@Netflixnchilli It's not easy xx I think after a while I've become somewhat desensitised to it. Once I remind myself that I'm doing everything I can reasonably do to make it happen and can't do much more, I feel a little calmer. If we don't succeed this cycle, my AF will be due around 20th May and my clinic likes to do transfers at around CD18, so probably some point in early-ish June.

Koalie · 21/05/2023 13:15

@lemons44 & @TheBirdintheCave
How are you both getting on? Xx

lemons44 · 21/05/2023 13:33

@Koalie sadly first round of IVF has failed, with nothing in the freezer either.

Koalie · 21/05/2023 13:56

@lemons44 ah so sorry to hear that lovely. Have your clinic said what the next steps will be? Usually they will sit down and have a meeting about what happened and come up with a plan with how they can improve the cycle next time. Xx

Netflixnchilli · 21/05/2023 14:03

@lemons44 so sorry to hear that lovely. Sending gentle hugs, hope it’s not long before you can plan with your clinic for the next steps xxx

JSS15 · 21/05/2023 17:10

Very sorry to read your news @lemons44 i hope you can get some answers from your clinic and some positive ways to move forwards x

FlyOnTheWall89 · 22/05/2023 00:49

Gutted for you @lemons44. Sending you hugs. X

AgeGapBbe · 22/05/2023 10:52

I guess it’s time for me to join you on here. Had my implant out early Feb 2022, cycle a bit all over the place for quite a while, then started trying properly in maybe June/July? I’m 36, DP is 56 so age isn’t really on our side. I ovulate fairly regularly but I do have a couple of polps that they’d like to remove that occasionally throw my cycle out of whack and I ovulate and come on my period at the same time.

I got an Apple Watch a few weeks ago so I can track basal temp too as apparently ovulation tests aren’t always accurate? I figured it might help.

DP is meant to be having an analysis done on Thursday, it’s been a long time coming… be good to know if all my angst is wasted 😥 we’ve not had a snifter of anything this whole time.

NatW2021 · 23/05/2023 14:01

Hey Everyone.

i took some time away from things as i was just so lost, i have logged on occasionally to see how everyone is doing. Congratulations to all the new mums and mums to be and i am sorry to see some of you still on this horrible journey of TTC.

i have been working hard to lose weight as we are moving forward with IVF privately, i have managed to lose over 2 stone over the last year, a stone of that over the last 2 months to get my bmi under 35. we had our test appointment yesterday and my bmi was still slightly over 35 i was so defeated but ideally need to lose another 1/2 stone asap. We have our appointment with the dr next week and i really dont want to be told to go away and come back as we all know that adds more weeks/months to the process. I had a scan and AFC was good but my lining was only 6mm on day 26 so thats not good, its always been ok despite light periods so god knows whats happening. Just something else to worry about.

i was feeling positive leading up to our appointment but any little set back really puts me on a downer and i know we have a lot come,

sorry for the long post, just a little update from me, i just saw a post online and it just summed up the above really.

big hugs @lemons44

x

@NatW2021 Hi lovely. Welcome back! Two stone is fantastic, especially if one of them was in the last 2 months! Don’t be disheartened, just keep doing what you’re doing - sounds like you’re so nearly there :) we are all rooting for you! X

NatW2021 · 30/05/2023 18:01

@Koalie - Thanks! We had our appointment today, the DR didn't say too much about my weight but im still going to try to get it lower. All being well for a July start.

i had my AMH done again and it had gone from 9.8 last April to over 20!! I couldnt believe it. Maybe all my supplements and thyroid meds have improved things, seems like a massive jump and i dont have PCOS x

lemons44 · 31/05/2023 08:47

Thanks for your messages guys. Sorry I've been a bit quiet. This failed round hit me much harder than I thought it would!

Starting to feel more like myself now and looking onwards and upwards to round 2.

Just waiting to see what changes to my protocol we are going with. The consultant has suggested keeping the protocol the same because 'it obviously worked to get 13 eggs' but to add in LH and a double trigger shot to get more mature ones.

I am not yet convinced by this approach and want to do some research/get a second opinion. I just don't want to get 10 immature eggs again.

@NatW2021 so happy to hear from you. I'd been thinking of you and hoping you were ok 💗 that is amazing about the weight loss and wonderful news on the AMH! You deserve some good news so I'm happy it's all starting to more forwards for you. A July start will be here in no time. Do you know what type of treatment protocol they will put you on?

That picture you posted is spot on!

Hope everyone else is doing.

@AgeGapBbe I hope your OHs analysis results were ok.

xx

@NatW2021 Amazing news about the weight loss and exciting times up ahead for a July start! :D You've worked so hard to get here!

@AgeGapBbe I hope your SO's sperm results come back good :)

@Koalie I had a freeze all so we currently have six embryos in the freezer. I then had a HUGE fight with my clinic who have a stupid policy of wanting a baseline scan the month before a FET so told me that I could start the transfer cycle in August 😒 I told them this was ridiculous and asked for a medical reason as to why we couldn't go ahead next cycle. They couldn't give me one so agreed I could start when my next AF gets here.

At the moment it's just more waiting really. I'm tracking temps and using ovulation tests so I can know exactly when AF will be here. CD15 atm and no temp rise as yet.

How are you doing?

