Im on cycle 5 now and im going to try not to do it this month!

Cycle just gone AF came bang on time, morning 28/28

nope

I hold my hands up to poas far too often. I use persona to help me with my addiction as pg tests are too expensive

who is Lottie?

Tell me an' I'll sort 'em out for you, psml

HAVE YOU TESTED YET?

FGS WOMAN

Disenchanted · 17/03/2008 15:26

well done lottie!

lol

You can be my role model.

Last week before AF came i started testing at 6DPO

And used my precious 'clearblue digital' I was saving just hours before my period came! Gutted!

Im on holiday for the first week after OVing so ll only have a 1week wait this time, as my mind will be else where!

No it tells you when you are O'ing, but you have to poas about 6 times a month which gets me through to a suitable dpo, by which time the urge to pee on another bloody stick rears it's head and I could test at 9dpo onwards if I didn't have any will power

sorkycake · 17/03/2008 15:37

I think I'll use a cheapy to discover I'm pg this time then go buy a CBDigital just to see the words.

I used 14 ebay cheapies last month.

I've already POAS twice today (OPK's) 'cos last month I didn't get a surge so I'm determined not to miss it this time.

A pain you used your CBD Disenchanted. As someone once said 'there's nothing like peeing on a £10 stick to bring on AF'. How very true.

Lottie, I know!

If I have them in the house i will use them!

And I decided today I wasn't going to put myself through it this month and then remembered Ive ordered 15 OPKs and 5 pregnancy tests on saturday

Lol.

Ah well, but like I said I don't think this month will be too bad.

I mean Im starting to BD CD11, its already CD5 tomorrow, and about CD17 (I think) Im off on holiday for a week (just to pontins with the little ones) so that should occupy my mind for the week.

I really don't want to test before AF is due.

I might get DH to take the tests to work and hide them in his locker!

Also not sure whether to use the OPKs, if I dont catch the sure and dont get a + Ill be fed up and wondering all month.

Maybe its better to just go 'au natural' ?

Disenchanted - I'm JUST the same as you. I'm also on cycle 5 and POAS'd obsessively the last two months and am now desperately trying to hold out until Friday before I do it again. AF should have had plenty of time to decide if she's visiting by then.

I favour the lottie approach (which also works for chocolate biscuits and cake!) - don't have any in the house and you won't be tempted.

Looking forward to Thursday when I might treat myself to a lovely Clearblue Digital as a reward for my patience!

BTW - this is the woman who POAS'd AFTER AF arrived last month - just in case!

Disenchanted · 18/03/2008 08:57

Treats, I think we are the same!

I POAS last week when AF started, it was just a bit, and i thought 'ohh implantation'

Im feeling alot more relaxed this month,

With my 1st 2 kids it took 2 months at most to get pregnant so part of me is surprised Im into month 5 now but I think Ive finally realised I need to chill out and just go with it.

(I say that now but come 8DPO... lol)

Hi there. I definitely became a POAS addict this month and only the second month of trying. Won't be doing it again as ended up on a bit of an emotional rollercoaster:

CD25 - BFN ebay cheapie
CD26 - BFN ebay cheapie
CD27 - BFP (!) Clearblue digital (cue much celebrating)
CD28 - BFN Clearblue normal (cue much heartache though still hopeful)
CD29 - BFP Clearblue digital and BFN CLearblue normal (cue much confusion)
CD30 - AF arrives - and just to complete things and because I don't want the bl*y things in the house BFN Clearblue digital.

If only I'd waited I'd have been none the wiser.

In future I won't be testing till I can no longer get my trousers done up...

EiWishFor3MoreEasterEggs · 18/03/2008 15:25

hello my name is ei and im a POAS-aholic im only CD11 and temping this cycle so im keeping my addiction at bay but i do admit to getting a BFN on CD4 it was an impulse thing i dont know what i was thinking...
xx ei xx

ClairePO · 18/03/2008 15:38

Very sorry HairyToe

Treats, disenchanted, ei, I also P'dOAS last month after AF arrived, because my temps hadn't gone down!! Obviously BFN.

I've had a great day, I have done 3 OPK's and they're getting gradually darker, so I may have to do another this evening!

EiWishFor3MoreEasterEggs · 18/03/2008 15:52

oooh claire you might be Oving how exciting im temping for my ov this cycle i am resisting OPKs cos i will do one all the time if i had some!!
xx ei xx

EiWishFor3MoreEasterEggs · 18/03/2008 16:01

so sorry hairytoe do you think it could have been a chemical pregnancy??
xx ei xx

sarah73076 · 18/03/2008 16:23

Before I discovered internet cheapies, I would stock up on tests when I visited my family in the U.S., due to exchange rate being so good. Last cycle I was POAS every day from 7DPO. This time I'm going to try to hold out for at least 10DPO--breaking down the addiction gradually!

HairyToe · 18/03/2008 17:10

Ei - is a chemical pregnancy when your egg is fertilised but it doesn't implant properly? Because yes I assume that is what happened. I must have had Hcg around in order for the tests to work.

Last pregnancy the digital ones didn't exist so I'd have done the ordinary one and never have known.

I'm glad in a way as I now know my eggs haven't dried up at the grand old age of 35! However I'm beating myself up a bit as I drank a fair few glasses of wine this cycle in a fairly blase way (obviously not knowing I was pregnant) and am now wondering if it was my fault it didn't stick.

Cosidering going completely teetotal although people who know me will definitely wonder what is up if I do that! They'll probably all start gossipping about whether I'm pregnant

Disenchanted · 18/03/2008 17:18

HairyToe, sorry to hear that. Im sure the wine had nothing to do with it, women don't realise they are pregnant for months and carry on drinking/smoking ect and have healthy babies.

Hopefully you will get a firm BFP soon x

OP posts:
HairyToe · 18/03/2008 17:24

Thanks for that Disenchanted. Lots of luck to you for the next cycle too. Unfortunately Dh is away on business all next week so a BFP for me this month is highly unlikely (near on impossible). Think I should use the time to go off and find myself a hobby and stop obsessively lurking around on all the Conception threads!

Good luck everyone who is TTC and STAY AWAY FROM THE TESTS!!!

sarah73076 · 19/03/2008 17:12

Um...I think I need a sponsor....I had a funny feeling in my uterus, kinda like a bubbly feeling (not gas). . .the thought crossed my mind that maybe, just maybe, I might be pg. I think I may have blacked out, because next thing I know, I'm in my bathroom, knickers round my ankles--and on the side there is a little cup of wee with an internet cheapie hpt strip in it!

The worst part is, I'm only 7DPO

This has to stop. . .

Disenchanted · 20/03/2008 12:48

Afternoon ladies

Sorry Ive been neglecting this thread but at CD7 theres not really much to talk about, lol.

How are you all?
