Hi everyone!

Haven’t been on for a while - so lovely to see so many positives 🥰

I’ve booked in next week for my coil removal… all seems to be getting real now! The timing is good too as I’m on my period now (I don't always get one with the coil) so I have a better idea of where I’m up to in my cycle.

DH and I are off on honeymoon at the beginning of August, so just going to go with the flow and not track until we are back.

LucyLoopyLu · 18/07/2022 18:07

@AlAliceS88 sounds like it could still go either way! I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

@Chanteuse good look for your coil removal! Mine was so quick and easy, hardy felt any sensation at all and definitely no pain - and took about a minute! Much easier than the stress of having it in although that was more nerves than anything else.

Chanteuse · 18/07/2022 18:26

@LucyLoopyLu that’s so good to know - I found the insertion awful to be honest! So glad to know it shouldn’t be too bad on the way out 😂

Gizzy93 · 19/07/2022 07:06

I'm definitely out this cycle, AF just showed. I'm okay with it though. I feel more relaxed a out it all now, but I've felt that way about the whole cycle so maybe it'll happen soon.

But my partner and I did just get approved for our home loan, so we should ve signing the contracts this week and we'll be home owners!

keeponsmiling2019 · 19/07/2022 07:30

Hi all just checking in. Congrats to the BFPs! @AliceS88 your same as me. I'm CD26 usually have 25-27 days cycle. Pulling and twinges and sore boobs but had that last cycle so trying not to get my hopes up. Going to try to survive this heatwave and if Af is a no show in a couple of days I'll test

AliceS88 · 19/07/2022 07:42

Oh exciting! A cycle buddy!

its so hard not read into every twinge and pull isn’t it! I’m CD26 today but still not going to test yet as also been taking vitamins so know they can mess with the cycle - will be very strange tho if I manage to get to CD28!

when are you going to test? I’m going to see how far I can get through the week and if no AF then I’ll test on Friday I think!

shibeshibe · 19/07/2022 07:51

Ahhh this is the thread I've been looking for! Me (32) and DH (33) have been waiting for 1.5 years to be able to TTC for our first. My job was fairly new and maternity package is statutory until a certain length of service - then its very good, so worth waiting for!

I have been counting down the months and in October we can actively start trying! I know it most likely won't happen right away but I'm driving myself crazy obviously counting down the months - so I'm glad I found this thread.

I don't have much to say except eeeee and happy to meet everyone and see their plans and future BFPs.

Bananatoast123 · 19/07/2022 08:19

@shibeshibe nice to meet you!

I’m 7dpo today and so far done better than the other months in forgetting the TWW! Determined not to cave and buy a test early this month and wait for if my period comes or not but I have a big family dinner at the weekend and I don’t know if I should test before so I know if I can drink or not? I’d be 12/11dpo!

Not had any symptoms yet - I usually have sore boobs by now on my usual cycle so hoping it is a good sign, but also not got my hopes up as we only dtd CD13&14 but I ovulated CD16

I’ve actually deleted my apps so that’s helped on the TWW and I’m tempted to keep off them to try ease the pressure if it doesn’t happen this month as it’ll be TTC cycle 6, I tend to know through CM now when it’s happening.

Dreamingof3 · 19/07/2022 08:29

@Gizzy93 sorry af arrived, but congrats on the house! Fab news 🎊

@shibeshibe welcome! I was waiting from the end of last year til may/June this year and it felt like forever 😅

Gizzy93 · 19/07/2022 08:33

@shibeshibe ah exciting! It felt like it took ages to get to the ntnp stage. Soon we'll be actively trying though 🤞

shibeshibe · 19/07/2022 09:40

@Bananatoast123
@Dreamingof3
@Gizzy93

Thanks for the warm welcome! You are so right though it definitely feels time is passing glacially slow. 😄

DesertSnow · 19/07/2022 10:59

@LucyLoopyLu I haven't looked at SMEP - does it have good success rates? I guess as long as you're hitting your fertile window you should be covered. Fingers crossed you get your positive soon!

Sorry to hear you're out @Gizzy93 - onto the next one. One cycle closer. And congrats on the house!

@PinkButtercups Gosh you're so far along already, I remember when you found out it's twins! Hope the sciatica wears off soon!

Hope all the expectant mamas and those ttc are ok in the heat (and everyone else of course!)

Do most people wait until 12 weeks to share the news? My OH would want to tell his family as sooon as we found out I think, but I would be more hesitant and want more confirmation that all is well...

@Chanteuse good luck with getting the coil removed! Exciting that you'll soon be trying.

@shibeshibe welcome! We'll be starting at around the same time - going by my current cycle dates I'll be starting ttc at the end of September. Definitely counting down the months! We agreed we'd starting trying September 2022 in June 2021 when we got engaged so it's been a long wait!

