Just swinging by to say good luck for tomorrow @VenusStarr will be thinking of you! Hope you have some juicy follicles & lovely lining 🤞 keep us updated xx

@InvisibleDreamer congratulations to you! Keep us updated on your journey too, always lovely to hear good news!

@Faithhopelove83 i’m glad your symptoms have come back! I wish I could help you in that department but I’ve never reached beyond 4 weeks so wouldn’t have a clue about symptoms! Good luck for Wednesday!

No updates from me, my referral for the hysteroscopy on the nhs is well overdue. I should have heard back last Monday to see if they accepted/rejected my GPs urgent referral so I’ll be chasing it up tomorrow. If they reject it, I’ll be getting it done privately on Friday so just keeping my options open for now.

Zest11 · 11/04/2023 06:31

@InvisibleDreamer congratulations!! I really hope this is it for you!!

@Faithhopelove83 I'm glad your symptoms have come back! With my 1 successful pregnancy I do remember ringing up my midwife so upset that all my symptoms had gone at one point. I also have memories of my head repeatedly down the toilet and thinking the sickness would never go so I think the coming/going is quite common. It's such a stressful time.

@VenusStarr good luck today! Keep us posted!

@star2022 that's annoying, I hope the nhs are able to squeeze you in!

No news here, waiting for next period and pre IVF tests as our last egg collection was a few years ago. Goodness knows how I will respond this time, if at all!

VenusStarr · 11/04/2023 09:28

Thank you @star2022 @InvisibleDreamer @Zest11 it's good news! Seriously never get good news, am in shock. Dr Edge was so lovely, kept saying she was really chuffed. So my lining is 7.4mm (had chronic thin lining last year, so this is amazing). Got a well done for that! 🤣 Got 2 follicles on my left and a smaller one on the right - that ones probably too small. Triggering tonight 🙏
I do have a dermoid cyst so having my bloods checked to see of its sinister (unlikely). So am hooked up to intralipids 🥰

@star2022 hope you can get things sorted.

Hope everyone is doing well xx

star2022 · 11/04/2023 20:35

@VenusStarr I've been waiting for your update all day just got into bed to have a look and oh my god, I’m so happy for you!! This is just what you needed to hear after such a stressful time abroad, I’m so glad things are starting to look better for you. Dr Edge is really lovely isn’t she? She really spends a lot of time with you and is so friendly. Was this the first time you added in the injections? Is that the only thing different you did this time? Maybe also having a long break from ttc helped too. Either way, great news!! X

star2022 · 11/04/2023 20:38

Ps I just realised the time, yes I know it’s super early and I'm in bed already don’t judge me 🤣

just saw your post @Zest11 how are you feeling about doing ivf again after a few years? Are you staying with the same clinic as last time?

VenusStarr · 11/04/2023 21:28

Thank you @star2022 🥰 nice to get good news for once. I only did letrozole this time as all the delays with dh's illness I didn't get chance for gonal f. But Dr Edge said she's happy with me on this dose for now (7.5mg).
Definitely think I'm ovulating already - just done trigger but think my body was already going. It's intense. Dr Edge was so thorough, I like her.
I'm doing gcsf this time, so taking that next Wednesday. Trying not to get my hopes up.

I'm knackered, wish I could go to bed, but got to wait up for dh from work so we can have scheduled sex! 😅

Faithhopelove83 · 12/04/2023 11:11

Thank you @star2022 and @Zest11 🙂, really appreciate the support and encouragement x

InvisibleDreamer · 12/04/2023 14:30

Hi All, Does anyone on here suffer with ibs/gastro issues? Had a bit of a flare up this morning due to eating a little cheese and tomato yesterday and now panicking I’ve caused inflammation and ruined my chances. Also worried that although my clinic said it’s up to me if I want to take higher dose steroid under doctor Gorgy’s recommendation they have only prescribed enough to take 15mg a day. I have got a follow up with Dr G tomorrow so hopefully can get this sorted asap. At this point I’ve had a cold for over a month so must be doing something! Any thoughts/experiences?

Faithhopelove83 · 12/04/2023 15:50

Thanks again everyone xx
I am relieved to say that the scan went well! There was an agonising bit when he could see the pregnancy sac and yolk sac but no fetal pole. But after some more searching, there was baby with heartbeat. All looks well. I'll have another scan at 8+2 when I go in for my next intralipids.

So happy that everything is going well with your SO cycle @VenusStarr .

Any update on your NHS referral today @star2022 ? Glad you've got the fallback of private on Friday.

