@comingsoon786110 I'm sorry this cycle hasn't worked. I do tend to get spotting on progesterone if I'm not pregnant (I dont get implantation bleeding), so I would stop the medication now. If you're certain about your ovulation I would think a positive would show by now. I usually stop progesterone by 11dpo if it's negative.

@Sophi81 were you on progynova too? (Estrogen). That's part of my superovulation protocol. We're not trying as planned now with dh's health - we were due to do superovulation with gonal f on my next cycle, due in a few days, but everything is up in the air now. He's out of hospital at least and we should be home by Thursday 🙏 interesting how stopping all the meds and you then conceived. Glad all is going well.

@star2022 I'm sorry your cycle didn't work out and that the trigger lingered, why is ot all so difficult 😢 are crp suggesting a hysteroscopy? I had it done with them, it is expensive but can be good to have as they'll have a good look around too. Itdoesnt seem like your GP is that supportive and you could wait months on the nhs (are you under fertility at the hospital?) My first hysteroscopy was nhs but it was part of the infertility pathway but that took 11 months from referral to op.

Hope everyone is well xx

star2022 · 28/03/2023 16:12

@VenusStarr I just feel like everything that can go wrong always seems to go wrong with me! They found the polyp at my first scan at crp this month so they did suggest it would need removing. Dh is frustrated as his argument is if it was going to be an issue then why let us continue on with SO and spend all that money for SO 1? The other issue we have is, we saw a polyp last year after my 2nd egg retrieval too (not sure if its the same one or a new one) and our ivf consultant back then told us we would need a hysteroscopy done too. While we looked to get it done privately, it actually went away on its own as it was no longer there for my 4th transfer. So we're a bit confused on what to do - if we choose to remove it via crp, its another £2k+ and it may not even be there next month in which case we've wasted money and a potential cycle trying, or do we just continue with SO cycle 2 and see if its there on the scan next month and if so, look to get it removed the following month. Crp don't answer the phone either so beginning to get a little frustrated. I know nhs will be long, but would just be good to see what they say whether its worth removing as I've also heard they can grow back!

Sorry to hear you wont be able to get a cycle started, maybe you need a month off without any stress and it might help? Glad he's coming out of hospital this week! Great news xx

VenusStarr · 28/03/2023 17:43

That's really frustrating for you @star2022 and I totally get your thoughts on it. Maybe trying again this cycle is a good option, you can check it again and hopefully you won't need a hysteroscopy.

I'm not too upset about not ttc, dh has been so poorly, it really frightened me 😢 xx

comingsoon786110 · 28/03/2023 20:34

@VenusStarr yeh I think you're right. My last day of progesterone was on Sunday and today my flow is getting heavier so period should be here by tomorrow.

I haven't taken any medication today but was wondering if I want to try again next month shall I continue with the HCQ?

VenusStarr · 28/03/2023 22:08

Big hugs @comingsoon786110 ❤️ yes with the hydroxy, I just take it everyday. I think its best if its been in your system for a few weeks. So just continue with that and the aspirin - if you're on that as well.

I restarted hydroxy in February in preparation for us ttc but ran out while we were away (would've been enough for our holiday but with dh getting poorly and us staying on, it wasn't). Will just restart when we're home. X

Zest11 · 29/03/2023 07:46

@VenusStarr what an absolute nightmare you have had! I really hope things calm down. I hope your husband is okay!! Total stress you just didn't need!

@star2022 Ahh I'm sorry the first go of SO didn't work. I know what you mean about the expectation and disappointment...even when you're not convinced something will work it's sooo disappointing anyway especially when you've been investing emotionally and financially! I know what you mean with your dh...why would they let you continue with an so plan with the polyp but say the polyp needs removing? Very annoying! I had one removed a few years ago and it was only revealed during a hysteroscopy. I was told it wouldn't be the cause of my infertility but could help with IVF. When they removed it, it was so small, they didn't even call it a polyp, just "tissue." I'm sorry, I don't know what to suggest. Another 2k is a lot of money. But equally you want to know you've done everything you can!

We are getting ready for some more IVF. Have ordered the drugs and hoping to start next cycle, period depending!

Faithhopelove83 · 29/03/2023 12:33

Hi @star2022 , I'm so sorry to hear your SO cycle was unsuccessful, and now all the confusion over the polyp. It's certainly never straightforward is it. I'm not sure what's best, but I'd be inclined to say to go ahead with second SO and see if the polyp is still there? I hope you manage to discuss it with your consultant and agree the best way forward soon.
Yes, I'm in the 2ww. Had my first FET (double transfer) and this is the first time we've added in Intralipids, Prednisolone and Inhixa, as well as Lubion and pessaries. 12dpt today, OTD tomorrow. I'm a mixed bag of emotions. It's been such a long (6.5 year) journey to get to this point. Thank you for the well wishes 🙂x

@comingsoon786110 I'm sorry this cycle hasn't been successful Flowers

How are you doing @InvisibleDreamer ?

