I had my first flashing smile yesterday but didn’t dtd. I’m not feeling well as I have an awful cold…but really need to find the energy tonight!

My period will be due around 11th Jan. could be before or after as my cycle lengths vary by a few days.

Let’s keep each other company!

Just catching up on this thread tonight. It sounds like we are all going to be testing around the same time! AF due for me on 11th Jan and not feeling anything so far. My friend from work got a positive recently 2 days after AF was due and blank negatives on the days prior so I’m sceptical about early testing, but it’s SO tempting! Baby dust to us all xx

Endogal · 02/01/2023 11:40

@Apat10 ahh I'm so sorry it didn't work you, hopefully the fact it eventually happened without help is a good sign that the right help won't struggle to get things going in the right direction more regularly!! Fingers crossed for the sperm analysis too!

CAA121 · 02/01/2023 14:48

Just catching up on this thread too after New Year :) hope you all had a lovely time seeing in the New Year. Anyone have any nice plans?

It does sound like we’re all due AF very similar, fingers crossed this is a lucky group! I’m due AF 10th / 11th Jan.

@WilllowStar
Good to hear that sometimes don’t get BFP until a couple days after AF due, may give us some hope when getting BFN’s when testing early.

@Endogal
Sorry to hear about your journey so far. How long have you been trying for? My fingers are crossed for you! How long did it take for you to get an appointment with fertility clinic? NHS?

@SillyOldBear3
Ooo I may be stealing your hot water bottle trick! Besides I’m constantly cold at the moment so would be added bonus hehe

Endogal · 02/01/2023 15:33

@CAA121 we've been trying for 2 years now! However I've only been ovulating since last April and had about 6 ovulations (stopped metformin after my chemical for a while then while I was on strong pain meds and I absolutely can't ovulate without it!). GP prescribed the metformin on advice of gynae consultant who did a hysteroscopy for me as a final check to see why i wasn't ovulating/ having periods. When he reviewed my notes he sported signs of pcos that had been missed! Was referred to fertility clinic last Feb and finally got my appointment through last week, it'll be at the beginning of February so better late than never 🤣

Endogal · 02/01/2023 15:35

@CAA121 and thank you, keeping everything crossed for everyone this cycle!! How long have you been trying?

ExcitedandNervousC1 · 02/01/2023 16:11

Hi Ladies, got my static smiley today so DTD this morning as well as 2 days ago and will aim to do it once more tomorrow and the day after so hoping that will be good!

lemonyfox · 02/01/2023 16:14

Me! Well, right at the end as I'm due to ovulate today. This is our first cycle of trying for our second baby, we have a 2yr old already.

I have a short luteal phase of 8-9 days which is annoying but I suppose it means I have less time to wait before testing 🙃

I've had an ectopic before too so a bit nervous about TTC as I'll need early scans to make sure it's not another ectopic 🤞🏻

lemonyfox · 02/01/2023 16:15

Who's testing on/around 11th? 😊

CAA121 · 02/01/2023 16:19

Wow, you’ve been on a journey, you really deserve your BFP! I’ve been trying for 8/9 months now which is so short by comparison. Glad to hear you have your fertility appointment soon(ish), that’s a heck of a wait. Hopefully will give you some more answers and even better, solutions. Sending you all the luck and baby dust.

I’ve been with my gyny for 2 years (the non fertility side) due to symptoms of endometriosis but they didn’t want to do a laparoscopy until I had been TTC for over 6 months so on the waiting list for that now but hoping we strike lucky before that.

@Endogal this message is for you. Sorry I have no idea how to delete or edit a post in here 😅

SillyOldBear3 · 02/01/2023 16:48

Welcome! @lemonyfox lots of us are testing on the 10th/11th, how exciting!

Sorry to hear about your ectopic ☹️ I've had a chemical earlier this month so also a little nervous. I also have quite a short luteal phase, mine is 10 days, but this cycle I'm trying vitamin B6 in the hope it can boost my progesterone a bit.

SillyOldBear3 · 02/01/2023 16:52

Glad you've caught your peak! 🙂 @ExcitedandNervousC1

I'm now 2DPO, my ovulation pains were horrible this month. I also noticed ECM the night after I ovulated 🤔 anyone had this before? I know I 100% ovulated the day before!

