Anyone else in a similar position?

Hi, I'm 2dpo 1st time this month I've been monitoring but been trying since Jan for #2.
Monitoring is def harder than the relaxed trying over the last few months. I'm only 2 days in but already working out which day I can test early on 🙈 I'm sure I am imagining my body changing I am sure it's all in my head.

ano24 · 13/06/2024 09:04

@Notawalker hey! I think I'm about same as you (now 3dpo) so can keep eachother company. what changes are you noticing already?

how long did it take you with #1? must be excited to grow your family Smile

OP posts:
Notawalker · 13/06/2024 09:12

That sounds fantastic need some support 😁
I keep noting twinges and slight shooting pains if I move to fast all in lower abdomen area, it feels tighter and fuller down there is that makes any sense, it's not massive changes but doesn't feel normal 🤷🏻 I don't want to get my hopes up thou.
With #1 I stopped taking my pill I was waiting for my withdrawal bleed but it never came ended up doing a test and it was positive, I kind of expected that to happen again but no such luck.

How long have you been trying for?

ano24 · 13/06/2024 09:57

@Notawalker that's a great sign #1 was so quick, sure it won't take you long especially now you're monitoring 🤞 what are you using/doing to track now?

I've literally just started! been talking about it together for a while and agreed this was go time. so here I am on cycle 1 with zero expectations and a million expectations at the same time.

do you remember what symptoms you started getting with your first?

OP posts:
Notawalker · 13/06/2024 10:51

@ano24 I've been using the premom app and ovulation strips, if not successful this cycle I think I will see if I can track my temp too but not sure how that will go as I don't get continuous sleep #1 likes to wake every morning between 4-6 😭 Are you doing any monitoring at all?

I have all my fingers crossed for you, it's exciting and nerve racking at the same time isn't it? So many emotions going through your head.

I think the main one that made me do a test was sore boobs, I can remember been away with my DP and asked him if he turned over in night and elbowed me in the boobs 🙈 I was on the pill for prob 10 year before and I didnt have periods with it so didnt know what to expect.

ano24 · 13/06/2024 20:32

@Notawalker yes I've used some of those too, mainly to see if all seemed ok after coming off the pill after a million years. Couldn't remember a thing about my natural cycle so have found them v useful!

It is exciting but it's also quite surreal, the whole think you're ready but is anyone ever actually ready thing. And then will it even happen, easily or at all! But fingers crossed all works out as it should 🤞

Everyone says sore boobs don't they, which I'm dreading tbh as I already get that joy anyway towards end of most cycles. Sat here typing this right now with a sensitive left (specifically!) boob 😆

@ano24 oh no hopefully it will be a good sign 🤞🏻I think I was about 7 weeks when I found out last time so none of this anxiety and waiting 😬

Notawalker · 16/06/2024 07:24

@ano24 how are you getting on? I caved and did a early test this morning totally not expecting anything as I thought it would be nice with it been father's day and tell him there's gonna be another but as predicted it was completely blank which is expected at 6dpo. Will have to wait until the end of the week.

Hey! Would love to join a TWW group. I’m 2DPO on my seventh month TTC our first baby. Have been trying to keep it calm before now and not obsess over it, but it feels like it’s been aaaaages!

Notawalker · 16/06/2024 08:18

Hi @Splishsplashsplosh93 welcome 😁 I know how you feel, we've been trying 6 months now, this is the hardest part for me.
Do you try and distract yourself at all? Would be very interested in knowing how 🙈

There’s only one thing that’s really really helped me stop going down a crazy town rabbit hole and that’s been my Oura ring. Bought it because I’d become temperature obsessed and was gutted when it dropped just before AF. The ring has meant I know exactly when I’ve ovulated and I don’t need to check the temps every day just let it do its thing..

any tips are so welcome as I still find the TWW hard

Notawalker · 16/06/2024 08:56

@Splishsplashsplosh93 oh I will have to try look into them, I don't know how effective it would be as I don't get a constant 3 hours on a night due to #1 and partner been a very light sleeper.
I try to keep myself busy it's mainly the nights when #1 is in bed so I try to do something to help me relax, I have just finished crocheting a cardigan for myself and am busy doing some crochet flowers for a bouquet for #1's nursery workers.

