@Gizzy93 sorry about AF but congrats on the house! Exciting times

@DesertSnow I don't know what the success rates are but it's so much DTD it actually looks like it won't be fun, so I'm not in a rush to try it! 😅 I have seen it has worked for other people on mnet though. I really hope cycle 4 will be the one 🤞

Glad to hear your appointment went well @PinkButtercups ! That 16 weeks has gone so fast (for me, maybe not for you).

@shibeshibe my doctor told me it was a good idea to start taking folic acid 3 months before I got my coil removed. It helps to build up the levels in your body before you're actively trying. Plus your eggs are maturing for a few weeks before ovulation so this is why it's good to have all the right vitamins and minerals before you start trying. Although lots of people don't take them before they get pregnant and are still fine!

WingingIt09 · 19/07/2022 22:10

@Gizzy93 exciting about the house! Sorry AF arrived though

@PinkButtercups how exciting you got to listen to the heartbeats!

I'm either 3 or 4 DPO atm. AF due anytime from 27-29th depending on whether I have my usual luteal phase or the longer one I experienced last month.

PinkButtercups · 19/07/2022 22:30

@Dreamingof3 I have a little boy 🥰.

@shibeshibe wasn't a scan today just a midwife appt but she listened in with the Doppler 🥰.

@LucyLoopyLu 16 weeks has gone super fast. No one warned me just how quickly your second pregnancy flies by!

@WingingIt09 It was lovely and that little bit of reassurance. Been feeling some little rolls and movements more over the last few days. DP is trying to feel but they're not playing ball when his hand is placed on my stomach 🤣🤣.

AliceS88 · 20/07/2022 07:30

@keeponsmiling2019 how are you getting on?

@PinkButtercups gosh I know what you mean about the heat! I work in a community hospital and it's definitely been designed to keep the heat in with no AC! I've definitely felt bad for all the pregnant ladies coming in for their appointments looking so naffed off with that heat!

PinkButtercups · 20/07/2022 07:35

@AliceS88 How did you work in the heat in there? Did you find it okay? I feel sorry for you lot too! In my work I used to work in scrubs and although yes they're comfy they're so hot!

EdinburghGirl1 · 20/07/2022 08:11

Morning everyone, I just got my peak on a CB OPK but I'm only CD10 so a few days earlier than expected. Do you think I should be worried? This is only my second month off the pill so maybe that's part of the reason. When ttc#1 6 years ago I went straight into 26/28 day cycles and think I ovulated around CD14 so expected similar. I'm 37 now though so wonder if that also could be a reason. Really hoping this doesn't affect things this month as was feeling so positive about it all. Does anyone else here ovulate quite early in their cycle?

AliceS88 · 20/07/2022 08:13

@PinkButtercups it was horrendous tbh - we all just tried to stay as still as possible, which is quite a challenge in a hospital! I had to give up my fan for the urgent treatment department and then the water machine stopped giving out cold water, only lukewarm yuck 😂 but we made it haha!

shibeshibe · 20/07/2022 08:53

@LucyLoopyLu thank you for that info - it's really helpful! I will keep up with taking them then 😄

@PinkButtercups oops sorry I read your post wrong, so nice to hear on the doppler though too 😀

DanceWithYourBalloon · 20/07/2022 09:29

How is everyone getting on in the heat?

I've just passed 14 weeks and the sickness is finally subsiding and getting a bit of energy back. 😊

DesertSnow · 20/07/2022 12:55

@Dreamingof3 and @HippeePrincess that makes sense re. telling people - I guess it really is a personal choice.

@PinkButtercups so great you got to hear them! Will you wait to find out the genders?

@LucyLoopyLu agree with you that SMEP looks more work than fun 😅I certainly don't think we'll jump straight in with that, maybe if no success after 6 months or so. Fingers crossed for you this cycle!

@EdinburghGirl1 have heard that your cycles can take a while to regulate when you've just come off the pill, I wouldn't worry at this point.

@DanceWithYourBalloon great to hear you're feeling a bit better! Can't be fun being pregnant in this heat.

My BBT has gone back down, so looks like the spike yesterday was to do with the heat rather than ovulation 🙄CD20 for me, and no peak on the OPK yet...

keeponsmiling2019 · 20/07/2022 20:57

@AliceS88 hi still no Af just yet! I think I'll be 14dpo tomorrow. Tempted to test in the morning if I can.
Hope you're ok

AliceS88 · 20/07/2022 21:34

@keeponsmiling2019 ooh that's exciting! Please let us know!

No AF here either and no signs....still holding off testing for now!

