Clear blue test. Evap line or positive

I'm about 8/10 dpo as I'm not certain what day I ovulated. I did a test and forgot about it and went back to it after an hour. I've heard bad things about CB and evap lines, but the line is very much blue.

To clarify: in the photos it’s the same test. One photo after 5 minutes and one photo after 3 hours.

If I'm honest, quite possibly evaps. But I wouldn't rule it out. I'm only going by the thinness of the lines. Thin lines often aren't real sadly. I'd get a different brand of test, ideally a pink one. Or a digital and hope you're far enough along for it to work.

Was this the test where you need a cross or one line? The line looks a little thinner than should be but hard to tell?

Hello, update in my case, from top to bottom 9,10,11 days post ovulation clear blue early detection tests. I got this evaporation line on the 9 dpo test so tested again the next two mornings and they seem negative… should I keep testing? I assume the hCG would be detected by now, i expect my period in 2 days…

@Pbnn I would wait and see if your period comes. Unfortunately it does look like it was an evap as the later 2 are negative.

@Pbnn or get a boots early detection pink dye test. These are much more accurate than these Clear Blue tests

@allgoodthings84 unfortunately these aren’t available in my country and I’m sure my period will be late because of the stress… was thinking of doing a blood test just to be sure (I am not trying to conceive)

@Pbnn was you stressed before ovulation? Stress making periods late is usually because it makes ovulation late which then makes your period late. If it’s the not knowing making you stressed (so wasn’t stressed before ovulation) then your period should come around the right time if it’s just the stress.

I would wait and see if your period comes and then if not go from there. The line does look like an evap to me. You could wait until your period is due as then the line should be an obvious line if pregnant.

It may be too early to test? Are you having any symptoms? I’ve had the same with testing but symptoms of pregnancy so confusing!

Final update on my tests (in case it helps with others that had similar lines): the photo I previously posted was indeed an evaporation line. Got my period today.

I am not ttc we had an accident a few weeks ago and I did take a morning after pill. I am no longer with my boyfriend so the result of this is very stressful because now just isn’t the time for me sadly. I took the test just as a precaution.

The first one didn’t display until about an hour later. I’m not sure if they “time out” but it definitely has gotten darker since 9am.

Which is why I took the other 2 because I was freaking out.

To my understanding reading this thread that’s not a valid line? Opinions please xxxx

@SH1992 I’d personally say Evap lines! And the digital one is the most accurate but can take longer to detect! Hope this helps!

@SH1992 I also think these are definitely evaporation lines! Not sure when you tested so just do another digital test once your period is late to avoid all this unnecessary stress these clearblue are causing… you will be fine!

Hello, do you think this is a positive? It came up with a very very faint line straight away on both and got slightly darker. I then retested with a cheaper pink dye test from co op this morning and both negative? 🥴 I have Pcos and don’t have regular periods but I did have a Period ending June 24th and had unprotected sex twice in my ‘ovulation week’. Thank you ✨

Hey all!

so I tested yesterday and had a faint line within the 3 mins which turned darker after the 3 min mark (photos 1 and 2) tested again this morning (first wee following the rules, picture 3) and it’s negative on everything. Was it just an evap line? I’m due on in 5 days but waiting for that just sucks and I have a slightly higher temperature than normal and a small about of cramping on one side, is this just in my head?

Hi, first time posting. My period is due in four days and I got the faintest blue line followed by a stronger line awhile later - but I'm not sure if it's an evaporation line. Really want to test again but all the pharmacies are closed with the bank holiday and I'm going crazy! Anyone else have similar looking tests? Pics are of the same test
