Hello all,

I am 33 and have a 5yo who we conceived naturally after 9m of trying. Have been trying for baby #2 for almost 3years now. After trying a year I was diagnosed with pcos. Since then I have been given clomid (6 unsuccessful rounds) and now on my first cycle of letrazole.

I am feeling really alone in all of this and losing hope. I have a supportive family and husband and friends but would love to chat to others in a similar position for support and understanding. So please comment if you would like this support too 💕

LOL just realized you cannot see a thing in that picture but it's 100% positive

Mousey6 · 16/08/2022 18:39

@Roro1423 thank you! I’ve been having symptoms but don’t know if it’s all psychological, only time will tell!

@MrsMamaD I’ve known I have PCOS for well over 10 years, went for an ultrasound for suspected endo and picked it up. I don’t have all the typical symptoms except weight issues. And congratulations, I see it!xx

Roro1423 · 16/08/2022 19:41

OMG! 😱thats definitely a positive, congratulations 🎉 m so haappy for you. Its long overdue💕m praying for everything to be perfect 🙏. Now you have to keep me updated, its so exciting 🤗

M 5dpo have a dull ache under my bellybutton and a lower back pain, probably doesn't mean anything but its annoying 🙄. M planing to start testing Friday.

Roro1423 · 16/08/2022 19:51

@Mousey6 its definitely hard, m trying not to read too much into mine as well because my body has disappointed me so many times. Only time will tell. 🤞

MrsMamaD · 16/08/2022 20:13

Thank you ladies 😊im still in a bit of shock tbh

So you've both got about a week left before you can think about testing - I've got my fingers crossed for both of you! I had cramps a few days ago and the past 3 days it felt like a UTI was coming but feeling nauseous last night and this afternoon were what prompted me to test. I definitely get where you are coming from with the symptom spotting, and you feel like you're imagining them or unnecessarily relating them to the slightest possibility. It's tough, especially when you don't want to get your hopes up.

@Mousey6 do you feel like metformin has helped you? The biggest thing from my pcos is the insulin resistance but I just could not get on with metformin, that's when I started the inositol. Inositol is so subtle it almost feels like a placebo.

Mousey6 · 16/08/2022 20:22

I was on metformin for my last pregnancy and fell pregnant first cycle. I do get terrible side effects from it, even taking a prolonged release version! I’ve never heard of inositol before. I ended up on insulin last time later on in my pregnancy, although I had a hypo when on it and often used to get low blood sugar levels!

MrsMamaD · 16/08/2022 21:51

@Mousey6 oh no that sounds scary! My husband is T1 diabetic and I've become really aware of how he gets when he's low and over the years we've been married I've been able to catch him before he has a real low hypo, but I don't think I'd be able to catch it in myself so easily!

Inositol is naturally in our bodies and it aids the body's insulin sensitivity, so it helps to make insulin effective instead of letting the body become resistant. It also effects things like dopamine in the same way, which allows for better hormone regulation. It's basically the same as Metformin just not man made and with a heck of a lot less side effects! I'd definitely recommend looking into it or trying it x

Sparkledust1990 · 17/08/2022 09:26

Welcome @Mousey6 and @MrsMamaD 👋 thanks for sharing your stories 💕 I definitely don't feel alone now and it is so nice to hear from others who understand how it feels.

@Mousey6 if you are regularly ovulating then I'm sure it'll happen soon 🙌. Do you have many pcos symptoms? Just wondering if you still get them if you ovulate regularly or if it is managed then less symptoms?

@MrsMamaD wow! I definitely see a pink line 🎉! Show us an update! Congratulations! How amazing and very well deserved after what you've been through 💕. I was diagnosed around 8months ago when I went to the doctor after trying for a year and a half and noticing missing periods for up to 3 months. Letrazole/clomid has made me regular the last 3 months so I've asked for a blood check to see if I am ovulating. Yes-I love the aussie guy in tiktok! He's so passionate and advocates for us 🤗

@Roro1423 yep, my husband is pretty similar 😂 enjoys the extra... dancing! We are here for the symptom sharing- I feel crazy telling my hubby so you guys will get it all 😂. Friday isn't too far off now- nearly there. Which type of test will you be using? I only have the cheapies but I know others insist on certain brands.

