I'm currently TTC following a miscarriage at 12 weeks on 5th August. I haven't had a period yet but we decided not to wait, as I'm desperate to be pregnant again and I think that is the only thing that will make me feel better about the loss. I have been tracking ovulation and did catch my peak so now just hoping I've got the timing of DTD right.

Just wondering if anyone out there TTC is around the same time in their cycle so that we can chat to each other really. I think I'm already driving my husband mad, it would be nice to speak to other people who really understand how I'm feeling! 😊

@moosey89 try not to worry - low 'for your age' might actually be alright, and you know you can get pregnant because you did. Just need the next one to be sticky, which hopefully the progesterone will help.

I'm still feeling positive about things in general, but specifically feeling a bit shit this turned out not to be my month. It's obviously nowhere near as bad as an mc, but it is like a little tiny loss every time isn't it? You can't help thinking about what might have been... Right, I'm off to take a break from mumsnet for a few days to regroup ready for this next cycle. Good luck everyone!

moosey89 · 09/10/2023 17:03

@Amberellalina yeah but makes me feel like every time I get pregnant and lose it is so much worse if that makes sense. My first pregnancy took 2.5 years to get pregnant, so it's definitely not easy for me 😞 6 months second time round actively trying but off contraception for 18months. So I've got the shitty combo of infertility and miscarriage. Hopefully a private consultation can give me a little bit of hope because I'm feeling really low about my chances.

Agathapoirot · 09/10/2023 19:04

@moosey89 - Can’t even begin to imagine how you’re feeling, but we’re here for you to listen and lean on x

@Amberellalina - We’ll be here waiting when you’re ready to come back!

I caved and ordered the tests today, turning up tomorrow, so we’ll see how long I last before peeing on one of them 😂

Agathapoirot · 10/10/2023 08:22

10 dpo, period not due til Saturday so just need to sit tight and hope for the best 😬 🫣

@Agathapoirot 🥳 congratulations, that's great news! Keeping fingers crossed for you🤞🏼 x

Agathapoirot · 10/10/2023 09:19

@Liz2681 - Thank you! Strangely don’t feel much emotion at all. Definitely holding my hopes back until at least after the weekend.

How is everyone doing?

Liz2681 · 10/10/2023 11:14

@Agathapoirot yes I can understand that - felt the same way when I got my last BFP as I didn't want to get my hopes up and it didn't really set in until a few days later.

Currently on CD5 so have a bit of a ways to go but feeling fairly optimistic. Hoping everyone's doing well! xx

Kewchoc · 10/10/2023 17:40

@Agathapoirot Oh huge congratulations, that looks like a really strong positive for before a missed period too! Really happy for you 😊

@Liz2681 I'm the same as you, only CD3 so feels like I've got an absolute age to wait before trying again. I'm actually really struggling today, I think baby loss awareness week is really getting to me. I also feel irrationally angry at my husband, he hasn't even done anything wrong, but I think I'm just letting the resentment of "why am I the one who has to go through it all" get to me a bit. I'm off work tomorrow so tempted to have a drink tonight, have a good cry and then reset tomorrow. I rarely drink but today has just been shit and I feel a bit like "fuck it"

@Kewchoc so sorry you've been having a tough day. I know what you mean though -sometimes I'm perfectly ok and other days I struggle to focus and just feel so off. I really recommend just letting your emotions out - I had a moment last week when I completely broke down. I mean I wailed my eyes out like I hadn't before (my poor dog didn't know what was happening!). I felt so so much better for it afterwards though, almost as if a weight had been lifted. I think I was trying to so hard to keep it together that eventually the dam just broke.

So go and get that drink, have a massive cry and know that even if it doesn't feel like it today, you've got this ❤️ x

Agathapoirot · 10/10/2023 21:10

@Kewchoc - I echo what @Liz2681 has said, have a drink, let go for the evening and do what you need to for yourself. Easy to forget about looking after yourself in TTC, it’s not all vitamins and exercise, got to give yourself what you need, and if that’s a night of gin then do it! Tomorrow is a new day ❤️

Amberellalina · 11/10/2023 12:51

Oh my, look at what you miss when you're away for a day! Congratulations @Agathapoirot EVERYTHING crossed this works out this time.

But I actually just dropped in to say that pre-seed is on offer for a tenner on Amazon at the minute, thought some of you might be interested as it's double that at Boots.

Sorry to hear that you're struggling @Kewchoc and I second the cathartic properties of a good cry.

Right, back to regrouping...

Liz2681 · 11/10/2023 13:52

Thanks for this @Amberellalina ! I've been meaning to buy this so will do that now 😊 x

Kewchoc · 11/10/2023 20:25

Thanks for the lovely replies ladies. I do actually feel a little better for it. I think that for the last few weeks Ive been so concerned with putting a happy face on for ds that it's meant I have just been putting my real emotions on the back burner and they needed to come out!

