TTC12023 · 09/04/2023 07:20

Hi ladies! I was just wondering anyone wanted to join me in the TWW? According to my apps I was due to O tomorrow (10th, CD23) but have ended up O'ing on Thursday (06th, CD19 Hmm) so currently 3DPO. Thankfully had been BD but it's not going to be enough we don't think as only caught -3, -2, +1. This is our third month trying so not too long but I would love some company to stop me going mad, I only have a 10-12 day LP which is stressing me out as it doesn't feel long enough but apparently it is!! Grin. Baby dust to you all!

I was thinking about you ladies the other day! How are you both 🤗?

I'm all good - 28 weeks yesterday, had a bit of a wobble about movements the other day and popped to the hospital but baby girl is doing fine. Was expecting her to be quiet today as she was active for the previous two so its not been too much of a shock today!

Struggling with names RN! Who knew it would be so hard 😑

BB2818 · 04/01/2024 18:01

Almost 37 weeks now 😬 ready to pop!

@Ttcmumma we had a 4D scan and took DC. It was amazing. Although baby was in an awkward position 🙈. Have you got any name ideas?

@TTC12023 we have had issues with movements although not so much last few week. Baby is quite small and been head down engaged for a while now so they think that along with anterior placenta and high level of fluid is why movements are less obvious sometimes. Luckily there is an explanation 🙂

Do you have a theme with your names or just struggling for ideas? We have a few girls we like but not so much for boys 😬

Ttcmumma · 04/01/2024 22:25

So glad you ladies are doing well!

Oh no that baby was in an awkward position! I've booked it for 27+5 as they said week 27 is usually the best week for it. She's a fidgit so hoping that helps 😅 we get the heartbeat teddy with it too which my son wants to sleep with bless him.

No names yet 🤦🏼‍♀️ we are thinking Roseann as a middle name as we both have grandparents named rose who have passed but I also have a passed down middle name Ann. I don't like Ann but like the sentiment so we are thinking to put those two names together to make Roseann but then depends on what we come up with for the first name! Which we have got nowhere with 😅. Actually my son is insistent that we call her lovely but I'm not so keen 🤣

The movement thing is such a worry isn't it! Luckily I get beat up pretty much daily by this baby girl lol if not food and drink triggers her but I did have a couple of days where I was abit hmm she's quiet... But she always comes back with force 😅

BB2818 · 07/01/2024 14:58

@Ttcmumma I think we had ours around 27-28 weeks. Baby was head down already and pretty much stayed in that position ever since. Baby also had face to my back too. They were really good though. Sent for a walk, gave me sugary drink and offered to rescan 2 weeks later free of charge. But we got some good shots in the end and DC loved the experience too which was the purpose of having it done.

So uncomfortable now. Get this baby out of me 🤣. Midwife can’t understand why I haven’t gone into labour already. Baby is so low 😬

Ttcmumma · 07/01/2024 18:03

@BB2818 oh wow! With my son I was 26-27 weeks and was fine, I think I had to wiggle abit because he kept covering his face but that was it.

Baby is ready but chilling 😅 haha. My son broke my waters at 37+5 and then decided he wasn't ready and it took a 3 day induction to get him out lol so I guess a bit of extra waiting now until baby is fully ready will be better for you in terms of labour! Hope baby comes soon, healthy and quickly for you x

BB2818 · 10/01/2024 07:57

I’m surprised baby hasn’t broke waters yet the amount of shuffling he/she is doing the last few days. I had my DC at 37+6 which is fast approaching was hoping similar for this one 🙏🏻😬

TTC12023 · 12/01/2024 09:22

Gosh I can't believe how close you are @BB2818 ! I have appointments scheduled the week I'm due (which people find hilarious!) and now reading that you ladies went in to labour early with your previous bubs worries me! My gut instinct is this bub will be late and an April babe instead of a March babe; did you ladies have any idea last time?

