Thought I’d make a new thread for those of us Ttc in April 2024. I know some of us will cross over from end of March to April ! Wishing everyone all the luck ✨❤️

@SummerSun24 yeah I think that is a good idea, luckily I do notice the change in CM too and also tend to feel more in the mood in the fertile window. I think going by those signs will be less stressful than covering such a huge potential window. Annoyingly I had spotting earlier but it has stopped since so looks like CD1 will be more like tomorrow 🙄

LK2610 · 22/03/2024 20:03

Fingers crossed for our Christmas babies @Daniki 🤞🤞🤞

Checking in as CD1 for me now on our third cycle.

I’m getting an exseed home sperm test for DH as he’s never (to his knowledge) conceived before so want to check his swimmers are ok. I had an abortion in my very early 20s after an accidental pregnancy so at least I know I’ve conceived at some point in my life. Sod’s Law isn’t it how accidents happen and then when you’re trying it doesn’t seem to happen despite doing everything “right”.

Only just joining the thread now from the March TTC but reading through all the posts from the beginning.

We’re in the exact same boat. The only time I have ever had unprotected sex (missed taking the pill two days in a row) in my early 20s I got pregnant. Now aged 35 and it’s been 3 months of trying and nothing. How did you find the exseed test, reassuring?

hoping everyone has a lucky month. If I ovulate when predicted (5th April) the due date would be 27th Dec!

Dogscanlookup · 22/03/2024 21:01

@LK2610 last year we skipped April because we didn’t want a child stuck with a birthday so near to Christmas… I have a few friends born in December and they all hate it. And presents all get crammed into one month and everyone is busy so trying to plan birthday parties etc is difficult.
think I would dedicate a day in summer for them to separate it a little!
@Daniki unsure with the eye drops - I doubt it would affect fertility?

Dogscanlookup · 22/03/2024 21:02

So I got my flashing smiley this morning… and because I’ve had so much CM today I did another test this evening and I got a solid smiley!! I’ve never had such a quick incline to a positive OPK?! I usually get 3 or 4 days of flashing smileys.. is this worrying?

pleurotus · 22/03/2024 21:08

Welcome @Bb542 + @Fairy0708 I hope this month is lucky for you both. @LK2610 hmm I've always thought it's so that the kid doesnt have a bday too close to xmas/on xmas day, better to have a birthday at all mind! I actually really like the idea now.

So two things have happened to me today. Firstly I have a bit of a cold - could just be that but i've barely had a cold all winter despite my daughter being a walking stream of snot!

Secondly and this is no better im terms of tmi but I went on a run today and actually pee'd myself! My pelvic floor was practically non existent! It was definitely unusual.

pleurotus · 22/03/2024 21:14

Alas I'm starting to sound crazy 🤣

SummerSun24 · 22/03/2024 21:49

@LK2610 I'm a new year's child and don't mind it at all, my LO is a few days after my birthday as well. I'm looking to avoid conceiving with a Jan birthday again just because I don't want Xmas then three birthdays I think that's too intense 😂 but no issues it being December! Like I say I can't remember having a problem with a birthday so close to Christmas 😊 think it varies between people on if they have a bad experience of it or not but in the grand scheme of life I don't think it counts for much tbh

On Premom they say about 60% of cycles are gradual surges (like the 3 days you describe) and 40% have rapid surges, which is why Premom suggests that nearing predicted ovulation you test twice a day. I don’t think there is anything to worry about.

Dogscanlookup · 22/03/2024 22:21

@CoolSummer89 good to know the percentages! Just very unusual for me. When I did a bit of reading it just means you’ve had a rapid / short estrogen surge. Apparently gradual surges help build the lining better for implantation.. hopefully it doesn’t affect my chances too much!

Dogscanlookup · 22/03/2024 22:23

@pleurotus have you had a weak pelvic floor before? I remember my midwife saying always do the exercises at traffic lights as a way of doing them regularly!

UnicornPrincessSarah · 22/03/2024 22:38

Hi Ladies

How we all doing today? been lurking in the background so sorry haven't really been keeping up to date.

10 DPO - Just a quick update got a VVFL on a Wondfo test this afternoon 3pm UK didn't hold my wee and had been drinking, what made me test is I'm having horrible PMS-like cramps like I should be bleeding and my orange squash I have daily tasted rank

This pic was taken 6pm UK time but have others from 3pm when first did it pinker in real eye site

BFN on yesterday and Tuesday though with the same brand

Have heard and read mixed reviews on these though so i will be carrying on testing and will keep you all posted AF due 28th March

No not really! I have had two natural births (not sure if that's the right terminology but hate the alternative 😂) but yeah i've not really had an issue with it before. I did read that pregnancy hormones can make everything a bit relaxed down there 👀 but I'm probably gettind ahead of myself! 🫠

ButItHasCheese · 23/03/2024 01:44

Good luck @UnicornPrincessSarah !!

Yes I’m definitely glad we did it and would recommend, we could actually see the sperm under the microscope which was funny 😂. It’s really put my mind at rest to be honest.

The digital ones work great it's just the dye ones not sure why they are still allowed to sell them.
If it appeared that fast I'd definitely say positive. Fingers crossed you get another positive on the digital one. Good for you being able to wait until tomorrow. I have no self control 🙂

Hi love!

m got my BFP on a digital this morning 😁

Daniki · 23/03/2024 08:03

@LK2610 🤞🏻🤞🏻

@Dogscanlookup hopefully not, I'm using them anyway as I currently look like slot from

That looks very positive 🩷 congrats 🥳

Cycle Day 6 for me today and still cannot decide whether to skip this cycle or not. My due date will literally be Christmas Eve or Christmas Day 🙈 but after my miscarriage last month I feel like I shouldn't plan it.

Hope there are lots of BFPs for everyone soon 🩷

Also, what ovulation tests do people recommend? I was using the easy @ home ones but they're unavailable on Amazon at the moment 🤔 I prefer the strips rather than ClearBlue

Bb542 · 23/03/2024 08:35

And congrats to you @MaybeWeShouldGoToEastbourne too 🩷

UnicornPrincessSarah · 23/03/2024 08:44

@Bb542 Thank you.

I was always scared about a possible baby at Christmas if I went off period date I would be due 5th Dec if I went off possible ovulation date of 17th Dec, sometimes I think if we were to put a hold on things that could be the month we fell I just never really know. I know I would have to have a c section so they get you in a bit earlier for that I think?

I haven't used OPK or BTT myself so cant help there x
