Just looking for some company with ladies planning TTC 2023. There's already a thread for Jan 2024 but would be nice to keep company for Dec :)
Initially planned to start TTC 2024 Jan but it's feels time is going too slow and too broody now.
Also, worried about age turned 34 few months ago and feel clock is ticking(just my opinion).

Oh @Mummysparrow 🙁 I’m so so sorry. Losing a pet really hits different. Our 13 year old family dog is clinging on for dear life, but very very soon, we’ll have to make the call 😞 it’s an indescribable pain isn’t it? Sending you a big massive virtual hug. And well done on making a dog’s life very bloody wonderful ❤️

Mummysparrow · 31/12/2023 23:59

Thanks for the messages @4LeafCloverBaby @Lowrilawson
@3ornotto3 it really does, I have never had grief like it, I miss him so much. He was my fur baby and move on with my husband and me literally a week after we moved on together. Even though he was old and clearly wasn't his self anymore, he has survived so much and kept surprising us with how he bounced back so I really didn't see it coming. Putting him to sleep yesterday was awful ( we took him to the vet as we were concerned but really didn't expect to be told that it was time) but I was so glad I was there to give him love as he passed over the rainbow bridge. Hopefully your dog perks up and has plenty of life left xx

Happy new year to all of you beautiful ladies! It’s been lovely getting to know you all over the past month. Here’s to 2024 & our BFP’s! 🥳🥂 xx

Lowrilawson · 01/01/2024 00:17

@4LeafCloverBaby happy new year too you and all of the ladies here, lots of baby dust for this year! xx

Oh gosh. My eyes watered reading that 😣 to have you there with him must have been the ultimate comfort with him, but yeah, I can’t even begin to imagine your heartbreak 🥺

Sadly our boy is definitely on his way out. He’s very very old for his breed, we’ve had him since 9 weeks 😖 he lives a very comfortable life but is starting to get confused, going to the toilet everywhere indoors when he’s never been like that in his life, and is just declining massively. He can’t even jump up on the sofa anymore and barely walks tbh. BUT he stills wags his tail 🥺 it’s like, when do you make that call? Every day it’s becoming clearer that he’s really at the end but we’re all finding it hard making “that” call. Selfishly. Argh. They’re the best bloody things aren’t they 😞

Anyways, sending you lots of love. I hope you get some wonderful baby news in 2024, to brighten up your days. Look after yourself ❤️

ttcbabyno1x · 01/01/2024 00:26

Happy new year ladies!
Wish I could have a little glimpse into this year to see what happens 🤣 fingers crossed for us all. 🤍

Mummysparrow · 01/01/2024 08:03

@3ornotto3 our fear was him dying when we weren't there and coming home to find him dead so we were thankful that we got to be there. Alfie stopped being able to get on the sofa a year or so ago but occasionally recently he surprised us by trying to get on there with us to have a cuddle. Thankfully he never got dementia but he sleeping loads and it was heartbreaking as we could see he wanted to play. He lost a lot of weight quickly. Lost 2g when we took him to the vets in November and then another 3kg on Saturday and he was having on off loose bowels. I suspect his cancer came back in a different place. You wil know when it is time. He started coughing up blood and we knew he no longer had quality of life. Hug your dog tight whilst you can.
Another night of not a lot of sleep for me so I tested this morning as I couldn't sleep. I am 9dpo and BFN. Considering how I felt last week, I was kind of hoping for a positive so I had something else to concentrate on. Period is due in 5 days so on to the next cycle

3ornotto3 · 01/01/2024 09:15

@Mummysparrow 😣💔 biggest handhold from me to you. Always here to listen, so please reach out if you ever need it. Our situation doesn’t sound too dissimilar. Rapidly dropping weight, too ☹️

