Starting this thread after an early loss in May. I’m trying to conceive again asap as I feel ready. Would be lovely to have others join for mutual support x

Hi everyone 👋🏻
Thought I would join this board as it looks like a place of good company on this TTC journey.
I’m 37, 38 next month and TTC #3. Like so many of you here, I’ve had a couple of early losses. I had a chemical at the end of last year and then a mmc in March.
Currently in my 4th cycle after my mc (cycle 3 of TTC)

With all my pregnancies I have followed Smep and fallen pregnant really quickly so it knocked me a bit that I didn’t have the same good luck after my mmc.

Congrats to all those who have had their bfps, i genuinely love seeing your good news and good luck to those in your Tww 💜

LittleMiss2023 · 09/07/2023 03:48

@Blessedmummytobe Yeah normally average about once, maybe twice a week which is enough for us, so having to ramp it up requires a bit of extra umph! 😂 Last month a made a big deal I was ovulating which I think ruined the mood a little, so this time I will try keep to myself and put on some nice lingerie and instigate it subtly. 🙈

@xxcxdonxx Welcome! Hopefully we can both get our BFPs after our early losses. I also had a mmc in May.

xxcxdonxx · 09/07/2023 10:32

Thanks @LittleMiss2023 good luck to you for this cycle and sorry for your previous loss.
@FoodFann I actually thought I’d missed my LH peak this month; I got my highest result on cd 11 and practically nothing after that. I tested yesterday morning and it was pretty invisible but then tested in the afternoon and it was almost positive. I finally got my positive this morning on cd17. It’s so strange how it could change so quickly, unless I had a dud ovulation test.

I also started using the Premom app this month too but I’ve not had much luck with it. It didn’t recognise my peak today so had to manually change it.

hi everyone 👋🏻 would love to join. Feeling very lost atm we’re very much at the start of our TTC journey but I had a chemical last month. AF has just arrived today 😔 and I’ve just found out my SIL is pregnant (very early) I’m delighted for her as she has PCOS but really worried about my MIL and the comments she will send my way. Hoping to properly try using SMEP method this cycle. Lots of love to you all 💕

FoodFann · 09/07/2023 11:59

9DPO… you don’t think, maaaaaybe!!?? Too late, I’ve got my hopes up! Got all the symptoms girls 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Looking good fingers crossed for you! 🍀

FoodFann · 09/07/2023 13:59

Hi @CatLadyH sorry about your chemical 💐

That’s a shame, what do you think your ML will say? Can you keep some distance or is she always there?

Best of luck on your TTC journey, it sounds like it’s still v early days, so just keep trying and staying positive 😊❤️

@xxcxdonxx sorry for your losses.

That’s so interesting - thank you for sharing. Today’s raised LH has got me all excited it could be a BFP in disguise, but just taken a pregnancy test and it’s negative. Maybe it’s just a very very late peak! Better get the lingerie out, again! 🤣 How old are your first DCs?

Blessedmummytobe · 09/07/2023 14:02

Welcome @xxcxdonxx !

Sorry for your loss ❤️ I’m 38, 39 next month. TTC number 1. Smep has worked for me quickly aswell. This is my first cycle after MC in May. I really don’t think age is against us (maybe I’m optimistic!) and sure it will happen soon 🤞🏾

Lol @LittleMiss2023 yea I’ve stopped telling my MR when I’m ovulating. It’s all gobbledigook to him and the pressure gives him a bit of performance anxiety lol.

@CatLadyH welcome. ❤️Sorry for your loss. Don’t be disheartened with your SIL being pregnant just see it as baby fever in your air…your turn is coming. Hopefully your MIL not make any insensitive comments!

@FoodFann 🤞🏾 so does that mean you’ve had a second peak which could indicate pregnancy?

So exciting and draining and emotional all at once!

Thanks @FoodFann and @Blessedmummytobe she’s just a proverbial pain at times, constantly comparing us with SIL and her Husband she was the same when we got married. Im just worried she will make insensitive comments to us. DH and I have decided that next time we hopefully get a BFP we will wait a bit longer to share the news. Sorry I’m just feeling a bit lost and sorry for myself 😞. Think it doesn’t help AF turned up today too. 😩

xxcxdonxx · 09/07/2023 15:19

@FoodFann That’s very exciting and positive news either way, you now have a very clear LH peak or just got a sneaky bfp! Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻
I have a 4 and 2yo, although the age gap with possible #3 would still be pretty small it makes me impatient for it to happen as every month that passes feels like the gap gets bigger.

Hi @CatLadyH , sorry to hear about your loss. I hope all is ok with your MiL. You are on to a new cycle already and sending lots of luck for this new month.