Bless you you must be exhausted! I've been doing yoga, meditation, all the things to keep me sane and thinking that everything will come when it's supposed to- crocheting sounds similar a way to calm your mind - flowers sound lovely ☺️

How long were you TTC with DC1?

Notawalker · 16/06/2024 09:22

@Splishsplashsplosh93 it definitely calms me, got through some tough times with it.
With #1 didn't try very long I came off my pill and was waiting for my withdrawal bleed but it never came so almost instantly I kinda hoped this time round would be the same but 6 months in ...

ano24 · 16/06/2024 20:56

Hello! Aw sorry to hear about the negative @Notawalker but yes definitely doesn't mean anything as so early, there's still time. How are you feeling, any symptom spotting?

I'm doing ok! Got quite a lot on to distract me at the moment so not making me too anxious or anything. Feel a bit crap but think it's more likely down to other things given only around 6dpo.

And welcome @Splishsplashsplosh93 👋 exciting it's #1, do many of your friends have kids?

OP posts:
Notawalker · 16/06/2024 21:06

@ano24 still the same tbh especially round abdomen still feeling a bit uncomfortable and little niggles but nothing else new everything still crossed for this month, roll on the end of the week.
It's definitely easier to not think about it when your busy

Notawalker · 17/06/2024 08:44

So trying not to read anything into this but for yesterday and so far I keep going queasy it takes me a few mins to feel ok again but has happened a few times - knowing me I will have caught a bug from a kids party 🤣

Thank you 😀

Yes we are surrounded by pregnant people and new babies, which is so lovely but also sometimes hard when you see other people giving birth when you thought you’d be there by now.

I find it super hard not to put life on hold when TTC - booking holiday etc. any tips?

Notawalker · 19/06/2024 08:38

Hey! Definitely keep the hope, you're still early.

All good over here, feel like crap really but always do by this point of my cycle! Lots of symptoms but nothing that different to usual. Only thing that's maybe new is q a lot of cm last few days. Google tells me that could be a good thing...

Any other symptoms other than the nausea for you?

OP posts:
Notawalker · 19/06/2024 20:58

@ano24 that Def does sound good :) 🤞🏻
no others still getting the uncomfortable feeling in abdomen and feeling bloated.

When do you think you will test? I can not seem to help myself 🙈

ano24 · 19/06/2024 21:44

@Notawalker me too so bloated! I've felt and looked enormous since ovulation.

I probably won't test for quite a while until really feel like there's a reason to. My cycles are quite long and never usually the same, longest one this year was 35 days so would prob first test around day 36 if still nothing, so that's next week. Boring I know!

Will you be testing daily do you think? Will have my fingers crossed for you!

OP posts:
Notawalker · 19/06/2024 22:00

@ano24 the bloating! I feel like I'm walking round sticking my stomach out 🙈 so glad I WFH
Your so good I have no will power, I tell myself I'm not testing then I find it in my hand like magic ✨ it also doesnt help that instead of ordering a big pack of ovulation strips I ordered HCG tests instead so there just sat there.
AF is due Monday so we will see fingers crossed for you too

ano24 · 20/06/2024 08:30

@Notawalker only because it's my very first go, I'm sure my impatience will grow over the months!

And to be fair I would also be more likely to test if I had some of those, kind of wish I had bought them now as cost of testing until I'm pretty sure is another deterrent right now!

But sad as I've worked up today feeling different, like AF will be here any minute, so think I could be out this month... will report back.

OP posts:
Notawalker · 20/06/2024 21:05

Fingers crossed it doesn't, your not put until it arrives. I haven't had any symptoms today, will carry on waiting to see what happens x