Aww it's okay thanks though, sorry about your chemical 😩

I tried all sorts of supplements when I conceived my first because of my short luteal phase and it didn't make a tiny bit of difference apart from giving me tablet fear because I was taking so many 😂

Do you think you'll test early or try and hold out? I'm really going to try and wait until my period is due tbh but I know I won't lol.

I get awful ovulation cramps now I'm more aware of my body and my cycles. Never noticed before though so I'm sure it's all mental 😂

SillyOldBear3 · 02/01/2023 17:08

@lemonyfox Haha I feel like I will be the same, I'm already worried about whether I should stop the B6 if I get another positive!

My ovulation pains are normally fairly mild but noticeable, but this month I could barely walk without stabbing pains. I had to sit in a certain position all evening to try an ease the cramps! They passed after around 4 hrs, so strange!

I'm going to test on the 10th I think, which will be 10dpo and my period would be due the next day. Though my line at 10dpo last time was quite obvious so I could potentially test earlier! What about you?

WilllowStar · 02/01/2023 17:31

@lemonyfox and @SillyOldBear3 I will probably test on the 10th Jan too! Not too long to wait now eek. Not sure if I feel positive about this cycle or not, thisnis cycle 3 for TTC number 2 so need to be patient but it’s so hard! Xx

Very strange, I wonder what was different this month to make the pains stronger! Have you noticed the supplements having much of an effect at all yet?

@WilllowStar how exciting! How old is your little one? (Sorry if I've missed that earlier on in the thread!)

lemonyfox · 02/01/2023 17:39

@SillyOldBear3 sorry I missed your question off. I'll try and aim for 10dpo testing, but sometimes my lp can be 8 days so I'll probably test them if no period by then... With my son I actually only tested after my period was due because I was convinced I was getting period cramps so was expecting it to show up! I think it was 11 or 12dpo I finally tested, I was in denial lol

WilllowStar · 02/01/2023 17:55

@lemonyfox he is almost 2! His pregnancy was a complete lock down surprise. Is this number 2 for you too? Xx

Yes same, we had a lockdown baby too! He's just turned 2. It'll be interesting experiencing pregnancy and maternity when the world is hopefully a bit more normal 🤞🏻 Saying that, I didn't mind nothing being open for the first couple of months when he was born, I liked the little bubble we were in.

Apat10 · 02/01/2023 18:44

Sorry to hear about those of you who have not had straight forward TTC journeys! Really hope this is a lucky month for us all!

@Endogal wow that's a long referral wait, glad it's finally come through for you! I must just be super lucky where I live - the fertility clinic phoned me up for my first telephone appointment 2 weeks after my GP referred me and I was in for tests within a month so feel VERY blessed. Wouldn't it be fab to just both get it right this cycle though and free up those clinic spaces for some other couples!

Endogal · 02/01/2023 19:14

@CAA121 Thank you! 8-9 months feels like forever and is still tough! Fingers crossed you either fall soon or get your laparoscopy date so you're not in limbo! Is it the case you can try straight after the op? I had one in 2018 for endometriosis but wasn't trying then so didn't really ask!

@Apat10 As if! I think I probably got referred at the worst time with all the covid backlog 🤣 tbf I was fairly chilled about the wait as assumed now I'm ovulating it would be a case of they'd tell me to go back and try for 6m anyway, whereas at least now there's more reason to help if that makes sense? Absolutely! Really hope we will be part of the "fell as soon as the appointment came through" club 🤣

So funny everyone else seems to be having mental ovulation pains this month too as well as testing around the same time! Literally been laid up with a hot water bottle and eventually gave in to ibuprofen which I generally try to avoid around ovulation! Hopefully a good sign! 🙏

Anon2822 · 03/01/2023 02:39

I’m going to test on 11th xx

CZ9294 · 03/01/2023 08:12

I’m pretty convinced I ovulated yesterday as I had some mild cramping /what seemed like ovulation pain. I had my static smiley on 1st Jan. We dtd Wed 28th, Sat 31st, and Monday 2nd. If static smiley appeared with fmu on 1st Jan - do you think I should dtd tonight (3rd Jan) or is it too late now do you think?

I think they say anywhere from 12-36 hours after LH peak that eggs are released and then they can live for 12-24 hours? So I don't think it will do any harm 😊 I ovulated yesterday and we didn't have sex so I might see if I can be bothered squeezing one more attempt in tonight 😂 how romantic
