Anyone else currently in TWW? I’m 4dpo and anxiously waiting until I can test.

I am currently trying to conceive my 3rd baby. I have 2 girls who are 6 and 8. And I’m desperately hoping they to see a positive test
My periods have been very irregular for the past year or so. But got a positive ovulation test on Sunday morning and have done BD with hubby last Wed, Saturday night and Monday night.
🤞🤞

Im also anxious because as ridiculous as it sounds I’ve had 2 online readings from 2 different psychics last month, one said I would conceive in November and give birth in August and one said September and December would be important months. Now I can’t get it out of my head that I won’t convince until the end of the year (if that even happens) 🙈🙈

I had no problems conceiving my first two girls 6 and 8 years ago, happen on first try both times so I am desperately hoping it will be the same this time. I am 30 now so still young.

sorry for the long read! X

@moosey89 wow you've been through so much. It's so hard , why do some of us have it so tough? It really is unfair. Praying you will get your positive soon xx

Elisabeth3468 · 17/04/2024 14:31

@Optimistic66 It's so hard isn't it. Well my little one will be 3 at the end of this year and I wanted them close together but that doesn't seem like it's going to happen which saddens me. But I do keep reading the benefits of larger age gaps and then I see people with 2 under 2 and it does look pretty hard and stressful.
Ttc the first time was rough. We ended up having IVF after 18 months ttc. I didn't really have periods though because of PCOS so was difficult to "try" , partner also has low sperm count despite being extremely healthy.
There are some changes this time round, one being that I have regular periods and I'm also about 2 stone lighter so my PCOS is more well controlled. We had an early miscarriage/more like a chemical in October. Pretty heart breaking but I can't just give up yet.

How was ttc first time for you?

moosey89 · 17/04/2024 14:36

@Elisabeth3468 ah thank you! It's been so difficult and some months are still so hard. I can't imagine having a baby now it's been so long! Hopefully one day it'll happen but we've also started talking about "what if" so we can get our options lined up. I do wish we were told more about how it's not easy or quick for everyone when we were younger!

For your situation, I've heard from lots of people that they enjoyed a slightly bigger age gap, yes it can be a feeling of having to re do a lot of stages and that van be tiring, but all my friends and family with 2 under 2 are permanently exhausted! So I think it's a case of both options having pros and cons. I hope you get your BFP soon, and sorry about your loss. It's heartbreaking 💔

JumpinJellyfish · 17/04/2024 15:10

Sorry for those of you who have struggled. It’s so unfair and the process starts to get really relentless really quickly! I remember thinking that lots of sex would be so fun and romantic but I’ve found ttc every time the opposite experience.

Ill also be 11dpo on Sunday (if my ovulation guess is right). I’ve always had faint lines at 10dpo with previous pregnancies but DC1 turns 6 on Saturday and I’m not sure I want the disappointment to give me a downer on his birthday…on the other hand I don’t want to be thinking about it all day so might actually test. My husband is away with work so also need to try to make it an extra special day with him!

Elisabeth3468 · 17/04/2024 15:21

@moosey89 you sound like you've got a great attitude towards it though and like a very strong person. It's not easy. Sometimes I let it get on top of me but I then I remember things could be worse and to live life.
I'm a nurse and look after lots of very sick people and it brings everything into perspective. That's not to say my feelings or struggles aren't valid though! It just helps me stop getting down and appreciate my life more.
I've recently taken up the gym and I'm loving it as well and the release of endorphins from the exercise really helps. (And trust me I've never been a gym person !)
I love these forums, it makes me feel less alone in this ❤️

Elisabeth3468 · 17/04/2024 15:22

@JumpinJellyfish Yes it literally gets relentless after a few months I find. There have been a couple of months where my partner works away as well and it falls on ovulation and you then feel like you've wasted a whole month!
Hope you have a nice day on Saturday. Personally I wouldn't test and just enjoy the day. Because if it's negative you will be down but if it's positive that's all that's going to be on your mind. Xxx

TaliatheBard · 17/04/2024 15:23

I feel like AF is going to arrive for me a whole week early. I’m 9dpo but have all the PMS symptoms. Maybe next month 🤞🏻

moosey89 · 17/04/2024 16:11

@Elisabeth3468 thank you - I read something the other day that was all about being tired of being strong, and not wanting to have to be strong any more and it really resonated.

I'm a firm believer that your feelings are valid, no matter how "big" your problems may be when compared to others. Someone else having bigger struggles doesn't invalidate anyone else's, after all that just starts a race to the bottom when effectively only one person in the whole world is ever allowed to be down as they have the worst problems.

I had a friend say to me she didn't feel she could talk about her secondary infertility when she knew I was struggling with TTC number one, and I shut her down so fast! I made it super clear that I'm just as much there to support what she needs as she is for me and she can talk to me anytime about how she's feeling. We all have struggles and life is that little less heavy when we're all supporting each other.

I absolutely love the gym - I'm currently training for an indoor rowing competition and it's so good to have a focus. The endorphins are ace too! I started exercising properly for the first time in 2019 - I'm not skinny or look that sporty, but it's my happy place 😁

Aisling1010 · 17/04/2024 16:40

All you ladies that have been struggling with infertility for a long time and suffered with losses my heart goes out to you big time 💗❤️💙 I can’t imagine the heartache 😢

I was so blessed with my first 2 that I was able to conceive no problem very quickly. I was very young when I had them only 22 and 23, I’m not sure if that made a difference

so really I shouldn’t complain this is only my first try with baby number 3. I’m only 30 so still young.
but my cycles are so different now, they use to be pretty regular. So if I’m not pregnant this cycle it could be nearly 3 months or so again before I get a period so it’s not like I can just try again next month 🙁
my sister is expecting atm too and I would have loved us to be pregnant together

Test this morning and an hour ago were both negative

It is so early and you can implant any day up to 10 so you are definitely not out. How many days LP do you have? I usually have 12 so going try and resist testing today at 9dpo.

