19dpo lines not progressing :(

Hi everyone. This is my first post and just looking for anyone who has had a similar experience. We have been ttc for 5 years, had our first failed ivf last year and was just about to transfer the funds for our next round when AF didn’t show and I got a bfp 14dpo! All the tests have been clear positives that come up in the the first 30 seconds but they do not seem to be progressing and I have fallen down a rabbit warren of comparing my tests to other people’s and they just don’t seem as dark. Pics are of clear blue 15dpo-19dpo and FRER 17dpo and 18dpo (I only had a pack of 2 of those). I know I shouldn’t focus on line progression but so many people seem to have really dark lines by now. Thanks all x

I think they are progressing, especially the clear blue. It’s not as obvious maybe because they are all pretty dark. They look like good lines.

Suchardchoccy · 08/02/2024 10:25

They all look perfect to me

L1984 · 08/02/2024 10:25

Thanks @Millie1501 🙏🏻

Thanks @Suchardchoccy i have added a pic of them all just after I took them as the 15-17dpo are dry on the first pics. I think this morning I just really expected to see a clear difference between 17dpo and today (19dpo) but they look the same. Today’s is marginally darker in person. I think because we have never got this far I just don’t know what to expect. I am 39 as well so I know my age will be a risk factor x

Line progression isn't even a science. You could be more hydrated etc on different days. They are all lovely strong positive tests, and FWIW the most recent clear blue is definitely darker. Have you booked an early scan? If you do one in about 2 weeks, you will be able to see a lot.

Millie1501 · 08/02/2024 10:35

@L1984 i had a chemical in December. My lines were never this dark and got more and more faint very early on. Your lines look a lot better and more promising. I understand why you’re stressing because your ttc journey sounds very tough. But try and not do anymore tests. Enjoy the fact you’re pregnant and maybe book an early scan for reassurance. Oh and congratulations 😊

L1984 · 08/02/2024 10:36

Thanks @LolaJ87 I just got carried away looking online comparing mine to other peoples which is know is silly and just making me more anxious. But I have only ever had a positive test once in 2021 which was a chemical and they were all really faint, so I feel like I am I in unknown territory 😊 I am definitely booking an early scan 🙏🏻 I just havent yet as I am still too scared to say it out loud at the minute in case I jinx it!x

Dude! Tests are not meant for this! Go get your hCG levels checked two days apart or wait for the scan. Tests will tell you nothing at this stage.

Viewfrommyhouse · 08/02/2024 10:39

FWIW, my tests weren't as dark as any of yours. Problem free pregnancy and Ds is now 8yo.

L1984 · 08/02/2024 10:39

@Millie1501 I am sorry that happened to you, I had a chemical in 2021 and like with yours the lines were really faint and quickly turned to negative. Will definitely book a scan, soon as I can buck up the courage ☺️ thank you for being so kind x

@Awaywiththeferries123 I know I know, I just can’t stop 🤣 I will, thank you.

@L1984 it's totally understandable. I never really got a "dye-stealer" despite taking 7 or so tests, and my son is 14 months now. Try to focus on the positive. It is much more likely that this pregnancy will go well than not. The odds are in your favour.

Wishing you all the luck and warmest congratulations ❤

L1984 · 08/02/2024 10:41

@Viewfrommyhouse thank you for replying. Did you test as late as 19dpo or stop earlier? I just feel so anxious, know I need to step away from the tests x

OP posts:
L1984 · 08/02/2024 10:44

@LolaJ87 congratulations 💙
I never even knew what a dye stealer was until a few days ago and now I feel like everyone except me has them so thank you for saying that. And thank you for taking the time to message 💜

I wish MNetters would realise that line progression is not representative of progress. Please stop testing. It makes no difference to the outcome.

L1984 · 08/02/2024 10:59

@Rosesanddaisies1 thank you, I will try ☺️

I didn't even get a BFP until my period was 6 days late 🙃. Did one on that day and the next.

Suchardchoccy · 08/02/2024 11:29

Honestly from those pics I would say everything is fine 😊 get booked in with your midwives!! Congratulations!!

L1984 · 08/02/2024 11:35

@Viewfrommyhouse I am 7 days late today so about the same time, thank you x

@Suchardchoccy i will, thank you ☺️ x

Hi! I’ve been in the same boat as you stressing over line progression but I keep trying to listen to my much more sensible husband who says line progression is ‘a bad science experiment’ and will never give any useful information 😂
im going to try and step away from the tests too! Hope all goes well for you x

L1984 · 08/02/2024 11:46

@Iro29 why do we do it to ourselves 🤣 How many DPO are you? Haha your hubby is definitely right it’s just so hard not to compare when there are so many posts which show really strong progression. Wishing you all the best and hoping this is our time 🙏🏻💜

@L1984 i haven’t tracked this cycle properly but I think I maybe 18/19 dpo. I did a clear blue digital this morning and got 2-3 weeks so that’s maybe me feel a bit better so I’m realllllyyyy going to try and step away from the tests for a few days haha 😂 maybe try a digital if you’re feeling worried?

Please don’t do this. Again, digital tests are not exact science so this will not tell you anything about how the pregnancy is progressing.

My advice, as above, stands.

L1984 · 08/02/2024 11:57

@Iro29 we are about the same then. I did a digital yesterday (18dpo) 🫣 🤣 I got 2-3 as well. Iv just said the same to my other half, I said no more tests for a couple of days, he didn’t look convinced haha!

OP posts:
Iro29 · 08/02/2024 12:03

@Awaywiththeferries123 no need to be rude. I’m aware non of this is an exact science (as you would see if you’d read my first post). Sometimes small things can just provide a small amount of reassurance even if only for a small moment in time. We are all aware that nothing can be confirmed without scans etc. I was merely trying to empathise and be supportive of someone in the same situation. Maybe just be a little more delicate with your comments and you’re not aware of what someone else is experiencing.