I have suddenly found my energy in the past 3 or so weeks, MW suggested I tried liquid iron rather than the tablets and everything seems to have picked up! I've even started exercising again.

I am very much head in sand about this labour malarkey but I guess I should probably think about a birth plan!

OP posts:
Ttcmumma · 12/01/2024 09:26

@TTC12023 I had no idea! He was due 15th June and we kind of were just set on that date, he broke waters on the 1st June and was born on the 3rd!

I'm convinced this one will be early because of it but watch her make me wait until 42 weeks instead🤣

I had my bloods this week ready for Mondays 28 week appointment and I'm honestly hoping my iron is low because I need a reason for this tiredness and something that will help 😅

Yeah definitely look into it all more. Ive done alot of child development in school and college so assumed I knew what I was in for with my son... I mean it helped me advocate for myself but it did not prepare me for what labour was really like 🤣. I'm praying for a water birth this time 🤞🏻

TTC12023 · 12/01/2024 09:49

Oh gosh @Ttcmumma maybe I have been hasty and over imaginative with my appointments 😂I currently have one booked on my due date, with a loose arrangement that the therapist won't charge me the cancellation fee if I'm in labour 😆

Same with my nails - I'm booked in to have gel removed 5 days before my due date..... maybe it should be before? I think it's because almost everyone I know had their bub on or after their due date, apart from some prem-twins in the family (which was expected!)

I had my bloods taken for 28 weeks this week as well 🤗although I was 29+1 at the time! My MW recommended Spartone liquid and I honestly think it has helped, I feel so normal in comparison, just the usual bedtime tiredness at bedtime! Something to do with the liquid being more easily absorbed than the tablets 😐Might be worth a go, they're about £15 from H&B but there's a discount if you order via app.

I have only got as far as knowing I want a water birth, and will try to follow hypnobirthing if I can (once I've actually brought the course!) but if I can't go with the flow. I would like to avoid an epidural if possible but having never done this before I am not sure of my pain tolerance!

OP posts:
Ttcmumma · 12/01/2024 13:48

@TTC12023 it's so hard to say as a lot of people do go overdue. I was running around the park (dog walker and was supposed to be my last day of work before he came lol) right before my waters broke so maybe as I'm so active still? Depends on what lifestyle you live I guess. My sister's first born broke her waters 5 days early but she had a long hard labour so he was delivered on his exact due date in the end. You can also get your nails sorted 2 weeks early and the baby come 2 weeks after the due date. Unless it's a planned c section it's so hard to know!

I'm working until I have her, so my clients have 0 warning. I may be rushing their dogs home while contracting 🤣.

Yeah I might need to try that, I have midwife on Monday so I'm going to chat with her about a few things then.

Also plan how you want things to go if a water birth isn't an option. With my son it wasn't as his heart rate was high and I was induced so I had to have monitors on my belly 24/7 (which does not help with contractions pain!) I literally waved goodbye to the birthing centre as I walked to labour and delivery instead 🤣. Because nothing went to plan for me, I kind of felt unprepared and unplanned so I'm going to atleast on my own phone have a plan for my preference, water birth, concentrating on breathing, using that comb squeezing technique and then a if it all goes wrong plan lol. I also hoped to use gas and air, my mum used it for all 3 kids and swears by it but it makes me vomit so that failed too 🤦🏼‍♀️. I have a high pain tolerance but scrolled back to some messages in a family group chat from my son's labour and I replied barely, then only to say 'IM DYING' 🤣 I was indeed not dying, I just thought with a high pain tolerance I'd cope better with it! Being more prepared though I think will help massively, I felt so out of control and in the unknown last time. Definitely should have done my research!

BB2818 · 12/01/2024 19:24

With DC I had a sweep 4 days before birth. Midwife said I was 2cm already, But also walked almost 7 miles day after sweep, ordered a hot curry and bounced a lot for the next 2 days before waters went. I wasn’t contracting so had a drip. Didn’t really have an idea but they weren’t letting me go past due date. The consultant has said the same at this time but community midwife said it’s my choice to get induced and they can’t force it. If I can help it I want to avoid the drip induction. I have nothing to compare to but everyone said it’s more painful. Hoping for a water birth but also know birth plan’s rarely work out so willing to go with the flow as long as baby arrives safely.

