@SarahShorty it very well could be however I tend to get a dip and still no BFP so I learned not to look too much into BBT patterns as I started driving myself mad to the point I stopped taking my BBT!

@Bananatoast123 @LauraA31 sorry to hear AF may be arriving for you both. Take care of yourselves this weekend and treat yourself to something nice that you enjoy

@Springblooms08 yep even a few cycles can feel like forever when you want it so bad and particularly as you've been off contraception for a while and getting to know your body. Will keep everything crossed for you. I think at cycle 3/4 is when I was most optimistic and enjoying TTC and cycle 5/6 I started getting more concerned now on cycle 8 and I'm just trying to relax and make a plan of things to try if it's not happened by cycle 10 then cycle 12. I feel it gives me some control but allows me to relax in the cycles I'm in at the moment. Who knew it could be so hard and I'm like you with the spotting etc I get so worried and self diagnose myself with oh something could be wrong 🤦🏻‍♀️🙈

Springblooms08 · 22/07/2022 11:15

@lj2022 thank you, that’s really lovely and encouraging. It’s so easy to symptom spot and self diagnose - I’ll then go down an internet rabbit hole and massively stress myself out!

The whole journey is really hard mentally and physically - our minds and bodies go through a lot.

Will be keeping everything crossed for you as well this cycle. It will happen, it’s a matter of when rather than if.

SarahShorty · 22/07/2022 11:22

@lj2022 that's fair enough. I was the same and didn't BBT in my last two cycles.

I did some Googling and it's called a 'luteal dip', and it occurs when there is a slight increase in estrogen, the same dip also occurs once an egg has been released which is right at the end of the follicular phase. So there is a 'double dip' in BBT in every cycle. I decided to do BBT'ing because I wanted to check that I'd ovulated, so it's more of a look-back rather than a look ahead for what's to come.

lj2022 · 22/07/2022 11:38

@SarahShorty BBT really is amazing and praying that it could be linked to implantation for you! It's great to confirm ovulation isn't it and it really did help me for a while identify my short luteal phase etc to fix that. I just more had to stop when it was the same every month and I analysed every tiny thing especially as my BBT didn't drop until after AF I'd convince myself I could be one of these people that have a period pregnant etc 🤦🏻‍♀️ how many DPO are you ?

LucyLoopyLu · 22/07/2022 11:45

@Springblooms08 🤍💜🤍💜 totally feel your pain, it's a struggle. The dermatologist said mine was hormonal as well which is what I thought myself. Fingers crossed that could be one bonus of pregnancy; even if it's just a temporary break it would be nice to have better skin for a while

LucyLoopyLu · 22/07/2022 11:50

Having a bit of a sad day today. Another pregnancy announcement from someone who is v close to me. That's two in two weeks. I am so happy for the people involved but it makes me feel pretty shit.
I know you don't see other people's struggles but it definitely feels like everyone either has their baby(ies) or is pregnant 💔
First day of my fertile window today and I almost don't want to try as it feels like there's so much pressure now.

SarahShorty · 22/07/2022 12:01

@lj2022 Oh that's annoying! I'm 9DPO, CD27 xx

lj2022 · 22/07/2022 12:04

@LucyLoopyLu I'm so sorry you're having a sad day it's so hard seeing pregnancy announcements. I feel you it's so hard I think since I started trying there has been 17 announcements on my Facebook it's heartbreaking. It will be you one day but I know that doesn't make it feel better. We've had 2 friends give birth also and my sister in law is having twins and we came off the pill the same week. So thankful for this thread at times like these. Sending a hug 🤗

Bananatoast123 · 22/07/2022 12:33

@LauraA31 ahhh it’s rubbish isn’t it! I’m fully expecting my AF to start Sunday / Monday too! We will get there!

@LucyLoopyLu @EdinburghGirl1 thank you so much for these!! I am going to have a read up on what I can do to try combat it long term and on the suggestion into the stress cycle etc! I did start running recently but I have an old injury from sport and it’s flared up! I did just buy a skipping rope so I’m going to try allocate myself 20-30 minutes a day to that - I know you aren’t suppose to start new stuff but I think long term it’ll help!

I do have a dog and he’s such a good stress reliever with walks and fuss but I think I’ve been like so used to having him around it doesn’t work anymore! Might have a look into yoga etc too!

Bananatoast123 · 22/07/2022 12:40

@lj2022 thank you so much ❤️ It’s the support of this thread that gets me through each month!

@LucyLoopyLu Really sorry to hear it’s a hard day! I can completely understand. A friend who I’ve stopped talking to because she had no sensitivity around TTC announced she was expecting when she wasn’t even trying. It properly triggered me yesterday! So I feel you ❤️ It’s heartbreaking

But I like to believe what will come to us will be even more special and so loved! And it’ll be when we are least expecting it and so ready for it! Go get your fertile window and enjoy the process! You might be successful - you never know and it’ll be you announcing next!

