Anyone else here back in the TWW around this time? My TWW started 27th Aug and I'm in need of some company!

This is cycle #9 for us now so really hoping this is the one 🤞🏻

@Foreverhopeful92 I'm not even sure whether to test this cycle or not to be honest. Think I might just try to wait this one out for a couple more days until AF arrives.

@pixiecircle had my day 21 bloods last Friday. Not sure when to start spect the results though. Last time I had any sort of blood test it was 2 weeks for the results (but we're talking like 10 years ago!)

@TinyDancer91 do you have the NHS app? If not, download it and then ask your GP for access to your detailed coded records (or I just sent a message in the online portal).

Once that’s done, you’ll be able to see your test results online!! Its sooo much easier than waiting to call them. I had my day 21 results back within a couple days!

good luck let us know how they go xx

TinyDancer91 · 05/10/2022 22:55

@pixiecircle I do have the app, but not my full records (moved GPs just before Covid hit as my old one closed down!)

I've just emailed my GP Practice asking for access but I think I might try calling tomorrow to ask if the results are in yet. But it's good to know that you can see results online as OH has to go for blood tests tomorrow for something unrelated (back/joint issues, possible arthritis), so he can view his online.

Hope you get some answers from the referral soon!

@TinyDancer91 and @pixiecircle how are you both getting on? Have you done anymore tests?
I tested this morning and BFN :(
I have no idea on dpo as didn’t track but according to Flo I’m 10 dpo today so I guess still early but not feeling hopeful! Definitely find some months tougher than others. One month I can be quite positive about the next cycle and other months it hits me really hard! Hope you guys have better luck than me today! xx

pixiecircle · 07/10/2022 09:14

@TinyDancer91 did you get your results??

@Foreverhopeful92 Sorry lovely, it’s so disheartening even when you know it’s early 😞 xxx

Joining you with a BFN this morning at 11DPO. I’m losing hope… just don’t get it!! We dtd soo much, just don’t understand how we would have missed the egg… Only glimmer of hope I have is that my temps are still trending up so I’m trying hard not to waste a FRER, but we are away this weekend so not sure I’ll get another chance to test before monday (but that may be a good thing?) what would you guys do?!

Also, it turns out my GP messed up my referral… so my wait time has now restarted 😞 gutted as we’d already been waiting 5 weeks!!! @TinyDancer91 the clinic mentioned it should be 6-8 weeks from referral to first appointment.

Foreverhopeful92 · 07/10/2022 09:24

@pixiecircle Thank you! Trying to remind myself it’s still potentially too early to show up. I also know it’s still early days and I just need to be patient and see what happens in the next 6 months before I go to the GP.

i think I’d wait til Monday. Enjoy your time away and then test when you get back. But that’s just personal preference as I know if I took tests with me I’d just be too fixated and worrying about it and wouldn’t enjoy being away. Xx

Foreverhopeful92 · 07/10/2022 09:34

@pixiecircle Also forgot to say, I don’t temp so I don’t know much about it but it sounds positive if your temp stays up! I know that’s a good sign so fingers crossed for you.
we also DTD more this cycle - every other day this cycle up to about day 20 as a different approach and cause I wasn’t using OPKs and I agree that the more you DTD the more you think surely it’ll happen this month! Feel bad for my DH as just feel like it’s all I talk about at the moment but didn’t realise how emotionally draining the whole TTC process is!
I really hope this month is good news for you! Fingers crossed! And hope you have a fab time away this weekend xx

TinyDancer91 · 08/10/2022 01:34

My results came back as 'normal'. However, OH is now saying he wants to wait until after Xmas before talking to a dr. I don't know if it's a man thing or if it's that he's scared there is something wrong with him, but I really don't want to keep waiting. He's mostly a very horizontal person so also not sure if that's why and he's just a little too laid back about the whole thing.

I'm tired of waiting.

Am I being selfish? Should we wait until next year? I know that it's only really another 3, maybe 4 cycles, but also... it's another 3 maybe 4 cycles!!

I don't want this to cause arguments between us, so should I just drop it and hold on until January? Feeling very confused and emotional right now...

@TinyDancer91 so pleased you managed to finally get your results! But sorry to hear you’re feeling how you are. :( I hope the results give you some hope that it will happen soon for you!

