Congrats @Rusticanella

i too stopped drinking this month and have noticed much more EWCM this month.

I’m so sorry @worldwidetravel2017 about your chemical, it’s such a roller coaster, and I’m hoping to hear some good news from you soon.

Ladies I’m confused. Last month at 9dpo I have a tiny amount of Brown/pink blood, then cm went back to a clear normal colour. I thought there was a possibility that this could have been implantation. well I wasn’t pregnant.

Now this cycle 9dpo same again, picture included, apologies TMI.
CM back to normal and I am 5 days away from my expected period.

Has anyone had something similar happen to them, do you think the egg is trying to implant?

Looks a bit like some brown i had b4 later red blood but might not be

Hi @40andtrying1
Not sure I have the answer for you, but I've also had similar several times at around 10dpo and no bfp. I suspect it might be hormonal / due to a polyp or something for me but who knows.

Serendipity2023 · 13/09/2023 18:09

Saw my GP this morning, and she's referred me for blood tests.
She also mentioned prescribing me clomid, but didn't explicitly say whether that was dependent on the blood test results or not?!

Going to get blood taken on Friday as I'll be day 13 of my current cycle, and will then see what my doctor says.

It's frustrating as she doesn't seem concerned at all about my age, and I explained how it feels like time is slipping away. She just kept saying how because I did fall pregnant (18m of TTC, and ended in a TFMR in Jan) she's not worried.

I'll be 41 in December and had always hoped I'd have two DC, but even one feels like a distant dream right now 🥺

Ask 4 a thyroid function test

Also 2 safely carry a child you need good vit D
And good feretin

Feretin often isnt included in full blood count

Also request a '21 day progesterone ' test / check
But regardless of 21 day name - go 3 - 4 days after ovulation - to check ya body is behaving re progesterone

40andtrying1 · 13/09/2023 22:27

I think so too 🙁 no other symptoms.

hennie222 · 14/09/2023 16:32

@Serendipity2023 I fell your frustration. As someone else has said, try to get them to give you 2 blood tests - one early in cycle and one on day 21 ish (I think). That seems to be the standard to determine if you are actually ovulating , and hence if you need to be prescribed Clomid. I'm also frustrated with the speed (or lack of) with the NHS although I do try to be grateful they exist at all, just been offered a follow up appointment for November after first seeing the consultant in June and having several tests. Seems to just take forever (I'm 39 so also aware of age as a big factor that's not helping).

Serendipity2023 · 15/09/2023 10:39

Thanks @worldwidetravel2017 & @hennie222 for the advice.

Checked the documents the GP gave me, one is for: full blood count, FSH & LH, Hb A1c, liver function, oestradiol, progesterone, thyroid function, urea & electrolytes. Second doc is for AMH - which I specifically asked for.

@hennie222 - I'm exactly the same that I do feel so grateful for the NHS, but frustrated at the slowness in equal measures (and the lack of empathy/understanding from my GP, which is a whole other issue 😄)

worldwidetravel2017 · 15/09/2023 10:53

Also just incase anyone is unaware
For 40 gbp
Superdrug offer progesterone blood test you can do from home

MK85 · 15/09/2023 14:03

Hi ladies, I hope everyone is doing well.
It's great to see so many BFPS on this thread. It gives me hope that it's not all doom and gloom beyond our mid 30s.

Unfortunately for me, last month ended in a BFN and it marked the end of our TTC naturally journey.
If my bean had stuck, I would have been due last week which has been very hard to deal with.
We got our provisional date for IVF today.
Today is also our 19th anniversary together so I'm hoping to have a nice evening and hopefully take my mind of everything.

niknaks37 · 20/09/2023 11:44

Hey everyone, nice to read some success stories. Gives hope to others struggling.
@MK85 sorry to here about your BFN, I really do wish you the best on your IVF journey and congrats for 19th Anniversary!

My last 2 cycles have not been so great, first lasted 24 days never happened before, except I know this was caused by stress, storm Betty blew down a large tree on my house, all is fine though and damage minimal but the wakeup call at 4.30am wasnt great.
Second cycle ended 26 days, my cycles are usually 27 days in length.
Anyway OH finally went for his analysis Friday past, which took much persuading. Second letter came and I told him if you dont book this we will be taken off the list! Now we await the results.
I have not really tracked last 2 cycles, EWCM was a give away for ovulation so I have realied on it. This cycle I am going back to tracking since my last 2 cycles have been off.

