Out... AF Arrived today. Looking for next cycle buddy

Hi all, AF graced me with her presence this morning... after what I thought were some promising cramps/light bleeding over the weekend. (It was just my mind playing tricks on me but so glad I waited it out, I think a negative test might have upset me a little) Made a note of all my symptoms, so I know what to expect next month, in case it's a no again.

We will be going again for cycle 2 in around 2 weeks time if anyone is in the same boat and is looking for support?

We haven't told many people we've started trying for our 1st baby, so I'm desperate to chat with someone else going through it.

I got a bfn this morn at 9dpo :( dunno why I did a test just got tempted! Going to wait until Monday or Tues to try again. Hope everyone having a good weekend xx

How are the rest of you doing? I went to a baby shower this weekend for one of my best friends... was such a lovely day! But need some advice... she told me some name ideas for their baby and one of them is the (and only) name on our list 🥲 I know it sounds silly... but would you guys tell your friend (even though she is due soon and I don't even know if I'm pregnant yet this cycle) I don't want to be difficult at all...but it broke my heart a bit! X

@flowerlover1990 hmm that is a tricky one, as we too have some names we love and would be so sad if someone else used them first. How many names were on her list and did it seem like your name was a favourite?

I am feeling okay just bored of the TWW, just feel like it's not my month but probs testing on Tuesday at 12dpo xx

I wouldn’t tell her. It would put her in an awkward position. I know it’s difficult for you, but she’s happy and let her stay in the moment. I always ask myself what would I do if I was in the other person’s position? If she asked you not to name your child a name because she wanted it for her unborn child, would you concede? And I know she’s given a few names, but that’s what I did when people asked me and pretended I didn’t know which I preferred as didn’t want to be swayed - but I only had one in mind!! Also, it sounds quite a popular name if it can be used for girls and boys, so probably wouldn’t matter if it was the same.

Thanks @Kranke this is great advice and I'm definitely swaying towards not saying anything, I'm not the kind of person to confront stuff like that really. There were a few names in the mix and also agree there's possibly more that she didn't let on to... praying that's the case anyway. Thank you again x

I know how difficult it is, I’ve had 4 miscarriages, an ectopic, but thankfully 1 healthy baby (so far, only 18m!!). My 4 miscarriages were before the child, and had so many friends who got pregnant, had their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd whilst I was still trying. It’s so tough. If your name is your birth year you have loads of time!! And also, in the grand scheme of things, the name is irrelevant. They’ll be your child and whatever name you decide will be perfect, even if it wasn’t the one you wanted. They’ll probably get a crap nickname at school and will be know by this forever (half of my friends have had this - including me!!).

Also; the name I had in mind all throughout the pregnancy, even right up to the minute before they came out - we called them a different name! We took a few days after the birth to decide, but the minute that came out screaming, I just thought they didn’t suit it!! Can’t imagine them being called the name I originally had planned now!!

Sorry, just one final point - just think to yourself, what do care more for, a baby or the name? It really doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things.

@flowerlover1990 I’m 9dpo today and got a BFN this month. I think I may have messed up OPKS this month or didn’t ovulate as I had two surges it seemed like and neither got over 1.

So with the name, I handled this with my friends by saying oh I love that name too! We actually are planning on using it if we have a boy/girl. Would be cute if we had two kids with the same name! I think that’s as much as you can say about a name. I’d be very annoyed if a friend tried to guide me not to use a name, as my child is the name I have to use and hear everyday. That also means if someone else uses my dream baby name I will still use it. Realistically how often will those babies be together that saying ‘Tommy last name A ’ or ‘Tommy last name D’ is an issue and people will know who you’re talking about if it’s your own child. I will add that people have used names I previously loved and it’s put me off them, but I’ve then found other names I love just as much! Out of interest what is the name? I love the name Isla and have since I was a teen but it has suddenly exploded the last 2 years!

AF due today / tomorrow and BFN this morning so just waiting for her stupid arrival now 🤣 I think I'm taking it a bit calmer this month because I'm a bit worn out of constantly thinking about baby. My husband has always wanted to adopt and I've always been afraid of people thinking we weren't good enough (it's a very long process). I think we may start looking into it properly next month.

Having trouble getting a decent picture BUT I think I have a vvvfl this morning. Will test again Friday for progression.

It's a faint line, can't get a good picture. But it has colour and came up within the 5 minutes. My husband says he can see it. I'll test again in a few days for progression. Going to hold off calling the GP until next week.

I didn't actually track ovulation this month. Decided to take a break. But I would estimate I'm about 12dpo. AF should have arrived Tues or Wednesday. My last pregnancy when I tested positive the line was darker but I was 4w+4d, I'm bang on 4w now so I think it's OK it's a bit lighter. It's definitely alot clearer in real life.

Are you testing this weekend?

I have my own news to share today... I tested for the first time this afternoon (AF due date) on 13DPO and.... 🥰🥰🥰 It came up within seconds. In complete shock!

Oh that's fantastic. Very strong line.

My line is still faint but still there. Going to get a different brand of tests today though because I only had cheap strips that I don't particularly trust.

Congrats @flowerlover1990 and @BudgetBuster . After a couple of days of very faint lines I got this today at 12 dpo 😍. Tried two different brands to be sure, top is cheap early detection that detects at 10mIU, second was a boots one that detects at 25mIU.
