Her we are ladies!

OP posts:
Heron23 · 21/02/2008 12:01

NatalieJane, i just had a look at koala hammock and it looks great!

i tell you all, online window shopping certainly helps me pass the day and get my broodiness and wanting to ttc NOW under some kind of control

and very happy to be chatting with you all as well!

Heron23 · 21/02/2008 12:03

Also, i have started knitting for my yet unconceived little one! i am nearly finished making this pair of absolutely gorgeous bootes. I am making it a bit bigger this time because for my DS, the bootes i made him was too small and he could not even wear it when he was born! he was a big baby...

NatalieJane · 21/02/2008 12:06

LOL Heron We have all been at the online window shopping, and ordering baby catalouges, and some of us (mentioning no names....!! ) have even ventured into baby shops!!! It certainly does help pass the time, not sure it is good for the wilpowers of most of us, since most have already moved TTC'ing forward!

Heron23 · 21/02/2008 12:13

NatalieJean, to tell you the truth, i am starting to feel that "doing it" is a bit of waste of time, unless it is ttc! of course, i have not said anything like that to DH!!! he would be mortified!

NatalieJane · 21/02/2008 12:17

Oooooo no, I like the practise sesions

My gran knitted DS1 a lovely cardigan, it was the only thing we used for both the boys, still treasure it, got it all wrapped up in tissue paper ready for the next one Awwww a little tiny baby with a sleepsuit and hand knitted cardi, with the new born smell and all wrinkled up....

Playingthewaitinggame · 21/02/2008 12:20

How organised, knitting already! I wouldn't even know where to start, no clue how to knit! And yes some people < looks around suspiciously > have fallen off the band wagon, whilst others are still being good < sits smuggly in corner with halo on > and waiting!

Heron23 · 21/02/2008 12:21

What ages are your 2 boys? My DS is 3 1/2 yrs old and I just love him to bits! he is asking for a brother, i told him that it might be a sister?!?!
Personally i would LOVE a little girl...

Heron23 · 21/02/2008 12:25

Playingthewaitinggame, i hope i am not jinxing things by knitting this early, before i am even pregnant!

NatalieJane · 21/02/2008 12:30

I have a halo as well

My two are 5 years (6 next month) and 14 months. DS1 said he would like another brother, but then in the last few days that has changed to a sister.... he doesn't actually know we are planning another one, he just always comes out with what he'd like next!

I am in two minds, I am very likely to have another boy, and I think I run a huge risk of having another MC if I have a girl, so for that reason I'd like another boy, but if somehow I managed to carry a girl I would be uber pleased Though this will be our last and it if it a boy, I certainly wouldn't be trying again for a girl.

Playingthewaitinggame · 21/02/2008 13:02

Yes I forgot you were still being good Natalie with all your GOFing! . Most people talk about their sex lives when they are trying to conceive not just as general information . The conversations seem to go something like " I have managed to BD twice this month, do you think its enough?". Whereas this is the one thread where most people are waiting and we seem to be at it like rabbits

NatalieJane · 21/02/2008 13:07

I like to keep track, if I put it on here, then I can look back and work things out Besides, when I have spoken about us having a GOF, others have said, "Oooo you make me me want to go home and have sex" so it is obviously a public service announcment

We'd have nothing to talk about some days if sex was a banned topic!

BeMyLilBaby · 21/02/2008 13:08

he he i will be gof alot this week as im off from monday wooooooohooooooo!!

wilol be off to get laptop on tuesday so wont be on till then, after tomo...how will i cope?? ill have to read for ages just to catch up he he!!

Heron you are so organised! have you thought of names yet?? my fave topic

We've decided on finlay for a boy or christopher, and lola or tabitha or maybe hazel for a girl im sad arent i ? lol x

NatalieJane · 21/02/2008 13:13

LOL BB Ooooo new laptop Your DP won't ever see you again, you'll be on here the whole time!

I have a cousin called Hazel, she is lovely

Does anyone else find that they either like or dislike names because of people they know?

kayzisbroody · 21/02/2008 13:15

Hello all. Work has been so boring I really dont want to go back after lunch.

I was explaining to my friend this morning how I know when to have sex to ttc so she told me that come Saturday if I do get pg I'll technically be 2 weeks pg. I'd never thought of that.

