@Mancbear88 im sorry if this comes across as insensitive but I can’t think of a good way to ask: when you say genetics showed a normal baby girl how did you get the genetic testing? Prior to transfer or did they test after you miscarried? And if it was after you miscarried what testing was it and how did you go about getting it? I’m sorry for your losses.

im worried I’m currently miscarrying again and wondering if it’s that the poor embryos aren’t able to make it or if they’re healthy and its me that can’t carry them. 😞

VenusStarr · 05/03/2023 19:04

Hi @Mancbear88 we have spoken before, I am so sorry you're still on this horrific journey and about your baby girl. My last pregnancy was a healthy girl too 💗 I've restarted hydroxy in preparation for ttc again (we've been on a break since last November and an ivf flop). In ivf when I did steroids, I started same day as progesterone.

VenusStarr · 05/03/2023 19:10

@AvoNw I'm sorry you're worried you're miscarrying now 💗 I've had 2 of my babies tested. First one (my 4th pregnancy loss) was medical management and I passed at home. We took him to hospital and the early pregnancy unit sent off. Took 10 weeks for results, was a healthy boy. My most recent loss (number 6) was surgical management and they sent off for testing, took nearly 11 weeks and was a healthy girl.
Have you had ivf? I found my ivf clinic were not great when they suspected miscarriage and just have us a letter to take to epu and made us leave by the fire exit into the car park so we never saw anyone. If you've had previous losses, the hospital should offer testing but in my experience you do need to ask / push for it. Sending love x

Mancbear88 · 05/03/2023 20:25

@VenusStarr sorry you’re still on this journey! Fingers crossed you’re due some good news this year. Sorry about your losses!

@AvoNw hopefully it’s not bad news.
For me genetic testing was done after the miscarriage, the EPU advised me to collect everything and then take it in for testing. They then send it off. There’s a chance that you don’t get any results. Fingers crossed it all works out for you.

AvoNw · 05/03/2023 21:07

Thank you @VenusStarr & @Mancbear88. Sorry you’ve experienced such shit. I’m only 6+2, so I imagine it’s too early to test? If this is a loss it will be our third in a row and I need to gather my strength and start making a plan for more action/investigations.

Yes it’s IVF, our third round. I rang the clinic and they said ‘just wait and see’ and that if I’m still testing positive at 7+2 they’ll scan. So I’m calling the EPU instead. They’re not open today but my alarm is set to call the moment they open tomorrow.

VenusStarr · 05/03/2023 22:11

I'm so sorry you've got this uncertainty @AvoNw I hope epu can support you tomorrow. Both of my babies stopped growing at 6+2 so definitely big enough to test them xx

JessL12 · 08/03/2023 13:31

@Hayley220 @SReyn Just coming on to check how you both are?

I just wanted to give everyone some hope who may be struggling. This is our 4th try for our 1st baby. I’m currently 13 weeks pregnant and had my testing which came back ‘normal / low risk’ for the first time ever!! I have high killer cells and currently on hydroxy / 800mg pessaries / aspirin / D3 / omega 3 / folic acid + blood pressure tablets. I’m praying for a miracle as this is the furthest I have ever got in a pregnancy but I know how hard the struggle is. I’m no where out of the safe zone but trying to take every day as a miracle.

VenusStarr · 08/03/2023 13:54

That's brilliant news @JessL12 congratulations ❤️ that's really lovely news.

We're prepping for superovulation next month (af due tomorrow so one more month off). Just got my prescription and had a panic as no one has it in stock and the one that did was going to charge me nearly £300 more than it is a crp (they cant post as its gonal f and needs refridgerating). I could just feel my stress rising and just feeling like we always hit obstacles. Called the clinic and we've got a plan. It does mean we have to out of our way on our way home from the airport after our holiday, but its sorted. Just hope superovulation with gonal f works because it's a lot of money 😭

Love to all xx

SReyn · 08/03/2023 14:39

@JessL12 this is such a lovely update to read! So happy for you and really hope you get to start enjoying this pregnancy ❤

I found out I was pregnant a few weeks ago and as expected - very anxious. I'm currently 5 weeks and 5 days. If I make it to the end of the week I need to call the EPU to book a scan at 6 weeks and 9 weeks. Honestly the thought of going for a scan makes me feel sick. Trying as best I can to take it one day at a time - I prob go to the loo at least 20 times a day to check for bleeding.

@VenusStarr have everything crossed for you and hope you have a brilliant time on holiday! xx

JessL12 · 08/03/2023 14:51

@SReyn I’m honestly so happy for you!! Please keep us updated on how your pregnancy goes, will be thinking of you 🤞🏻 I’m the same even now always check for bleeding just in case I don’t think the worry ever goes away after losses but just take it one week at a time have everything crossed for you! Xx

Thank you @VenusStarr ✨ I hope you have a lovely holiday and some time to relax

Maxime34 · 08/03/2023 16:23

That's amazing news @SReyn I also just recently found out I'm pregnant too, first time since being on plan so praying it makes all the difference. My tests have progressed very differently to previous chemicals I had last year but I know there's a long way to go before I can relax. It's all very nerve wracking and I'm still waiting for the 3+ on the clearblue test. I've got my first scan booked for two weeks time and it's going to be the longest two weeks ever. How are you feeling?

