Starting this thread after an early loss in May. I’m trying to conceive again asap as I feel ready. Would be lovely to have others join for mutual support x

Very impatient over here too. I feel like I'm going to miss ttc-ing this month as my husband has decided to go away on a boys trip this weekend when we are doing smep 🙄 So fingers crossed for July🤞🤰

I am (in a normal cycle) supposed to be on already. However 3 days late. Not panicking/celebrating yet as it could just be delay from my mc.

So I ended up getting a peak lh test yesterday afternoon/evening and this morning as well. My husband returned from his trip last night, so jumped on him... only for him to struggle to ejaculate (tmi sorry)....
He said he was very tired from driving a car load of guys 9hrs straight and hardly sleeping all weekend so yh - perfect timing for a boys trip eh 🙄
However, ended up successfully dtd at like 5am this morning, but tbh I really doubt we managed to catch the egg this month.

Very rubbish attempt at SMEP. But I will say with our first little one (who is 1 next month) we did SMEP to the T and conceived the first month trying so I believe it to work, so I'm hopeful for July 🤞✨️

Hi @Blessedmummytobe ! Pleased to say my SMEP was a success :) I had a BFP on Father’s Day.

it was the first month we use ovulation strips which is what I think helped pinpoint.

Im still waiting for AF since my miscarriage…felt like this for the last week! Just need her to come so I can get back at it. I have tested a few times and haven’t gotten a blazing positive…🤞🏾I get one or the other soon xxxx

This was just now. Appeared fairly quick but not sure if it’s an indent nothing or something. There’s a bit more colour in reality.

@Blessedmummytobe it does look positive to me but I’ve got no experience of the brand. fingers crossed! My first bfp at 9dpo looked like this in a similar style test.

Period came. 10 days late. Glad it’s here and I know where I’m upto. Heavy and clottier as to be expected but not painful. Count down to that first OPK is on!

@Catchafallingstar7 Congratulations! That’s given us some much needed encouragement.

@UmmSA We are also doing SMEP. It is so refreshing to read your honesty about the difficulties in just having regular sex, at the perfect time, where everyone is in the right country, and everyone manages to finish 😆😮‍💨 SMEP isn’t for the faint-hearted! What’s really frustrating: we just had a full week of SMEP, and I haven’t had even the slightest OPK peak. Poor DH will probably have to endure more of me in the next few days if peak decides to randomly show up. Come on little egg!

Average 30 day cycle give or take a couple of days. Currently day 26
Have been taking Calcium and Vitamin D as well as a woman's health multivit.
Anything else I should be doing?

Hi @Belle89 👋 Have you just started trying? How exciting! Other easy things that might help (all from real medical studies):

• no polyester for men’s nethers
• swap to full fat dairy
• coQ10 supplements
• folic acid supps
• Check out vitamins for him too, e.g. vit D deficiency in men is linked to reduced sperm count
• no alcohol in the luteal phase (from ovulation to period)
• research lubes (some of them kill sperm)
• don't use weed killers etc

I’d also track your ovulation because it may well come at a very different time than the average of day 14.

good luck in your ttc journey. As pp mentioned some amazing suggestions but I think some things I felt helped:

limited alcohol & caffeine for both of us

swapped to full fat dairy the month I got bfp

I do have pre-seed lube but didn’t use it!

didn’t let DH use the saunas or hot tub at the gym at all for the months we were ttc (sorry dh)

vitamins for you and your partner

tracked using OPKS from Amazon

Period due any day from this cycle. We're starting properly for July.
Already on the Pregnacare vitamins, didn't realise they done conception one's at the time I bought them.
Shall switch up milk to full fat also. Limiting alcohol and caffeine for now and just trying to eat well and sleep well.
What cycle days are you both?

I’m 4DPO according to the PreMom app, but my OPKs didn’t show any peak this month 🤷🏼‍♀️ We are on cycle 8 TTC, so I might go to the dr soon

Fingers crossed for this month.
My partner is already talking holiday adjustments for March time etc as if it'll just happen first go.
Obviously that would be amazing but trying to also keep expectations realistic.
I'm 33 and he's just turned 47 so a little older.

@Belle89 You never know! Sounds like you’re doing everything right. Plenty of BDing and you could be making use of those holidays in March 😊

you said you hadn’t had a peak…when do you normal test? The SMEP book says afternoon is best as that’s when the surge happens.

So I’m on CD 5. Period is over. I’m gonna start testing and doing the do every other day from Saturday. 🤞🏾

@Blessedmummytobe thank you - I have been testing SMU and late afternoon 🤷🏼‍♀️

Currently CD4 of Cycle number 2 after a mmc in May. We are trying for baby number 1. We fell our first try last time, so hoping it won’t take too long this time!

Thinking of trying to SMEP - any tips on how to still make it romantic and not like a chore? Don’t want to be putting any pressure on DH, but want to give ourselves the beat possible chance!

I guess it’s quite tough especially if you don’t have high sex drives or lots of sex any way. My partner is definately always way more up for it than me lol.

I have just tried to relax and see it as is just doing it rather than trying for a baby. We do have sex a few times a week anyway.

Whenever I get a peak or my CM changes I am miraculously always in little to no clothing when ever we’re together as I WFH. Any nagging it’s banked until the week after ha x