The OH thing is hard, I like you would also want to go to the GP as soon as possible with OH - also you’ve done what you can do and it’s his turn now. But I appreciate he may be anxious about the results. I think it’s probably partly a guy thing but also I think if it was my OH he may also be worried that it’s him and it would hurt his pride a little bit so would be anxious to test. It may be that he’s also relaxed. If you don’t mind me asking, how old are you both? I think my OH may also be quite chilled and think we have time for it to happen and in no rush! Not that I agree - but he’s very chilled so I could imagine him saying ah it’ll happen let’s wait.

I equally understand you don’t want to push it, or have it affect your relationship as this TTC journey really is tough and you both want to be supportive to eachother.

Not sure what the waiting times are where you are but could you suggest you see when the doc is free? Realistically that could be some time away for an appointment and then by the time you get the results that’s potentially another few weeks or more, plus with Christmas coming up too, it may be longer? That way you can continue trying now while you wait for the appointment and results and hopefully by January you will have them?

Do you think that would work as a compromise?

Foreverhopeful92 · 09/10/2022 08:13

@TinyDancer91 @pixiecircle
So cramps started last night and looks like AF is going to arrive today! Earlier than Flo predicted but I didn’t track ovulation so knew it may be a bit out.
Onto the best cycle we go! :(
Hope you both have better news! 💜 xx

pixiecircle · 10/10/2022 13:12

@TinyDancer91 good news about your results!! That’s so tough with your OH, I would also be feeling the same… I don’t think you’re being selfish at all, after all there’s enough waiting in this process that’s out of control.

My OH is soo chilled too, and if it hadn’t been 18 months already he probably wouldn’t have made the appointment.

When we were ready to start investigations (i.e. had spoken to the GP) there was another 6-8 weeks to do the semen analysis. So that’s something to bear in mind… And if any parameter is low, they’ll want to do a repeat SA in 3 months time. So again, more waiting!!

I would probably try and bring it up again gently, with the wait times in mind. But obviously don’t push it too hard if you know it’ll cause him to shut down… Maybe you could also let him know that delays with his testing could mean further delays for your testing, since you can’t get a fertility clinic referral until the SA is done.

This whole process is so draining and I really hope you’re feeling better!!

@Foreverhopeful92 I did end up holding out until I got home last night, BFN 😞 and my temps plummeted this morning and AF just showed up. Sorry to hear AF is here for you too, here’s to the next cycle!!

Will you be trying anything new this cycle?

We are going to try fertility lube, and also just made an enquiry to start acupuncture. OH has his repeat SA during predicted fertile window so feeling a bit miffed about that atm, but hopefully it will work out with timings.

Foreverhopeful92 · 10/10/2022 13:26

@pixiecircle sorry to hear about AF arriving! :(

In terms of trying anything new I’m honestly not sure. I go from wanting to do nothing and be ‘more relaxed’ to wanting to throw everything at it. We didn’t track with OPKs last month and DTD every other day but clearly that didn’t work and it was effort haha so plan is to track with OPKs this month so we have a more targeted effort I think!

We use fertility lube and it is nicer to use I find during the fertile week when you’re DTD lots.

oh no! Hope the timings work out! You never know though as my predicted ovulation date this last month was completely out as I ended up having a shorter cycle!

Here’s hoping this is our month! X

Foreverhopeful92 · 17/04/2023 19:42

@TinyDancer91 @JaneGnR88 @pixiecircle

Ladies I thought I’d check in to see how you’re doing! I hope you’ve had your BFPs!! I’ve been off MN for a while as needed to take a break.

im unfortunately still on the TTC journey. We’re now at a year currently going in month 13. We decided to pay for some tests in Jan/Feb and now waiting to see if things change in the next couple of months before starting the journey with the GP.

I had an internal scan and apparently have PCO but not PCOS (I didn’t even know there was a difference!). No other concerns apparently but I didn’t have the 21 day test so I’m concerned re ovulation. Doctor said if getting an OPk peak then she’s happy but I think I may ask for bloods to confirm I’m actually ovulating!
DH has low count so doing a repeat in a couple of months after taking some recommended vitamins. I also have to make a decision about maybe having a hycosy! Sounds awful but I’ve heard positive stories so we’ll see.