AliceS88 · 20/07/2022 21:36

Those of us that use pregnacare, has it lengthened your cycles? And if so, by how many days?

AF will be "late" for me tomorrow but just want to get an idea in case it's just because of vitamins!

SarahShorty · 20/07/2022 22:00

@AliceS88 Both myself and DH are on Pregnacare. It hasn't lengthened my cycles. Saying that, this cycle I'm on I ovulated a day sooner than otherwise typical for me.

MoorlandFlower · 20/07/2022 22:20

Hi all, long time lurker first time poster! Would love to join the thread. Currently TTC #1 on second cycle, CD8. Was unreasonably gutted when AF turned up earlier this month, despite knowing the chances of it happening first time are so low. (Extra annoyance as I’d avoided all booze whilst on holiday. France. No wine. Torture!)
Feeling much more level headed this cycle, but still find it a bit of a lonely thing to be going through, so would really welcome this thread to have some TTC buddies!
Hope everyone’s keeping cool! Crazy weather has certainly been a good distraction to help stop me counting down the days at least 🥵

EdinburghGirl1 · 20/07/2022 22:37

Hi @MoorlandFlower welcome. I too am on cycle 2 and only a couple days ahead of you on CD10 but ttc#2. Hopefully we can keep each other company this cycle. Do you know when you think you might ovulate?

PinkButtercups · 20/07/2022 22:41

@AliceS88 Oh no! What a day for the water machine to break! Glad you got through your work day okay though!

@shibeshibe yes it was. It makes you want a Doppler yourself but I know it's dodgy territory so not going to.

@DesertSnow no, we won't find out genders. Tempting too as it was with DS but we didn't find out his sex and was a lovely surprise when they lifted him up so I could see what he was 🥰.

Been fasting since 8:30pm and I'm just craving a cold Pepsi Max! 16+4 today and have my GD test tomorrow. The twin midwife said regardless of me having GD before they test at 16 weeks with twins because the chance of having GD is much higher. Got another booked for 28 weeks if I don't have GD now. I'm sort of expecting it tbh. I had GD with DS so just feel like I'll probably end up with GD again.

LucyLoopyLu · 20/07/2022 22:55

Hi @MoorlandFlower I'm cd8 too, but on cycle 4 💜 welcome

@PinkButtercups good luck for the test, I guess if you've had it before you know the score although hopefully you won't get it again this time!

Fertile window starts Friday. It has been a stressful week so glad it wasn't this week

shibeshibe · 20/07/2022 22:57

@AliceS88 @SarahShorty

I've only been taking pregnacare a just over a week but I'll let you know! I did ovulate earlier than expected today but no idea if that's a coincidence.

MoorlandFlower · 21/07/2022 06:14

Hi @EdinburghGirl1 and @LucyLoopyLu - thanks for the welcome and nice to be synced up around the same CD 😊. Using OPKs and last couple of cycles have been CD15/17. Same here @LucyLoopyLu - back and forth to London with work this week so have purposefully kept next week as empty as poss to try and maximise sleep and focus on the task at hand! Look forward to keeping in touch 💚

EdinburghGirl1 · 21/07/2022 06:46

@MoorlandFlower that's good you're not back and forth next week. My OH is away to London next week from Wednesday so really glad I'm ovulating this week

Mortima · 21/07/2022 06:58

Does anyone experience variation in ovulation day?

It's only my third month of trying/tracking - first two months were the same cycle length with a positive OPK on day 15. Still waiting for a positive now as of day 17 - I've started doing BBT this month as well which shows no sustained temp spike either (so I don't think I've missed the peak).

I did have Covid last month, so I guess that might be messing things around?

Dreamingof3 · 21/07/2022 07:38

@PinkButtercups I had gd last time too so will also get the test at 16 weeks this time, it'll be nice to not be told it'll be booked in because I'm fat 😅
I think I'll be sticking to the diet regardless, I felt really good on it last time and gained absolutely no weight which was a bonus!

keeponsmiling2019 · 21/07/2022 07:59

@AliceS88 AF is here! Was just starting to convince myself I was pregnant. On to Cycle 3. I hope you're still going strong!
Plan of action is to DTD every other day from CD7 to CD15. No OPKs. This is how we concieved DS and much less stressful approach so here's hoping for an Aug BFP xx

AliceS88 · 21/07/2022 08:18

@keeponsmiling2019 damn AF, it can be so disheartening when she arrives :( make sure you take care of yourself over the few days.
I don't do OPKs either (mainly because I could never get to grips with them!)