Hope you get to start your IVF cycle soon @Zest11 . Sounds like it's been a while? How do you feel about it?

Sorry you've had a flare-up of ibs/gastro issues @InvisibleDreamer . Do you think it could be pregnancy related rather than inflammation? I've been having some issues (sorry for TMI, but have been belching a lot yesterday and today) but it's pregnancy related as I wouldn't normally get that. I hope you get the advice and reassurance you need at your appointment tomorrow. I'm on 20mg pred as well as intralipids.

VenusStarr · 12/04/2023 16:18

That's great news @Faithhopelove83 🥰 so pleased for you. Are you all on track for your dates etc? Glad you brought it forward.
Thank you, I'm pleased that, for once, things seem to have been as they should. Last 2 times I had to go back as the first scans were not good. Just got to keep my hope in check. We're doing all we can and I've got a tonne of immune meds to take as well, it's just a waiting game 🙏

@InvisibleDreamer I'm sorry you're worried. I also think it could be a pregnancy thing, I tend to find progesterone does have an impact for me sometimes. Hope you can get the steroid dose sorted tomorrow too.

@star2022 hope all is in hand for your hysteroscopy and you're not delayed too much with ttc. I had one at crp and they do look after you.

Hope everyone is doing ok xx

star2022 · 12/04/2023 16:24

@Faithhopelove83 ahh that's amazing!!! So happy for you! I hope that's settled your nerves a little? Really good news!! Could you remind me of what your story is, like did you have ivf? I always seem to mix people up so apologies for asking if you've already mentioned it.

@VenusStarr haha bless you, I hope you managed to dtd! I remember for our first SO cycle, we had trigger on the same day as the scan and we'd planned to stay at my sisters in Epsom that night as we're 3.5 hours away, but because we had to have sex that night, we ended up having to jump on the motorway immediately and rush back lol, the things we have to do ey!

We've decided to stick with CRP to have the hysteroscopy done this friday privately. I should have heard back from the NHS on 3rd April but have had nothing and I don't think these dr strikes have helped. I'm getting impatient and just want it done now so that I don't waste another cycle and can start SO 2 at the end of april when period is due. For those that have had a hysteroscopy, how was your recovery? Were you able to try again after a few weeks? Do they check for other things while they're in there? I'm a little nervous but excited as I'm trying to tell myself its one step closer to a little one 🤞🏼

VenusStarr · 12/04/2023 17:03

We did @star2022 dh did say he's struggling with it been so scheduled to be honest... 2 more left! It's just so unromantic isn't it? 🫠

I had a hysteroscopy at crp last year, they didn't find anything that time. But when I had one with the nhs before, they removed a polyp. I had minimal bleeding and cramps for a couple of days after - not unbearable just uncomfortable and feeling like you've been messed with. Both times I got the all clear to ttc again and did actually conceive after the polyp removal the next cycle but it was a chemical. They do have a good look around though.
Fingers crossed you'll get the all clear for next cycle. Is it Mr Jan doing it? He came and spoke to me after and explained everything and I got a letter either that day or quickly after, can't remember but it was efficient!
Is your SO with just letrozole or do you have gonal f too? X

Faithhopelove83 · 12/04/2023 17:12

Thank you so much @VenusStarr . Measuring 6+3 which is spot on.
Yes, keep the hope 🙏. Like you say, you're doing everything you can. I hope you have a good 2ww xx

Thank you also @star2022 🙂. Yes, it's settled my nerves a little but still a long way to go. Need to get into the second trimester before it's the furthest I've been.
No worries, I get everyone mixed up all the time!
So I'm turning 40 in a few months. We've been ttc our first child for over 6.5 years and have had 3 miscarriages along the way.
Initially "unexplained" infertility but subsequently identified high levels of dna fragmentation in DH's sperm. Also vaginal microbiome issues. More recently, I've been diagnosed with NK cell / immune issues.
3 cycles of IUI - 1 BFN and 2 BFP - MCs.
2 fresh cycles of IVF/ICSI - 1 BFN and 1 BFP - MC.
1 FET - BFP, currently 6+3.
I'm currently on estrogen, prednisolone, Lubion, Cyclogest and Inhixa/Clexane as well as intralipids.
And you?
That's good you're all set for Friday. I've not had a hysteroscopy before. I've had a laparoscopy and they checked my tubes and also for signs of endometriosis. I took a few days / 1 week to recover. I'm not sure how that compares to a hysteroscopy, sorry. Hopefully it won't delay anything for you. You're bound to be nervous and I'm glad you're excited too. I love your attitude - one step closer to little one!

star2022 · 12/04/2023 17:21

@VenusStarr I totally know how you feel, dh also struggles with it being so scheduled and its completely taken the fun out of it to the point where I just want it over with asap lol. It's what 4 years of ttc has done to us and its so difficult as it makes the process even more stressful. Glad its just 2 more left - you sound like me waiting until its over with lol.