I hope everyone else is well x

InvisibleDreamer · 29/03/2023 15:36

@VenusStarr im glad you can now go home that must be a relief
@star2022 it may be worth getting it removed if you can, I was told they can cause implantation failure or miscarriages but I don’t know how true that is (I suspect no one actually knows) I was lucky that I was able to have one removed whilst I was having a hysteroscopy/laposcropy. It’s a lot of money and hard to say if it’s worth it but I also had silent endo so I guess I’m glad I did it in the end.
@Faithhopelove83 thanks for asking. I’m not feeling that great head is all over the place. Had my transfer yesterday and just feel like it’s not going to work this time round. OTD is not for 2 weeks even though I did day 5 transfer. Considering testing before Easter Sunday as it’s my 40th celebration with family & want to know if I can have a glass of champagne! Going to be such a downer if it’s negative though am actually dreading taking a test. I hope you get a BFP tomorrow.

Faithhopelove83 · 30/03/2023 13:39

Thank you @InvisibleDreamer 🙂.
I'm so sorry you don't feel positive about this transfer. It's so hard isn't it, especially after failure after failure. I really hope you get a BFP - what a lovely birthday present that would be! I turn 40 this summer.

Faithhopelove83 · 30/03/2023 13:45

Thank you agaim @star2022 and @InvisibleDreamer.
So it's my OTD today and it's a BFP. So grateful to have got this far but conscious I've been here 3 times before - and I've got a long way to go (into second trimester) before I'll be beyond the furthest point I've got before - so it's very scary. I've got my 7 week scan booked and I'm trying to sort out my next lot of intralipids. This is the first time I've added in the intralipids and pred, so hoping that will make the difference. I'm encouraged by all the success stories on this thread!

Hope everyone else is well x

star2022 · 30/03/2023 16:02

@comingsoon786110 Oh I'm sorry to hear your cycle hasn't worked, sending you lots of love xx

@VenusStarr hope you have a safe journey home today and I hope you both get time to destress and dh has a speedy recovery, sending love xx

@Zest11 I know right, this is what I'm worried about if its just going to be a waste of money, but I feel with the way things are and no success to date - it's like you get backed into a wall having to just do what they say as there's a worry that it might be pointless doing SO if the polyp is the issue. We've decided to get our first scan booked in for SO 2 next week and if the polyp is still there, we will have to get it removed. If its gone on the scan, then we continue with SO. I really hope your period comes on time and this is it for you! Good luck 🍀

@InvisibleDreamer Thank you for the advice, I will definitely be getting it removed if its still there this month. Will have to just part with the £2k and take the hit. Good luck with your cycle, I really hope you get some good news!

@Faithhopelove83 I am sending you cautious congratulations! It's definitely good news to know that your meds have worked and you just never know these additions this time, could be the answer to a sticky baby! Stay positive, sending you lots of well wishes! xx

Faithhopelove83 · 30/03/2023 18:36

Thank you @star2022, I really appreciate it ❤
Your plan sounds like a good one. I hope it goes well - keep us posted xx

Zest11 · 30/03/2023 22:01

@InvisibleDreamer ahh that is a long 2ww. Have you got much going on to keep busy? (Easier said than done!)

@Faithhopelove83 congratulations on the bfp! It's a good start! But equally I completely get that it's just the first step. Have you got your intralipids booked now? Also, what is inhixa?

@star2022 I think you have a good plan in mind. Do you feel better now you have decided what you will do? I do think it's a good idea to get it removed so that you would know everything is okay! But hopefully at your scan it will have gone anyway!

@VenusStarr how are you? Have you got back to the UK now? I really hope everything has calmed down!

InvisibleDreamer · 31/03/2023 00:11

@Faithhopelove83 I’m pleased you got your BFP fingers crossed it’s a sticky one
@Zest11 trying to keep self
occupied. OH has a couple of days off so plan to hit the shops tomorrow as a bit of a distraction. Not sure what I will do after weekend. Not having any of the twinges I had with previous BFP so pretty sure I’m out.

Faithhopelove83 · 01/04/2023 19:59

Hi @Zest11 , thank you so much ❤
Yes, my intralipids (3rd lot) are booked for this Tuesday. Then scan 2 weeks after that. Inhixa is a blood thinning injection - I think it's similar to Clexane, which most people seem to be on. I see you're getting ready to start some more IVF - I hope all goes well with that and you get to start soon x

Thank you @InvisibleDreamer
Thinking of you during this difficult 2ww. Glad you're managing to distract yourself a bit x

VenusStarr · 02/04/2023 10:55

Hi @Zest11 thank you for asking. We're home! Finally. Never been so happy to be in rainy UK. Dh still needs more surgery, so got to navigate all that. How are you?

@InvisibleDreamer 🤞 for this transfer

@Faithhopelove83 hope you're feeling OK.

@star2022 are you in your next cycle now? Your plan sounds sensible. Hopefully you can continue with supero.

