Long cycles success stories!

ABLOSSOM · 14/10/2023 10:42

TTC #1 and 13 months in no luck... I suffer with long and irregular cycles all bloods scans etc fine.

Looking for success stories on people conceiving to give me a boost! Thank you Biscuit

@ABLOSSOM how long are your cycles?

ABLOSSOM · 14/10/2023 12:10

@LouACT range from 38-55 days 😩

That’s not too different from mine which are 35 days at their shortest and I just got my BFP a couple of days ago! The thing that worked for me was tracking everything I possibly could! bbt, LH, CM and then using the fertility friend app and Premom app. It’s a labour of love but it made me feel so empowered once I got to recognise the signs and I realised it didn’t matter when I ovulated just that I did and I knew about it. I know it’s overkill but I started using LH strips the day after my period finished because I was so worried about missing my surge and kept using them even afterwards just in case I got a second surge and that was the real one. This month we only DTD once in my fertile window which was the day I got a positive LH strip. Someone once told me that a long cycle is better than a short one for conception and I hung on to that. I also took vitamins to help regulate my cycle. No clue if that’s what helped but I was taking CoQ10, omega 3 (for the DHA) and of course folic acid. I used the fertilily cup when we DTD just to maximise the possibility of his little swimmers getting up there. I wish you so much luck and baby dust ✨

@LouACT thank you so much I really appreciate it! I feel like I'm doing everything I can. I test OPK's everyday, do BBT (however this is always crazy unpredictable and my charts are odd!), taking conceive plus vitamins, having acupuncture and this month I used preseed too. Just feel like somethings not right, my friends got pregnant first month and although I know not everyone will it's so disheartening.

Current 6DPO (I think) and feel no different. Can already tell I'm out.

Congratulations on your BFP it gives me some hope 💖

Try not to be disheartened by lack of symptoms. I was CONVINCED that I was out this month, less symptoms than ever before. I have everything crossed for you x

Cakeorchocolate · 14/10/2023 22:12

Mine ranged anywhere from 21- 44 days I think.
1st conceived within 3 months.
2nd took over 7.5 years.

Hope you have some joy soon op. Its so difficult when it's something you really want. You feel like you see pregnant women and babies everywhere.

Good luck.

ABLOSSOM · 15/10/2023 09:30

@LouACT thank you - I know everyone's symptoms are different but all my friends seem to have the same (sore boobs, implantation pain) so I feel like that's what I should be looking out for. What were your early symptoms? I'm currently 7DPO and feel nothing.

This is my chart - start of the month I was around 36.3, then it raised to 36.5 before ovulation ( I was ill not sure if that matters) and now from 36.6-37.8 so not sure if that's a big enough rise? I had to delete some entires because I had really random spikes of like 36.8 before ovulation!

@Cakeorchocolate thank you for that - it's reassuring to know I'm not alone. I'm sorry you had to go through it and congratulations on your family! 🧡

LouACT · 15/10/2023 11:37

@ABLOSSOM I’ve just looked back at my notes in my phone and literally all I wrote for 7DPO was that I had a dream the night before which I don’t do often and that I had a bit of a funny taste in my mouth on and off that day. I don’t think either of which were pregnancy related though because I haven’t had them since!

ABLOSSOM · 15/10/2023 12:07

@LouACT thank you! I know there's still time I'm just so negative about it all now...

OP posts:
CurlyWurly1991 · 15/10/2023 16:01

Hi, I’m like this too. Cycles are very variable - some 24, 27, 28, 30 and then 56…. I’m doing bbt, OPKs, etc etc.
@ABLOSSOM is this bbt charting on premom? Are you taking it same time every morning before getting up, drinking etc? Thermometer has 2 decimal places? I like the fertility friend app and they have loads of good guides on there.

ABLOSSOM · 15/10/2023 16:22

@CurlyWurly1991 it's so frustrating isn't it! Yes it is, it is 2 decimal places too ☹️ I do it every morning between 6:30-7am and before I drink or get up! Do you think the rise isn't high enough?

I really want to give up BBT as it just adds to my anxiety.

Sending baby dust to you ✨

This is me too, it's nice to be in solidarity with someone else and not feel like you're the only person on the planet with these fucked up cycles! I'm toying with the idea of buying an Ovusense as I've heard quite a few success stories with this

ABLOSSOM · 15/10/2023 16:49

@glasshalffull0 it is nice to have people around who have the same stuff going on! Makes me feel less lonely! Have you been tested for PCOS or anything?

