Positive test at 6dpo

Jee95 · 26/10/2023 11:58

I took a test at 6dpo and it come up as a very faint line (top one). A couple hours later I just needed to take another in case it was a fault, again it come up with a similar line.

Can anyone give me advice? We’ve been trying for 7-months with our first and it’s becoming quite stressful. I’ve been feeling dizzy on and off and have very sore boobs - to the point where I couldn’t lay on my stomach at night a few nights ago. I’ve also felt a lot of cramping at 1-4 dpo which has stopped now.

Looking forward to some help!

I think 6dpo is too early to tell. I think even the most sensitive tests only pick up a positive at 8dpo. Although it's so hard, it can sometimes be better to wait until you miss a period to test again. Wishing you the very best.

Jee95 · 26/10/2023 12:33

Thank you! It’s really hard waiting. Especially when we’ve been trying for some time now.

It could be start of a line but this early on it's really hard to tell. Try to wait until next week. Good luck 🤞🏼

PinkRoses1245 · 26/10/2023 13:08

it's really too early to tell for sure, unless you ovulated earlier than you think. Wait until closer to when AF due

Jee95 · 26/10/2023 13:25

Thank you - I’m really holding onto hope here!

Possible you could have O day wrong (as it’s impossible to know exactly when you ovulate), and maybe you’re later than 6DPO?

Jee95 · 26/10/2023 14:27

I’ve been using Natural Cycles for over a year and this month I tracked my ovulation since the day I finished my period - so pretty sure it’s 6. Could possibly be 7. My BBT raised during the time I think I ovulated - guess you can never be sure?

Definitely can never be sure! Even tracking BBT, LH and CM you can’t be sure even to the day. Like there can be quite a variation in how long after ovulation you get a temp shift for eg (I think it can be up to about 4 days?) it’s fascinating!

Jee95 · 26/10/2023 14:31

Oh I didn’t know this. I’ll test in the next few days. I’m really hoping this is my month.

Could you post your chart? I use NC too.
It's almost impossible to get a positive test at 6DPO, so it's likely you ovulate earlier.
Have you taken any other tests?

MrBigsCat · 26/10/2023 19:49

Op I’m exactly the same dpo and you and have similar symptoms (apart from the faint tests)
🤞🏻🤞🏻 this turns into a bfp

Jee95 · 26/10/2023 21:27

@riverlodge90 I took another this morning (7dpo) and was faint. I then took a Clear Blue this afternoon and negative. So I’m just going by that it’s not my month. Here’s my chart. What do you think? I don’t really clock the amount I have inntercourse as I feel it can get addictive logging.

Jee95 · 27/10/2023 10:06

I had a very very faint at 6dpo....then nothing again til my bfp 9dpo..definitely possible 🤞

Jee95 · 27/10/2023 13:34

@Kellyaust What tests did you use? I wonder how that happens. Thanks for sharing. 😊

Kellyaust · 27/10/2023 17:08

@Jee95 I had a laboquick one on 6dpo, then from 9dpo I used one step strips and then frer ill attach pics for you

In the first picture it's the bottom test... The green one is ovulation test but I put them next to each other so you could see the very faint line on the laboquick at 6dpo

MrBigsCat · 27/10/2023 20:01

I have done a test and there is a shadow/squinter.
I've also dipped another test in water incase it’s the tests and the water one is start white
really hoping this is it for me but now kicking myself for testing early and getting my hopes up!!

Jee95 · 27/10/2023 20:19

@MrBigsCat keep me posted! I’m going to test tomorrow as I’ll be 9dpo. Everything has been negative since 7dpo. Strange!

Sorry all I’m so new to this as 1 real month trying. With ovulation, the dpo does that count provided you dtd on ovulation day.
I mean; if you dtd 48 hours after ovulation, would that then still count as 1-2 dpo? Meaning that if you got a bfp, it could still be ie 6dpo? Thank you so much and also wishing everyone the best