That's amazing news @JessL12 so pleased everything is going well so far.

Have a lovely relaxing holiday @VenusStarr you deserve it!

VenusStarr · 08/03/2023 17:18

Congratulations @SReyn and @Maxime34 ❤️ keeping everything crossed for you both.

Thank you for the holiday wishes 😎🌞 we definitely need a break xx

star2022 · 09/03/2023 13:03

Oh this is so amazing to read - lots of bfps!! Congrats to you all! @Maxime34 @JessL12 @SReyn ♥️ Were these via SO cycles you've managed to fall pregnant?

@VenusStarr I totally relate to the added stress and hurdles! I seem to have the same issue even during IVF I had such a nightmare getting hold of the meds. Even for SO, I was told letrozole was on a supply issue so I had to shop around for it! Glad you've managed to get a plan in place and now can really look forward to your break!

@Zest11 How are you getting on? Are you doing a second EC?

I had a bit of good news yesterday in that my repeat FSH I was told to do this month came back normal at 7.9! Last month it was 15.8 and I was worried I had DOR but looks like its normal again - the only thing I did different was really relax and control my stress levels.

Also did anyone have difficulty getting a scan in when you need to at CRP? I called on day 2 to get my first SO scan booked in but they have no availability for cycle day 12 so I've been booked in for day 9 (as the weekend gets in the way) - which seems a bit early? What's the likelihood that they will call me to come back again? Or do they just predict when I might ovulate based on the size and tell me to trigger accordingly? Also, do they provide you with the Ovitrelle at the clinic or do you have to get it from somewhere else? Is it the same price from CRP?

I hope you're all well xx

Maxime34 · 09/03/2023 14:05

Thank you @star2022 we didn't do super ovulation as getting pregnant fortunately hasn't previously been an issue for us it's the staying pregnant part we've sadly struggled with. That's amazing about your tests results. That seems so crazy that they don't have a slot for you with 10 days notice, I'm afraid I don't know much about the SO process but I hope it all works out for you!

VenusStarr · 09/03/2023 14:58

That's great news @star2022 🙏 I'm sorry they can't get you in when you needed the scan. I usually ovulate on day 10 but in both my superovulation cycles previously I had to go back 😕 day 9 is early. I'd optimistically gone day 9 in my first one and there was nothing good going on, but they added progynova and when I went back on the Friday, I was nearly ready to trigger. It's just expensive to go twice!
I've roughly mapped when I'll need to go (if my cycle plays ball) and it'll have to be day 10 or 11 as we're away for our wedding anniversary on cd12/13 - fully expecting to trigger while we're away 🙃 Hope they can grt me in as its around the easter Bank Holidays too...
Crp provide ovitrelle and you can take it with you. I can't remember the cost though. I usually take an ice pack in the car. Its not the same injection as ive used in ivf (where you twist to load, its just a preloaded syringe). Xx

comingsoon786110 · 09/03/2023 18:50

Hi everyone

I hope all is well and congrats to everyone of the BFP's and progressing pregnancies.

I have just come back from a short trip to Vienna and caught up on all the messages.

I had my ovulation intralipids today and picked up my GSCF prescription. Does anyone know how these injections work and if anyone has had success with them? I cannot find anything online a part from studies saying they don't work or are u related to RM. The leaflet the clinic provide doesnt give much info and there isnt much on youtube either so i was wondering if anyone on here knows anything that could help?

Hayley220 · 09/03/2023 20:10

@JessL12 congratulations that’s such wonderful news and gives me so much hope!! How are you feeling? So happy to hear your news.

@SReyn ahh brilliant news! How are you feeling?! It’s such a worrying time isnt it but full of hope too, keep me updated.

I had a positive test last week very early at about 9/10dpo, so very early days and very anxious. Had a bit of brown spotting but I think that was implantation bleeding as it was tiny and nothing since. I am having a scan at 7 weeks so another 2.5 weeks to go. I feel sick thinking about it! The fact that we are all on the same protocol gives me hope though too!

JessL12 · 09/03/2023 20:47

@Hayley220 I have everything crossed for you 🤞🏻 I think the wait for each scan gives so much anxiety but hang in there and keep us updated! ✨

I’m feeling ok have been really sick the first trimester it’s still there most days but definitely starting to ease, just so grateful to get past the 12 weeks stage. Feeling a bit nervous that in 3 weeks they might take me off medication, I feel like I need more answers to why they stop it at 16 weeks if it seems to be working but have an appointment in April to speak to them and ask all questions then

SReyn · 09/03/2023 21:20

Thanks so much for all the well wishes! Congratulations @Maxime34 and @Hayley220 - that's great news and have everything crossed for you both.