Thank you @Blessedmummytobe my age does play on my mind but I’m remembering that I have a lot of good things going for me and staying positive, as you say it will happen. Any appointment I had when I had my mmc, the midwives and Drs were all very positive and said there was no reason not to try again so I’m keeping that in mind 🥰

FoodFann · 09/07/2023 19:22

@Blessedmummytobe I didn’t really get a first peak. Back to the BDing, I think @xxcxdonxx is right, it’s a strong peak and I’m grateful for me that, even if it is a week late 😱😅 @xxcxdonxx your DC are still tiny, when they’re older it won’t seem like a big gap at all - between all three of them 😊🤞🏻

@CatLadyH Your MIL sounds very insensitive. Maybe stop seeing her so much. Sorry you’re feeling lost, I find the OPK or BBT testing helps me to feel ‘on-track’ whilst TTC. But, I have had to remind myself that life goes on - it’s easy to become bogged down in it all, but remember to enjoy yourself, see the positives in your life and have fun with your loved ones. That said… sending you lots of baby dust! ✨

ChildrenOfTheQuorn · 09/07/2023 20:13

I'm going to try SMEP this month! It'll be month 3 TTC DC#2. So in a nutshell, is it every second day from day 8 (or is it day 10?) until you get a 'high' on the OPK? Then it's 3 days running, rest, then one last time?

LittleMiss2023 · 11/07/2023 11:58

@Blessedmummytobe i literally asked him yesterday, would you prefer me to tell you or not and he said he didn’t mind either way. But as we’ve decided to give SMEP a go, I did let him know that yesterday was CD8 so we have officially started! Now to see if we can keep it up all week!

CinderRosie · 11/07/2023 12:45

Hi all, can I join please?
I'm 37 this month and DH is a few months younger. We are TTC#1 together, I have a teenager from previous relationship.
I'm 11DPO today and getting BFNs, I was so sure we had a good chance as we DTD on O-1, O-2, O-4 and O-5. But maybe as we didn't DTD on O day or at all afterwards we missed our chance. I'm now starting to spot which I always do before AF so she will definitely rear her head Friday/Saturday.

I use Easy@home OPKs and the Clearblue Advanced Digital and take my BBT.

I've just read about SMEP and decided we will try this on next cycle. Just want AF to get here now...

xxcxdonxx · 11/07/2023 15:22

Hi @CinderRosie , welcome!
You never know, you might still be in with a chance. They do say that it’s better to have sperm ‘waiting’ for the egg rather than the other way round.
If not, your next cycle is not far off to try again ☺️

ChildrenOfTheQuorn · 11/07/2023 17:18

I talked through SMEP with DH and after finally understanding the acronyms his response was '... that's a lot of sex'. Interesting to see if he's up for the challenge (literally?)

Blessedmummytobe · 11/07/2023 19:25

Lol @LittleMiss2023 so basically get ready! I guess if he knows the plan and understands it then he can be ready too and also be on count down to those rest days!

We’re very nearly cycle sisters! It’s day 11 for me. So far we did CD 7, then he was away with friends and lastnight which was CD10.

I started OPK testing on the CD 7 (eager beaver!) today I’m almost at peak with 0.71 on my Premom app. I’ll test again late morning and early evening tomorrow. It’s telling me my cycle will be shorter this month at 25 days and I’ll ovulate on Thursday! So i’ll doing all sorts of acrobatics and tricks between now and Saturday to ensure our baby dancing is at least enjoyable for him!

Your hubby is right @ChildrenOfTheQuorn it is ALOT of sex!

@CinderRosie welcome xxx

LittleMiss2023 · 12/07/2023 00:48

@Blessedmummytobe I’m in Aus so it’s the 12th of July here for me and I am CD10. So will be attempting to BD tonight!
I started OPK last night as I use the Clearblue digital and knew it would be a blank. This morning for CD10 was also a blank, but last month it didn’t start flashing until CD11.

FoodFann · 12/07/2023 11:09

@Blessedmummytobe acrobatics and tricks! Hahahaa I actually laughed out loud.

@ChildrenOfTheQuorn up for the challenge 😂😂😂 good luck to you both!

We thought last week was ovulation so were doing a looooot of sex, just to discover that my peak was a week late so had to start all over again. It was difficult, to quote my husband, ‘I’m going to sleep, you can climb aboard if you want’. And who said romance is dead?!

Blessedmummytobe · 12/07/2023 11:31

@LittleMiss2023 Woahh Australia! I don’t know why I always assume everyone is in the UK like me. Is that where you’re from originally or did you relocate?

@FoodFann Well I have finally got my peak today so I’ll be swinging from the chandelier later 😅

@Blessedmummytobe 😂😂😂 amazing! Good luck 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Belle89 · 14/07/2023 11:41

How's everyone getting along. I'm cycle day 9 so will start the opk sticks. All new to me. Just bought the cheap One Step ones from Amazon, any advise or just pee and wait for a super dark line? Used one 2 days ago and had a reasonable line already 🙃

xxcxdonxx · 14/07/2023 21:04

Hey @Belle89 it’s just the ones off Amazon I use too and have always worked well.
My only advice would be when if you think ovulation is due soon then to test twice a day, as I’ve caught my peak or almost peak in the evening test. Other than that, as you said just pee and wait for the line!
Good luck to you this month. I’m currently 4dpo so in the dreaded Tww 💜

I lived in the UK a few years ago but now back in Australia!

How are you going? I’m currently CD13 and waiting for my peak! We’ve managed to BD CD8, CD10 and CD12 so we’ll keep going until we get the peak!
