Happy new year everyone! I’ve been a bit absent over Christmas & new year but it has helped the month to go a bit quicker in terms of waiting for ovulation (really shouldn’t wish my life away!)

Has anyone used preseed before? Got some for the first time this month as I don’t produce a lot of CM and when you have to DTD so much I thought I would benefit from a helping hand haha! On the days we’ve used it I’ve noticed I’ve had a lot more EWCM when wiping hours after DTD.. just wondering if anyone had experienced this or whether it’s just coincidence as I know the preseed can’t actually make you produce
more 🤔

@bubblebab I don’t track ovulation as such either, just going off my app at the moment as I would get sucked in and obsessed with testing.. I may consider it in future if we don’t have any luck! ☺️

Congratulations to everyone who has had their BFP ☺️✨

I got pregnant with preseed

I got pregnant with preseed

Congratulations! I hope it works for us!
We haven’t been using the applicators just using as a lubricant 🤞🏼

TTCJJB · 02/01/2023 21:53

Hello!

I'm on CD9 TTC #1. I've started testing for ovulation for the first time this month, nothing so far so I'm counting this as my first cycle TTC

🤞 for everyone.

Sb86 · 02/01/2023 22:05

@Laul89 we've used preseed for the first time this month so fingers crossed 🤞🏼

PeopleAreToads · 02/01/2023 22:34

I'm finding this thread really great support at the minute. There's no where else you can tell people about your cervical mucus and DTD, thank god for mumsnet 😂 it's good to have a place to chat with people in the same boat

Baby dust to you all!

Laul89 · 02/01/2023 23:55

@Sb86 oh fingers crossed for us! You will have to let me know how you get on ☺️🤞🏼

@PeopleAreToads omg I know.. not exactly a topic you’d bring up in the office is it 🤣 I often wonder if I’m sharing too much then think nahh.. gonna post it anyway 🙈🤣😳 I’m also on a Facebook group for ttc but find mumsnet more helpful, I’ve found out so much since joining here ☺️

Morning all, I've never managed a positive OPK before but always had O confirmed by temp. Decided to go for the ClearBlue O test this month instead of the Amazon sticks as its pretty foolproof to read.

Anyway I've gone from an empty circle yesterday to a static smiley today. Nothing in between. Nothing like unexpected pressure 🤣🤣

How accurate do you reckon they are in relation to other brands?

Lx

Pitstop1986 · 03/01/2023 07:29

@Lal33 I used the clearblue ones this month. I got 9 flashing smiley's in a row before I gave up testing but no static. After about 5 flashing smiley's my cm changed from EWCM to thicker, creamier mucus so I think that it just missed ovulation for me. On day 5 I started testing 3 times per day to check, but I have a feeling I may have got my LH surge on the afternoon/evening of day 4 (if I got it at all!)

If you got your static smiley, your LH levels have risen so you'll probably ovulation in the next day or two. Make sure you DTD today!

Ncl31 · 03/01/2023 07:30

@Lal33 ive always used clearblue tests. There has been 1 month that I’ve gone from nothing to static smiley.
I decided to try the cheap Amazon sticks one month, I done them alongside the clearblue. Nothing showed on the cheap sticks but the clear blue showed both flashing and static smiley. this month I got clear ovulation cramps on day 2 of flushing smiley then got my static the next morning.
i also don’t have time at work to test multiple times per day with the cheaper sticks so I’m sticking with clearblue.

So I’m off for my HSG test this morning ladies…. Been awake most of the night worrying about it. I have no idea why I’m worrying as I know exactly what they’re going to do, I think I’m just stressed about the results maybe.
OH is going for his semen analysis this morning too.