Oh thanks for the info 💕 I'm glad its not too bad with recovery. Sorry to hear about your chemical. I sometimes wonder if this polyp is our issue, or the cause of high nk activity/inflammation in the uterus so I just hope it'll be worthwhile. Did you ever have painful periods with the polyp present? or did you see an improvement after removal?

And yes its Mr Jan who I've heard is good and I'm glad they update you straightaway. Was there a reason you needed to have another one done with CRP? I really hope he gives us the green light to try again. I'm just on letrozole at the moment and seem to be responding well on 5mg so I think I'll stay put unless anything changes. What dose steroids will you be on and do you usually start them one day after ovulation? xx

VenusStarr · 12/04/2023 17:31

@Faithhopelove83 your situation is so similar to mine. I really hope your little one continues to grow strong ❤️💓 I'm 40 at the end of the Summer, really hope this birthday is different.

@star2022 I'll start 25mg pred on Thursday. I'm temping as well, so will see what they show tomorrow. I'm tempted to hold off on cyclogest til the weekend though. Dh keeps saying why are we paying so much when you just do your own thing?! But I delayed the estrogen this time and it worked, so I do think sometimes you have to trust yourself. It's hard after all this time though.

I don't think my periods were more painful with the polyp - I didn't actually know I had it til the hysteroscopy. I'd had a hsg and a miscarriage before it and nothing had shown up. I thought I was having a fibroid removed but they didn't see any (my fibroids are all in my lining). It's weird as I don't have the typical issues of pain or bleeding with my fibroids or adenomyosis.
Are you getting heavy bleeding or pain with your polyp? I definitely think it's better to remove as I think they make the environment not great.
Glad you're responding well to that dose 🤞 you can get straight back into it next cycle xx

star2022 · 12/04/2023 17:40

@Faithhopelove83 glad everything is on track! Sorry to hear of everything you've been through, hopefully now you can see some light at the end of the tunnel a bit even though I know you'll still be anxious until you pass the benchmark. Stay hopeful 🙏 Was this your first round where you've implemented the steroid/clexane protocol which has helped give you the BFP do you think?

We've been ttc for 4 years with unexplained infertility. Last year embarked on our ivf journey. I did an egg retrieval which only gave me 2 eggs as I didn't respond well to stims. Fresh cycle failed, then FET failed. I then did another retrieval on an estrogen priming protocol, and got 8 eggs this time but the quality of them were worse than the first time for some reason. Had a fresh cycle, blast transferred which resulted in a chemical (this was my first and only bfp I've had) and then I found out I had positive Antinuclear antibodies so was put on an immune protocol for my 4th transfer FET but was only on 10mg prednisolone (which dr s says wouldn't have done anything). This also failed. My ivf consultant had also found a polyp after my chemical, but told me it had gone before we did the 4th. I found my notes this week and noticed that the polyp was still actually there so I'm pretty annoyed as they shouldn't have done a transfer and now it looks like its probably the same one grown.

Thank you I hope there's no delays either xx

star2022 · 12/04/2023 17:44

@VenusStarr your dh sounds like mine! I'm always tweaking things and doing my own thing too and he gets annoyed at me and says leave it with the experts but i agree you know your body.

I have been getting progressively worse periods as time has gone on, but I never know whether its just the meds I've been on or actually my period as I've been on a lot in the last 12 months. I have read some people have better periods after removal, so fingers crossed I see some change as sometimes I wonder if its endo but I try not to go down that road else I start getting really stressed lol. I hope you manage to keep busy during your 2ww, will be thinking of you x

VenusStarr · 12/04/2023 19:11

Hopefully you'll see an improvement after Friday @star2022 its easy to look back in hindsight on decisions we made but you made them with all the information you had at the time, so don't be hard on yourself.

Between the 3 of us we've got 16 years ttc under our belts @star2022 @Faithhopelove83 😪

I'm having a panic... just been to zumba (like normal) but quite quickly I felt like I was struggling with it and feeling loke i had no energy and then I got a thought that I couldn't shake off that I've messed this cycle up before it's even started. I slowed right down and just basically stepped on the spot and tried not to get my heartrate too high but its bothering me that I've ruined it before I'm even in my tww 😶☹️ can't decide if I'm being irrational or not??

