@CatiaR 9dpo today on cycle 4 of my ovulation induction trial.
beginning to think about IVF incase we’re not successful in the next 2 cycles.

so exciting for you, it won’t be long until you have bubs in your arms

CatiaR · 09/06/2024 21:40

@etaketak1991 33 weeks good going I remember you are a few weeks ahead 😊

good that they are checking it but also great that all is going well so far!

nothing major here really but now really feeling like my belly seriously needs to stretch as it feels so tight and baby either kicks me in my bladder or my ribs. Oh and lots of braxton hicks for any and every reason 🤣 very good movements and pattern I can tell now but not super fun when they want to create a mountain in a side of my belly! It looks very weird and feels very uncomfortable too!

@EK37 22 weeks! Time is flying indeed, hope all is going well, did you know already what you are having? I forget! 😅

was cleared for GD but my iron levels were just under the cut off at 114 when it’s 115-123 range so iron tablets till end of pregnancy for me! Pharmacies around here are being rubbish so took over a week to get my tablets and only 3 days of taking so far and hoping for no side effects.

@Ncl31 best of luck for this cycle, hopefully you won’t need to move into IVF 🤞

Thank you, got everything crossed. We have 2 more cycles of ovulation induction - if AF arrives on time at the end of the week then my fertile week will land the weekend we go away on our holiday. So hopefully lots of BD then.
if I get my BFP this cycle then all of our organise holidays will be affecting in some way - the ones w have coming up in the next month will just be affected by no alcohol. But our big holiday in February to Mauritius will have to be moved.
I Absolutely wouldn’t be complaining if that was the case though.

Hey all 😊
All good here! I'm 39 weeks on Tuesday (and officially into single figures til my due date as of today!)
I say all good... Pelvic pain (agony to turn in bed, my pelvis clicks), heartburn and now thrush are treating me with their presence 🥲 but not long now, weird to thing baby girl will be here within the next 3 weeks one way or another!

I started collecting colostrum as well which was a very slow start but just as I was going to call it a day it started going much better! So just trying to get a syringe full every day.

@CatiaR sadly I don't feel like I seemed to stretch much after a certain point 🥲 i am huge, and she is constantly shoving her little butt under my ribcage 😂

I can't believe how far along everyone is now!

@Ncl31 good to be thinking about other options but hopefully you won't need it! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!

CatiaR · 09/06/2024 23:29

@Hotmalibu94 oh bless you that does not sound fun but omg your little girl is going to be here at any moment now 🥰

That’s my thought process, I feel better k noting what the next step is, but hoping I won’t need to go there

Ncl31 · 10/06/2024 06:13

@Hotmalibu94 i can’t believe you’re almost there. The last stretch now.

EK37 · 10/06/2024 09:19

@CatiaR yes we know we are having a little girl 🩷

ahh glad you got cleared for the GD!

@Ncl31 fingers crossed for the next 2 cycles! But at least you have an action plan ahead which is good! Xx

CatiaR · 10/06/2024 09:25

@EK37 aww cute! so many little girls in this thread. We are currently taking bets in my office for gender/weight and due date XD

Hey everyone!

I am also 39 weeks this week, and it's my first week of mat leave this week! So enjoyed some toast in bed this morning which was such a treat!

I am feeling similar to @Hotmalibu94, my hips and pelvis are ready to give up and it makes sleeping almost impossible! But on the home stretch now! I can't really believe that I'll be a mum in a matter of weeks 😱

I have tried collecting colostrum but haven't been successful yet, however maybe now I'm on mat leave I'll have a bit more time (and patience) to try again!

@CatiaR my belly is feeling stretched to the max now 😂 it's so tight which makes it really uncomfortable at times, I wish I had better news for you 😂😂 I have sadly got some pretty gnarly stretch marks too despite my best efforts 😔

@Ncl31 It's a great idea to have all the facts and knowledge of the next steps in hand, everything is crossed that you won't need it! Your trips sound lovely, enjoy! 😊

Hotmalibu94 · 10/06/2024 10:58

@Hollie18 the first few times I tried I got nothing.
Then the first time I managed to collect anything it was 0.5ml and that was over the course of an entire film! Now I can get that in roughly 30min so it's definitely improving.

Tips I read/things which have worked for me:
Hot water bottle on one boob, then I massage for 5 mins or so (whilst warming the other boob), then I put the hot water bottle back on whilst massaging the other boob, then I start expressing.
When expressing one side I always have the hot water bottle on the other side or else I can't seem to get much out.
The 'c pinch' thing just compressing and releasing that I read about online didn't seem to do much for me... I can only get colostrum by putting my fingers approx halfway up my boob, stretching/compressing back towards my chest wall, and then squeezing slowly down towards my nipple.
I also read people saying they had to be much firmer than the tutorials make it look/sound which is the same for me. I did get sore after two days and needed a day off.
I've managed to collect approx almost 3ml over a few days now, and it does seem to be building up so hopefully I can get more 🤞

Boob doesn't look like a real word anymore...

Enjoy your mat leave! This is my 2nd week of maternity leave but 5th week since leaving work! I've been knitting mostly 😂

CatiaR · 25/06/2024 15:03

Hello everyone! Any new babies made an appearance yet?

honestly today just been having Braxton hicks all day so far, or at least I’m assuming they are although they are like period cramps a lot of the time. Definitely telling hubby that’s the last time we BD again if that’s how it always going to be 🤣

how’s everyone doing?