Came on here to give you all an update in case this helps anyone else trying to get NHS funded IVF...

So brief summary for reference, trying for ~4 years from age 35. Took a while to get seen at GP due to factors (me being slow/COVID/GP being slow). Had some preliminary tests in Aug 2022 (aged 37) but then got PG in Sept so all testing/referral put on hold. PG ended in MMC in Dec 2023. Tried again for 6 months with no joy so went back to GP who referred to Gynae. Now had numerous test (more bloods, HSG etc) with no obvious cause identified.

However consultant has said the NHS in this area will not fund IVF unless you have been trying for 2 years post MC. So basically the clock gets reset. I will be 40 at the 2 year point, but apparently because I was referred before I was 39 (which is now the cut off here) then I might be able to get one round on the NHS if needed (apparently I shouldn't have even been referred until the 2 year point, which would have made me automatically too old to be referred!). Consultant advised to go private ASAP if I possibly can.

So anyway, upshot of the story for my fellow oldies.... get referred as soon as you possibly can. I'm now seriously considering trying to find the ££ to go private. On the plus side, some of the tests I've had on the NHS won't be needed again so that will help.

Jak803 · 21/09/2023 09:14

Urgh, BFNs all around here. 11DPO and using internet cheapies. Absolutely nothing to see. It’s so depressing!😪

Rusticanella · 21/09/2023 12:55

Hi all,

Just checking back in. Everyone was so nice to me on this thread when trying to conceive. Now 5+2, and struggling really barley with anxiety an worry. Have booked a private scan for next weekend and had a private blood test last night to check HcG levels. Seems to be triggered by not being able to produce 3+ Clear Blue test and pretty much a loss of symptoms after a week of bloating and cramping.

I have convinced myself I've had a MMC, even though there isn't a lot of evidence to back that up. Just wish it could be easy like how it seems to be for some people. Was stressed over TTC and now it feels so much worse as if I lose the pregnancy have to go back and do TTC stress.

Anyway, sorry for the rant, wishing the rest of you all the best x

Sorry to hear this

Thanks 4 sharing

I shared your post with my parents today

We conceived 2nd month trying but was then an early miscarriage

I have that early miscarriage @ approx 36 years 9 months old.... on my NHS record

I dont really have money 4 private ivf although my parents might help - hoping might get one NHS IVF round if needed

Guna try again asap ..

I know miscarriage is common for first ever pregnancies
And can now ask 4 progesterone fast should i bleed next time

Sending you all the good luck vibes

So much about the system is frustrating & illogical

Hi @Rusticanella It’s so hard not to worry…I had some symptoms early on, but this week I feel pretty normal (apart from insomnia but this could be down to anxiety) and also very energetic which is weird. I’ve also booked a private scan for next week. I just try to distract myself and I didn’t even do any more tests….I think the best we can do right now is to live our lives, and whatever will be, will be…I occupy myself with meeting friends, going to theatre and museums and light workouts. Wishing you all the very best and I hope your scan will be positive news! ❤️

I've had miscarriages and a successful pregnancy and at 5+2 they all felt the same. I don't think you can really analyse this early based on symptoms. Try and distract yourself as much as possible until the scan next week. Fingers crossed it's good news x

Rusticanella · 21/09/2023 15:24

Thanks all. Just as much as I am hoping all is okay, I'm also hoping that once given the okay I can relax and enjoy it. Really affecting me at the moment, work is a battle. I feel like I just want to lay in dark room and cry!

Thank you all for your support. Such a nice group of strangers 😂😂

Jak803 · 21/09/2023 19:53

@Rusticanella keeping all thoughts strong and positive for you! ✨✨✨

I imagine it’s a whole new world of worry and anxiety after the long awaited BFPS. It’s so hard to just wait and see, and I’ve been there with the continued testing post-BFP, analysing the lines etc… your little bean might just be developing at their own sweet pace. Please keep us all updated, we’re rooting for you and your bean!
