Thought I’d make a new thread for those of us Ttc in April 2024. I know some of us will cross over from end of March to April ! Wishing everyone all the luck ✨❤️

Congrats on the bfp's ! Such magical moments ❤️

@RW269 I think if you ovulate later in your cycle you are just making the cycle as a whole longer. I think it's more usual for the follicular phase to vary in length but your luteal phase is usually always the same, that's how I understand it anyway.

I'm feeling quite negative about this month. Don't think it helps that I have no idea how many dpo I am

CoolSummer89 · 25/03/2024 20:13

@RW269 yes was going to say the same as @pleurotus generally the luteal phase (that’s the phase after ovulation) is fixed for each woman. For example I usually have 27 day cycles, with ovulation on day 13 and a 14 day luteal phase. But this month I ovulated on day 16, so had a 30 day cycle but still had a 14 day luteal phase.

Oh @catmumma84 sorry that you have had some unsettling results. Did they give any advice with the results, or just deliver confusing/unsettling news and let you scratch your head?!

catmumma84 · 25/03/2024 20:21

@CoolSummer89 hey! So they just upped my dosage from 50mg to 75mg and I’ve got to go back in 3 months to see if it’s gone back down… I’ve read if it still doesn’t work after increasing the dosage some more they refer you to an endocrinologist to see if there’s absorption problems. Just annoying as I feel like it puts everything on hold for an unknown amount of time but hey we keep on trying and as I mentioned in a previous post, the good news will be I can party in Ibiza 😂 as much as obviously I’d prefer a 👶🏻

hope you’re good! X

LK2610 · 25/03/2024 20:28

@RW269 I ovulated late, on day 18 last month. It just meant my period was also late, so I don’t think you need to worry. Also it now seems to have caught itself back up again 🤪

I read that you can ovulate late sometimes and it’s nothing to worry about. It made me realise that’s why it’s important to track with sticks or another method that isn’t just an app, unless you’re DTD every other day for the whole month 🫣

RW269 · 25/03/2024 20:39

Thanks @pleurotus , @CoolSummer89 & @LK2610 definitely feeling a bit more at ease now! Phew! Haha! Had such an influx this week of random people at work questioning if I’ll have kids and stuff and it’s definitely made me more stressed out about it all!

@pleurotus hope you’re feeling a bit more positive about it soon! 🤞 the not knowing is very frustrating!

@LK2610 I don’t know who has the energy for dtd every other day the entire month 😂!

LK2610 · 25/03/2024 21:08

I find it wild that it’s what the NHS advises @RW269

RRAEE · 25/03/2024 21:12

@RW269 & @LK2610 definitely not got the energy for that 😂 or the time.

Racket81 · 25/03/2024 21:14

Hi sorry I didn't move over to April thread. Found you guys again now and reading through the posts. I'm cd 1 and on tje chinese herbs this month.

Dogscanlookup · 25/03/2024 21:36

@RW269 also going to say the same - only the past 4 months since MC I’ve been ovulating day 14, but previously was CD17. And yeah, AF would always be around 12 days after that for me!
@emmies86 i am over the moon for you!! Congratulations!
@pleurotus im the same this month. I don’t feel too hopeful. But I think as you say it comes from uncertainty. My peak went from zero to all in one day and I also usually feel myself ovulate and didn’t this month. I think when something is different or you feel you can’t track you feel out of control and mentally it makes you feel worse about things!

Dogscanlookup · 25/03/2024 21:37

@UnicornPrincessSarah i wouldn’t worry too much - they say to read results within a certain time and ignore after that

UnicornPrincessSarah · 25/03/2024 21:40

@Dogscanlookup Thanks just a bit scary to see it vanish my wondfos have stayed but super faint

Yes, but she is my baby sister and I'm trying to be supportive. She hasn't had an easy road and had to do IVF (due to issues with her boyfriend's swimmers), so it's less hard knowing she wasn't just able to get pregnant easy peasy (which is when I feel REALLY bitter, lol).

