@LucyLoopyLu just jumping in about the private scans. With our DD we went for a private scan at 8 weeks, 16 weeks and a 4D one later in the pregnancy. We partly did them as my DH couldn’t come to the nhs scans because of Covid but also for reassurance. I’d had a miscarriage before that pregnancy so was really anxious so the 8 week one helped a lot. And tbh it feels like such a long time between the 12 and 20 weeks scans it really helped break it up. Even with my DH being able to come to scans whenever I might get a bfp I think we’ll still do the private ones despite it costing a small fortune 😂

Hey thanks for the info, interesting to hear about what they can tell you especially the early scans! £50 doesn't sound too bad, definitely not cheap but I thought it might be more than that! And def worth it especially if you have concerns or during covid, it must have been so hard to have to go to the NHS ones on your own and hard for the partners as well 💛 I know so many people had a rough time with maternity care during covid.
It's definitely something I would consider but I guess you don't know how you would feel til you're actually in that position

@WingingIt09 do you take baby aspirin? I know it's not a fool proof method of helping conception but my fertility consultant prescribed me it after my third miscarriage. Don't know if it was coincidence but my next pregnancy stuck. My consultant was a big believer in it helping those who have a history of early/frequent losses. I've stared taking it this cycle after the faint positive/loss last month.

@LucyLoopyLu we had a private scan with dd at 9 weeks. Was very reassuring to have and very informative. I was on edge as had a MC the cycle before that and bleeding from 6 weeks (had an early scan for that too which husband wasn't allowed in for - NHS). If I ever conceive again we will be doing the same thing. Also had one of those 4d scans which was scarily accurate to how our daughter looks too!

11dpo test and can't tell if I have the faintest positive or an evap line. I'm thinking evap as it's only there when I tilt it. AF was due yesterday and no spotting yet to indicate it starting which I always get. This is the longest TWW I have had

@Dreamingof3 I think I'm going to need to go out and get an FRER to settle my mind as the ones I've got aren't very sensitive. I've never felt so nervous and still trying not to get my hopes up 😬

Not even a hint of a line on the FRER so not looking too good! It's at least settled my mind for the day

@LucyLoopyLu finally got my peak yesterday at CD17 so will hopefully be ovulating today! Such a late one for me this month. Need to try to DTD today because we didn't manage to last night as got home so late. Definitely out of synch with our cycle buddy status now 🤣 I'm cycle 3 too - hopefully this is lucky number 3 for us both!

We've been away this weekend so I've not kept up with the thread but belated congratulations @OCM19 and sorry to those af has arrived for.

I am 5dpo today. Feeling some little twinges and boobs starting to feel a bit sore but nothing new from last month which was obviously BFN.
I don't want to get my hopes up this time but probably already have 🤦🏼‍♀️
This month would be great timing wise (for work and other reasons) so that's probably jinxed it anyway

Can I join 🙋‍♀️ I popped onto the board back in March/April (different username) as I’d had my implant taken out and we were/are ‘seeing what happens’. I’m not that laid back though- turns out! And having had an initial ‘period’ straight after implant removal I then had nothing for 3 months. I bought some ovulation tests but I only tried a couple and it was always low ovulation.

I’ve since had my first proper period in many years, AND I got a ‘peak fertility’ smiley face on a test a week and a half ago. We dtd and I estimated I’m around 11dpo now but did a cheepo test last night —and this morning— and bfn. I’ve had bad acne around my jawline and thought I felt both ovulation AND implantation so I was hopeful but nothing so far.

In some ways, it’s good. I got notice of redundancy a few weeks ago and new job starts at the end of August. BUT at 36 and 56, we’re not getting any younger. Best case scenario really would be bfp in September but we’re trying anyway as it can obviously take a while to work properly, I’m terrified of it not working at all tbh.

i hope to be here for the duration now, now my cycle seems to be settling right down. I’m so excited and no scared. The new job thing really threw me and I was really set up before for babytown. But here we are- it’s life!

@AgeGapBbe welcome, will this be your first? A lot going on but I bet that means the universe will decide now is the time for a baby 🤞🤣

Haha! Yes! First for me, he already has 2 (lovely) teenagers.

We’ve recently moved in together and it’s a bit of a house project too so you may well be right! Perfectly liveable (thank god) but a project nonetheless!

@Dreamingof3 @LucyLoopyLu thanks not getting my hopes up but know it can still be early for BFP. My cervix is high but having some AF like cramping so could be on it's way. I'm feeling okay was a little deflated this morning but work is keeping me busy

@lj2022 I felt the same last month, I was a bit disappointed but not too terrible but I had got my hopes up a bit with the sore boobs I've literally never had in my life before! And I've been off hormonal contraception for 3+ years as well so it's not because of being on the pill before.

@AgeGapBbe hi welcome to the thread 🙂 sounds like you have a lot going on but nothing like keeping busy 🤣 good sign to get the positive OPK and etc., fingers crossed you get your best case scenario of September! Or sooner 😀

Thanks so much @LucyLoopyLu it’s so weird to be finally in a place where this could happen- so many many years of singleton I very thought I’d be so lucky, I’m trying not to focus on ‘luck running out’ as it just doesn’t always actually work like that 😬 just got to keep hopeful!

Hi all hope everyone had a nice weekend :) just wanted to share some good news - I had a 21 day progesterone test (done on cd29 in my case!) and it showed a level of 36 which my GP says is indicative that ovulation happened. So pleased as I’ve been so unsure whether I’m ovulating due to irregular cycles. Definitely gives me more hope :)
