I think superovulation is off next month. Dh needs surgery and it'll be within the next 2-3 weeks. So depending on when that is, I might do the hyfosy instead.

comingsoon786110 · 05/05/2023 20:37

@VenusStarr oh no, so sorry to hear this. Hope all goes well with his surgery.

Does anyone know how long it takes for aspirin to leave your system and for your blood to go back to its 'normal state'?

star2022 · 06/05/2023 12:30

So sorry to hear that @VenusStarr I can imagine how frustrating these delays can be for you. What does the hyfosy do? If its something you've been thinking of doing then it'll definitely be a good time to do that if next month is off anyway. I felt the same when I needed the polyp removing, just feels annoying having to let another cycle go but hopefully it will be better for you in the long run, having a break and maybe this hyfosy is what's needed while dh recovers too so might be a good situation for you xx

VenusStarr · 06/05/2023 12:51

Thanks @star2022 I feel OK about it I think. I'd rather he's well and healthy.
The hyfosy is to look at my tubes. I had a similar procedure as part of my fertility investigations back in 2019 and we conceived 2 cycles later, so kind of got in my head that maybe I need one again. It hurt like a mother🤬
I had a peak opk last night so I'm going to message crp next week and see if I can book in next cycle. Think you do it once af is done and before ovulation.

How you feeling? Are you doing opks or just going with the supero plan?

@comingsoon786110 thank you. I think aspirin is out of your system pretty quickly. No more than 3 days I wouldn't think.
How you feeling? Are you trying this cycle?

Hope everyone is ok xx

OP posts:
star2022 · 06/05/2023 13:03

@VenusStarr Glad you feel ok about it. And oh yes, is that similar to HSG when they flush your tubes out to see if they're open? If so I had that too as part of my fertility investigations in 2020 and yes its supposed to help clean it all out, i've seen a lot of success stories after that being done so i really hope it helps you!

I'm okay thanks, I'm at peace with my trigger being tomorrow night now as i have been doing OPKs and I still haven't had a peak yet, so it sounds about right. I can feel my ovary though about to burst lol so I do think i'll be naturally ovulating very soon, just hope it doesn't happen today and would ideally want to trigger when they're naturally about to ovulate. Am i right in saying if I trigger tomorrow, I will ovulate on Tuesday? I've been told to start steroids on tuesday but just concerned they might stop/affect my ovulation, was thinking to wait a day before I take them.

VenusStarr · 06/05/2023 18:02

@star2022 yes, I had the hsg before too. I think the hyfosy is with foam but thought maybe a good flush out might help.

I think the theory is you ovulate within 36 hours but last time I did ovulate the day of trigger I think so don't think its exact. Sounds like you're very close if you're feeling a bit uncomfortable. Are you due to have sex tomorrow and the 2 days after? I don't think waiting a day for the steroid would matter, if you wanted to be sure. X

OP posts:
star2022 · 07/05/2023 12:02

@VenusStarr Oh right yes i've heard of that one that's just as good as the HSG. Will you get it done with CRP?

Still haven't had my peak but the lines getting darker this morning so I will probably get it this evening which is perfect as my trigger is at 9pm. In terms of when they've told us to have sex is different to what i was told last time as it was what you've said the three days from trigger for SO1 but this time - I was told to have sex on Thursday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday. Maybe to cover the fact that I may have ovulated naturally yesterday 🤔 Not sure if we should have sex today in that case and do today, monday and tuesday to be on the safe side.

VenusStarr · 07/05/2023 12:25

Oh that's interesting about the sex schedule 🤔 @star2022 you'll definitely be covered I think. We did day of peak, trigger and 2 days after - knackering! I'd maybe sace tonight, unless you're up for it?

I'm going to ask crp to do it, its just under £500.

I'm not sure what to do with neds, am still on hydroxy and aspirin. I'm sure I've ovulated just waiting for temps to rise but had peak on Friday and cramps yesterday. We had sex Friday and today. Unsure whether to take pred? Not doing cyclogest I don't think. What do you think? X

OP posts:
star2022 · 07/05/2023 12:37

@VenusStarr I know right, so tiring! And yes I thought the schedule was unusual too but I guess maybe because my follicles were only 16mm so its difficult to say when I'll be ovulating. I was thinking to leave today too just to regenerate dh sperm but we'll see depending on my OPK.

Is there a reason why they've kept you on both hydroxy and pred? Dr Edge stopped my hydroxy and swapped it for pred, well actually she was saying to just stick to hydroxy but I showed her my results and asked for the pred so she agreed to swap them.

Hmmmm its a tricky one - how many cycles have you tried already with the pred? And do you know if your progesterone is usually ok without supplementing? If you've tried a few cycles already with the pred, i'd be inclined to leave it off this month. Have you also had positives in the past without the pred or has it always been with it? xx

VenusStarr · 07/05/2023 16:28

Thanks @star2022 my original plan was hydroxy (during covid). Dr S put me on pred at my 3 month review as they were reintroducing pred and my activation level is so high so he felt I needed it as well.