I would have officially had DC at this stage in pregnancy so already gone longer. I don’t think I will make due date but think I probably have another week or so 🫣

Ttcmumma · 27/01/2024 16:18

@BB2818 how you getting on? Any sign of baby yet?!

BB2818 · 30/01/2024 00:02

@Ttcmumma

DD was born on her due date. She is just perfect. We are all besotted 🥰. We agreed no more previously but I already want to do it all again. Shhh 🤫🫣🤣

I had started bleeding after my second sweep - which didn’t ease. They kept me in for a few days wanting to induce but all checks were fine and I really wanted to avoid the drip. After negotiating we agreed to them breaking my waters and leaving me 4 hours to labour naturally instead of the standard 2 before putting me on a drip. I was already dilating and monitor picking up braxton hick contractions.

I started contracting regularly around 4am (couple of hours after waters were broken) but they didn’t believe me as hadn’t had any pain relief at this point - until they put me on the monitor (Midwife kept saying you shouldn’t be able to talk through them). Everything seem to go really well. Pain got quite intense a few hours in. I tried the pool but it wasn’t for me asked for the injection in leg pain relief but was already 10cm so couldn’t have it. DD born shortly after. It went really quick. It was a completely different labour to DC1 when I had to have labour induced as waters went but she had pooed. So pleased I avoided the drip this time. People were right when they say the drip is so much more painful.

They couldn’t understand why my waters didn’t go before. Even when I had the sweep midwife checked I was ready to go to hospital incase she broke them as they were bulging during both sweeps and already 2cm+. When they broke them they were so thick that the consultant had to come and do them and commented these were never going by themselves.

How are you and @TTC12023 doing? Not much longer for you both now either 🤞🏼

Ttcmumma · 30/01/2024 07:15

Aww congratulations!! So happy for you 😊.

I'm glad your labour seemed smoother this time. Gives me hope after an awful induction with my son haha. How strange your waters were so strong tho!

I'm good thank you, 30 weeks now so getting everything bought and getting quite big haha. Can't wait to be at the stage you're at!

TTC12023 · 30/01/2024 17:16

@BB2818 awwww congratulations, how lovely you had a little girl. All of us have girls which I think is wonderful, even though this is an anonymous forum!

@Ttcmumma I can't believe we're so close together, I'm 32 weeks tomorrow which blows my mind! Feels like yesterday that the wait between 4 & 8 weeks for our first scan took forever!

I'm very much in prep mode having never done this before, and I am such a planner by nature! DH is being amazing and I can't fault him for anything right now! Starting to feel big but seem to be all bump (everyone thinks I'm having a boy!) - I've put on about 25lbs which is stressful but I know its for a good cause 😍

OP posts:
Ttcmumma · 30/01/2024 17:25

@TTC12023 if this one's 2 weeks early like my son we may be giving birth at the same time haha!

I've done this before but still lived with my mum so it feels abit first time again, as it's the first time it's just me and my partner, not my parents as adults in the house too lol. Trying to spread all the expensive costs out a bit too but almost done now. Baby shower in march so hopefully get some little bits then too.

Yeah don't worry about the weight! It's a good sign. With my son I went from scraping 7 stone to 10 stone at full term. Lost a stone by giving birth lol and lost the other 2 stone a month later!

My body is currently super confused by the weight, I'm naturally 7ish stone, but after my mmc last year my body shot up to just over 9 stone. I'm guessing a hormonal thing, I'm now 11 stone. I can feel how confused my body is haha but I just remind myself it means baby girl is growing and I'm providing enough for the both of us 😊.

