Thanks for suggesting that I start this thread - its a real honour. Won't be leaving it yet as am only on cd24, despite getting bfps from the 3 tests I have done today (paranoid or what?!).
Lots and lots of babydust to everyone. If this pg is successful, I will have conceived in the midst of an awful cold so that should give everyone some hope. Lots and lots of hugs.....

Hulababy · 26/01/2005 19:12

No news from me today really. CD29, no AF but temps went down again today - now below cover line So, doesn't look like it is my month again.

Hope one you guys gets lucky this month

Hulababy · 26/01/2005 19:12

Good luck for the scan Geordie

marinda · 26/01/2005 19:16

Soory to bug people but I am seeking despaerate advice for a friend of mine TTC. She measures her temp each day and she says that after OV if you are pg the temp stays high ! Does anyone know if this is true ?

Her temps have fallen but only by a bit - but her AF is several days late . Hope someone can help. Thanks ladies.

munnzieb · 26/01/2005 19:18

I thought that was the case Marinda, your temps stayed high at leaast, has she tried to test? would be nice if you're btoh PG together.

Hulababy · 26/01/2005 19:26

Is her temp still abouve her cover line? Temp can drop a bit - but generally not below the cover line if pg. Although it can drop and then rise again - implantation time I think.

If her AF is so late, could she not test?

RudyDudy · 26/01/2005 19:31

Marinda - fantastic news!!!! Congratulations!! Do keep popping in to see us and definitely keep showering the babydust around!

RudyDudy · 26/01/2005 19:35

Hulababy - I feel properly told off - are you sure you don't want to carry on teaching . I don't even feel vaguely pg so NO IDEA why I even tested. Will try and wait until Saturday now as was quite depressing to get a BFN. How are you holding out? How many dpo are you?

marinda · 26/01/2005 19:40

Thanks for advice Munzie and Hula - will inform my fiend and tell her to test. Feel a right fool as so convinced I WASN'T PG that I am lost for words- joined the due sept thread as think DD is 29th of month. Will pop back take care !!!! Hula here is some babydust for winning the pact out of the 3 of us.

Oh rudy - I ill keep practising the telling off bit anyway just in case Even if not on here - DH and DD will do as practise subjects

sparkly · 27/01/2005 08:12

You lot are hard to keep up with! Sorry, I've been away with work and haven't been able to get online much at all apart from boring work emails! Miranda - congrats - that's great news.

No news here - day 13 today but given last month's longer cycle, I'm convinced I must have O'd late. Actually seeing DP this weekend so will make the most of our time together! This is the part where he doesn't complain unlike the part at the end of the cycle where I'm a testing lunatic.

A good friend of mine had a baby on Monday. She was 3 weeks early, only weighed in at 4lbs2ozs. Please keep them in your thoughts as she's in neo-natal care. Things are improving though which is good. They also have a SN 2 year old who, they recently found out, will probably only live until he's 3-4 owing to a genetic condition. It's very sad, but they're amazing people and cope remarkably well.

Wishing everyone lots of luck who may be testing soon ...

pickledonion · 27/01/2005 08:20

CD24 HERE - so changes here at all apart from the spilting headache i can't get rid of.

Hope you are all well?

BellaLasagne · 27/01/2005 09:33

Oh Sparkly, I'm praying the little ones make it .

Jeddah, honey, what an awful Dr! I don't know how he could get away with being so awful to you both . I agree with everyone else, couldn't you get a second opinion from somewhere? Is your GP sympathetic - can they help? How much would it cost to have a private gynae consultation (seeing as time is of the essence)?

Sorry to bombard you, but I think once you're over the initial shock you need to act fairly quickly.

(((((hugs))))) to you both,

BL (Wifeof) xx

cockenzie · 27/01/2005 09:37

hi girls

Miranda or MP if you have charted your temp, would you mind emailing me your chart pls?
the First Response does it detect it from 1st day of period or mayb earlier on?

munnzieb · 27/01/2005 09:38

sparkly - your poor friends, I will def include them in my usual prays in the mornings.

Cockenzie - FR is 3 days b4 AF is due I think, are you hopeful this month?

cockenzie · 27/01/2005 09:39

Sparkly, so sorry to hear about those news!! i do hope the little one condition will improve and will have a lovely life.Nodody deserves that. Please make him better!!

cockenzie · 27/01/2005 09:43

well munzieb, i read what the girls said in earlier posts about the temp.since ov, i only had one drop below line and since then its staied above line. Now, i dont know if b/feeding gives me a late cycle or stops my bleeding this month or am i having a cycle without af? i dont know if thats possible.i am 5 days from CD40.still not one spot of blood.all i have is discharge.did 2 'answer' and bfp but did 'clearblue' which i trust more (mayb better reputation) but was bfn.i will buy another one today, like an early test.did read leaflet of clearblue, that says if its early days, stik wont detect hormon as it will be too low. so I DONT KNOW!!!

