Thank you @Ifitistobesaid he was going to be brought home with a nurse escort but no UK beds (no comment)... so insurance have asked hospital here to do it. But they need to transfer him which as its Friday, won't happen till next week now ☹️

Hayley220 · 17/03/2023 19:39

@VenusStarr just had to say I am so sorry to hear your hubby is unwell and it’s all happened on holiday. Hope you get home fast and surgery is sorted xx

Ifitistobesaid · 17/03/2023 20:10

@VenusStarr are the insurance company covering the costs? I hope you’ve been able to visit him in the hospital, you must be worried sick.

VenusStarr · 18/03/2023 14:31

Yes @Ifitistobesaid they are covering it, they've sorted emergency accommodation. I'm just constantly anxious 😟 so may unknowns x

InvisibleDreamer · 18/03/2023 18:35

@star2022 & @LuckyNo14 I’m also on aspirin but only a low dose & only on 40 of clexane. I don’t have any clotting issues either but I think the clinics line of thinking is that these things don’t do any harm so it’s worth a try 🤷‍♀️
@HopefulH I’ve had endo removed during an exploratory laparoscopy but I think I was only stage 1. Hasn’t made any difference in terms of being able to get pregnant not that I’m suprised!
@VenusStarr thats awful I hope your OH recovers quickly please keep us updated.

InvisibleDreamer · 21/03/2023 23:52

Anybody got any thoughts on steroid dosage? Can you be over suppressed? My clinic says a dose of 20 or more is very high & I’m at risk of infections. Already struggling to get rid of a cold having just gone up from 10 to 15 when I never usually get any illnesses. Is there any point upping the dose pre transfer to 20? I’ve been told I can do so but wondering if there is any benefit.

Faithhopelove83 · 22/03/2023 07:56

Hi @InvisibleDreamer ,
I'm sorry to hear you've been unwell and struggling to fight it off on the steroids, that must be really miserable and worrying.
I'm new to this so I don't have any thoughts on the dosage, but what I can say is that my consultant put me on 10mg of pred from day 1 of my cycle and then doubled this to 20mg from the day of FET transfer. Also had 2 lots of intralipids. Currently waiting to find out the outcome. My consultant said I should avoid busy enclosed spaces and people who are unwell. I've been going further than that and near isolating (save for walks in the countryside) as I don't want to take any risks, but I'm probably being a bit paranoid! I don't think you can get over suppressed on 20mg, it's still considered quite low dose I think (I've read about people taking 40mg), but the other ladies on this thread will know more than me. Are you in the middle of a FET cycle too?

VenusStarr · 22/03/2023 08:16

Hey all, we're still abroad 😓 hoping dh is having surgery today. Everything is so slow and communication is poor. He's been in hospital over a week now. You'd think being effectively stranded in a hot country and being in posh hotels would be the dream, but its not. I hate it.

@InvisibleDreamer I think you're with Create aren't you? Although I found them open to immune / nk cells, they're very conservative about using steroids. They hated my protocol with Dr Shehata but did turn a blind eye. I think the dose may depend on your immune issues, I have very aggressive nk cells, so need high dose steroids from ovulation/ pre-transfer, plus all the other immune modulators. Even then, that wasn't enough in my last pregnancy.
I'd be inclined to do 20mg (my dose was 25mg).
I'm usually illness free, so think my immune system is just overactive in general. I only caught covid this year, when I'd been off all my immune meds for around 4 months.

Hope everyone is well ❤️

comingsoon786110 · 22/03/2023 11:37

@VenusStarr sorry your going through this on what was meant to be a relaxing holiday! Hope it all goes well ❤️

Does anyone know if taking GCSF injections delayed your BFP which is why Dr S advises on testing 11dpo?

InvisibleDreamer · 22/03/2023 14:42

@Faithhopelove83 Yes I’m having a transfer next week. Terrified it won’t work. Will find out just before 40th Birthday celebrations which I feel like almost guarantees a bfn as you can always count on ivf to kick you when you are down! Dreading turning 40 as it is without Milo especially and no human babies.
@VenusStarr How frustrating that it is taking so long. Is there anything you can do to relax when you’re not visiting? I am with Create and I’ve had an email today to basically say they can’t stop me following the other clinics advice but they can’t take responsibility for the dose of steroids. I think I’m going to alternate 15 & 20mg doses this week and go up to 20 on transfer or if I get a BFP. When I had a BFP before I was on 10 so I’m worried now that it’s too much for implantation but then last time I had a mmc after I came off steroids so I think the higher dose is definitely worth a try if we get a positive.

Faithhopelove83 · 22/03/2023 15:20

Oh bless you @InvisibleDreamer , I completely understand the fear/pressure re the transfer and turning 40 without a baby. I'm in a similar position. I'm 5dp5dt and I'm turning 40 in a few months. Really sorry about Milo, you're having to deal with so much. Just want to wish you all the very best with your transfer next week xx

SReyn · 23/03/2023 17:29

@VenusStarr have been thinking of you and hope your husband's doing ok x

VenusStarr · 23/03/2023 19:32

Thank you @SReyn ♥️ he's had the op finally but not looking close to discharge yet. He's definitely slowly getting better. Can't believe it, its very surreal. I was hoping we'd be home this weekend but it might roll into next week which is just nuts.
I hope you're well xx

Thank you @InvisibleDreamer I'm having acouple of hours reading by the pool in the mornings, then time at the hospital with him.
Wishing you well for your transfer, that sounds like a good approach.