TTC12023 · 30/01/2024 17:40

@Ttcmumma Sounds similar to me! I'm not 'naturally' 8st 10lb but that's where I can maintain my weight and have done for years, I'm now 10st 8lb(ish), don't like it though! 😆I'm more interested in my bump being the 'right' size - so weird what you focus on! I have a wedding to go to 6 weeks after birth (assuming I'm on time) so fingers cross i loose the stone after birth and the 2 after like you've described!!

We've pretty much got everything now, all on marketplace as I wasn't spending out all that cash on new items! Such a cheapskate 😝

BB2818 · 21/02/2024 03:29

Thank you ladies. Sorry I haven’t replied. I don’t think we have had a week where we haven’t ended up back at the hospital 🙈. Fingers crossed we are done now, seen enough of that place!

@TTC12023 it seems to be a year for girls.

@Ttcmumma DC1 was born at 37+6. DC2 40 exactly. I thought DC2 would come well before due date but obviously not the case. Although there is nearly a 8 year gap, my body probably forgot I had done it all before.

Are you both ready? Can’t be long now until your little ladies are here too 💕

BB2818 · 05/03/2024 20:28

Just checking in. Hope you are both well? Anymore baby girls to add to the gang yet? So excited for you both 😃🥰

Ttcmumma · 05/03/2024 22:18

@BB2818 good thank you! Just so ready to not be pregnant 🤣 I'm 35+1 so could have a little while yet. Praying she comes around 38 weeks like her brother did. My pelvic and back hurts and she seems so low lol. My appetite is gone and I cannot stand meat 🤢.

Planning to have everything prepped, set up washed etc at 37 weeks and then doing everything I can safely do to naturally induce labour 🤣. Watch her make me wait till 41 weeks or something tho!

BB2818 · 06/03/2024 04:25

@Ttcmumma she needs at least another 2 weeks to cook. Make sure you get some rest before baby’s arrival. By the time we got home with little lady I was almost 4 days with very little sleep 😴

I don’t think anything worked this time. With older DC I had a sweep 3 days before. Bounced a lot. 2 nights before had a hot curry. Day before waters went I went on an 8 mile walk. Also craved pineapple through out could eat 2-3 pineapples a day 🫣🤣. Could have been all, one or non of the above 🤷🏼‍♀️

TTC12023 · 06/03/2024 08:59

@BB2818 @Ttcmumma all good over here! 37 weeks today and finishing up work on Friday. I am NOWHERE near ready, I haven't packed a bag, got any clothes/nappies - nada! I really need to sort that out next week!

Thankfully I still feel good, she's part engaged but not fully - they don't seem worried. She's definitely still high and bump hasn't dropped yet, I do not believe one iota that she'll be 'on time'!

OP posts:
BB2818 · 06/03/2024 09:07

@TTC12023 a weekend of shopping for you 🙈. Then feet up and relax until bubba arrives 🥰

TTC12023 · 06/03/2024 10:12

@BB2818 hubby away all weekend as well which isn't ideal! I have a number of people with him who have promised to have their phones on loud 😂

OP posts:
Ttcmumma · 06/03/2024 10:18

@BB2818 yep! They're doing a growth scan on Monday at 36 weeks to see how she's doing. My son was 7lb at 38 weeks on the dot so I'm hoping she doesn't take too long as so far she seems to be developing much the same as him. She was estimated 4.3lbs at 32 weeks.

@TTC12023 oh you're so close! I wish I was finishing work 🤣. My belly has actually already begun to drop and my pelvis is very sore now but no one's checked if she's engaged just yet. Good luck without hubby this weekend! But definitely get those bags packed just in case. I have a baby shower on Sunday so im then going to grab all last minute bits next week at 36 weeks and wash all her bits. Packing bag and setting up her cot and putting her car seat in the car etc at 37 weeks. I won't be able to rest if I know I'm not ready to go at 37 weeks. Purely as my son broke my waters at 37+5 and I feel like my body is giving up quicker this time, it may evict her the second she hits full term 😅 or it will just have me struggling for weeks on end!