@star2022 I also haven't done SO but really hope everything goes smoothly for you 🙏

@Hayley220 I haven't been feeling too bad ...seem to have a bit of sickness creeping in and feel quite tired and going to bed early. I find it reassuring in a way - I had absolutely no symptoms with the previous 2 pregnancies. Have the side effects from the progesterone settled down?

Hayley220 · 09/03/2023 21:28

@SReyn yes no more cramps.. I’m pretty sure it was implantation cramps! Once they stopped I got a positive test. I just hope that means everything has implanted properly and all is ok. If there is any little thing I can worry about I will! But tests are strong and I am weeing lots, funny dreams and can smell absolutely everything. I cant really tell of my symptoms were like this in my missed mc, im hoping there are more this time but scared to say too much. How many weeks will you be at the scan? I want to wait until 7 but that’s going to be hard. I just dont want uncertainty xx

star2022 · 11/03/2023 10:42

Hi all so I thought I'd update - @VenusStarr thanks for the help regarding trigger and scans - I did in fact need my scan to be on CD9!! I had 2 dominant follicles already at 21mm and 19mm so CD12 would have been too late! My lining was perfect and Dr Edge was really happy with the response. I really liked her. She takes her time with you and it was so easy to talk to her about any of our concerns. I ended up having my trigger while I was there so it was lucky I had my scan booked when I did.

However, (there's always a however with me 🥴) she also found a small polyp in my lining, ended up having a saline hysterosonogram while I was there to check it further (yep my bill was huge) and it looks like i'll need a hysteroscopy next month to remove it - has anyone had this happen to them? Any success stories out there?

I have a feeling this could potentially be also causing my implantation issues in the first place and I'm wondering if this is my answer to 4 failed ivfs and infertility and that along with nk cells causing such a toxic environment.

@Hayley220 congrats to you too! Was this your first SO cycle?

Hope you're all well and have a lovely weekend x

VenusStarr · 11/03/2023 13:41

Ah that's great @star2022 I'm pleased you've had a good response and good lining. I think I was just very unlucky, hoping the combination of gonal f, letrozole and estrogen have a good impact for me.
I'm sorry about the polyp. I had one removed under hysteroscopy (had no idea I had one, this was back after my second loss and was part of fertility investigations at the hospital). Recovery was fine. I did read that they are better removed. Sorry you had such an expensive visit!
I agree about Dr Edge, I've only seen her a couple of times but she is really compassionate and kind. Keeping everything crossed for this cycle 🙏 xx

Hayley220 · 11/03/2023 22:38

@star2022 thankyou.. I didn’t do SO no. Just hoping all will work out this time x

NessyT91 · 12/03/2023 16:55

Hi all,
I hope you don’t mind me joining in the the thread. My background is 3 MCs, followed by treatment for NK cells (hydroxy and intralipids) that very fortunately worked and brought me my DD early last year.
We started TTC no.2 after Christmas and I fell pregnant straight away, however our first scan showed a blighted ovum, gestational sac measuring 6 weeks. This time we were not taking immune medication as my consultant felt that since my blood work showed no raised white blood cells it was worth trying without this time.
We had a review last week and she has agreed to prescribe plaquenil and intralipids but said that no amount of medication would have saved this last pregnancy as blighted ovums are always a chromosomal issue. I just wondered if any of you have experienced blighted ovums and might have some insight on this? I’m particularly interested in whether Dr S believes them to be purely chromosomal or whether they can be caused by raised NK cells?
Thanks in advance and wishing you all the very best of luck on your journeys. Once again I find myself very grateful that this group exists x

star2022 · 13/03/2023 10:09

Thanks @VenusStarr I'm really hoping this new concoction of drugs works for you this time and you get a better response! I do think I will need to get the polyp removed too, I think its what's been affected my af to be so bad so I'd rather get it removed, only issue is its another £2k+ to spend 🥴

Also, I was wondering if anyone had any advice - I had my trigger on Friday and on Sunday was experiencing really bad ovulation pains all day (so bad that even dtd was uncomfortable because of the pain in my lower abdomen) and I was told to start my Cyclogest on sunday evening. Is this normal? I thought cyclogest could cause issues if its started too soon or if ovulation hasn't taken place yet so i didn't end up using it yesterday to be on the safe side.

Today, I still am experiencing ovulation cramps but much milder, should I use the Cyclogest today or shall I wait till the cramps subside a few days?

Also in terms of doing a pregnancy test 10dpo and stopping all meds - would this not be too soon? How does it work if your luteal phase tends to be 17 days usually, as 10dpo for me wouldn't even be picked up on a first response. I've also had a trigger in the past for IVF and its been in my system for 12 days so not sure how this all works!

Hi @NessyT91 and welcome, sorry to hear about the blighted ovum - i don't have any experiences about this but i'm sure someone on here might. Hope you get some answers xx