@Agathapoirot How are you feeling? Is it starting to sink in? 😊 you must be over the moon!

Agathapoirot · 12/10/2023 18:33

@Kewchoc - Glad to hear you’re feeling a little better, just take it one day at a time and let yourself feel all the feelings.

I’m testing each morning with easy@home and there’s line progression but I just don’t think I’m going to believe it/trust it/ be joyful until a bit further on! Have chatted with my other half about whether an early scan will make me feel any less anxious in a few weeks if this one sticks around. I think maybe 8 weeks, although I saw a heart beat at 8 weeks and it stopped at 8+3, so not sure if it’ll bring any comfort!!! Feeling very grateful though and all of these emotions are inevitable and expected. Just trying to take it one step at a time as I’m not even late for my period yet 🤣

Agathapoirot · 16/10/2023 05:14

Hey ladies, checking in. How are you? X

Liz2681 · 16/10/2023 07:31

Morning! Good here, currently on CD11 just waiting for a positive OPK. I don't tend to ovulate until CD17-18 so still early though!

How's everyone else doing? @Agathapoirot how are you getting on with your line progression? x

Amberellalina · 16/10/2023 07:44

Morning all! All good here thanks @Agathapoirot, how are you feeling? Hope all progressing well.

I’m feeling a bit more level this month - looking back I was all over the place this time in September. I thought I was alright at the time though, weird how you process things huh?

Fertile window starts in 3 days over here… bring on the bonking 😂

Amberellalina · 16/10/2023 08:36

@Liz2681 I’m a late ovulation person as well and on CD10 so looks like we might be in sync again this month ☺️

Agathapoirot · 16/10/2023 13:12

Glad to hear you’re both doing well! I haven’t heard bonking in a while 🤣 really did make me smile. Pretty much the only bonus to this whole TTC thing!

Glad you’re feeling a bit better this cycle @Amberellalina

Lines are progressing well, zero symptoms and still feel a little numb, I guess? Just taking it day by day and I’m actually off work this week which is a fabulous distraction! Will probably book an early scan for 7 weeks just to make sure it’s off to a good start.

Great that you’ll have each other through the TWW, I’ve got fingers crossed you’ll be providing positive updates in a couple of weeks 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Liz2681 · 16/10/2023 16:10

@Amberellalina are you using OPKs this month? Bring on the bonking indeed 😂 I had a weird cycle last month where usually CB tests give me a reliable few days of flashing smileys before my peak but last time it was literally only a day, so hoping to to have a bit more notice this time!

@Agathapoirot so glad to hear it's going well. Keeping fingers and everything crossed, but all sounds really promising ☺️ x

Amberellalina · 16/10/2023 17:26

Ha! @Agathapoirot, @Kewchoc used the word last month and I’ve been obsessed with it since 🤣

@Liz2681 yep, opk-ing but just easy@home this month. Used ClearBlue as well last month, but it was a bit too much poas to be sensible and I got TEN DAYS of flashing smiley so by the time I got my surge we were knackered already from bonking eod. Plus, I get a quantitative reading AND a graph on premom with easy@home which are both very satisfying😊

Agathapoirot · 16/10/2023 19:26

@Amberellalina - The premom graph is so satisfying 🤣

Liz2681 · 16/10/2023 20:46

@Amberellalina oh wow yeah that's way too many days. I need to remember to use the easy@home tests but because you're suppose to use them in the middle of the day I keep forgetting 🤦🏻‍♀️ I have the app though and agree it is quite satisfying to see the graph, especially when you're tracking BBT as well!

Amberellalina · 17/10/2023 18:52

Hey gang, I need some advice in advance re: exercising during TWW.

Before having DD I was very fit and strong (think: running 5ks, lifting my body weight, doing HIIT regularly) but since she was born I’ve let it slide because I’m always too knackered. A couple of months ago she suddenly started sleeping better, so I’ve had the energy to get back to the gym (hurray!). I’ve been doing body pump every week since then and just mixed in a body combat once a week as well.

Now, this is nowhere near as intense as I used to exercise, but is more than I’ve done in the last two years. So my dilemma is: do I keep going, or rein it in a bit for the TWW?

I haven’t been a total couch potato over the last two years btw, I walk a lot and get my 10,000 steps most days…

Agathapoirot · 17/10/2023 19:25

This is by no means a medical opinion 🤣 but I think if you’re sensible and don’t make yourself feel 100% exerted then you’d be okay. As long as you stay hydrated and don’t overdo it and be honest with yourself about if you need a break!