I'm also off my depression and anxiety meds because they are pretty new, and I'm not risking any potential baby with meds that haven't had enough studies during pregnancy. However, I've been doing surprisingly well off all medications.

Note: I fully support people needing to be on medications for mental health, etc during pregnancy. I made the choice to safetly get off of them for myself and with the support of my psychiatrist and OB.

RW269 · 25/03/2024 23:36

@LK2610 & @RRAEE we would all need shares in caffeine companies for that 😂

@Racket81 glad you found the thread okay ☺️ sad to see you joining but nice to have you with us all!

@Dogscanlookup seems like cd17 is actually a norm then! You know I wish they would make it a bit more reassuring on things when it’s like “you’ll be exactly 14 days after etc” haha! Thanks for the info though :)

@UnicornPrincessSarah I agree with the above, if it’s showing within the time that’s a good sign :) x

LK2610 · 26/03/2024 07:16

Out of curiosity, does anyone else get ovulation symptoms? For the one day a month I get mild cramps, a headache and I feel super tired. Sometimes I swear I can feel the side the egg is coming from but maybe I’m imagining that

RRAEE · 26/03/2024 08:11

@RW269 😂😂 indeed and yeah theres nothing to worry about every one is different. I think i was CD17 this month but was in london for a few days so couldn't confirm with LH test.

@LK2610 i sometimes get cramps / stabbing pain on one side. (Most common symptom for me ) and occasionally experience sore boobs and bit of nausea for like a day 🤷🏻‍♀️

Daniki · 26/03/2024 08:14

Hi ladies! So update, CD13 and had my follicle scan this morning. Nice big follicle, delighted I took the injection with me because the doctor done it for me! Said DTD every second day now until AF to comes and no testing for two weeks. 👀 I will struggle with that 😂

catmumma84 · 26/03/2024 08:59

@Daniki that’s great 😊 what injection is it you had done? Sorry I think I’ve missed your post xx

Daniki · 26/03/2024 09:02

@catmumma84 trigger shot! We had a monitored cycle this month, the trigger shot triggers ovulation. this was our next step so hoping it works 🤞🏻 so annoying as I had no problem getting pregnant before 🙈 xx

YourShyFinch · 26/03/2024 09:02

@Dogscanlookup thank you for the welcome message :) I have been to the doctors and everybody agrees there is nothing concerning about the ovulation bleeding, however I can't avoid but feeling disheartened and a bit frustrated when every single month around ovulation time I see the bleeding. Anyway let's hope it is not interfering with my ability to get pregnant and I will be lucky at some point!

summersundays · 26/03/2024 09:17

@TryTheNight it's nice that you've both been through something so similar and can really understand each other. I sometimes feel that unless someones gone through fertility or misscarraige issues, they don't really understand.

I'm also med free. My mum was almost a Thalidomide baby, so I'm quite cautious (although totally support any mothers decision, of course)

I have a best friend who's basically my sister, we grew up together and luckily have decided no baby showers. It's not really our thing, maybe as we're a little older, so neither of us has had to go through that and fertility struggles.

Your sister and I have the same issues, and I'm looking into IVF now, so I'm really pleased, it's working out for you both xx

summersundays · 26/03/2024 09:19

@LK2610 I think I can feel the ovulation happening, I've also noticed I can have a lower mood around ovulation and sometimes feel like I'm more bloated!

WonderingAboutBabies · 26/03/2024 10:50

@LK2610 Yes, I always get ovulation pain. Apparently they're called 'mittelschmerz' in Germany - which translates to 'middle pain' i.e. pain during the middle of a cycle, around ovulation time.

I tend to feel twinging on one side - varies between left and right each month.

Quolla · 26/03/2024 10:55

Hi! Can I join? Second cycle TTC #2 and I think I'm on 2dpo but don't track much so I'm not sure 😅 didn't get a positive ovulation test this month so I'm not overly positive but now just the two weeks to wait 😅 good luck everyone!