I can’t believe I’m still on this journey! I know some people take a lot longer than a year but last month at a year hit my hard! I think that along with the due date no longer being 2023 was all a bit much. Trying to stay positive and focus on next steps but this is one hell of an emotional and mental rollercoaster.

Anyways sorry for the essay - I hope you’re all well - just wanted to check in with you.

TinyDancer91 · 17/04/2023 22:52

Hi @Foreverhopeful92! Sorry to hear you're still TTC. We are still on the journey too. Currently officially on cycle 17, but unofficially cycle 21...

I've had day 21 bloods done twice as there was a 'lab error' with the first set. Both came back as normal. OH has also had 2 SAs and we've just found out he has low count and low motility. We received our referral almost 2 weeks ago and the first available date for the initial app at the fertility clinic is 16th Aug, so it's currently a waiting game for us.

I've really struggled the past few months to point where I feel like I've kind of become numb to it all, then I have days where I just want to crawl into bed and hide from the world. We haven't told any family and I've only told a couple of my really trusted friends about TTC, so have to put on a happy face a lot.

Hope you get a BFP soon! 💕

@TinyDancer91 sorry to hear you’re still on the TTC journey too ! :( it really is so difficult and completely understand how you feel on this emotional journey! I hope that you get your BFP soon. 💕

I agree it’s so hard to know who to share with and how much. My mum knows and a couple of close friends so it is nice to have their support and encouragement but unfortunately none of them have been in the same position so whilst it’s great to have their support, I know they find it hard to know what to say.

Great news about your results! I may push for some 21 day bloods next.
Did your doctor recommend anything for your DH’s results? DH was recommended some vitamin type thing so hoping that it helps but I guess we’ll see at the repeat test!

Thinking good thoughts for us both this month! 💕

pixiecircle · 21/04/2023 15:11

Hey @Foreverhopeful92 @TinyDancer91!! Sorry you're both still on the TTC train, I'm right here with you... have had absolutely zilch, and I've also become pretty numb to it all.

We finally had our last tests a couple weeks ago, so that should be our IVF referral in now. But we're probably a year off from having our first appointment so I'm just trying to switch off from TTC and enjoy what I can. To be completely honest, I've fallen off the wagon a bit... but it's been SO refreshing to not be in the all-consuming world of TTC after soo long.

My partner also had low motility (but count was fine), we did about 6 months on a range of vits and they've boosted his motility to well within normal ranges now! Can't be 100% sure it was the vits, and we're still not pregnant, but it's worth trying out?

@Foreverhopeful92 never knew about PCO either!! Do you have any symptoms of PCOS? And they found it during the internal scan??

I feel you, I remember taking months 12-13 real hard!! Be gentle with yourself, it's good you've gotten a head start on your tests. I'd push for day 21s if you can. I do regret not getting started on testing earlier.

💖💖💖

Foreverhopeful92 · 21/04/2023 23:24

@pixiecircle lovely to hear from you but sorry to hear you’re still on your journey too :(
Completely understand you wanting to take a break from it and enjoy the time before your referral ! I hope you have some nice things planned! :)

So apparently the scan showed I have polycystic ovaries but my blood test results didn’t appear to indicate I have polycystic ovary syndrome as the results were all in the ranges. I don’t fully understand to be honest as it was a lot of information to take in at the time. I felt like I had all my questions later on when I’d digested it all. At the time when she asked if I had questions I just didn’t think to ask more.
I think (through googling!) it is okay to have it and shouldn’t affect ovulation but to be honest everything mentions pcos not pco but I’m not sure if it affects anything like the quality of the eggs I have?! Who knows! 🙈

Symptom wise I have regular periods but they are painful. I assume I’m ovulating as I get an OPk peak but think I want to get the 21 day tests to be sure. That’s the next step I think. Gp appointment for the tests and then I guess referral to fertility and maybe a hycosy.

Great news about your partners results! I’m hoping DH’s repeat will see better results too!
I always have to remind myself that the chance each month is small even if everything is right in terms of timing and results etc so you never know the vitamins may have an effect for you and your partner in a few more months!

I hope you get your BFP soon and in the meantime hope you enjoy the time you’re taking to have the break you need! It really is all consuming especially when each month feels like such a rollercoaster!

I hope we’ll all have some BFP news or at least some progress/updates with referrals soon! As that hopefully means one step closer 💕 xx