Also can 1 or more of you slap me as I got really excited as me pg test got delivered today. I cant test till the 7th March FFS!!!

Hope you are all well!!

NatalieJane · 21/02/2008 13:20

Yep every cycle we are technically pregnant for two weeks. 'Tis strange to think of it like that though!!

LOL you know you will test before the 7th, but just how many times???!! I reckon three times at least

kayzisbroody · 21/02/2008 13:22

I've got the Boots digital ones and I dont think they are early ones so unless I buy one I wont be able to test early.

NatalieJane · 21/02/2008 13:25

I bet you do though we can't help it! It is almost programed in us to test test test. Never known anyone overcome it!

kayzisbroody · 21/02/2008 13:30

I tested 3 times with ds, did 2 normal ones and wasn't quite sure if they were lines so I got a clearblue digital one. Thats why I've gone straight for digitals.
But I do have 2 normal ones as we had a scare a few months ago but I never ended up using them.

NatalieJane · 21/02/2008 13:33

I think I'd better get some lunch done, they both had late brekkies this morning, so have left it as late as I can for lunch.

I actually didn't know boots did digital ones, will have a look next time I'm in there.

kayzisbroody · 21/02/2008 13:36

I'd better get back to work. I really cant be bothered though.

The boots digital ones are £9.99 for 2

Heron23 · 21/02/2008 13:40

I dont have any pregnancy test kits yet, but i have the clearblue fertility monitor. i will get the test sticks 2moro cos my period is due on end of the month.

i have a good idea when i ovulate but want to be sure! will test for 2 cycles and then it is TTC time!!

actually was just speaking to DH about TTC at lunch time - we agree on when to start. i have a sneaking feeling that i am way more excited than he is!

we are not going to do all those things to try influence sex of our baby, will just do it and see what happens!

anyone has any thoughts about ante natal tests? nuchal, cvs? amnio?

Playingthewaitinggame · 21/02/2008 13:54

I was only teasing you Natalie, I do think it is a public service announcement! For the record I think we have been slightly more "active" of late, maybe it is all your ladies giving me idea And, I could never bring myself to call any child of mine a name that a person I hate has, so yes I do know what you mean Natalie!

Have fun at work Kay, you lucky you cant keep popping on like I can, its not doing me any good at all with my workload!!

LOL at the thought of currently being 9/10 days pg!!! I like that idea

I have absolutely no preference over the sex of the baby. Be happy with a bunch or girls/boys/mixed.

Not doing any specific antenatal tests, I'm pretty young, but might do a strep B test.

NatalieJane · 21/02/2008 14:01

£9.99 for 2, that's not bad is it?! Does it say how much HCG they need to detect for a positive result?

I have some of those cheap eBay tests left. Bet they are all gone before we even TTC properly

I think DH is a bit more relaxed about TTC than me, but I think that is always the way with the men, he is as excited about another baby, but it is such a different experience for them isn't it? They don't have to physically go through pregnancy and labour, but all of that does effect them, just in different ways. He is much more excited about no more condoms

Re. AN tests, I think I will be pushing for an early scan this time, just to check the heartbeat is there, I think I will be able to relax a bit after seeing it. With DS1 I did have all the blood work done, but didn't do any of the more intrusive tests, with DS2 just regular blood tests, and I expect the same with DC3.

Playingthewaitinggame · 21/02/2008 15:41

It would be great to have an early scan just for peace of mind. I have heard a rumour (actually several people have told me this but I refuse to believe them) that you dont get a scan till 16 weeks down here

NatalieJane · 21/02/2008 15:55

I think I have said before, with the two boys, as much as I would have liked an earlier scan for peace of mind, I would never have lied to get one (DS1 scan was at 12 weeks, DS2 was at 14 weeks), but this time after the MC, if for whatever reason they won't let me book a 6 week scan, even if I have to lie to get one I will. There is no way I am waiting till 12 weeks. And yes I do know how bad that sounds, but that is how I feel!

I think I have never made much of a drain on the NHS, except the two births, I never even bothered going to the doc's with the MC, so I deserve a little bit for an early scan. Makes me feel better anyway!
