Hi ladies!
CD 1 for me today, so I’m moving over from the July thread and starting this one (don’t think there is already one).
Anyone else now ttc for a BFP in August??

@OliveTraybake we’re on similar timeframes! According to my Natural Cycles app I’m between 4-6dpo. Every day feels like forever doesn’t it! I’m off work this week too which has given me more time to think about everything. I’m away for the next few days so that should be a good distraction. I’m trying to wait until Sunday to do my first test.

I’ve ordered some tests today and going to do my first Sunday too! Hopefully a trip away will distract and make time pass quicker. Let me know how you get on Sunday x

I've taken the Premom early at home OPK's yesterday and today and my readings are really low, 0.04 and 0.02, has anyone had readings this low and if so at what part of their cycle?

FlyWren · 01/08/2024 09:20

I got my solid smiley face on the digital ovulation tests today! Which is day 14! I'm very excited as I have been ovulating day 19/20 but AF arriving on day 27. So I'm really hoping this month I have ovulated early enough for implantation to actually happen rather than AF kicking everyone out early 😅 only downside is husband currently has a chest infection so I don't know how pleased he is going to be when I tell him he is going to have to put some work in today and tomorrow 🤣

Why does the TWW feel so long? I’m 6dpo and it’s been the longest six days of my life!

any tips to make time pass?
I’ve started planning a trip that I’ll book if it’s not a successful month for me. So by the end of this month I’ll either have another holiday to look forward to or be pregnant!

That was what I did too! And I timed it that we were away during O week 😂 this cycle if it doesn’t happen I said I’d book myself a Botox appointment 🤣

MoreCoffeePlzz · 01/08/2024 10:08

Hiya, I'm new and looking to join please! Just started TTC this month, we already have a beautiful 16mo girl but feel ready for more! I'm still breastfeeding so expecting TTC to take a while, cycles only returned in May and still all over the shop. Currently cd24 and not ovulated yet (was expecting it cd23 based on previous month) but was only able to dtd on Tuesday before DH had to go away with work until Friday so a bit unsure if we'll be out this month unless I ovulate later, hate not knowing when to expect ovulation!! Glad to have a little community here though and wishing us all baby dust xxx

I had this last cycle 😂 AF was due 3 days before my birthday so I was like if I'm out at least I can have a few cocktails!!
It's nice to have something to look forward to incase AF does arrive x

I do think it’s the only way I’ll get through this ttc process! Gifts to myself each time if I get a BFN!! I see it as being free money too bcos it’s an extra month I’ll be at work on full salary for every month I’m not pregnant 🤣🤣

How interesting!! My AF is due four days before my birthday this month! Fingers crossed for you this month 💗💗

@OliveTraybake I love the logic, that's going to be my excuse now 😂
Ahh fingers crossed for a birthday BFP!!

Hello everyone, please could I join this thread?

It's August 1st, and we are starting the first month of trying for a baby. My husband and I are both 36, and children have just been a distant 'maybe one day' thing, however recently we are beginning to realise that we don't have forever and even though we don't feel remotely 'ready', that maybe we'd better bite the bullet and start trying.

I came off the pill in 2022 after developing a DVT, and although it took a good year, my cycles are really regular. We have just been using condoms since then. I track my periods every month using the flo app, and according to that my ovulation date will be 5th August.

For now our plan is just to have unprotected sex without actively trying really hard/getting obsessed.

Theres a part of me thathopes it doesn't happen straight away as Id like to lose a bit of weight first. I'd already be a high risk pregnancy with my DVT history, so would rather not add to that with an obese BMI!

Looking forward to chatting with you all :)

I have 0.01-0.1 range - Both before and after ovulation. So few days before and day after onwards. Do you know where in the cycle you are? If it’s your first time, and if you have enough, I would test twice a day (eg 10am, 7pm) and just keep testing until you get a peak. Well you might get a period instead if you started after ovulation.

I have added a photo of mine. I stop testing a day after the peak though.

@Blue2020 thank you this is so helpful!
AF was due last week so I now have no idea where I am in my cycle anymore, I'm so confused. I ordered two boxes so I will do two a day as you mentioned, thank you!

Do you have the pre mom app? That’s the only way I can figure out if mine are positive, hopefully someone else is better at reading them!

I have tried it before but gave up. I found it a bit tricky to use and was worried I had trapped sperm on the ‘wrong side’ of the cup. It was also messy when taking the cup out! I maybe should have persisted though. I’m intrigued to see how you get on with it!

So I tried ithe ferti-Lily yesterday, and found it fairly easy (although to caveat that I do use a menstrual cup so maybe that’s why?)

This maybe TMI, but I found it impossible to remove with the stem. Instead I reached back until I found the indents on the cup, pinched them to break the seal and then slid it out, and it wasn’t particularly messy.
Who knows if it will actually work, but it makes me feel like I’m doing something to help!

KGeeGee · 01/08/2024 18:39

Ooh also I had a question, I'm currently taking antibiotics for a throat infection. Is this going to affect ovulation does anyone know?

I find it best to scan through an app like premom to tell you numbers x

Moneyworrier123 · 02/08/2024 08:54

Morning everyone, can I join? I am on my 6th cycle and due AF any day now, hoping it doesn’t come but have started feeling the signs 😢 despite having a busy and stressful month I had a good feeling about it this month and feeling a bit down. I know it’s not over until AF arrives though so holding on to a tiny bit of hope.

Woken up with mucus at the back of my throat - 8dpo!! Had a google and a threat from 2015’on another site suggests it could be a pregnancy symptom?? Has anyone heard of this before?

When I was pregnant with my first I had all sorts going on with my throat making it harder to swallow and making me feel nauseous to take my retainer out in a morning.. I guess you're probably still a bit early to test!

blueberrypi27 · 02/08/2024 10:02

I didn’t have any symptoms until I was about 7 weeks with either of mine

How strange, I wonder if there is a link! I won’t be testing yet as I’d drive myself crazy trying to see a line!

I also wear a retainer which is interesting. Wondering if it’s something to do with that!

Thank you. I do have the pre mom app but I’ve found it depends a lot on lighting etc. I’ve had more opks delivered this morning so will test again this afternoon 😄