So, with pregnancies, my first 3 were no immune meds and just natural. My 4th was with progesterone from 7dpo (and the first where the baby measured exact to dates but no heartbeat, my 2 mmcs were measuring small). I then saw Dr S, so had full immunes but we did ivf as stopped conceiving once i started immune meds. First was a chemical, and second was a mmc again measuring to my dates but heartbeat stopped at 6+2, discovered at 8 week scan.

So I don't know what to do. I'd rather not take meds this cycle if I can help it, felt rough last month and still have moonface 🙄 obviously if I do get pregnant I'd start immediately. Just feel like the chances are tiny for us. I'm still doing my temps so if they're low, I could supplement with cyclogest. Wondering whether to start pred but maybe from a bit later...

OP posts:
star2022 · 07/05/2023 16:36

@VenusStarr Okay yes that makes sense, I think if you feel in your gut you need a break from meds I would lean more towards leaving the pred off this month but supplementing with cyclogest if you feel you need it or even just use one a day which would probably be enough as I know 800mg is high dose anyway.

I've also seen alot of people who are told to start pred at bfp anyway, so as a worst case scenario you can always start it at bfp and it'll still do its job. And if you're taking hydroxy anyway that would still be doing its job. I think if you were doing an actual SO cycle, its different but because you're having a month off technically, you'll probably feel better knowing its more of a 'if it works great if not you didn't really have the expectations anyway' kinda thing and you'll probably feel more relaxed about it.

Obviously thats just my view on it knowing what you've been through but ultimately do what you feel sits right with you ♥️ xx

Privatemedical246 · 07/05/2023 17:38

Hi all hope everyone is okay. Thank you for sharing your journey. I'm new to this thread. Have had one healthy baby 3 years ago and since have had 5 miscarriages. First was MMC and the rest have been very early before 6 weeks. Seems I can't progress further. Have had all normal nhs testing and all normal along with sperm testing. Am thinking of ivf to screen embryos but also have an apppintment with DR S to investigate immune issues first I think. The only other immune thing I can think is I am negative blood and husband is postive. I had the anti d inection but have heard this can cause issues with 2nd pregnancies. Any advice you all have is great. How quickly would you say you get results with DR S. Keen to avpidi missing too many cycles!

VenusStarr · 07/05/2023 18:32

Thank you for talking with me about it @star2022 ❤️ I think that sounds like a good plan. I'll monitor my temps and maybe add cyclogest from next week. I want to be relaxed about it and hopefully get a nice surprise.

How you feeling about trigger tonight? Xx

OP posts:
star2022 · 07/05/2023 19:05

@VenusStarr Its ok ♥️ I totally know how confusing these months can be so glad I can be a bit of help. ALSO I just had a massive realisation and had to get my laptop out asap. Was it you that was asking about a replacement for KY Jelly and we'd mentioned using Preseed? I've just come across an article that stated KY Jelly isn't actually fertility friendly and when i've read up on it, it says it can slow down sperm motility and isn't sperm friendly. Did you manage to get a hold of the Preseed this month?

ps I can't quite remember if it was you, so apologies if its not and i'm totally going bonkers lol but i'm sure it was someone on this thread.

I've just done another OPK and i'm peaking! So we've decided we will definitely have sex tonight, tomorrow and tuesday xx

star2022 · 07/05/2023 19:08

@Privatemedical246 welcome and sorry to find you here! Once you have the initial consultation you will be sent to have the bloods done the same day, and then you get the results back after 2 weeks during your follow up x

VenusStarr · 07/05/2023 19:19

It was me @star2022 ! I got preseed but we've not actually used it this month as was a bit more spontaneous and didn't want to ruin the mood 🙃 I've hidden the ky!

Yay to peaking! I've read that triggering on the same day as peak has better outcomes 🙏 enjoy the next few days! 😅 xx

How are you getting on @HopefulH

Welcome @Privatemedical246 I'm sorry for your losses. I'm rhesus negative too. Only had anti-D once and we've not conceived since. But I do wonder if there is something in the positive and negative blood types. Dr S isn't really keen on testing embryos. He told me not to when we were doing ivf but I have low amh and we don't make many embryos. Plus we'd tested 2 losses and they were healthy. Have you had any losses tested?
Hope your first appointment goes well and you're not waiting too long for your results.

Happy birthday for tomorrow @Danni8 I hope you have a lovely break away 💓 xx

OP posts:
Zest11 · 07/05/2023 20:44

@VenusStarr that's interesting he told you not to test your embryos...why? When we had our follow up appt and he said how he was "shocked" re my AMH, he really hammered in how I didn't have much time and that if I wanted more than one other child, I would need to embryo bank and could do genetic testing. (I hadn't mentioned the number of children I had wanted...im not sure why he thought I wanted 3+!!) But I'm more against the testing as I'm not sure the outcome would be any different...like we decided on one last EC regardless of what happens and wouldn't the protocol used be as if we knew it was genetically normal?

