Simple as that - the month you got pregnant what (if anything) did you do differently?
Feel like I’ve tried everything so I’m open to any ideas, foods, supplements, ovulation test brands, exercise etc

I’m a healthy weight, 31 non smoker with regular 28 day cycles like clockwork. I do suspect I have a shorter luteal phase though. DH slightly older but the same - all tests done on both sides with no issues, Hycosy showed no blocks etc. CD2 for me and I really would love for these next 2 cycles to bring us some luck before we explore IVF in the new year..

Hi @over30sclub , afraid I can’t be of help but following with interest! I’m in a very similar boat - 30, non smoker, regular cycles, been ttc for 11 months, all bloods and baselines come back fine, haven’t had a HSG/Hycosy yet so just psyching myself up for that. Have tried everything: acupuncture, preseed, sperm meets egg plan, dangling my legs in the air - you name it!

Clear blue digital ovulation sticks

over30sclub · 08/11/2023 07:50

@Goldendoodlelover welcome! Let’s hope there ends up being lots of great advice that works for us :) so frustrating isn't it!! Hoping it happens for you very soon too
@Plumful thanks I’ll give these another go!

Accidentally eating gluten free, I had undiagnosed coeliac disease which had been preventing me from conceiving

kalixxx · 08/11/2023 08:02

Also following for along as I’m interested!!

Similar to you both as well 27, non-smoker, healthy weight, regular cycles, all seems good on the outside 😅

My OH is 28, we did an at home sperm test and it showed abnormalities, taking that with a pinch of salt though as I’ve read mixed reviews.

We have a GP appt in 2 weeks, we’re 11 cycles in but with the at home test showing abnormalities the GP said they’d see us.

Keen to hear what has worked for others! We’ve tried fertilily and conceive plus lube so far and of course no luck.

I’m pregnant with #3, never had issues first two then had a ruptured ectopic which I lost my left tube. TTC for 19months to get pregnant with this one… I got pregnant at 35yr, had regular cycles although seemingly wasn’t ovulating as regularly as I thought. The month I got pregnant I took Maca Root from CD1 until ovulation day and OH reduced caffeine intake significantly (halved his intake)

over30sclub · 08/11/2023 08:10

@MissSmiley thanks - how interesting did you have any idea you had coeliac disease or any other symptoms prior to being diagnosed?

@Mummyme87 oo haven’t tried that one yet - maca root purchased! Huge congratulations on your pregnancy.
This could end up being be a very expensive thread haha.

@kalixxx welcome! Best of luck with getting your test results etc - heard good things about the wellman vitimans for men’s fertility. My husbands sample was fine but he’s taking those too. Fingers crossed you get some good tips here and we see some BFPs :)

@over30sclub yes, I'd had symptoms but tests came back negative. Did low carb for a year before cycle 5 and conceived. Then had more tests and found out my immune system was fighting the conception so had steroids for cycle 7 and 9 which were successful. Finally diagnosed when my twins were 5 as one of them started to have symptoms. I'm sero negative coeliac, had genetic test and biopsies to confirm diagnosis.

Goldendoodlelover · 08/11/2023 12:01

@over30sclub that’s really interesting but sounds like a really difficult struggle to get a diagnosis! I have heard that inflammation from being coeliac / gluten intolerant can be bad for fertility but I thought you could just have a straightforward test to rule it out!

@Mummyme87 congrats on your pregnancy! Did you just take the macca root or did your partner take it too? I also might give that a go…

Mummyme87 · 08/11/2023 13:00

It was just me. OH was taking basic supplements

cosymama2020 · 08/11/2023 13:12

Only thing I did different was I booked a few days off work around the time of implantation. I didn’t mean to, just booked it off to have a few days to relax after an intense couple of months at work. Spent the 3 days doing everything I wanted (brunch, walking around the local village shops etc). I did get drunk 3 days before implantation so I’m not going to pretend I was the picture of mental and physical health 😂

Also we only had sex once during my fertile period - using Clearblue ovulation indicators, we had sex on my most fertile/peak day and then didn’t have sex for another 5 days after that (busy, illnesses etc).

