TTC First Baby - Anyone Else?

Hi everyone!
I’m fast approaching 30 and we are 2 months into TTC our first baby! I just got my first solid smiley face on the clear blue ovulation tests today, after 3 days of flashing. We did the deed this morning (and also a couple of other times over the past few days) and I had some bleeding afterwards today which hasn’t happened before. I’m just wondering if anyone else is on the same journey/around the same cycle day that wants to connect? :)

Hi there,

I would love to connect, I'm gearing up to TTC baby number 1, i'm not as far along in my journey as you and I'm not off the pill yet (that's happening next week).

I'm a bit older than you aswell but I would love some support :)

Hi!
I'm 30, month 10 of ttc but I do only have one working fallopian tube. Really hoping I don't have much longer to go ☹️

I love your username lol

I only have one tube aswell !

@AlienSuperstar

😂😂 thank you.

Oh really?!! That's (in a nice way!) comforting to hear. Have you been told what to expect? My doctor expected I would have no problems naturally conceiving but I do seem to be taking a long time!

MAY324 · 25/09/2023 12:53

I’m also approaching thirty and on our second cycle. I’m having a nightmare trying to track ovulation 🙈 I can’t use OPK tests as I drink too much and it’s always so diluted! Been trying BBT this time but still get a hang of it. Has anyone used the clear blue ovulation tests? Not sure how good they are before forking out £35 on them 🙈

yes when it happened I was told I can still conceive, and I did actually conceive after loosing my tube but I ended up miscarrying.

I'm happy to pm if you want to was more questions, I'm very open about it all :)

identitytheftisnotajokejim · 25/09/2023 12:58

@MAY324

I began using these but the cost was just ridiculous - when you get to testing twice a day too it just isn't feasible. I use the cheap strips now and find they are very accurate.

I have used them, they are very expensive but quite convenient but the cheaper ones work just as good.

@AlienSuperstar

It does seem that everyone I have spoken to has no problems conceiving afterwards! I still have my tube but it is completely blocked with adhesions.

Fingers crossed we both don't have to wait too much longer!

my sister also only has 1 tube and she has 4 kids

I’m also fast approaching 30 ttc #1, we’re on month 3 of trying.

I BBT and have been for around 8 months to try and understand my cycle before trying. I also use clear blue digital OPK. @MAY324 I found ordering the 20 pack off Amazon the best way to use them and this month I used the same test applicator instead of starting a new one as I read they learn your levels so if you start another it’s like starting for the beginning again. Last cycle was the first time using and I used 11 tests using FMU before I got my positive, this month it only took 4 tests but I did start using them 2 days later. I don’t multiple test and just do it in the morning and have had a static smiley both times.

MAY324 · 25/09/2023 13:46

Okay that’s good about the clear blue ones! I’ve used the cheap ones and honestly I never got a dark line 🙈 I have regular cycles though and other symptoms of ovulation so hopefully that means I am ovulating!

PinkRoses1245 · 25/09/2023 13:49

Yes TTC number 1, back on it after a miscarriage at 11 weeks. I have had some bleeding after sex before, very light and occasional.

Angelselevenx · 25/09/2023 13:53

I'd love to join if that's okay 😊 TTC #1, 1DPO on cycle 8. I had a chemical on cycle 2 but nothing since x

@identitytheftisnotajokejim hey! I hope you manage to conceive ok and it’s not too much longer for you! If you don’t mind me asking, how did they find out about the adhesions? I have had a few tests over the past year with pains in my lower right stomach, they didn’t do a laparoscopy because they said it’s best to try first and see what happens but they also mentioned pelvic congestion syndrome - I had some ultrasounds which were apparently ok - so I’m still kinda without answers, so was wondering how you found out?

I tried the cheaper ones and found them more confusing to read, the clear blue ones are pricey (apparently Amazon is cheaper), but they are so easy to read - from my first cycle using them I have 4 tests left in the pack so I can use them next month as I know I ovulate around cd19. I just test once in the morning so I guess you could make one pack last 2/3 months if you were really regular and know kinda when you ovulate!

Hey! So happy to connect. I hope everything goes well for you. Coming off the pill was the best thing I ever did (my mental health was so much better!). Although I know it’s different for everyone, you might end up with more benefits than you realise :) let me know how you get on!

thank you ! last pill will be this Saturday then I will be patiently waiting for my periods to start back

identitytheftisnotajokejim · 25/09/2023 14:34

@Jenniferet

I had a laparoscopy which found this. I was trying naturally prior to my laparoscopy for around 6 months but we definitely weren't as strict with it as we are now. Apparently before my lap I wouldn't have been able to conceive naturally as my ovaries were stuck to my uterus with adhesions. Now they are in the right place and all adhesions removed but I'm no further ☹️

Apparently ultrasounds won't always give a true idea of anything inside - the laparoscopy is best as they can literally see everything. Scans can miss things.

I was hoping I'd be pregnant before my laparoscopy too as I was terrified. I'm looking at ivf early next year if I don't manage to conceive by the end of the year ☹️

boonpop98 · 25/09/2023 15:10

Not on the same cycle day as you, but 10dpo and ttc first baby and it's my first cycle too

I didn't realise over hydration was a problem for OPKs! I too drink a lot of water and have not been able to get a positive on OPKs.

I'm 32 and we've been TTC#1 for 5 months now. Currently waiting for my period, keep getting BFNs and I'm due today or tomorrow. I'm so tired and low today that I assume it is coming so we will try again next month!

Happy to connect :) I can't believe how all consuming this TTC business becomes and yet nobody talks about it. I was so unprepared for the emotional toll of TTC!

MAY324 · 26/09/2023 07:06

I hadn’t even thought of it as a thing until we had the crazy heatwave in the summer and all the tests I did were a lot darker than usual but I was really dehydrated then! Apparently the clear blue ones are better. Are you having other signs of ovulation?

CatmumTTC · 26/09/2023 10:22

I think I have ovulated in the past. I've had egg white discharge and my libido is usually higher. But I've not noticed that discharge since we've been trying. But we've also been having lots of sex so I can't tell what's discharge and what's semen! I might splurge on the clear blue tests next month.

Mauhea · 26/09/2023 13:08

I'd love to join the gang if that's okay? 32, currently 6DPO in my 9th cycle TTC #1 with one ovary and tube (lost leftie to a mega cyst).