DesertSnow · 19/07/2022 10:59

Has anyone else's BBT risen the last couple of days due to the heat? Is that a thing? 😅I've been doing OPKs and got a 'high' reading yesterday afternoon, but not peak, then this morning my BBT jumped. I've been pretty good at taking it at a consistent time this cycle. So I'm wondering if it could be the heat, of if perhaps I missed a peak LH reading later yesterday and then ovulated overnight 🤔Will take an OPK later and see what my temperature does tomorrow I guess. It would mean my ovulation range is reasonably big I think - first cycle I tracked I ovulated CD22, then last cycle was CD20/21, so this would have been CD18 if indeed I did ovulate. Perhaps a range of 4 days is normal? Sure I'm overthinking it! Just interested to know if the heat has affected anyone else's BBT?

keeponsmiling2019 · 19/07/2022 11:19

@AliceS88 yes I thinking fri too! I haven't had my classic period pain feeling yet and I usually get that 24 hours before...but there is still time!
Funny you say that about vitamins because I'd been taking some pregancy vitamins a friend gave me as she had them left over and they completely messed up my cycle and it's only since reading on here that I see they were the culprit. Fingers crossed for us then 🙏

AliceS88 · 19/07/2022 11:41

@keeponsmiling2019 I think they're known for extending cycles but I've only been on them for 2 cycles and last one didn't change.

I too haven't had my usual pains in the run up - I always get lower tummy cramps for about 24hours before too but as of yet nothing but this weird back pain.

I've also been very emotional these last few days, been at the end of my tether with my patience but I think that could be down to the heat and general annoyances from DH and DS haha! And finding silly things are making me cry like emotional adverts or silly programmes. I can feel myself reading into it but I'm trying so hard to keep a lid on it.

Dreamingof3 · 19/07/2022 11:46

@DesertSnow we will tell close family before 12 weeks. Just in my experience, I had a miscarriage at just shy of 12 weeks previously and I'd not told anyone...and I found it so difficult to then talk about (had to be admitted to hospital too) so my view is that let people know who'd be able to support you if something did go wrong (sorry not very positive is it😅)

I think we'll tell my parents in a couple of weeks because we see them a lot and they'll question why I'm not joining in with the prosecco 😂

shibeshibe · 19/07/2022 12:58

@DesertSnow Ah amazing! I'll be about two weeks after you looking at my cycle! Very exciting.

HippeePrincess · 19/07/2022 13:27

@Gizzy93 congratulations on your home, we're waiting on a sale and purchase going through too! 😅

@shibeshibe we waited to ttc for what felt like ages and had to put it back 6 months but I was lucky to fall pregnant as soon as I came off my contraception before we were supposed to try!

@DesertSnow I've never waited til 12 weeks to tell close family and friends just the wider circle. This time we told my work and a close friend early on, then had a scan at 9 weeks and told our close family and a couple more close friends. My reason being I needed support when I miscarried. We'll tell more people after the 12 week scan maybe but haven't told my kids yet so may wait longer. Will probably let DP announce on social media at 16 or 20 weeks.

Gizzy93 · 19/07/2022 13:32

Ooh! Good luck @HippeePrincess

Gizzy93 · 19/07/2022 13:33

Look what he's sent me tonight 🥺

PinkButtercups · 19/07/2022 14:25

Had 16 week appt today. Thought I was going to melt in the hospital waiting room as there is no air con and the only fans were on receptions desk 🫠. My 3 year old DS came with me but fell asleep right before she done the Doppler so I recorded (with her permission) for DP & DS 🥰. Got to hear both which was great. One sounds like a train the other a gallop!

I don't know how they get away with keeping everywhere so hot 😫 especially antenatal places. Glad ypu got to hear them both...maybe one boy one girl?!

PinkButtercups · 19/07/2022 15:55

@Dreamingof3 I know! And to make it worse DP had the car so I had to get on the bus and my gosh there was no air con. I was sweating 🤣.

I think a boy and a girl, I thought this all along whereas I sent the video to DP and he said he thinks both boys. I was right with my son so.. 🤣

Dreamingof3 · 19/07/2022 18:47

@PinkButtercups I've forgotten, do you have a boy or girl already? I think one of each would be lovely 😍

I've already decided mines a girl 😂

shibeshibe · 19/07/2022 20:29

@HippeePrincess ah that's amazing! Love to hear when it happened quickly for people especially after waiting to ttc for so long 😊

@PinkButtercups despite the heat I bet the scan was worth it - congrats 🥰

I've started taking pregnacare pre conception vitamins last week (I'm probably a victim of pharmaceutical company marketing where the packets said take them from three months before) not sure if it's too early for that but it feels good to finally be on the road to TTC and start building up the folic acid haha 😄.