OP posts:
Mousey6 · 17/08/2022 09:46

@Sparkledust1990 yes I have always been “regular” so I’m really hoping it won’t be much longer. I think it’s just so frustrating as it was so easy last time. I have the weight gain and slightly high blood sugars, but apart from that no other symptoms!

Regarding tests, internet cheapies and frer (pink dye tests) are the best ones that most people use and recommend. Xx

Roro1423 · 17/08/2022 11:00

@Sparkledust1990 definitely 🤣. i have a lot of Internet cheapies that are calling my name already🤭 m planing to get a CB digital once i get a positive, i dont wanna waste anymore money on test just to see BFN. M assuming you took your last 💊today? 🤔. Cant wait for you to join us in the tww already🙌

Roro1423 · 17/08/2022 11:04

@Mousey6 how you feeling today? Been cramping on and off today but m only 6dpo so not reading too much into it.

@MrsMamaD i cant wait to see the line progression on that test, POS already!! 😁

MrsMamaD · 17/08/2022 16:58

I had internet cheapies that were sitting in my drawer for ages, took one yesterday and it came up bfn but I just knew that wasn't right...turns out they expired in January 🤣

Today's test was a digi, so line progression yet! Can't get much clearer than that though 😁

Oh you definitely don't want to symptom spot with your husband, 99% of the time they think you're crazy and clutching at straws 🙄 that's what we are here for! Make you feel not crazy and eager to hear whatever you're going through! xx

Pcos and secondary infertility
Roro1423 · 17/08/2022 17:15

🤣🤣 Imagine if you didnt have the digi, you were gonna be driving yourself crazy thinking you imagined the first positive. Definitely cant get clearer than that. So excited on your behalf ✨

MrsMamaD · 17/08/2022 19:16

I actually went out and got the digi because all I had in the house was cheapie. All my local tesco had was digis and clear blues and I wasn't going to chance a clear blue when my red dye was so faint!

To add to the test convo - there is a brand called Answer and they're literally First Response in different packaging. They're only £4.99 for 2 at my local pharmacy because unless I order them online, I cannot seem to get first response in any shop any more. When did that happen?!

Mousey6 · 18/08/2022 10:32

@Roro1423 I’m still crampy and feeling a little sick. I’ve had an upset tummy but I don’t know if that’s more down to a bug! How are you feeling today?

Sparkledust1990 · 18/08/2022 11:01

Wow @MrsMamaD that is the clearest you can get 🙌 huge congratulations 🎉 you must be so excited 🤗

@Mousey6 yes once a baby is wanted that is all we can think about and with pcos we never know how it's effecting us. How many days past ovulation are you? Sorry if you've said already!

@Roro1423 tomorrow is test day for you! Eek how are you feeling about it? Yes finished my tablets so just checking for ovulation for the next week. Why is it such a long process!? 😂.

OP posts:
MrsMamaD · 18/08/2022 13:17

Ah ladies I'm just as excited in anticipation for you lot! If you don't get crampy this early on then that's usually a good sign!!

I have been getting horrific cramps mid cycle for about a week and a half, for the past 8 months or so and this month they only lasted a couple of days haha so it was the opposite for me 😂
@Mousey6 lets hope the icky feeling is a good sign and not a bug.

@Sparkledust1990 thank you ❤️ I'm excited but trying really hard not to get ahead of myself - tell me you've experienced multiple mcs without telling me eh!? 🙄 They take all the joy out of things that should be fun.

@Roro1423 do you think you are going to test right away or are you going to be strong and give it a day or two?

Loving our little support bubble ladies, seriously those without pcos just really don't understand do they xx

Roro1423 · 18/08/2022 13:51

Ladies i dont feel hopeful anymore this cycle. Woke up today with symptoms of yeast infection or possibly UTI😢, not sure whats happening because my partner is out of town due to work and we haven't BD in a week (sorry tmi). M only 7dpo today. Still going to test tomorrow morning just to feed my POAS addiction but i doubt m still in this cycle.

