@lemons44 - Thank you 💗 so excited for you both @Koalie

I think its a few things at the moment - Christmas doesn't help seeing all the family stuff going on and just feeling so left out and hard done to that we cant do that stuff with our baby. Also i am 35 in a few weeks and i just feel time is running out.

I am also starting to wonder what my results look like now as its been nearly 12 months since my initial tests.

@lemons44 - my lining has always been fine on scans so not sure why they are so light and painless. How much have you been quoted for IVF meds? X

SaraSS · 14/12/2022 17:30

Oh my days.. ladies.. I'm so so early testing... and it's been left a few hours (totally against all the testing rules!!)... but if I shine a light on my IC test I swear I see a line...
It's too thick to be an indent, and I swear it's got the tiniest bit of colour.
Oh please let this be it!! I'm trying so hard not to get my hopes up... I'm aware it doesn't count if it's outside the 5 or 10 minutes, but this is the closest I've been....
I'll try and get a photo...

SaraSS · 14/12/2022 17:39

Just stared at my torch for too long and can see many stars in my eyes now lol. I'll see if I can capture it on photo asap. It's the faintest thing but I can see it... (with a back light and out of timeframe!! LOL)
Really does make you loose your mind this TTC!!

So exciting @SaraSS !!! How many dpo are you? Post a pic and we’ll help you spot the line 😂😝
I haven’t ovulated yet according to premom opks I ordered online 😬

SaraSS · 14/12/2022 19:21

@summerchild92
I'm around 7dpo (so Yes, super early)
I've actually had some symptoms (and not the imaginary ones lol) yesterday and today I noticed lots of creamy cm and the day before I had some period type pains, nothing bad but enough that I logged it on my tracking app.
I have got sore boobs today but I had to do some manual labour yesterday so I may just ache from that!
I've tried so hard to photo this test but I can't get what I can see to show up on a photo. I've done another test but it's just white, as expected really.
I'll be taking another tomorrow morning!
How many CD are you? Can't be far off ovulation now?

Carla2601 · 14/12/2022 21:01

@lemons44 try not to worry too much - it was so much less bad than I was expecting and I did really worry about hormones too but I felt fine. Not saying that means you will just mean it’s not a given that you’ll have side effects ☺️. We’ll all be here cheering you on and for any questions we can help with

Tinkerbell098 · 14/12/2022 21:52

@lemons44 @Koalie how exciting you maybe starting soon! I think long protocol is the standard they go with if there are no known issues. The only reason they put me on short was due to the national suprecur shortage at the time. Think I’ve read that you generally collect more eggs with long protocol but the number of blasts you get in the end is comparable to short so I was told there is no big difference in the end result with the two protocols (provided you don’t have any other issues eg PCOS). Also don’t worry too much about side effects. I was also dreading it all but didn’t even feel a thing other than bloating, which was quite manageable. But I was on short, so can’t really comment on the downreg part of it. How long will you be downregulating for @lemons44 ?

I have now started my frozen cycle and have a scan on Friday to see if my lining is doing ok. Frozen is much easier than a fresh cycle and I’ve forgotten that I’m actually on a cycle at the moment. I’m just on three oestrogen tablets a day so haven’t had much impact on my daily routine at all and zero side effects so far.

hope everyone else is doing ok X

Koalie · 14/12/2022 22:14

@Tinkerbell098 … thanks for the reassurance re the hormonal side of things. I think I’m most scared about the egg retrieval tbh … 😬 So pleased you’re able to get started with your FET! How are you feeling about it? X

@NatW2021 hope you’re doing OK hun. X

@SaraSS … that sounds promising! Good luck with your AM test .. keep us posted x

Koalie · 14/12/2022 22:16

@Carla2601 Getting so close now 🤭 hope you’re managing OK with the last trimester.. you must be so excited ! 🥰

Tinkerbell098 · 15/12/2022 09:47

@Koalie does your clinic knock you out completely for egg collection? Mine did and it was the best sleep I ever had! Really don’t worry about it. The only bit of ivf I found hard was the TWW, getting a BFP and miscarrying. The rest of it was a breeze honestly. I’m fine about the FET. So much more relaxed and it’s not even on my mind half the time. Having a scan tomorrow hope everything’s ok for transfer next week 🤞

Koalie · 15/12/2022 09:50

@Tinkerbell098 omg I’m so jealous. My clinic don’t do general for egg collection but I’ll be sedated. I’m petrified! When I had my missed miscarriage I had my ERPC under local with gas and air and that was bad enough 😩 I’ve never been sedated before so have no idea what to expect. 🥺 I’m so pleased you’re nice and relaxed for this transfer! I’ve got everything crossed for you that it’ll be your rainbow 🤞🏼 x

summerchild92 · 15/12/2022 12:20

@SaraSS how did your am test turn out? Fx for you!
I’m CD15, usually I get a positive by now. I got a good line just now actually, but premom app is still showing low. I’ll take a few tests throughout the day today and then tomorrow morning to see if this is actually a peak. The second line is almost as dark as the control one, so I think I should get a peak soon-ish? The opk was much lighter in the morning so I’m sure I’ve not missed it.

KatieLooLa · 15/12/2022 13:22

Well the results are in.... not terrible but not great either..
SO's sperm are going around in circles but this may be due to the time it took from the sample being collected to then being tested, so needs to do another sample.
As for me they suspect that I may have PCOS, I foresee a lot of OPK's in my future...