Koalie · 31/05/2023 09:14

@lemons44 So pleased you’re feeling a little more positive and ready for the next round ☺️ did you ask your clinic whether maybe just an extra day or two of stims before trigger would make a difference? Def do some research on the LH and double trigger - not sure where you could get the best advice but there might be a forum on here that could help 🤔

@NatW2021 Amazing news re your AMH! I didn’t realise it could go back up … that’s one less thing to worry about 👍🏼🥰

@TheBirdintheCave Great news for you too! Have your clinic said what your FET protocol will be? Will it be a natural cycle or will they down regulate first? Very exciting that your transfer will be so soon 🫶🏼

I’m doing OK thank you lovely. I have my 12 weeks scan tomorrow which I’m feeling rather 🤢 about. I will be 12 + 4 … longest 12 weeks of my entire life! We haven’t had a scan since 9 weeks so I’m just hyper aware that anything could have happened since then. Especially with our track record 😔 x

TheBirdintheCave · 31/05/2023 09:41

@Koalie Gosh that seems so quick though I'm sure for you it's really dragged! Let us know how it goes! Fingers crossed that everything is perfect for you 😊

We're doing a semi-natural cycle. My clinic say that they're heading towards all FETs being natural unless there are issues with lining etc so we were happy to take that recommendation and not have to have any more jabs (bar a trigger shot so that they can control when O happens). First frostie going in is a 5AB and the cycle should start around the 16th of June which is the day after we get back from our holiday. Cutting everything very fine but unless I've missed O, which I don't think I have, it should be all on track at the moment.

FlyOnTheWall89 · 31/05/2023 20:41

I am sort of managing to keep up with everyone's stories.

@Koalie Keeping everything crossed for you tomorrow. Hope it's really enjoyable and you see a little one wriggling around - I feel like that 12 weeks has flown but I totally know what you mean by the slowest 12 weeks ever and actually it's only 8 as you will have found out at 4 weeks - I felt the same....!

@lemons44 so gutted for you - what a bloody journey. Big hugs x

Koalie · 01/06/2023 13:42

All good with our scan today girls. 🥰

@TheBirdintheCave that sounds ideal. I think the success rates between natural and medicated are so similar these days … my clinic wanted to go for medicated because it was easier for them to control the timings. Will they be giving you Estrogen and progesterone or just progesterone?

@FlyOnTheWall89 How’s Mum life? 🥰

TheBirdintheCave · 01/06/2023 14:04

@Koalie I think just progesterone. I hope so anyway as I have so many boxes of the stuff from the miscarriages and I'd like to use them up 😂

Such good news about your scan! I hope it was magical :D

BritInNZ · 01/06/2023 21:49

Like @FlyOnTheWall89 I've just managed to check in. So sorry to hear it didn't work this time around @lemons44 - fingers crossed the new protocol will help!

The first 8 weeks with Oscar were horrific and I had deep regrets - which is crazy when you think what I went through to get here?! One day he screamed for 12 hours straight. But then when he hit 8 weeks, it was like a switch flicked and now he's a lovely chilled baby. He does 7.30-7.30 overnight with two feeds, and easily goes down for naps. Although he's still king of catnaps and only does 45 minutes, and then will throw me off when he does a 2.5 hour nap and I have to go wake him 🤣 I had no idea just how hard a newborn would be and I think it will be a long time before I can even think about any more - which is just as well, because TTC was pretty horrific too!

Hope everyone is keeping well. Sorry to see not everyone has got what they've wanted yet - I will keep hoping you all get there soon x

FlyOnTheWall89 · 01/06/2023 22:45

@Koalie yay! You must be on a real high!

Mum life is amazing, I have to say I completely love it. Maybe a little lucky as baby hasn't had colic or reflux or anything. She's super chilled and sweet and very patient. Just one wake up at night and sometimes will go from 8 till 5ish. Just dream feeding her now to see if she will go through the night from now. Like Oscar @BritInNZ , she is definitely queen of catnaps 😂, but stays on good form so we roll with it. If I let her sleep on me though she will stay asleep for 2/3 hours but then I get nothing done at all haha. It's a trade off. No real routine, just following feeding and sleeping cues at the moment, but enjoying our much longed for baby bubble so much.

Looking forward to some more positive news on here soon! Xxx

Koalie · 02/06/2023 11:55

@BritInNZ & @FlyOnTheWall89 so lovely to hear how you’re both getting on, thank you for sharing 🫶🏼 I will certainly be winging it when the time comes, as I know nothing about babies 😂🥴 x

2021lady · 07/06/2023 09:57

@2021lady I don't see a line, I'm sorry 😞

lemons44 · 12/06/2023 08:27

Hello all, just wanted to give an update.

I wasn't initially very happy with the suggested changes to my new protocol for my second round of IVF as I didn't think they were changing it enough so pushed for my consultant to get a second opinion. I'm happier with it now.

I will be moved on to short protocol (I was on long protocol before). They are adding LH hormones, increasing my stims from 150 to 225 (ovitrelle) and changing me from a single trigger to a double trigger shot.

I'm really hoping that this complete shake up will give me better results as 10 of my eggs were immature and unusable last time.

Has anybody had LH before?

I'm am wondering if this may really help me because when we were trying naturally, I used to take those cheapy ovulation strips. I very rarely would get a positive one despite peeing on them religiously! And they measure LH surge I think? So perhaps my body doesn't release much LH on its own. 🤔

@NatW2021 how are you doing? Excited to start in July? I think I may be starting round 2 in July but not been confirmed yet.

@Koalie so happy your scan went well 😘 I hope it was magical for you 💗

How is everyone doing?

Xx