Do you BBT? what's your chart looking like? Mine went up again today - although i know it means nothing.

I’m not sure how many days LP I have actually, because my cycles have been so irregular for a while I have no idea when I’m getting a period! But the last time I used ovulation tests a period came 15 days after my positive.

I don’t chart or anything like. So I can’t understand your chart at all😅 but If I don’t get pregnant this cycle I might look into doing that next cycle!

You’re smart not testing today at 9dpo! Xx

That’s interesting @Aisling1010 - when did your cycles change? Have you ever looked into it?

If you have (or might have) PCOS I recommend a supplement called inofolic. I don’t have pcos but I have a thyroid condition and I take it for that - it’s reduced my cycle from 32 days to 29 and when I started taking it I lost the last bit of baby weight from dc2 so I think it has stabilised my hormones. Loads of people with pcos have had amazing results with it.

Thanks so much for the recommendation! I will definitely get that. I had hormonal bloods done about 10 weeks ago and turned out I have an under active thyroid! Is that what you have too? So I’m on medication for that now. They never mentioned pcos everything else came back normal except the thyroid. But I feel like I do have pcos becuase I have every symptom of it and both of my sisters have it!!

OP posts:
JumpinJellyfish · 17/04/2024 21:53

@Aisling1010 yes I do! If your thyroid has been under active it could have caused your cycles to become irregular, so now that you’re on thyroxine they might go back to normal 🤞🏻. Some symptoms
of pcos (weight gain, ovarian cysts) can also be due to hypothyroidism so you may well not have pcos at all. If your hormone tests were normal I think it’s unlikely that you do.

But I’d still recommend inofolic as it’s beneficial either way.

Aisling1010 · 17/04/2024 21:53

Absolutely no cramping today, boobs still hurt, negative test again this evening. Wish I could wait to Saturday to test again, but already know I’m going to test in the morning🙈 and then I will be upset and struggle to focus at work 🙈

JumpinJellyfish · 17/04/2024 22:08

@Elisabeth3468 yes I think you are right - I will try to hold off until Sunday!

Still no symptoms really. I had a bit of cramping this afternoon but then realised that I probably get random cramping all the time and don’t notice it as not paying attention. The week is really dragging for me now though!

Elisabeth3468 · 18/04/2024 07:18

@moosey89 Yes agree with this 100 percent! Everyone's struggles are valid xxx

Elisabeth3468 · 18/04/2024 07:21

How is everyone today? 8dpo and absolutely no symptoms. I feel extreme tiredness but I always do when I'm around this stage in my cycle. Yesterday I had some sharp shooting pains going up (like lightening crotch) but I've had this in normal cycles so pretty sure I'm not pregnant. 😫 honestly don't think I can bare another negative test. Especially what a difficult month it's been with pregnancy announcements.

AG1993 · 18/04/2024 07:31

Good morning my wonderful ladies ☺️, so I am 10/11 dpo and did a test this morning and could see a very faint line but think it was out of the time frame so did another one and it was a big fat negative. I even asked my husband if he saw a line and said he could so I will wait another couple of days and test again at the weekend if AF doesn't arrive in the meantime x

deliwoman1 · 18/04/2024 07:31

@Elisabeth3468 8dpo is so early, and I’ve been pregnant and totally symptomless for weeks before now! You can’t count yourself out yet but I know it’s hard not to be pessimistic after a struggle.

I have got a vv faint line this morning, but I think it could be an evap. What do you think ladies? My toddler distracted me so I looked at the test a few mins late 😣

I’m 9 or 10dpo. Went to the docs yesterday for something unrelated and he tested me. BFN! So I’m not exactly filled with hope. If I’m 10dpo I would’ve liked a more visible line 😕 Suddenly very anxious about another miscarriage.

Two week wait anyone?
deliwoman1 · 18/04/2024 07:44

@AG1993 Same! But I’m too chicken to do another one. I wish I hadn’t flushed my FMU straight away 😕

AG1993 · 18/04/2024 07:46

@deliwoman1 I have decided this month I am not going to over test, I went through loads last time and its so expensive so I am trying to show some restraint haha x

Exactly same as you - 8dpo and no symptoms. Not really sure when AF is due as Flo just automatically made it 2 weeks after O day which is 3 days longer than my typical cycle. Did take a test this AM and was negative which I was expecting! Will use FRER tomorrow but without knowing when my period is, I'm sort of just waiting! But will keep doing cheap tests until then. Fingers crossed for you!

deliwoman1 · 18/04/2024 07:49

@AG1993 I admire that! I’ve got a load of the cheapo ones so the temptation is too strong! I do have an early digital so will do that at the weekend if I get another faint line.

deliwoman1 · 18/04/2024 07:52

Also, if I am pregnant, my only symptom was greediness yesterday. I’m not sure that counts but I was bloody ravenous all day. Ate literally double what I normally would, and I have to say it was mostly crap. 😬 Nothing out the ordinary this morning though!

AG1993 · 18/04/2024 07:56

@deliwoman1 the only symptoms I have is sore boobs and I have been feeling really rundown that last couple of days but that is not necessarily pregnancy related x