SaraSS · 15/12/2022 16:19

@summerchild92
Sounds like you're nearly at ovulation.. they're sometimes hard to read if it's not blazing obviously darker than the control, or if you only get chance to test once a day etc.

No news this morning, tested but just looked negative, I had a bit of a detailed look but didn't have much time before work... see what tomorrow morning brings! (Or more likely this evening lol)

summerchild92 · 15/12/2022 20:22

@SaraSS you’re right! I got a high reading at 6pm and even higher at 8pm. Haha :) I plan to take another in the morning to see if it gets even higher, then we are off for a weekend getaway with some friends! Seeing as you’re supposed to ovulate 24-48hrs after the peak I’ll probably ovulate on Saturday or Sunday…

regarding your test … I think it’s still pretry early. Are you using internet cheapies to test or have you done a frer?

Carla2601 · 15/12/2022 22:55

@Koalie i was sedated…..you’re completely out for the count but without the drowsiness of a general I felt 10/10 afterwards so don’t worry!

Tinkerbell098 · 15/12/2022 23:31

@Koalie mine called it mild sedation rather than general anaesthesia so I was still completely out and just slept through the whole thing, similar to what @Carla2601 described. The recovery was very quick I’m sure it’ll be fine X

Koalie · 17/12/2022 08:26

@Carla2601 @Tinkerbell098 oh thank god for that. That makes me feel so much less scared! I’ll just have to ask her not to be shy with the drugs 😆 thanks girls xx

Carla2601 · 17/12/2022 18:36

@Koalie honestly you’ll be fine I walked him and it’s a good mile or so! I was scared too so it’s totally normal to feel like that!

lemons44 · 18/12/2022 10:52

Hi all

@Koalie I've been back and forth debating whether to tell my bosses. They are all ladies and lovely and understanding. But I still can't decide whether to tell them or not. I work from home too so I'm lucky in that sense that I can probably hide some of the side effects if I do get any.

Thanks @Carla2601 how are you feeling? You must be so close now.

@Tinkerbell098 now you've said that I remember you saying about the national shortage. I'm really glad you are finding the frozen cycle more easygoing. Thanks for all your reassurance too ❤️ I will be having 'IV sedation' for my egg retrieval which sounds like what you and @Carla2601 had.

@KatieLooLa sorry they have found that with you OH's sperm. Is he on proxceed? I know that can really improve things. I knew a few ladies who had PCOS on an older thread and I think they were give medication to make them ovulate which really helped their cycles. So try not to panic ❤️

@SaraSS hope you are ok. It's so hard when you think you see a faint line on a test and then nothing on the next one.

@NatW2021 I completely get the age related worry. 35 is made to seem like such a scary number but remember it's not like we wake up at 35 and our eggs suddenly shrivel up like dusty prunes. No big change happens, so try not to let that worry you. I can't remember what you said your AMH was but I read that it declines very slowly. I've been quoted about 1.5k for my ICSI meds.

All good here. I need to start on day 21 and my next day 21 is the start of January and I don't think we will have our sperm transferred by then due to Xmas so it looks like we will likely start at the beginning of Feb. I feel ok about that and I think me and OH may try and squeeze in a little January UK mini break before then. The whole traumatic sperm retrieval saga really took a toll on us so we're trying to make more of a romantic effort, especially as there will be nothing romantic about how our potential future baby is conceived! x

KatieLooLa · 18/12/2022 11:45

@lemons44
Neither on any medication yet, looking into conceive plus motility for OH and ovulation support for myself, but we'll probably wait till after Christmas.
For now we're going to just enjoy the festive season, going to visit our families after 3 years (due to covid) so be nice to have some time away x

SaraSS · 18/12/2022 14:40

@llemons44
Hiya. Yeah I'm Ok, I've not seen anything on today's test (10 or 11dpo) so I'm loosing hope for this cycle.
The lines I had seen I guess were shadows? I haven't seen them before on the brand I have but I guess I know what they look like now!
You'd think I'd learn about testing early and looking after the timeframe after 18 months but I can't help myself!!
Hope you're all doing well! Apologies I'm a little quiet on here, I've been keeping busy trying to take my mind off TTC..

FlyOnTheWall89 · 18/12/2022 14:57

@lemons44 I love that idea - get away, just enjoy the two of you of know that things are going in the right direction now 💖

@SaraSS implantation is more likely to happy more than 9 days after ovulation for at 7DPO it is very unlikely to have been anything sadly. My big warning on tests early is that those first weeks crawl by at the slowest pace and if you know even earlier when the chances of a chemical pregnancy are at their highest, it will be even more gruelling. Plus it's just a waste of emotions and tests. I would put the tests down....!

SaraSS · 18/12/2022 17:03

@FlyOnTheWall89
Words of wisdom- thank you.
I have absolutely no will power with testing early though.. at this point even if I was to have a chemical, I'd want to know to show at least sperm is meeting egg! Currently I feel like the 15+ years I was on contraception was utterly pointless..! All those GP appointments, daily pills, coils etc, the amount of unprotected sex we've had and nothings happened..
Ufftt.. loosing hope as we get to the end of 2022.
Sorry to be a misery, just having a moment!

BritInNZ · 18/12/2022 23:05

@SaraSS going to agree with @FlyOnTheWall89 and say to stay away from the tests. It took us 18 months TTC and I think after the 6 month mark I didn't use any tests unless I was late for my period. The month I fell pregnant I tested a day after my period was due and there was a very clear line. Best to save the guessing, heartache and money 😊
