How Many Miscarriages Have You Had?

Helen1233 · 26/06/2022 20:33

Firstly, so sorry you've been through something so painful.

I've had 2.
After the first I had a feeling there wouldn't just be 1 as researching it this is so common and there rarely seems to be 1.

I long to have a full term pregnancy with a healthy baby as I'm sure many others do.

OP posts:

I had two before my Son came along one at 5 weeks and 1 was a missed miscarriage that I found out about at 9 weeks. Then my son arrived and he's just turned 1 we've been trying again since January and I had another early loss in May

Sorry for your losses trying for a baby is so much harder and emotional than I ever realised but it's worth it in the end

Anothernamechangeplease · 27/06/2022 00:17

One before my dd was born. I'm sorry that this has happened to you. Flowers

Themidnightcat · 27/06/2022 00:21

I've only had one but actually it was chemical pregnancy so not sure if it counts

BlairAtholl · 27/06/2022 00:23

4 and have remained childless and am too old now.

Vernonia · 27/06/2022 00:25

2 before dc1 and then another 2 before dc2. Felt soul-destroying at the time and definitely meant I didn’t enjoy my pregnancies.
good luck OP - I hope things work out for you and others on the thread

MarmiteCoriander · 27/06/2022 00:26

1st pregnancy was TFMR due to patau, followed by 2 MC's.
Also2 rounds of IVF.
12yrs TTC, no medical issues found, and no living children. Early 40's now so extremely unlikely to ever happen. I have a lovely life though. Its just different to what I assumed for many years it would be.

5 I really do want a Baby but Pregnancy terrifies me. It's not the actual Pregnancy itself. It's the thought of having to wait 12 weeks for a scan to be told bad news or having early scans and everything be ok only to find out the heart stopped at the 12 week one. Spending every moment of every day wondering if todays the day you'll start to bleed.

apapuchi · 27/06/2022 00:31

Two before my first son who is now 8, and two between him and baby who is 9 months. It's so painful and hard but those losses don't mean you won't get your baby to keep with you eventually. Sending love, look after yourself.

I've had one early one (6 weeks) and 2 chemicals. No children as of yet, but this is exactly how I feel. It's like I'm really ok with getting my period some months cause I know if I get a positive test Again, this is all I will feel, the dread, the fear, the waiting for somthing to go wrong all the way through until, by sims miracle my baby arrives safe and healthy and well on or past their due date

Narcheska · 27/06/2022 00:46

ive been pregnant 6 times and 3 were miscarriages

1st pregnancy miscarriage at 12.5 weeks
2nd pregnancy a boy (now 10)
3rd pregnancy miscarriage at 11 weeks
4th pregnancy miscarriage at 7 weeks
5th pregnancy a boy (now 4)
6th pregnancy a girl (now 3)

DifficultBloodyWoman · 27/06/2022 01:00

4 miscarriages + 1 suspected chemical + 2 failed IVF attempts.

We gave up. I tried to come to terms with not having children. We made other plans.

And then our little miracle surprise showed up!

Cheetocat · 27/06/2022 01:01

Just the one, I found out I was pregnant for the first time by suprise at 6w in March, had a little bleed at 7w and everything was fine on the ultrasound, bled again at 11w2d and the heart had stopped. This is my first month TTC now.

letsplanaholiday · 27/06/2022 01:01

6 MC. Have accepted being childless.

Lovethatforyou · 27/06/2022 01:03

3 miscarriages then my boy, followed by another 3. Happy with my boy, he’s my little miracle 💙

Good luck OP.

MonicaGellerHyphenBing · 27/06/2022 01:18

I had one between my two children, at 11 weeks. Two scans showed the baby was growing and everything looked good but for some reason it just didn’t stick. I was devastated but got pregnant again 3 months later and had a healthy baby boy.

I sadly had 10

4 mc then one child
3 mc
Another child
3 more mc
One more child

All mc at 12-14 weeks
Two were analysed. One was Downs and one was a triploidy

No intervention....I just ploughed on until I got what I wanted

I saw Lesley Regan at the Lindo Wing and Kypros Nicolaides
Both were so lovely....but there was nothing wrong with me.
Lesley Regan likened it to throwing a 1 every time I threw a dice. I was just plain unlucky

caringcarer · 27/06/2022 02:47
  1. 2 were early at about 8 weeks. I was 13 weeks and the last one was 16 weeks and very painful. I have 3 healthy children too.
DKDK123 · 27/06/2022 03:07

Sadly you're correct it is very common, it's one of these things that isn't widely talked about but once it happens to you if you do open up to friends and family about it you'll find just about everyone you speak to has either personal experience of it or knows someone else close who has its sadly that common 😢

For me TTC #1 took just over a year. TTC #2 took over 3 years and 8 early losses, just as we'd given up hope and resigned ourself to not having another child I fell pregnant again for the 9th time. We expected to lose that too but instead she's now 7 weeks old and I've just put her to sleep after her night feed. I hope my story gives a little hope to those who feel like giving up. 💕

I felt like this too. When carrying my DD I had a huge bleed, clots and really thought I was losing her at 12 weeks. She was fine is 13 now.
DS was text book thank his as I was 39 and terrified. You'll still feel the fear through pregnancies but hoping you'll get there soon

MayMi · 27/06/2022 05:16

None myself thankfully, however I once met someone who had 6 miscarriages and 1 live birth.

VenusStarr · 27/06/2022 05:19

I've had 6, no living children. We've tested 2 of the babies and both were healthy (and 4 of my miscarriages were carbon copies of each other, MMCs). I'm under a specialist who feels my issues are immune related and that we'relosing healthy babies, but I've lost 2 on extensive treatment. We need ivf now as we can no longer conceive naturally.

Ravenclawdropout · 27/06/2022 05:25

I had 4 pregnancies, 3 live births and the 4th was a miscarriage. It was devastating.

My sister in-law had a son and then a series of miscarriages until she was finally seen on the NHS and had her dd 10 years later.

All my close friends have had miscarriages. One lost twins at about 5 months.

couldishouldigoforit · 27/06/2022 05:41

7 miscarriages up to 12 weeks. 2 ruptured ectopics and lost both tubes

Pollywoddles · 27/06/2022 06:02

1 early MC at 6.5 weeks
2 MMCs at 8 and 11 weeks
4 Chemicals

Tried IVF but had two cancelled cycles and 1 PGS abnormal embryo from another cycle so gave up.

1 successful pregnancy after all of that. It took 4 years.

PutOnAHappyFace · 27/06/2022 06:03

I've had 4. 3 live births then 4 miscarriages then a live birth.

So sorry for your losses, it's truly one of the most awful things to experience.

I had investigations and they never found any problems, it was just a bad luck thing. I had multiple scans with DC4 and did use progesterone but the doctor said it was just to see if it would help so who knows of it did.
