How long did it take the first time?

This is utterly ridiculous but Google is shit at 'advice' and I need some real people..

How long did it take you to conceive first time? Google sets unrealistic expectations and I'm sick of feeling crap because of it..

I am TTC baby no1 and I need some real answers in how long it took, or if you are still trying?

✨Thank you

It took us 11 months. And 2 early MCs along the way. Sending you lots of luck 👶🏼 xx

Mayfield87 · 10/10/2022 19:18

4 months first time, just conceived 2nd on first time. Hoping all goes okay 🤞🏻

PinkButtercups · 10/10/2022 19:26

First time with DS.

3rd time lucky so two failed conception cycles for these twins now 28+2.

I've never taken any contraceptive pills so not sure if that helped or not.

PandaOrLion · 10/10/2022 19:26

First month.

We both had so many things against us (health and age mostly) that we had agreed to give it a year. It was a shock to conceive the first month we tried.

Rainbowsunshine1 · 10/10/2022 19:27

5 years for my first, although that is due to infertility

Scarlett868 · 10/10/2022 19:29

4 years for me. And only conceived with ivf.

tootrueblue · 10/10/2022 19:29

21 cycles and counting...

Dovana · 10/10/2022 19:29

First month for me with DC1. But for several of my friends (with no fertility issues) it took about a year of trying.

dmb91 · 10/10/2022 19:35

First go with DS.

6 months, two miscarriages TTC #2... currently 4 weeks pregnant 🤞🏽

mondaytosunday · 10/10/2022 19:42

Four months. I was 40. Second time again four months (42). Didn't track anything, was just vaguely aware of when mid cycle was and had sex regularly.

SarahShorty · 10/10/2022 19:43

1st month trying, was a chemical.
5th month trying, was a chemical.
I'm on cycle #6, waiting to see if AF shows. Not hopeful this time.

yerdaindicatesonbends · 10/10/2022 19:44

About 18 months

SuperlativeOxymoron · 10/10/2022 19:46

Actually trying trying? 8 months and 3 miscarriages.

After stopping preventing? 3 years and nothing happened until I started tracking ovulation.

Midnights · 10/10/2022 19:46

Three years in and nothing yet - will update if it ever happens 😂

justanotherlaura · 10/10/2022 19:48

Cycle 6 was a chemical pregnancy, cycle 8 was the one that stuck, 38 weeks today!

I have short cycles so 8 was only 6 months of trying

PinkSyCo · 10/10/2022 19:50

11 months for my first.

Brandybucks · 10/10/2022 19:51

We had the bizarre situation of seemingly becoming more fertile with age.

DS1- 17 months
DS2- 8 months
DS3 - 7 months
DS4- first try (I’m not even sure you’d call it trying)

We were fertility tested whilst trying for our first and my husband was diagnosed with a very low sperm count and advised to have ICSI (we didn’t need it in the end) so have no idea what’s happened since then. All I know is all the sperm he does have are clearly male 😆

QueenOfWeeds · 10/10/2022 19:53

About 12 or 13 months but it felt like forever. I was temping/tracking on 3 different apps and on OPK and there was no triangulation/overlap so we booked a private fertility consultation. £500+ later, and I was pregnant, naturally, by the time our test results all came back as normal. I would pay again though, in similar circumstances, just to put my mind at ease.
