I need help trying to figure out which person is the dad

My lmp was 16/7/23
My cycle is normally 33 days
I had sex with person A on
30/7/23
31/7/23
1/8/23
5/823

Person B
14/8/23

I was due my period on the 16-17/8/23
But it never came and took a pregnancy test on the 24/8/23 and it came up 3+ on a clear blue
Is there a possibility it's person B

I wouldn't have thought so, too late in your cycle.

AnotherCountryMummy · 09/04/2024 17:48

Is your cycle always bang on 33 days? Do you know when you ovulate?

midnightsugar · 09/04/2024 17:49

It's always 32/33 days

midnightsugar · 09/04/2024 17:50

Don't know when I ovulate only by guessing that I would have ovulated 14ish days before my period ?

OP posts:
greasypolemonkeyman · 09/04/2024 17:53

It's very very very likely to be A

Zzbutton · 09/04/2024 17:54

Sorry I can’t help working out dates, and I know you haven’t asked for advice but we are having a major family drama at the moment over something like this only 11 years after the baby was born. If there is any doubts at all, have a paternity test. It could come back to bite you unexpectedly a lot of years later if there is even a slight question over dates/possible fathers.

TheShellBeach · 09/04/2024 17:57

Person A.

Even if you have a long cycle it has to be Person A.

midnightsugar · 09/04/2024 17:57

I'm nearly 100% certain it's person A as person B didn't finish and I know there's obviously still a chance but just seeing what people think as person B was also 3 days before my period was meant to start and testing positive 11 days after that even though I had all the symptoms a few days after missing my period

OP posts:
TheShellBeach · 09/04/2024 17:59

Who do you want it to be?

Do they know about each other?

midnightsugar · 09/04/2024 18:00

I would prefer person A but if I thought B was a genuine possibility then I would let them both know

OP posts:
wlv12 · 09/04/2024 18:03

I’d put money on it being person A.
3+ weeks on a digital pregnancy test means approx 3 weeks since conception which fits dates with A not B.

Good luck and I hope you have support around you/that person A will support you.

TheShellBeach · 09/04/2024 18:03

But as you had unprotected sex with both men, they need to know, as they (and you) need STI tests.

newyearsresolurion · 09/04/2024 18:05

Probably A

Mummy2mybear · 09/04/2024 18:10

Likely to be A but it could be either OP. Did you plan for the baby ?

Notsonifty50 · 09/04/2024 18:12

A is the father.

dirtyblond · 09/04/2024 18:12

probably person A, but not definitely, so you will need a DNA test after the baby is born

NewbieParentMango · 09/04/2024 18:25

Is the baby here or due very soon?
I'd get a dna just to be 100% then there is no doubt and you will be sure without any guilt.

What have A & B been told so far?

Plumchumm · 09/04/2024 18:38

It’s person A.

person B was way too late in the cycle. It takes 7ish days to even implant, so if you had sex 14 and you were due period on 16-17, you would have been way after ovulation there.

If you happened to ovulate late and person B caught the egg, the pregnancy test would have said 1 week, not 3, as it would have been only 10 days after sex. You’d have had to get a very very sensitive test to even catch that positive, since 2 weeks wouldn’t have even passed.

TheShellBeach · 09/04/2024 18:39

So you're about 36 weeks - 38 weeks now.
What EDD were you given?

unfortunately it is nothing like that cut and dried. You need a DNA test.

midnightsugar · 09/04/2024 18:40

EDD is 23-27th of April

So it has to be A.

why? EDD is counted from fist day of last period, nothing to do with when you actually conceived.

dirtyblond · 09/04/2024 19:51

Basically, it is probably A, but you won't know without a DNA test. Thats all anyone can say.

TheShellBeach · 09/04/2024 19:54

dirtyblond · 09/04/2024 19:50

It's calculated after the 12 week scan.
And that fits with conception about 14 days before the date of the missed period - which means it's A who is the father.
