I think someone has mentioned it before - but is it possible to miss testing positive on an OPK? Mine were getting darker this week, and then faded away again, so I haven't had a positive. I've only been testing FMU though
( I didn't use them for my first pregnancy so have no idea what I'm doing 😂)

It's probably fine I'd say you just missed it! When it starts getting darker I test up to 4 times a day to catch the peak, but you should test twice a day to be sure, doesn't need to be FMU it's better to test round 10/11am and again 4/5pm 😁

blackberryhill · 16/05/2024 10:26

@ButItHasCheese Yes, if testing once a day I think you could definitely miss it, particularly if you have had near-positives. Do you chart temperatures? That would likely help confirm whether it happened or not. Otherwise I'd just keep using the OPKs daily.

ButItHasCheese · 16/05/2024 10:50

Thanks @Daniki and @blackberryhill ... just wanted to check ( and not stress about something else 😂) I am tracking temps as well, definitely think I've missed it this month

Also good to know for next month, FMU is the pits when I'm bursting but have to have the wherewithal to pee and test 🙄

That's great! Is that to discuss options or for further tests? I hope it goes well!

RememberZen · 16/05/2024 14:52

My partner has extremely poor morphology, he's trying everything at the minute to try and better it. I keep telling myself, it only takes one sperm for this to happen! 🙏

OnePinkDuck · 16/05/2024 21:31

CD10 and have just had my peak, came round so much quicker than I was expecting! Fertile window only started 2 days ago according to Apple (wasn’t due to start until today on flo and premum - as an fyi, Apple cycle tracking has definitely been the most accurate I’ve found so far for predicting dates). So haven’t actually managed to have sex yet this cycle. Hopefully other half in the mood tonight 😬😬

In regards to the earlier conversation, if I hadn’t tested twice today I would have missed my peak with how rapidly it’s shot up, I start twice daily checking (around 11 am and 9pm) from about CD7/8 (have short cycles).

He's taking the Wellman ones, plus additional coq10 and changed his diet and getting more vitamin C. He hasn't been back for a test since, so I'm hoping there's some improvement by now.

I've also found the apps to vary by a couple of days. It's strange as they have the exact same data (temp, opk etc.), but I guess they all use different algorithms. Apple CT has also been most accurate at predicting my fertile window so far.

OnePinkDuck · 17/05/2024 16:29

@flowersinthecloud yes I’ve put the same data into all 3 and Apple cycle tracking gets it right most times. Definitely doesn’t look as fancy as the other apps but definitely seems the most reliable. I like premum to do the LH scanning and the graphs. Flo I wish I hadn’t wasted my money on.

Managed to DTD yesterday at least. Still peaking today so might see if I can convince him again tonight…. 😂

ButItHasCheese · 17/05/2024 23:49

So interesting my with all the different apps - I used to use an AVA bracelet and then moved on to NC and they had completely different fertile windows (extending shag week quite substantially 😂)

I think I'm in the TWW now, AF due on the 26th... but starting to wonder if my luteal phase is too short (9/10 days).

flowersinthecloud · 18/05/2024 09:20

lol mine keep changing dates too. Apple CT has a more basic interface, but it’s the accuracy I care most about.

I am also worried about my LP being too short. I can’t find much info out there about what to do about this. Since coming off the pill I have regular but short cycles and very light periods. Not sure if my periods have changed in the decade I was on the pill or if my body is still adjusting. Ofc google has sent me into a spiral.

ButItHasCheese · 18/05/2024 09:54

@flowersinthecloud I can completely relate 😂 googled it and came back with I'm never getting pregnant ever again which did loads for my mood.

It did say vitamin C helps (which is easy) but I imagine next stop if the GP I suppose.

I came off the Mirena in December (it fell out) and it's taken me 4 months to get back to a regular cycle (my first period was 3 days, on a 23 day cycle and now they're back at 26 days with a glorious 6 day period 🫣)

I breastfed my first born for two years and despite stopping 5 months ago and I still have a short LP (was normal pre pregnancy), I had hoped it would normalise once I stopped but it hasn’t, I’ve started taking proceive max as have heard it can help with short LP, still first cycle so will update if it does extend it. But essentially from my reading vitamin b6 and high dose vitamin c can help 🤷‍♀️

Ive definitely had something very odd this cycle and not sure if proceive related or just coincidence… I’ve very occasionally had the odd twinge when I ovulate but most times I’m really not at all aware, last night when I was expecting to ovulate I had crippling pelvic pain on my left…. Never had ovulation pain like it. 😬😬 was really quite worrying