Laul89 · 03/01/2023 07:54

@Ncl31 good luck! Hope all goes well for
you both 🤞🏼✨

I've treated myself to 2 boxes of the ClearBlue with a Christmas voucher from my uncle... In his thank you card I told him I bought make-up 🤭 purely superstitious for me because I usually use the cheapies but the one time I've ever used them before we caught with my DS! And that month we only DTD once because we were both sick (the evening I got the static smiley in the morning) it's so funny how things happen and goes to show no matter how hard and long a journey it has been you just need it to work the once. Baby Dust to you

Pitstop1986 · 03/01/2023 08:16

Love that you told him it was makeup! 😂😂

I'm always a bit sceptical because on the cheapies, in years of tracking cycles, not just when TTC, I've never had a positive ... so to get one on day 3 of CB seems nuts 🤣🤣

Lots of DTD today, tomorrow and Thursday by the looks of it, and have managed every day since last Friday just in case so let's hope that's enough because ice not got the stamina to keep this up indefinitely 🫠🤭

That's brilliant you've really given yourself every chance and that's the best any of us can do. Fingers crossed! And you know what they say... nobody on their death bed ever says they wished they'd DTD less 😂 so enjoy!

Also I might be misunderstanding how the clearblue test works but because the flashing smileys are based on oestrogen rise and the static on LH I have seen people say before that missing the flashing smileys can just mean you started testing after your oestrogen had already started rising so the test thought that was your baseline and didn't pick up the surge - really happy to be corrected by anyone with a better understanding than me though, I guess the digital holder would have to have memory of previous results for that to be true? I've only used it the once before (I'm starting my first pack tomorrow for this cycle)

PeopleAreToads · 03/01/2023 09:12

@Lal33

I never had any luck with amazon cheapies either, was worried I wasn't ovulating so invested in Clear blue.

But now also have the clear blue fertility monitor which is giving totally different results to the clear blue sticks. I went straight to static smiley on the sticks, wheras the monitor showed low and only went to flashing smiley two days after!

So going to DTD until the monitor says peak too. Just confused how they given such different results when they're supposed to be exactly the same test

So not sure if that really helps you tbh!

I get severe ovulation pains so know exactly when I'm ovulating. Everytime I've used the cb opks I've got a static smiley on the day I get the worst pain so they're definitely accurate for me

Ncl31 · 03/01/2023 10:43

Thank you all for your positive thoughts and wishes. HSG all done and my tubes are patent and there seems to be no uterine abnormalities. Trying to stay positive but not get my hopes up too much about the 30% increased chance of a BFP in the next 3 months. Baby dust to you all.

TunnocksTCake · 03/01/2023 11:39

Hi, can I join? Im on CD 4 of Cycle 3 of TTC #2 and very actively trying, already so obsessed, it's awful! I usually o on CD 16ish so will be testing at the end of the month.

For those wondering about Chemicals, I had 3 Mcs before I conceived DD1, 1 of which was a chemical and I fell pg the next month with DD. I think of all the mcs they are most likely due to chromosomal abnormalities so nothing you can do, its just one of those things. It does show you can get preggers though, so positive thoughts :) Best not to test early as pp have said, tho I know thats easier said than done!

I also used Preseed the month I conceived DD so using that again!

I am thinking of trying the CB digi ovulation strips this month as I struggle to test in the day with the cheapy ones and like how easy to read they are!
Good luk everyone :)

bubblebab · 03/01/2023 20:32

So I'm on CD4
AF usually lasts 5/6 days. (Or 5/6days+day spotting after)
Cycle usually lasts 35 days on average atm.

I started with pink spotting 31Dec which doesn't usually happen. AF stated 1Jan.
CD4 today and AF has nearly stopped, now have brown spotting. So AF is shorter than usual this cycle.

Does this change my fertile days?
How will I know my fertile days now?
I don't track ovulation

(I use OVIA app and Apple Health app to track AF)

PrimarilyParented · 03/01/2023 21:06

@bubblebab the length of your period doesn’t usually change your fertile days, but you may find that these days change each month as if you’re tracking ovulation you might find it moves around from one month to the next. It’s your leuteal phase (after ovulation) that should stay pretty consistent. I know, for instance, that mine is usually 11 days and 14 is the normally cited number but anything between 10-17 is normal.

if you’re not tracking ovulation specifically (I’m not atm) then at least look out for fertile cervical mucus and consider that the start of your fertile period.
