Does implantation feel like this?

Hi everyone. So, here I am again in the dreaded 2WW. This is mine and hubby’s 10th month of trying for our second child. This month I ovulated on cycle day 13. 7dpo I was busy working and suddenly felt a very strange feeling to the right of my belly button like my muscles were being stroked on the inside! Really strange and not painful at all but very noticeable. I pulled my waistband away from my tummy and it was still happening for about a minute or so. 8dpo I was sat watching tv and I got 2 very sharp twinges about half a minute apart that lasted for just a few seconds each. Both times I gasped out loud as it was that strong! Like being prodded with a knitting needle I would guess. It was slightly to the left side low down and after the second time I didn’t feel anything else. Could this be implantation? I never felt anything like it’s my daughter that I know of but it was 10 years ago now. I have tested twice this month; yesterday and today and both bfn. If it was implantation on Tuesday evening then it’s only 36 hours ago so I guess I’m too early. If anyone has had this happen to them were you pregnant? This is a new one for me as each month I tend to just get the dreams, moodiness, cramps and sore boobs etc. I do hope this is it! Good luck to all of you who are ttc. I hope this is your month ☺️

@LittleWings22 so after my line earlier that I wasn’t convinced by due to it being after the time frame, hubby came back without first response tests as all of our pharmacies had sold out of them 😫 I then tested again with my last clearblue test . . a blue line appeared instantly and stayed BUT it was the wrong way 😫😭🤯 I am assuming that both tests are faulty as from the same pack. Such a stressful day. Hubby managed to get me some boots early detection tests so I am going to do one of those in the morning (tomorrow is 12dpo for me so I’m assuming it’s my last chance this month). I have had the ringing in my ears since I woke this morning (not had this for 20 years) and very bad nausea this afternoon. I will post an update tomorrow. This TWW business is rubbish! X

Sorry that one that came up after 10 mins is very common on the clear blue tests. You almost always get one (or I always did with negative results). For it to be positive it has to come up within the 3 minutes. The other one isn't a test line so sadly negative.

If you're only 11dpo it's still super early though so still a chance!

My implantation pain felt more like ovulation pain and occurred at 7/8DPO

BabyJays · 18/03/2023 07:39

@Emilia35 yes as I suspected. I took a Superdrug early detection test this morning and after 1-2 minutes a faint vertical line appeared but when I checked it again at 5 minutes there was a bright horizontal line! I literally have no idea what to think right now. It seems that none of these tests, even the expensive clearblue ones are reliable. I’m not flooding the tests or doing anything other than what is detailed on the instructions so why am I getting such weird results? 😫🤯 I have no idea what to do now . . Waiting until tomorrow morning seems such a longggggggg time! (Photos attached) x

I can see the vertical line which could definitely be a positive 😁😁😁

No idea what happened afterwards - that's so weird! But the instructions say not to read after 10 minutes so I would ignore that and try again this afternoon (since for some people HCG is stronger is the afternoon/evening) or wait till tomorrow if you can. Good luck!!

@Emilia35 thank you. I will update the post once I’ve tested again x

Good luck op

fingers crossed for you !!

LittleWings22 · 18/03/2023 12:13

That is really strange!!!! However since its been a few now id be likely to think it could be a pos but you will need to do more until you get a definite pos or neg or get a clear-blue digital altho i know they are best after the missed period!!

Ecdysiast · 18/03/2023 13:06

Those lines look really promising. I've had negatives before and no line ever appeared even after 10 minutes. Fingers crossed for you. Keep us updated!

anon1411 · 18/03/2023 18:37

I keep getting verrrrry faint lines on cheap tests lioe stupidly faint you have to be in a vertain light to see them but I'm like 5 days late now and surely I should be getting dark lines by now.

So my cycles are usually 26 days long. February's cycle was like 36 days (just the one off) and when I did get my period it lasted about 36 hours. Do you think my cycles are changing to 36 instead of 26? 🤷‍♀️ I don't know what to think...

BabyJays · 18/03/2023 20:16

@Quitelikeit thank you x

@LittleWings22 I just daren’t get my hopes up yet. I am testing again with a first response (I managed to get off some today) in the morning so will keep you all posted. I wish I’d never tested early now as this is so confusing x

@Ecdysiast I haven’t ever had lines like this with negative tests either. This is our 10th month of trying for our second child so I have used a lot of tests too. Bizarre for me to have 2 different types of tests both have a dark horizontal line x

Fingers crossed for you! I've heard false positives are quite rare!

BabyJays · 18/03/2023 20:41

@Ecdysiast 🙏 x

I'd stop buying all those plastic ones and get some easy at home instead x

BabyJays · 19/03/2023 08:47

So it looks like I’m not pregnant ladies as I tested with a first response this morning and I can’t see a line on it. So annoyed by all of the ‘defective’ tests. I usually use the cheap test strips but because I had the ringing in the ears and the metallic taste in my mouth I was sure I was pregnant and decided to buy some ‘decent’ tests this time. Very annoying. Today would have been a lovely day to get my bfp but hey ho. I am blessed to have my beautiful daughter. I’m due af either tomorrow or Tuesday and I won’t be testing again unless I don’t come on. I will update the post it by some miracle I get a bfp this month as I know how annoying it is when you read a post and never find out what happened. Good luck to all of you who are ttc. I hope this is your month and thanks for the support 😘💐

Sorry to hear that BabyJays. Hope you have a lovely day with your daughter and can forget all about TTC for a little while today. Sending hugs xx

Like being prodded with a knitting needle

This is exactly how I felt the month I conceived. If you've already been taking your basel body temperature I'd recommend continuing to do so. My temps spiked up and up. I tested two days before period sue date and got a positive.

Good luck!

LittleWings22 · 19/03/2023 21:10

@BabyJays aww im sorry, but your not completely out yet - AF still has to show.

The cheapy test are honestly just as good as the branded and you can get a good amount for the price of a branded on amazon

BabyJays · 19/03/2023 21:24

@LittleWings22 aww yes I still have a glimmer of hope 🙏 You’re right, after this month I won’t be buying the branded tests. I will go back to using the one step ones and only buy a digital to confirm with if I’m lucky enough to get a bfp on a cheapie x

BabyJays · 19/03/2023 21:25

@roses2 thats reassuring thank you. I definitely had the prodding out of nowhere too! I feel pregnant and I’ve had the symptoms but I need the bfp 😭 x

BabyJays · 19/03/2023 21:28

@Loveyoutomatoes yes this is my first month of spending a lot on tests in a while as I have been using the one step cheapies. I’m not sure what happened this month . . I think I was so convinced that I felt it was time to bring out the big guns 🤪😅 x