munnzieb · 27/01/2005 09:46

you had two bfp? (what test was it?)

cockenzie · 27/01/2005 09:53

'answer'.i bought it in pharmacie but the lines were kind of diluted.i did first stik and thought i was hallucinating.so asked dp to do the 2nd stick and he saw again 2 lines.but he doesnt trust then and says they are rubbish becos they are cheap £5 for 2 stiks. so we did the clearblue and both stiks came out neg.

munnzieb · 27/01/2005 10:00

i'd wait a few days, and see again, could just be that it's v early into it all. so get a first responce one and wait until sat. (if you can) I didn't think you could have false positives thou.

cockenzie · 27/01/2005 10:05

cheers munnzieb

munnzieb · 27/01/2005 10:12

np hon, just don't forget to let us know how you get on.

RudyDudy · 27/01/2005 13:06

Sparkly so for your friend and their little ones. Will send them all my positive thoughts for the coming weeks and months.

RudyDudy · 27/01/2005 13:11

Cockenzie - that does sound promising. Not sure you could get a false positive even if the test is cheap. As munnzie says you could always try a First Response test. Wasn't clear about when AF is due - is it 5 days? I think that First Response is from 2 or 3 days before. If you can hold out testing until the weekend do that but please test Saturday morning as I am away in the afternoon for a week and I want to know before I go!!!

No news here. CD33 so probably 12dpo but have very bad endo pain which I am presuming is not a good sign. Am now thinking that I will have to have another lap and am bothered about waiting 8 months for it. Don't know whether to go private and get it over and done with - at least that way I would know for certain what was happening - I hate the not knowing. But then I think that it is a lot of money and I should be more patient. As you can tell I'm doing my head in a bit so sorry for the rambling.

On a lighter note my exams are now OVER . So it's a weeks holiday for me! Hopefully got an hour before DS wakes up so off to watch Desperate Housewives I recorded from last night!

munnzieb · 27/01/2005 13:45

i've got another joke for you girls (my mate's working overtime keeping all these coming! lol) Also am I weird, althou i'd be happy with just one baby, I really really want twins, (they run in our family, both maternal and paternal so is there any thing I can do to increase the chances?) - I know i'm not ment to be tryin so hard thou, but it's hard asfter so long (a whole 9 months of it!)

The Smiths were unable to conceive children, and decided to use a surrogate father to start their family. On the day the proxy ather was to arrive, Mr.Smith kissed his wife and said, "I'm off. The man should be here soon".

Half an hour later, just by chance, a door-to-door baby photographer rang the doorbell, hoping to make a sale.

"Good morning madam. I've come to......"

"Oh, no need to explain. I've been expecting you," Mrs. Smith cut in.

"Really?" the photographer asked. "Well, good! I've made a specialty of babies."

"That's what my husband and I had hoped. Please come in and have a seat."

After a moment she asked, blushing, "Well, where do we start?"

"Leave everything to me. I usually try two in the bathtub, one on the couch and perhaps a couple on the bed. Sometimes the living room floor is fun too....you can really spread out!"

"Bathtub, living room floor? No wonder it didn't work for Harry and me."

"Well, madam, none of us can guarantee a good one every time. But if we try several different positions and I shoot from six or seven angles, I'm sure you'll be pleased with the results."

"My, my, that's a lot of ..! ! ." gasped Mrs. Smith.

"Madam, in my line of work, a man must take his time. I'd love to be in and out in five minutes, but you'd be disappointed with that, I'm sure."

"Don't I know it," Mrs. Smith muttered. The photographer opened his briefcase and pulled out a portfolio of his baby pictures.

"This was done on the top of a bus."

"Oh my god!!" Mrs. Smith exclaimed, tugging at her handkerchief.

"And these twins turned out exceptionally well, when you consider their mother was so difficult to work with."

"She was difficult?" asked Mrs. Smith.

"Yes, I'm afraid so. I finally had to take her to the park to get the job done right. People were crowding around four and five deep, pushing to get a good look."

"Four and five deep?" asked Mrs. Smith, eyes widened in amazement.

"Yes," the photographer said. "And for more than three hours, too. The mother was constantly squealing and yelling I could hardly concentrate! Then darkness approached and I began to rush my shots. Finally, when the squirrels began nibbling on my equipment, I just packed it all in."

Mrs. Smith leaned forward. "You mean they actually chewed on your um...equipment ?"

"That's right. Well, madam, if you're ready, I'll set up my tripod so that we can get to work"

"Tripod??

"Oh yes, I have to use a tripod to rest my Canon on. It's much too big for me to hold for very long. Madam? Madam? ...Good Lord, she's fainted!...

Hulababy · 27/01/2005 19:14

CD30, 14DPO for me. Temp went down again though - but not under cover line yet - getting there though my chart No AF yet, but did notice some extremely light spotting last night. Nothing since yet. Must be on it's way soon though.