OP posts:
Hollie18 · 25/06/2024 15:11

@CatiaR hello! Sadly not, I'm now 5 days overdue which I know for a first baby isn't unusual but the not knowing is driving me a little mad! And the continual messages from friends and family asking if there is any news every day! I've been having a few cramps and twinges here and there but nothing concrete 😔

Annoyingly also, my trust is absolutely slammed and can't fit me in for an appointment between 38 and 41+3!! So I haven't even had the opportunity to have a sweep which is disappointing 😢😢 I'm really hoping I don't make it to my 41+3 appointment on Sunday 🤞🏼

Haha, it's frustrating isn't it!! How many weeks are you now?

CatiaR · 25/06/2024 15:22

@Hollie18 ah! frustrating it must be, I am kinda expecting that and certainly no one is making bets in the office that baby will come on time XD

they were so painful and often that I was going to call the assessment unit but a bath seemed to have done the trick!

32+4 at the moment :)

OP posts:
etaketak1991 · 25/06/2024 15:53

@CatiaR Haha, BD will do that! Glad they quietened down for you.

@Hollie18 That's a long time to be waiting! Hope baby gets a move on soon for you ❤️

I'm 35 weeks tomorrow, 3 weeks to go until mat leave. Can't wait 😂

Hollie18 · 25/06/2024 16:09

@CatiaR Ooh maybe I need to give BD a try! My partner is currently a little freaked out by the bump etc 😂 encouraging him might be a task but would be worth it if I could get things going!!

I'm glad it all calmed down for you! Not long to go too eeek!

@etaketak1991 OMG how exciting!! I'm into my 3rd week off now and obvs without baby, I have really been making the most of the chill time 😂 I can't believe how fast it's coming round for you guys!

etaketak1991 · 25/06/2024 16:27

@Hollie18 We did BD to encourage labour to start last time, it's not the most romantic when you're at the end of pregnancy 😂 I also drank raspberry leaf tea religiously, lots of birth ball, and clary sage baths! My girl was born at 40+1 but honestly I have no idea if any of those things helped 🙃

CatiaR · 25/06/2024 16:33

@etaketak1991 its flying the time insane! I feel like I need to get more bits done but mostly all set up 😊

been too tired to do it often as hubby would like but he never says anything anyway which i appreciate.

@Hollie18 some people swear by it but who knows! Yeah some partners are not keen but maybe that’s all you need to kick it off 🤣

I don’t think I’ll attempt it again unless bubba refuses to leave. This was too uncomfortable until I was able to bath. Couldn’t focus on work nor my apprenticeship lesson during the whole day lol

Hotmalibu94 · 25/06/2024 17:53

Hi all!

My baby girl arrived yesterday (40+5) and I'm absolutely besotted ❤️
We had a sweep booked last Thursday which was cancelled as someone else went into labour and then rebooked for Saturday which was cancelled as listening to her heartbeat picked up ectopic beats 😭 we were due to have a scan today but Sunday night she decided she was done waiting! Went into labour approx 6:30pm and she arrived 12:40pm yesterday ❤️

She's just been taken off for an ECG now to check her heart, so hopefully that's ok. She also has a potential umbilical cord infection and has ingested mucus which isn't shifting so she isn't eating well at all which is giving me stress too 😭

It's been an absolute whirlwind!

@Hollie18 I had absolutely no signs, no mucus plug, no Braxton hicks that I was aware of, no waters. Contractions just suddenly started Sunday night with no warning so might well be the same for you! 😊 I just say because it felt like nothing was happening and that's just so soul destroying isn't it but your body will be getting itself ready!

CatiaR · 25/06/2024 18:04

@Hotmalibu94 awww congratulations on your little girls arrival! How exciting 🥰

hopefully all clears up soon and all is well, can’t wait to see more babies coming. We have such a lovely group and we all have come a long way in our journeys 😊

@Hotmalibu94 Massive congratulations on your new arrival, lovely! Hopefully everything clears up soon. Enjoy all the newborn snuggles, and I hope you're healing up well too x

Hollie18 · 25/06/2024 18:57

@Hotmalibu94 Omg congratulations!! I have everything crossed for your little lady, hopefully it all clears up and you are home so so soon 😊

Does she have a name yet? 😊 we are still back and forth with our little guys name!!

I am really hoping that happens for me too!! What did your contractions feel like? Were you able to be sure it was labour?

Roseberry22 · 25/06/2024 20:14

@Hotmalibu94 huge congratulations, I hope everything clears up very quick!

I keep checking this group to see how you’re all doing and love to hear your stories. Unfortunately I’m now in the first stages of fertility treatment and will hopefully find some answers in the next few months.

fingers crossed for you all with healthy births over the next couple of weeks x

Ncl31 · 25/06/2024 21:12

@Hotmalibu94 ah congratulations, amazing news!
fingers crossed you get the all clear for everything for her. I hope you’re well too.

i can’t wait to hear all of your stories of the little ones coming. although at the same time it is a little bitter sweet as I know what would have been my due date is rapidly approaching.

Hotmalibu94 · 25/06/2024 22:28

Thank you all!

@Hollie18 she's called Evelyn 😊
So I felt a bit backachy/period painy in the afternoon but not like, noticeably? It was more that I was sat on the egg chair awkwardly in the garden I thought! So decided to have a bath to soothe my back and whilst I was in there baby was sticking really firmly out one side of my bump so my bump went really lopsided. I've always thought this was baby's position, like she's just sat awkwardly or something. But that night browsing Mumsnet someone else posted a pic of the same thing and everyone told her that was contractions, I guess they can be Braxton hicks or real. Didn't feel anything other than uncomfortable at that point with it just being so firm on the one side. Got out and then realised it had been happening quite regularly and it continued to do so 😂 period pains returned and then gradually got more intense starting up the side of my bump and travelling down and towards my cervix. Contracted at home through the night and then called the midwife for the 3rd time about 5:30am, got to hospital about 6:30am and was 5-6cm!
It all ramped up pretty dang quickly from there 😂