@Faithhopelove83 thinking of you x

Hope everyone is doing well 💗

Faithhopelove83 · 23/03/2023 21:09

Thank you @VenusStarr 🙂
So glad to hear your DH has finally had his op! I hope he makes a full recovery and gets discharged soon x

Wonderful news @Tgrf55 💙 congratulations.

We're still abroad 😢 dh is loads better so just need the hospital to issue the fit to fly and final medical reports. Hopefully we'll be on our way home soon. Has really put me off abroad holidays!

Sophi81 · 26/03/2023 23:52

Hi all
Just thought I'd catch up and see how everyone is doing as it's been a while.

@comingsoon786110 so sorry to hear of your loss. I was put on GCSF and was quite sceptical because of cost and just generally not wanting to take injections but i did in the end. Whether or not it worked that I don't know if it was down to the injections or not!

@Hopefulnumber4 sending you lots of love 😢

@Sezmarelda1 Many congratulations on your new arrival 🥰🥰 xx

@MrsMargot sorry to hear of your loss 😢. I was on GCSF. Wasn't happy about it but used them anyway. There were no side effects for me. Maybe bloating but then that could have been caused by Cyclogest also.

@Tgrf55 aww many congratulations to you 🥰🥰xx

It's impossible to catch up on all the threads but really happy for all the new arrivals 😀. And also have my fingers crossed for everyone else xx

@VenusStarr hope all is well xx

Just wanted to mention about GCSF, I was paying £248 from Asda and £300 from Tesco. I remember on my last batch I ordered from Tesco and they only charged me £70!! I was like erm can you check if that's the correct item you have ordered. Pharmacist double checked and said yes it's correct. So obviously I compared it to the one I had at home and it was the same just a different brand!!! Just in case anyone is interested in that as i can see there's quite a few people mentioning it on the thread!

Other than that my update is I am now 24 weeks pregnant with my second CRP baby and everything is ok so far, fingers crossed 🤞🏼

comingsoon786110 · 27/03/2023 09:47

@Sophi81 thanks for the tip! Definitely will be going to Tesco if I ever need more!!

Do you mind me asking what protocols you got pregnant on the 1st and 2nd time? & a huge congrats of course xx

star2022 · 27/03/2023 12:42

@VenusStarr I am so sorry to read this! I really hope he has a speedy recovery and you're able to come back home asap. Gosh, you sure do go through so much 😢 thinking of you!

@Faithhopelove83 thank you and yes my 1st SO cycle was a fail. I didn't have high hopes anyway it working first time but you know when you spend so much money, you still can't help but have hope so it still hit me hard. Another annoying thing was that my trigger stayed in my system for 14 days! So when I tested 10dpo I had a faint line, and again the next.

This month Dr Edge wanted me to get my polyp removed before continuing on with SO, but i'm so confused because I went to my GP today to see if they can do anything on the nhs for me, and my GP told me my polyp is tiny (0.5cm) and that it shouldn't be a cause for concern being that small, especially as its only recently appeared too so it can't be the reason for my 4 years of infertility. So now i don't know what to do.. get it removed privately or just wait to see if nhs are willing to remove it, or just continue on with SO in the mean time if they let me until i can get it done via nhs...sighh its never straightforward is it!?

star2022 · 27/03/2023 12:50

@Zest11 Intralipids were actually fine! Took about 50mins I think and OH was able to sit in with me as we were the only ones left at the clinic so time flew! Are you starting your new cycle soon? Good luck if you are!

@Faithhopelove83 just read the posts back, and I see you're in your 2WW? How are you feeling? Will you test early? Wishing you all the best with it!

@Trgf55 Congratulations! This is lovely news!

comingsoon786110 · 28/03/2023 01:03

Hi everyone

Need some advice pls! I am 14dpo today and my period was due but obviously didn't come because I'm taking progesterone. My pregnancy tests are negative but I have been having brownish/pink discharge since Friday so I thought this might be implantation bleeding. Been testing since but not even the faintest of lines.

I guess what I am asking is shall I continue on all my meds until about a week after my IB or shall I stop taking everything and let me period come if I am in fact not pregnant.

Has anyone everyone experienced spotting whilst on progesterone? I never spot before my period and I have taking progesterone for my last three pregnancy and have never spotted from it so it makes me think it might in fact be IB and I need to give it more time for my BFP?

Thanks in advance!! Xx

Sophi81 · 28/03/2023 08:19

@comingsoon786110 no worries. I will check the name of the brand as I think I still have a couple left in my fridge 😳 and will let you know the name of it.

So we did SO and got pregnant first time and I had my beautiful baby boy. I was on the complex plan and taking Cyclogest, pred, aspirin, omeprazole, intralipids.

I thought it was going to be easy for when I try second time but no! We had 8 SO cycles and I was just not getting pregnant. CRP had started me on the same protocol as the 1st time but kept adding more meds. So in the end I was also on metformin, GCSF, Letrozole was also increased, I was also on another drug to thicken the lining can't remember what it was called as well as another drug to stimulate ovaries. I can't remember the name. I will check my notes and confirm. Personally I don't think I needed to be on any of those extra drugs as none of them worked and I ended up getting pregnant naturally whilst on a 1 month break from everything. I continued with the complex plan. I am now 24 weeks and meds have reduced to only metformin, Cyclogest and aspirin now x