Please keep an ounce of faith for the positive. I was testing negative at 9dpo too. I was due on my period either Xmas day or Boxing Day (I’m not totally regular - last 4 periods have been 28, 30, 29 and 27) so, Xmas day would’ve actually been a 29 day cycle, and I got the FAINTEST line on Xmas eve. In fact, it only showed up after 10 minutes, way outside the window, so I thought it was an evap. It was only Xmas day where I got another vvvvv faint line in the morning. So, it was only 11dpo that I got even a hint of a line, but even so, that only appeared outside the window, so essentially 12po a reliable line. So there’s still time 🤞🏻❤️

KittyFantastica · 01/01/2024 17:24

So sorry to hear of your loss @Mummysparrow. They really do become such a centre point in our lives, don't they? My husband and I got a cat earlier this year and it's his first ever pet as he wasn't allowed pets growing up. He is absolutely besotted with her and I found him cuddling her, almost in tears, the other day because he'd suddenly realised she wasn't going to be around forever. It hit him like a ton of bricks. I explained that we are lucky to have her for her time on this earth, and she is lucky to have us who love her so dearly. All we can hope for is that their time with us is beautiful and it sounds as though your dog had a fantastic life with you and your family.

Though I'd ask a quick question while I'm here after the faulty fertility machine situation. If I did in fact ovulate, I'll be 8DPO today and I was wondering what it was like for anyone who has been pregnant before around this time? I wouldn't say I have any symptoms, per se, but I've definitely had a weird feeling in my lower abdomen the last two days. This evening, we've just finished a nice healthy dinner and I'm incredibly nauseous and, forgive the TMI, gassy.

I'd be interested to hear about how others have felt around this time? Happy New Year, all ❤️

3ornotto3 · 01/01/2024 22:43

@KittyFantastica i didn’t feel anything around then, I felt totally fine and normal! In fact, I was truly convinced that I was “out” due to lack of symptoms. So the nausea and gas could be a good sign?

i got reeeallly bad trapped wind for a few nights the other day, just before I reached 5 weeks, to a point where I was in agony. Google tells me it’s common for early pregnancy?? (Don’t remember having it with the others) so could be a really good sign for you 🤞🏻 keep us posted x

KittyFantastica · 01/01/2024 23:58

@3ornotto3 Oh wow, thank you, that's so interesting! It fascinates me how some people experience the same symptoms for each pregnancy and some have totally different ones each time. The body is a marvel.

After the weird month of not understanding why the digital ovulation tracker wasn't working, I'm not holding out too much hope as I never actually got a positive ovulation test. I've ovulated on the same days for the last four months though, so would be strange if I hadn't. I think my mind is likely playing tricks on me because I'm hopefully and it's also likely a case of far too much stodgy party food 🤣.

Trapped wind can be horrific, I'd never even think to associate it with pregnancy though! I hope you have no more of that!

onetwoandthree · 02/01/2024 14:25

@3ornotto3 @Mummysparrow im so sorry you’re both having a tough time. Pets are definitely part of the family. I’ve been where you are with one of my cats and it’s heartbreaking. Sending love your way 💕

FantasticalCat · 02/01/2024 19:39

My heart goes out to you @3ornotto3 and @Mummysparrow, sending love your way.

I have a 12 year old bengal with a few health issues, he was really poorly last year but has bounced back on medication which he’ll be on for life now. He’s a very loving cat, loves being around people and very affectionate - I’ll be heartbroken when he’s no longer with us.

on the TTC side of things, I’m taking an OPK every other day at the moment to figure out when my peak is. I’m on day 11/35, technically meant to DTD tonight in my every other day plan but feeling knackered after my first day back at work!! Do we think I can give it a miss tonight? 😂

4LeafCloverBaby · 02/01/2024 21:07

@FantasticalCat haha no you cannot miss tonight🤨 commitment to the cause, get your dancing shoes on! Haha

Lowrilawson · 02/01/2024 21:36

@FantasticalCat I'm on day 15 and I got a strong opk last night and today so DTD so I'm hoping for something positive x