MoorlandFlower · 22/07/2022 13:24

@Bananatoast123 really sorry that you feel AF is on her way. I was also stressed about stress (!) impacting our chances and a friend who had been suffering with insomnia recommended Ashwagandha capsules. It’s an Indian medicinal herb that lowers cortisol. It worked wonders for her sleep and it’s also linked to improving fertility outcomes so I’ve been taking it alongside prenatal vits. Can’t say I feel any different but perhaps like Acupunture it’s helpful to feel like you’re doing something proactive and hopefully doing something beneficial under the surface. Know herbal stuff isn’t for everyone but thought I’d share in case!

Dreamingof3 · 22/07/2022 13:33

Sorry for being a bit quiet ladies! We move next week so trying to gradually get everything done without over doing it and feeling super tired too! Will be glad when it's all done and we can get settled in!

Bananatoast123 · 22/07/2022 13:45

@MoorlandFlower ohhh let me look into that! Even for my sleep that would help as I’m waking up in the night which is also linked to cortisol! Thank you!

PinkButtercups · 22/07/2022 19:47

GD again! I was phoned this morning and my fasting result was literally on the cut off and so was my result after the glucose drink. She said they have to act as the number range has changed for testing now.

I'll ask to be put on metformin I think straight away. I tried strict diet with DS when I had GD and it just didn't work.

keeponsmiling2019 · 22/07/2022 20:13

@AliceS88 oh no she got us both! On we try for a Spring-time baby x

HeathenPlayingHouse · 22/07/2022 21:02

@LucyLoopyLu I'm sorry you're having a sad day ❤️ I found it hard last time, it felt like I was a good luck charm for others because wherever I went online or IRL, pregnancies seem to spawn (pun intended 😂)

@PinkButtercups Sorry to hear about the GD, but it sounds like you know the best way for your needs, which is great ❤️

I'm currently on CD9 and practically rattling with all the pills I'm taking! My OPK was darker than I expected for this early, so I'll keep testing daily. We're aiming to follow SMEP, like last time with the same supplements and Preseed.

OH wants to sway for pink, which would be great except for the "research" he read that discourages me having any fun 😂 I'd be thrilled either way.

PinkButtercups · 22/07/2022 21:14

@HeathenPlayingHouse Yes exactly that. It just didn't work with diet last time and I have 2 placentas this time so just don't want to take that extra risk if it can be avoided!

LucyLoopyLu · 22/07/2022 21:47

@PinkButtercups oh no that's a shame. At least they will be able to monitor you and get you on the right treatment straight away now! Hope you're not too worried or disappointed

@Heathenplayinghouse that's funny maybe I am a good luck charm 😁 hope you're doing well as well, sending you lots of baby dust you totally deserve it.

Thanks for all the sympathy everyone, I feel much better than I did this morning. I've given myself a talking to. Meeting another friend's new baby tomorrow so I had to give my head a wobble 🤦🏼‍♀️ me and my husband have been joking about everyone else being pregnant so that made me feel a bit better

PinkButtercups · 22/07/2022 22:38

@LucyLoopyLu thank you.
I'm not too worried I had GD before I just hope it can be as well managed as last time especially with two placentas. If they tell me I have to go on insulin I might have a little cry of the thought of injecting myself but whatever keeps myself and these babies healthy I will do x

LucyLoopyLu · 23/07/2022 19:12

@PinkButtercups oh god yeah injecting yourself would be hard to do / get used too, I have a horrible needle phobia so I would really struggle with that. Hopefully you will be able to manage it without insulin 🧡 sending you lots of good thoughts

I'm starting to worry today that I've missed my peak. I forgot to do an OPK yesterday and today had EWCM with a tiny bit of dark blood in it and also felt some pains (although I had those yday as well). I did an OPK this afternoon but it is low which would be normal compared to last two cycles on CD11. So I've either ovulated freakishly early or I've got the same ov symptoms as I did last month (after my peak OPK) but early.
We haven't DTD yet this cycle - yday was meant to be first fertile day but my OH hasn't been feeling well and we have had a v busy week.
Hope I'm not out this time. I'm going to keep doing the OPKs to see if I do get my peak next few days (should be ov Wednesday) and hopefully DTD tonight if my OH is feeling better

SarahShorty · 23/07/2022 19:36

Hi ladies xx Just a quick check in, I'm 10DPO today and will testing with FMU on an FRER tomorrow morning. I'm hoping for a positive, but expecting a negative otherwise the disappointment will hit harder. If it's negative, I'll wait until Thursday next week to see AF shows up, which hopefully it won't.

WingingIt09 · 23/07/2022 20:57

@SarahShorty good luck! I'm 8/9dpo. AF is due either Wednesday or Thursday. Planning on testing Tuesday at 10/11dpo, but if it's negative then will wait till AF is late.

SarahShorty · 24/07/2022 07:51

@WingingIt09 thank you! xx Unfortunately the test came back negative. So will have to see what next week brings. I'm counting myself out of this one.

EdinburghGirl1 · 24/07/2022 08:00

Sorry to hear this @SarahShorty fingers crossed for next time. Although you're still not out yet as some people don't get bfp until like 13/14dpo

Dreamingof3 · 24/07/2022 08:16

Good luck testing @WingingIt09
Sorry yours was negative @SarahShorty but hopefully still time 🤞

@PinkButtercups the thought of injecting myself makes me feel ill 😅 was bad enough with once a day for blood thinners!
