Colleague has confirmed and she's as far along as I would have been