@Sparkledust1990 good luck testing, we need that peak, try testing twice a day from CD10 so that you dont miss it. I got a static smiley on a CB with FMU CD12 but the cheapie was still light. Then peak on a cheapie showed up later around 4 in the afternoon. 🤞

@Mousey6 hope that upset tummy comes with a positive soon🙏

@MrsMamaD i planned to start testing tomorrow because i will be 8dpo still early though but m just disappointed and thinking maybe i should just wait till missed AF 🙄.

Sparkledust1990 · 18/08/2022 15:42

@MrsMamaD oh I'm sorry to hear about your mmc 💐. I'm crossing my fingers for a sticky bean for you 🤞. You deserve some excitement after all you've been through. Yes totally agree, I'm so glad I reached out and found all of you 🤗. I've been feeling much more hopeful and it has encouraged me to keep pushing on.

@Roro1423 Sorry to hear you are feeling rough 😣. That doesn't mean you are out though. Yes I have that battle with myself every month too. Neither seem to help 🤷‍♀️! Either way we are here for you- do what feels right 💕.

Is anyone interested in joining a Wattsapp group? Just thinking it would be easier to see replies and get to know each other even more. No pressure, I know some people might prefer to keep things anonamous too ☺️.

MrsMamaD · 18/08/2022 19:35

@Roro1423 no, don't think that! I literally felt like I had a UTI coming because I just had real urgency, felt like I needed to go as soon as I'd gone, y'know? I put it down to the heatwave and possibly just getting a bit too sweaty but no it's definitely one of my symptoms because no pain ever came and I still feel just as urgent lol - I need to pee ALLLLLLL THE TIMMEEE!! 🤣

I'm happy to join a WhatsApp group if you ever made one 😊

Roro1423 · 19/08/2022 11:48

Well 8dpo today and BFN as expected, i will try again 10dpo.
@MrsMamaD you just described my situation, m keeping an eye on the symptoms to see if they progress but nothing so far hopefully i end up like you with a positive😊. How are you doing today, has the symptoms kicked in yet?

@Sparkledust1990 Thank you🤗, hope you doing well today. m also happy with joining the WhatsApp group.

Sparkledust1990 · 20/08/2022 09:27

Morning ladies 👋

@MrsMamaD are you doing line progression or leaving it? How are you feeling?

@Roro1423 8dpo is very early anyway- some implant later too so you're still not out. How are you feeling?

Perfect- I'll private message my number ☺️

OP posts:
Mousey6 · 20/08/2022 10:49

Hope everyone is ok! I’m still feeling bloated and crampy and just feeling a bit rubbish! 8dpo so a bit early still for testing.

I’d like to join the WhatsApp group too please 😊

MrsMamaD · 20/08/2022 13:30

Afternoon ladies 👋🏼

Isn't it so annoying how af and pregnancy symptoms are pretty much exactly the flipping same?!

I did a couple of tests to try and see progression lines but I've only got IC left, they've been there but not really strong so I'm am stepping away from the tests before I drive myself insane lol!
I am feeling pretty nauseous and really tired so, as long as they stick around I can feel a bit safe.

Didn't feel nauseous at all with my first so this is a new one for me!

How is everyone feeling today? I'm so glad it's cooled down a bit but it sure as hell is muggy, I keep getting fooled into thinking I can wear more clothing 🤣

Sparkledust1990 · 21/08/2022 09:05

Hello 🤗

@Mousey6 of course- will message you. Getting there! The 2ww is the hardest. Do you think you will test or wait?

@MrsMamaD yep, evil symptoms! I try everytime to ignore the symptoms and everytime I think it could be and it never is! If the line progression is stressful definitely leave it. Nausea is a really good sign of high levels of hormones for pregnancy 🤞.

How are you @Roro1423 have you stayed off the tests or doing more?

I'm currently testing for ovulation (cd10) but concerned I've not had any physical signs yet. I don't normally get peak until the 15th/16th but I usually have some signs by now 😬.