InvisibleDreamer · 12/04/2023 20:45

@Faithhopelove83 glad your scan went well, I’m terrified of going to scans now. No it’s not pregnancy related I have a lot of food intolerances. It’s just very difficult to avoid everything especially when we are living with family while our new kitchen goes in & there are lots of temptations around. I’m just worried that whenever I have a flare up that I may be causing harm by creating inflammation in my body. I’ve upped my steroid dose today to try and compensate & will see what Dr Gorgy says tomorrow.

HopefulH · 12/04/2023 21:19

Hey everyone, just catching up...

That's great news @Faithhopelove83 that your scan went well today. I can't even imagine going for a first scan now I'm so traumatised by past experiences. I hope the next two weeks go fast for you!

@VenusStarr I don't imagine any amount of Zumba could mess things up for you but I understand the worry. Have you ovulated now?

I've just done my first SO cycle with CRP which didn't go too great so I'm having all the doubts. I'm on 7.5mg letrozole and had two massive follicles on day 11 (26 & 30mm) - was told by Ms Edge it's very unlikely they hold a viable egg but I triggered anyway. Official test day was yesterday which was negative - so looking ahead to our next cycle.

However, randomly I've started spotting today and feel like my period is coming early. I'm so confused as this will make my luteal phase a lot shorter than normal and I've been on progesterone!! I have absolutely no idea what's going on and I'm worried about knowing what cycle day I'm on to be able to start my next cycle accurately. Feeling a bit fed up of my body not doing what it's supposed to be doing. I wish there was a machine you could hook up to to download all your body systems and processes info - so you know exactly what the problems are and why...

Also, Ms Edge wants me on 10mg letrozole this next cycle and I'm really questioning why such a high dose. Anyone have any luck on 10mg letrozole? Worrying what it will do and if it will be too much for my very low AMH ovaries to deal with.

Hope everyone else is doing okay?

VenusStarr · 12/04/2023 21:37

Thank you @HopefulH definitely irrational then?! 🙃 haha.

I'm sorry your superovulation cycle hasn't worked / gone to plan. 2 follicles is good, I wonder if you need an earlier scan / trigger rather than a higher dose? It's horrible when it doesn't go as you expect and very upsetting. My test day is 12 days after trigger, so I think he gets us to test later than we would in a natural cycle, I had a positive opk on monday night so would've tested earlier than my plan in a natural cycle. So it might not be that your period is starting earlier.
I'm not 100% sure if I have ovulated yet, my temp is up but not to my normal ovulation temp yet. Hopefully I'll get a rise tomorrow.
I was supposed to do gonal f and 5mg of letrozole but with everything that happened I couldn't get the gonal f, so just did 7.5mg of letrozole. I felt more comfortable with the injectable meds than increasing letrozole so understand your anxiety. What was your lining like?

I hope you're OK xx

HopefulH · 12/04/2023 21:58

Thanks @VenusStarr. I've been asked to come between day 8-10 this cycle to try and catch things a bit earlier, before they are too large. My period has been late the last two cycles but I've felt both times like it should have started days before - so it's like my body can't get going with it. Thinking I may have actually been a bit later in my cycle technically than I thought but who knows?!

Cramping at the moment so think this must be my period attempting to start. Hoping I come on properly tomorrow so I can count it as cycle day 1. My lining this cycle was 9.5mm on scan day which was good. Thickest lining I've ever had! So I know technically I should have enough lining for a decent period, but my periods can be so hit and miss.

Hope you get your rise and get your sexy time in! X

Zest11 · 12/04/2023 23:08

@VenusStarr ahh I know what you mean about feeling how having sex is just something that needs to be done!! With SO does Dr s tell you the specific days (or even times or the day?!) you have to try? I'm glad you have some good follicles and I really hope this is your month!

@Faithhopelove83 yay I'm so glad thr dates are all on track!

@star2022 good luck for Friday! I think I would be the same as you and just want to get it done ASAP!

@HopefulH I'm sorry this SO hasn't worked for you. So disheartening. I hope the next one is better!

Feeling a bit indifferent towards the next EC tbh. We have had 3 embryo transfers since having my son and have now run out of embryos. I'm not really convinced this will work but I sort of feel like I have to know I tried everything and I'm not sure what else I could do other than the Dr S plan.