ELJ1502 · 08/11/2023 13:36

I tracked cervical changes alongside ovulation tests and BBT tracking.

I’ve been doing the latter two for a while but tracking my cervix worked with both my first and this month when I just got my BFP after 14 months of trying.

Beth191 · 08/11/2023 15:28

Hi @over30sclub I'm 32, have been trying for #2 for 10 cycles and just got my bfp yesterday! I started taking conceive plus ovulation vitamins this month, used ovulation tests and the premom app and tracked BBT for the first time this month. I have a really regular 27 day cycle but always struggled to get a positive opk (could just be because I struggle to time taking them around work hours) which is why I decided to take the ovulation supplements this month. I also decided to do BBT for the first time ever because I wanted to be sure I was ovulating. I stopped taking the vitamins after ovulation confirmed by BBT and just carried on with normal TTC pregnacare vits.

I have no idea if it's all coincidence that it's happened this cycle when I happen to have done everything differently but that's what seems to have worked for me!

clarebear111 · 08/11/2023 15:31

Ovulation tests and BBT checks worked for me.

over30sclub · 08/11/2023 15:57

thanks everyone for the suggestions - lots to think about! relaxing, extra supplements and DH cutting out the coffee top of the list. If a something does end up working, I’ll never know what it was 😂

@Beth191 congratulations on getting you BFP! I tried BBT a while ago and just couldn’t get the hang of it (sounds stupid I know but I wake up at different times everyday and would forget first thing!) I will give it a go this month alongside the ovulation sticks. Did you find the BBT is more accurate to know exactly when you have ovulated?

Picklewicklepickle · 08/11/2023 15:58

Temping, ovulation sticks and pre-seed. Good luck OP.

Torganer · 08/11/2023 16:07

Was trying for what seemed like ages, decided to take a few months off and start again after Christmas to give ourselves a break from the tracking etc. This coincided with us having two weeks off work. I drank a lot of booze, ate out all the time, found out I was pregnant a few weeks later!

ELJ1502 · 08/11/2023 16:11

A trick I found to temping was to put the thermometer on your phone/ alarm. When you turn off your alarm, take your temperature.

ddoodle55 · 08/11/2023 16:23

Hi OP,

I am 23 weeks pregnant after trying for 1 year and started referral process through GP, I had initial blood tests done and sperm analysis and all came back fine.

I was exactly the same as you, healthy and with a cycle like clockwork but I suspected I had a shorter luteal phase. I started taking the conceive plus ovulation support and these actually made me ovulate a day or so earlier and my period come a day or so later.

The cycle that worked for us I also took the Sudafed mucus relief (maybe a bit of a myth!).

Good luck Smile

Beth191 · 08/11/2023 16:24

Yeah same as @ELJ1502 I set my alarm, even if it is a bit earlier than usual, temp when it goes off then doze until I have to get up :)

Flowers07 · 08/11/2023 16:33

I’m also following this as at this point I’m on cycle 11 and will try anything!!! 😀

Flowers07 · 08/11/2023 16:34

I’ve just started with pre seed how many cycles did it take till you got your bfp?

Goldendoodlelover · 08/11/2023 17:52

Hi @Flowers07 I’ve also been trying for 11 months, have tried preseed the last few months and no luck sadly 😔 I’m also tracking BBT and OPKs but sometimes I wonder whether they are more stressful than helpful? All signs suggest I’m ovulating so I’m wondering if still need to do it… but like you I’m also willing to try anything at this stage!

PinkRoses1245 · 08/11/2023 17:56

I got pregnant the first month using Premom ovulation tests and app. Was also on holiday during ovulation, but coincidence I think.

Flowers07 · 08/11/2023 20:28

Hi, @Goldendoodlelover hope your well!! Oh it’s so shit and exhausting isn’t it. We are both fit healthy id say both go to the gym eat well I’m 29 and partner is 32 we honestly thought it would just happen but 11 months down and we are still here but really trying to remain positive!! I’ve never tracked bbt? How do you find it and what do you use ? I do use the clear blue ovulation test but I ran out and used the cheapies this cycle and I can never tell with them if I am ovulating or not but I’m in my tww so we shall see af due next week!! Really hope you get your positive soon x
