Yeah I would definitely DTD for the next few days @TheBirdintheCave to try to cover the whole window 😊

It's funny isn't it, who would've thought we'd all be so in the loop with a bunch of strangers' sex lives 😂

LuckyMoonstone · 19/02/2023 11:08

@TheBirdintheCave yeah definitely try again later, if you can hold on for a few hours each time and not overdrink then you could do one this afternoon and one late evening, you may find you peak in the evening

bunnykins123 · 19/02/2023 13:42

@TheBirdintheCave that looks like a peak to me. I would get cracking today and tomorrow - good luck!

MrsJGrealish · 19/02/2023 13:52

@TheBirdintheCave the app is an odd thing. There was one month I got a high reading on a strip of 0.59 but only because previous readings were like 0.1 ish. And it'll never show a peak until you test with a low reading after an obvious high. I've been using it for about a year and once I did get a peak on CD10. That was the month I miscarried at 6 weeks though, I seem to peak later now between CD15 and 17. But like yourself ovulation is fairly obvious for me a lot of EWCM and spiky cramps x

curliegirlie · 19/02/2023 15:11

@TheBirdintheCave I'd treat that as positive (I.e. ovulation probably tomorrow) if I were you. This time round I've found that my LH levels climb and drop really quickly, and anything above 0.2 (!!) is probably gearing up towards a peak, even if I miss the peak itself. Back last April (second post MC cycle) my cycle was only 24 days, which for ages I'd assumed had been anovulatory, but then looking back over PreMom, I'd have OPKs between 0.3-0.4 on Day 12. It was only when it happened again in June that I twigged that was probably what had happened previously. I was a bit annoyed in a way, as we'd DTD so much over the Easter holidays it was quite deflating to learn it hadn't happened despite probable ovulation....

ScrantonDunderMifflin · 19/02/2023 15:58

@TheBirdintheCave I don't trust any apps at all. Would treat it as a positive and I have a feeling the next one will be significantly darker.

TheBirdintheCave · 19/02/2023 16:42

Back now (with a sleeping toddler on me 😂). I'll hold my pee for another hour and see what it's like then.

Thanks for all the tips guys! I'll be a bit surprised if it happens tomorrow as I'm only CD10 today so it would be the shortest cycle of my entire life. I'd better get a move on in regard to booking my IVF scans and bloods though if it looks like AF will be here earlier this time.

Irritatingly I didn't get to take my temperature this morning as I had a fever from last night's illness 🤦🏻‍♀️

TheBirdintheCave · 19/02/2023 17:54

Hmm... down to Low 0.42. I guess I either missed it or it wasn't a true surge. I suppose tomorrow's temperature will tell me more.

bringmearainbow · 19/02/2023 18:09

@TheBirdintheCave could have been gearing up for it and like you say wasn't a true surge esp as this is fairly early for you normally 🤔 I would keep an eye on temp and keep doing the opks they might have another go in a few days

Peppa pig word was really good ds is shattered I've put him in pjs for the drive home in the hopes it can be a smooth transfer from car to bed 🤞🏼

TheBirdintheCave · 19/02/2023 18:13

@bringmearainbow You are very brave to go there! Glad the wee one had a good time though :D I hope bedtime transition is smooth :)

bringmearainbow · 19/02/2023 18:20

@TheBirdintheCave haha tbf I was expecting it to be super busy but it was so quiet 💪🏼 I think the longest we waited for a ride was 15 minutes and he loved all the rides! I'm so tired now though I could easily sleep too 😂

TheBirdintheCave · 19/02/2023 18:34

@bringmearainbow Is dtd on the cards tonight? 😂 I'm shattered too. We went to RHS Wisley Gardens and did soooooo much walking in the sunshine.

bringmearainbow · 19/02/2023 18:42

@TheBirdintheCave no we managed last night and then I'll catch him tomorrow weds and Friday and maybe Thursday if he is organised for his trip....doubtful though he is a man 😂

TheBirdintheCave · 19/02/2023 18:49

@bringmearainbow Sounds like a good plan! I really hope I arrives at a suitable time for you 🙏🏻

TheBirdintheCave · 19/02/2023 19:37

In an interesting turn of events I just looked at the latest OPK after putting my son to bed and it's dried control dark too. App now puts it at 0.70. Am I mean to be taking photos of them dry or wet? 🤷🏻‍♀️

bringmearainbow · 19/02/2023 19:58

@TheBirdintheCave I always take wet ones at the 5 min mark

MrsJGrealish · 19/02/2023 20:27

@TheBirdintheCave I took the pic after 7 mins (I don't remember why😂) still wet and always in the same place

LuckyMoonstone · 19/02/2023 20:32

@TheBirdintheCave I find opks take a while to fully develop so I always wait until they are fully dry to get a true reading

FfoxRedN · 19/02/2023 20:32

I do find they dry darker after 5 mins. It's like there's a totally different protocol to a PT!
I do sometimes have a rise, then a dip before my peak so when you get close test 2 times a day...(or 4 🫣). Ive attached a couple of examples below 🥰 xxx

TheBirdintheCave · 19/02/2023 21:03

Hmm alright, so somewhere between 5-10 mins should be ok. I think I took this evening's one after about two to three minutes.

@FfoxRedN Thanks for posting that. Very interesting to see the two peaks. I'm glad I temp too or I'd have no idea when O would be based on OPKs alone.

FfoxRedN · 19/02/2023 21:13

@TheBirdintheCave sorry thats two different cycles 😂 I've made it more confusing. The little raise though and then it goes to almost nothing the day before I get my peak or high. Once you've done a cycle you get a feel for it 🥰. Though hopefully you won't need more! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 xx

pangolin84 · 19/02/2023 21:13

If it helps I’ve also had some cycles where it looked like there was a little rise that didn’t quite get going and then the proper surge happened a few days later. Sometimes it feels like you need a PhD to decipher all the signals and work out what’s going on!

TheBirdintheCave · 19/02/2023 22:07

@FfoxRedN 😂 Oh I see! I will report back on what happens tomorrow morning. We dtd after we put the boy to bed so we're covered either way anyway :)

@pangolin84 How are you doing? :D

pangolin84 · 20/02/2023 07:32

@TheBirdintheCave Thanks for asking 🙂 I have days where I feel fine and others when I feel terrible. I guess it’s reassuring. I should be 7 weeks tomorrow and I’ve booked an early scan for next Friday. Trying not to think about it too much - it’s terrifying.

bunnykins123 · 20/02/2023 08:19

@TheBirdintheCave that's good! How's the test looking today? Try and get an attempt in today if you have the energy as you most likely will be covered then!

@pangolin84 ah that's so exciting! How are you feeling? Those scan nerves are horrible. Got everything crossed for you for Friday! 🤞