Ive never heard of ovusense - how does it work?

OP posts:
glasshalffull0 · 15/10/2023 16:57

@ABLOSSOM No nothing yet- I was considering going to the doctors this month and push for tests. Have you?

It's an internal core temperature monitor that you wear through the night from the last day of your period onwards and it's meant to be more accurate at tracking ovulation

OvuSense Advanced Fertility Monitor

OvuSense, the only fertility monitor that predicts and confirms ovulation. Works for all cycle types including PCOS. Flexible monthly payment option available.

CurlyWurly1991 · 15/10/2023 18:37

I’ve heard great things about the Ovusense and have been tempted. Bit pricey for me at the moment though..,
been waiting for ovulation here with no signs …currently on CD17 and have started spotting… wtaf

ABLOSSOM · 15/10/2023 21:43

@glasshalffull0 I would recommend trying to get them as early as possible just to help speed things on if you need further tests etc. I have had my bloods done and a scan and all looks healthy and fine! My partner has a SA next month too.

@CurlyWurly1991 yes I think the price is putting me off too 🤣 could it be ovulation bleed? I've heard a few people get this?

OP posts:
LouACT · 15/10/2023 21:50

@ABLOSSOM are you a mouth breather at night? I heared you could try vaginal temping and it’s more accurate because if you breath through your mouth it’s harder to see the rise. Not tried it personally but I remember seeing a thread on here and it was something I was thinking about trying to see if it made my chart clearer

Girlfolk · 16/10/2023 10:20

@ABLOSSOM Try not to feel disheartened at the lack of symptoms, I didn’t get any symptoms in my last pregnancy until 8ish weeks and that was twins (didn’t survive unfortunately) so try not to compare symptoms in your TWW.
I usually have regular cycles (30-31 days) but for some reason my last cycle was 41 days long, ovulated day 30. So not sure what this current cycle will hold for me as I’m CD 11 currently. In my 9th cycle TTC.

Blueberry1990 · 16/10/2023 11:22

I'm only on month 1 of trying to conceive but I'm also similar to you with the long cycles so it's very hard to predict ovulation. My last 6 have been:
42 days
36 days
44 days
40 days
36 days
49 days

CurlyWurly1991 · 16/10/2023 14:47

@ABLOSSOM unfortunately not, heavier this morning so it looks like a random 17 day anovulatory cycle 😖 I’ve just had all the day 3 blood tests from the GP looking for PCOS and the androgen and testosterone results were all low/normal… I have had ultrasounds with no cysts seen.., not overweight. It’s a mystery and blimmin annoying when you’re TTC!

thaegumathteth · 16/10/2023 19:29

When I was TTC number one my cycles went 28-55 days. Conceived in 9 months so it is possible.

Also after I had him my periods were much more regular and made future ttc easier !

ABLOSSOM · 16/10/2023 20:02

@LouACT no I'm not really, but I have heard about doing vaginal temps just never dared for it tbf! 🙈

@Girlfolk I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. It's reassuring to hear all these success stories just hoping I get my little miracle soon! 🥲 tested like an idiot today (8DPO) and obviously negative.

@Blueberry1990 I feel your pain! It's so frustrating isn't it, mine have been so bad I can barely get a small pattern. One cycle it was 56 the other 38.

@CurlyWurly1991 that's so frustrating, I would keep pushing at GP as they have to help! I'm the same all bloods scans etc come back fine. I'm healthy and exercise and do everything right but still nothing.

@thaegumathteth thank you for the reassurance - I'm glad it all worked out for you! I'm hoping I'm the same and it's just taking time.

Currently 8DPO and I have a headache today and period cramps but think I had this last cycle. Tested and BFN. 😞

OP posts:
LouACT · 16/10/2023 20:10

@ABLOSSOM i just checked my 8DPO symptoms and that was the day I had light period cramping as well!

ABLOSSOM · 16/10/2023 20:18

@LouACT omg really it gets me so excited knowing other peoples symptoms 🙈 trying not to get my hopes up though! They were like really really mind cramps too, and not very often so I may have just been tricking myself!

I try and talk myself out of everything! I am not feeling confident this month though!

lenalove · 16/10/2023 20:43

Just wanted to share a positive story! I have cycles of around 40-45 days and PCOS, my consultant was sceptical I'd be able to conceive naturally but we thought we'd give it a try anyway. We used the Clearblue ovulation sticks (I was able to estimate my ovulation date usually around CD 26-29) and we managed to conceive on the first cycle Smile I really hope it all works out for you OP!!