@star2022 yay to triggering soon, it sounds like things are ticking along as they should be! That's helpful he's given you a specific plan/timings as to things! With that level of detail, I'm surprised it's not specific times of the day!!

@Privatemedical246 hi and welcome. Sorry how hard things have been since your 1st, it's so rubbish isn't it. As star says, appt and then 2 weeks or so later. My results were emailed to me a couple of days before the follow up as I requested ours over zoom (Surrey isn't local for us)

VenusStarr · 07/05/2023 22:18

He just said we should save our money @Zest11 and he didn't think our losses were due to chromosomal causes. Plus after our disaster of the last round, we didn't even grt a blastocyst. I'm thinking if we do any more ivf, I might ask for a day 3 transfer.
How you feeling, did you transfer with thus cycle? X

OP posts:
Zest11 · 08/05/2023 07:08

@VenusStarr oh yes, I see how he would think of it as a waste of money in your case. If you have had two losses which were confirmed as healthy, it would be unlikely the losses are to do with genetics.

We did transfer...I feel in my heart like this hasn't worked. I have had no symptoms - no itchy boobs, little bloating even though I take lots of progesterone and I have just this morning had a little bit of blood...not the implantation kind but pink spotting...the same kind I started to get 4 weeks ago today which then turned into my period. On the times it has implanted my boobs were crazy itchy, and the bloat was insane. I'm too scared to test as I'm scared the trigger (11.5 days ago) could still be there so I expect my period will beat me to any testing. Sorry for the rubbish update.

VenusStarr · 08/05/2023 09:41

I'm sorry you're not feeling hopeful @Zest11 I hope the spotting isn't the start of your period. How many days past transfer are you? Don't apologise, we're all here to support each other ❤️
Keeping everything crossed for you.

Hope your trigger was OK last night @star2022 my temp has gone up this morning, so pretty sure I did ovulate over the weekend, probably Saturday.

Love to all xx

Wishing you luck @Zest11 when can you officially test

star2022 · 08/05/2023 10:24

Good luck for test day @Zest11 sorry to hear you're not feeling too optimistic. I have read pred can mask pregnancy symptoms so don't worry too much if you're not experiencing the normal symptoms you've had in the past. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. I know the annoyance about trigger messing you around, do you think you'll do a test today? xx

Thank you @VenusStarr trigger went fine and we managed to dtd last night thankfully. Feeling okay today, i usually feel ovulation pains the 2nd day so i'm expecting to ovulate tonight or early tomorrow. Also I know we have had the same issue with trigger staying in our system for a long time (mine was 14 days!) and I asked ms edge last week what to do if that happens. She said no matter what, stop the meds at 10dpo even if theres a faint line. Test again 2 days later and restart if necessary - it won't do any damage stopping for those two days if you're pregnant. But she said staying on them longer than necessary can damage your cycles.

Glad you've ovulated, which days did you manage to get in? Did you hit the right days? xx

Privatemedical246 · 08/05/2023 11:44

Thanks everyone. We're you able to start on steroids the next cycle if that was confirmed as an issue? Wishing you all luck with these cycles!

Lily1990 · 08/05/2023 14:05

Hi everyone, hope you're all doing well ❤@Privatemedical246 your situation sounds similar to mine (although I haven't had a child) in that I had a MMC at 12 wks (stopped growing at 8.5wks though) and since then 3 losses around 5-6 weeks. I get my results back from Dr Shehata this week, which is 3 weeks after my initial appointment (there may have been earlier appointment available though). I'll definitely let you all know what my results are - been dreaming about them already!
@Zest11 good luck for test day - in my last pregnancy I had no symptoms (whereas I had done everytime previously), so there's definitely hope.
@VenusStarr I think I read a few posts ago that you were wondering about having a HyCosy. We hadn't conceived for 4 cycles (including 3 letrozole cycles) and then had a HyCosy and conceived that cycle. So I would definitely recommend.x

VenusStarr · 08/05/2023 14:28

@star2022 that's interesting about staying on meds too long if not pregnant. Do you test out the trigger? I hope it doesn't linger in your system this time, that messes up your head.
We dtd on Friday, got a positive opk just before bed that day, think ovulation was the next day and dtd on Sunday, so either side of ovulation. Small chance maybe.

@Lily1990 when is your results appointment? Hopefully not too long to wait. That's reassuring with the tube test. I'm going to message crp tomorrow to see what they say.

@Privatemedical246 depending on your results, you could start next cycle. I think its only if you need humira which is for the tnf alpha and you have to have your bloods checked again.