We've decided to do superovulation this cycle, dh was the one that suggested it. I didn't get gonal f in the end, but have letrozole so checked with the clinic and they said its fine. So cd2 today and popped my first pills! So hoping scan will be after the Easter weekend. Feels vert surreal to be ttc again after all this time. I don't particularly have high hopes to be honest.

Love to all xx

Faithhopelove83 · 03/04/2023 08:45

Hi @VenusStarr , thanks for asking. I've been ok (up to now), lots of reassuring symptoms. But when they come and go for a bit, I freak out. I've been having bad insomnia and last night was the first night I didn't, so that got me worried. I've fallen into the testing trap and this morning's test seems lighter, so I am very upset and panicking. I'm supposed to be back at work today and intralipids tomorrow. I'm so scared, I couldn't handle a 4th miscarriage. I wish I hadn't tested, but I also don't want to be in the dark for 2 weeks only to be given bad news. I've just been using cheapie test strips. The second line comes up immediately but today's looks lighter. I'm too scared to use the CB weeks indicator, in case it goes down, but maybe I'll have to later. I feel physically sick with worry.
I'm sorry, I know everyone is having such a difficult time x

VenusStarr · 03/04/2023 09:06

Oh @Faithhopelove83 it is so, so hard not to analyse everything ❤️ are you on pred? Is there anyway you can bring your scan forward?
Do you think being at work will be a good distraction? Just thinking if not, stay off and look after yourself. I completely understand the out of control worry feelings. You're not alone xxx

Faithhopelove83 · 03/04/2023 09:29

Thank you @VenusStarr , I really appreciate it xx I've got myself so worked up. Yes, I'm on 20mg pred a day, along with Lubion, Cyclogest and Inhixa. I don't think my scan can be brought forward because they don't do them until 7 weeks and there's the Easter holidays, but I'll maybe ask. Does your clinic do scans at 6 weeks? I'm not sure if work will be a good distraction or just make me more stressed. I'm so desperate to tell them the good news, for it to stay that way and to go off on mat leave in due course. I can't bear juggling infertility/treatment with work, the rollercoaster of lengthy sick-leave periods after every MC, the endless calls with HR, anymore. I'll maybe try to do a half day WFH. Sorry I'm in such a tissy and thank you for being there xxx

VenusStarr · 03/04/2023 09:41

@Faithhopelove83 you've got such a lot going on, plus all the meds and hormones swirling round. I think working from home is a good idea, maybe getting out for a walk somewhere as well.
My Reproductive Immunology doctor does scan at 6 weeks, which I do think is early. But saying that my ivf clinic did scan at 6+2 in my last pregnancy.
I understand all of your thoughts about the what ifs and juggling everything. It's very overwhelming. Anything you can do to help you get through these early days can only be a good thing xxxx 💗

Faithhopelove83 · 03/04/2023 10:09

Thank you @VenusStarr , it's so helpful and comforting that you understand. And you're completely right. I'm all over the place. I've emailed my nurse to see if they can bring forward the scan from 7+2 to 6+3 or do BETA blood tests. But if I do a CB digital with weeks indicator later, I guess that will tell me whether it's dropping or not. I'm torn between wanting to know and not wanting to know. It's so distressing. Right, I need to calm down and face the music at work, see how it goes. Thank you for everything ❤xxx

MrsMargot · 03/04/2023 14:15

Hi everyone,

Apologies I have been a bit absent but I needed to sort out my head out. I will properly catch up but I can see a few congratulations are in order!

In my case, we received the histology results and it looks like this time it was an abnormal embryo. Obviously I went deep into Dr Google and I was trying to figure out how random this is and wether it signifies anything. I have a meeting with the actual doctor tomorrow to figure out next steps. I suspect he will say we continue as we are and we might be luckier next time. This is so unknown that in itself feels me with dread.. We will see.

InvisibleDreamer · 03/04/2023 14:29

@VenusStarr what a relief you are finally home!
@Faithhopelove83 keeping everything crossed for you. It’s so horrible that even if we get a BFP we can’t relax now.
@MrsMargot sorry for your loss. Was the embryo tested prior to transfer at all?

MrsMargot · 03/04/2023 14:47

@InvisibleDreamer It was a natural conception. We tested what i caught when i was miscarrying. We have tested a few (i have had 3 mc then a successful pregnancy and then another 2 mc) and it was the first time the embryo was abnormal.

VenusStarr · 03/04/2023 20:57

Hope you're doing ok @Faithhopelove83 ❤️

Hi @MrsMargot I'm sorry about your baby. I hope your appointment goes well tomorrow. Did they say which chromosomes were affected?

Hope you're getting on OK with your tww @InvisibleDreamer

I've got my superovulation scan next Tuesday, will be cd11. Really hoping its not too early. I naturally ovulate around day 10 but when I've done letrozole both times I had to have 2 scans and I ovulated late so a bit anxious the timing will be wrong.
Those who've done superovulation, have you done anything in particular to help follicle growth / for your lining? I'll be taking estrogen for my lining but delaying that until I've finished the letrozole. X