Mummysparrow · 02/01/2024 22:04

@3ornotto3 aww that's sad to hear. Give your dog a big hug. Is he eating at all? My father in law has a really skinny spaniel but as she eats a lot she keeps going and is no longer losing weight so he may be ok.
@FantasticalCat my doggie was on medication for his eye since 2018. It becomes a part of life doesn't it but we do what we need to do to try and make their life more comfortable and extend it if possible. I used to tell my doggie that he was not allowed to die as I couldn't imagine my life without him. I gave him permission a few weeks ago that it was ok if he had had enough but he kept going (or so I thought, not realise he was continuing to lose weight).
Pretty sure I am out. BFN negative today again on 10dpo and I got a line at 10dpo for my daughter. Period due at the weekend.

KittyFantastica · 03/01/2024 09:56

@FantasticalCat I'm 10/11DPO and also tested negative this morning. Even with all the tracking issues last month, I still ended up feeling hopeful. It's so strange adjusting the mentality that for my entire sexually actively life until now I've done my best to avoid pregnancy. Now, a result that would have given me huge relief just a year and a half ago was devastating this morning.

Going by what I tracked and not the faulty fertility monitor, I think I must actually have ovulated early. On to January I guess.

Oops, sorry, I meant to @Mummysparrow!

Cazzy87 · 03/01/2024 10:16

Sorry been quiet, due to v late AF coming on xmas eve (had a 41 day cycle 😕) not sure when or if i'm going to ovulate this month now at all! did cheap OPK this morning and no line at all. Sorry to hear about all the poorly fur babies and hope everyone had a nice xmas and new year!❤

4LeafCloverBaby · 03/01/2024 11:39

@Cazzy87 41 days! Wowzers! That makes it so difficult for tracking doesn’t it 😕 Positive thinking & opk tracking for this new cycle for you 🍀🤞🏼x

DearDarcy · 03/01/2024 11:45

Hi! Just joining this thread as we have just started TTC this week. We did try December 2023 but partner worked away a lot (bloody typical) during my fertile window so this month we really have a chance!

I’m not sure of all the lingo and still learning from this platform but it’s always been so helpful!

Not sure HOW much of a chance we have but I have always been very regular with my periods , 28 days long, and ovulation has always happened between CD14 and 17 ish!

Today is CD 16 for me and apparently I ovulate tomorrow (according to my NC app and tests) We have been DTD every day since CD11 so I’m hoping we stand a good chance?? (We both have very high sex drives so this is the easy part for us!) Partner is now working away from this evening so we wont have the chance to do anything on day of ovulation but I’m really hoping we have done enough leading up to it!!

This was my test yesterday!

Excited to be on this journey with you all and sorry for the long post!!

@DearDarcy welcome to our lovely little thread. Really lovely & supportive ladies on here so I’m sure you will get some good support 😊
Must be difficult with your partner working away but sounds like you have a good chance & you have done everything you can do. Everything crossed for you hun! 🍀🤞🏼
This is my second cycle trying for baby#1…currently on CD8 & due to ovulate on CD18…the countdown begins!

DearDarcy · 03/01/2024 11:56

@4LeafCloverBaby Thanks so much!

Good luck to you!! The wait is the worst part! Isn’t is crazy to think when we were younger we were under the impression we could get pregnant at ANY TIME! And now look at us ladies 🤣

Cazzy87 · 03/01/2024 12:01

@4LeafCloverBaby i know tell me about it! hoping it was a one off as previous 2 months were 28/29 day cycles! i will continue to use cheap OPK for now as bought 50 off ebay 😂and then when i think im closer will use my clear blue. Fingers crossed this is the cycle for lots of us!🍀

4LeafCloverBaby · 03/01/2024 12:10

@Cazzy87 sounds like a plan 👍🏼🙂

@DearDarcy honestly it’s bloody ironic isn’t it…I have spent the last 20 years petrified of falling pregnant because I missed a pill 😂🤣😂
