Currently TTC number 2 and struggling after getting pregnant fairly easily with number 1 (on cycle 3)!
Thought I'd start a thread so we can all support each other. Anyone else on their TTC journey for number 2? I am currently on cycle 7 and have ruled myself out already as negative pregnancy test at 10DPO. Each month I convince myself that I am pregnant! Experienced a chemical at cycle 3 😩

@Diamond89 I’m ok, thank you ☺️ just feeling deflated after a CP last month then getting my hopes this month just for AF to show so trying not to think about it too much now.

I hope you’re ok and fingers crossed your treatment goes well x

Yeah I understand that. I think doing nice things for yourself next month sounds like a great plan. I think I’ll do the same.

SkaterChick · 18/01/2025 19:59

No update here.
Cd 48 here
If I did ovulate with that second peak then im around 6dpo.
Will likely test first thing Thursday as I have my drs appointment or I might pee in a tub and wait incase they ask me to come in.

SkaterChick · 27/01/2025 13:39

Hey ladies how are you all?
My period finally came yesterday on cd 56.
Its really heavy with some small clots which I dont usually get. I also have really bad cramps.

I spoke with my GP last week and they're running a blood panel and if my bloods come back okay then I'll be sent for a scan.

Onto the next cycle. Am I right in thinking that temping is more reliable to tell if you ovulated or am I making things up 😂

NattyPeer · 27/01/2025 17:43

Ladies, I am not doing good! Got a call from screening saying I am in high risk for Down syndrome. Need more testing, just don’t understand why things can’t go plain sailing 😢

OP posts:
LemonBitter · 27/01/2025 18:13

Hey @SkaterChick that is a long cycle! It's good your GP is running tests though, hopefully they can get some answers for you. Sounds like a horrible period as well now it's finally come 😔

@NattyPeer really sorry lovely that's a stress you don't need. Have they said how quickly they can get you in for the testing? Would it be a blood test first off? Did they say what the chance was?

Pandamonium04 · 27/01/2025 18:54

@NattyPeer oh no! Echoing @LemonBitter was it the nhs combined screening test? Is there any chance you could get the NIPT done? I’ve had two friends who were told high risk via combined screening, low risk via NIPT. And both opted for amniocentesis and both came back Down syndrome negative.

It is just typical with everything that has gone on already. It’s 1:75.

Why did they opt for amniocentesis after NIPT? I am going for the NIPT tomorrow but wondering about the amniocentesis!

Pandamonium04 · 27/01/2025 19:31

@NattyPeer i could be wrong but it was because they did NIPT “privately” and not on the nhs. And also another factor was they had conflicting tests (NIPT said low risk but combined screening said high risk), they wanted to be 100% sure so opted for amnio.

big hugs :(

LemonBitter · 28/01/2025 11:48

Good luck today @NattyPeer xx

SkaterChick · 30/01/2025 17:55

Turns out my thyroid is out so being put on meds for that and another blood test in 6 weeks

LemonBitter · 30/01/2025 22:33

Hey @SkaterChick how are you feeling? I guess it's good to have some sort of answer? Do they think the medication might take effect quite quickly?

SkaterChick · 01/02/2025 09:16

About 4-6 weeks.
Its good to know I wasn't imagining the symptoms and a big factor is that it effects ovulation so hopefully in the next 2 cycles I'll get back to some regularity and be ovulating on time.

LemonBitter · 06/02/2025 22:22

How are you girls doing @SkaterChick @NattyPeer ?xx

Nothing new here
I'm a week in on the upped meds but it's too early to have made a difference.
Plus we've been full of cold yet again (hopefully when they do kick in my immune system will be better 🤣)
Tracking with opks but no peak I've caught yet but my thermometer arrived today so I'll start temping next days or so.
How're you doing? xx

LemonBitter · 07/02/2025 15:15

Ahhh hope the temping helps with nailing those peaks @SkaterChick ☺️ sorry to hear you're ill.

All good here thank you!xx

SkaterChick · 08/02/2025 13:06

I haven't started temping yet.
I decided to wait until next cycle cause I was already a few days into my cycle and didn't know if it would be obvs.
I also sacked off opks this month.

And now I regret my choices as I dunno where I am in my cycle 🤣🤣🤣
Just that I'm cycle day 14.

Feeling really disheartened at the mo. There's 10+ people in my life pregnant right now and it's just so hard.

Heyyy @LemonBitter so NIPT came back as low risk so I am trying to take comfort in that! Hopefully when I get to the anomaly scan, that will be good! I am 15 weeks tomorrow but still getting sick most days. How are you and how many weeks are you? Xxx

I do think temping helps! Also the temp was accurate for me the times I have been pregnant.

It is so so hard when everyone around you are pregnant and they keep asking whether you are having another or having one isn’t it! The good thing is you know what the issue is now as that would have an impact. Sending hugs xx

I have an alarm set for 6am every day to take my meds as they have to be taken 1 hour before food minimum. So I need to start taking my temp then. My meds are bedside so I can just take them without opening my eyes 🤣
I dunno why im putting it off.

Glad it came back low risk for you.
My friend had a high initial result and so had the extensive test (I cannot think of the right words at the moment 😅😅) and it came back 99% that there was no down syndrome present

LemonBitter · 11/02/2025 20:17

Really pleased it came back as low risk @NattyPeer ! Sorry you're still sick, really hope it improves soon. I found 16 weeks the turning point both times.

34 weeks now - starting to get nervous for birth and more so doing it all over again! 😬

Have you started temping @SkaterChick ?

SkaterChick · 11/02/2025 22:11

@LemonBitter not yet... DS has been really sick and up loads in the night so I haven't had solid enough sleep.
Pretty sure my fertile window is over now. We managed to dtd twice so we'll see.
I'm just hoping for a normal cycle length!

How exciting you're so.close, hope all goes well

LemonBitter · 11/02/2025 22:29

Argh @SkaterChick I hope it passes soon, that's rough! Well done for managing to fit DTD in though - fingers crossed for a normal length cycle for you xx

Diamond89 · 20/02/2025 12:34

Hi ladies,

Hope it’s ok to jump on. Just been silently keeping up. So I’m 2 days late. I tried so hard not to test because this keeps happening where i’m a bit late, get a negative and then AF comes along that day. I tested this morning at 7am. Not really first urine because I got up at half 4 but still a few hours. Anyway it was really faint. Not going to get too carried away as I think my hcg levels should be higher if I’m late.
